Nice place! Very comfortable waiting area while they work on your car. I came in with a windshield wiper fluid reservoir that was leaking! Wasnt sure if it needed to be replaced completely. They were up front and said it could just be the hose. So I brought it in the same day, they looked at it, found out the hose was cracked, and replaced it. And for free since it was such a simple job! Very reasonable people and Im very grateful. Thanks !
Great Auto Care Service!My car needed an oil change. As usual, an overall checkup was performed by the Motec service technician.The oil change was performed in a timely manner, and satisfactory cost. I was on my way.I really appreciate being informed of any future recommended service to keep my car in running condition.I am very glad Motec Auto Care is still open.
Very professional and excellent service .I had a faulty break light and the person at front desk replaced the bulb very quickly and didnt charge a single penny.I highly recommend them .
Adolfo and Rand are Amazing! They charged me probably 50% less than other places quoted, they drove me to the gym while I waited for repairs, and they did a great job on my car! Adolfo really help me a lot. His customer service is beyond what I expected. They even clean my headlights for free. And the lights I was having issue with they didn’t charge me anything. But they fixed the issue. Very honest people.
I took I used car here for a pre-purchase inspection, which cost half of what I was used to paying. Motec mechanics found over $1,000 worth of repairs that needed to be done on the car. I then took the same car to my usual trusted mechanic who charged twice as much for the inspection but found all the same problems, so Im going to use Motec from now on.Also, this place has the nicest customer waiting lounge Ive seen anywhere in San Diego, better than any doctors office.
I just recently used Motec to get my oil changed and they were very friendly and had me in and out Quick. They offer very fair pricing and compared to where I went before the cost for a oil change was $50 less. They have a wonderful and very cozy waiting room. Nice couches, clean bathrooms, vending machines, a pool table, TV, etc. The gentleman who took my info was very friendly and answered all my questions. Its definitely my go to place now.

Unprofessional stuff. They can do some simple things as others. I tried to get alignment on my tuned car(explained what is done and what kinds of parts are installed), but after 2 hours of waiting - nothing finished!!! They messed with everything and released my car to go home as it is!!! They just said: our system doesn’t know how to alight your car(has some upgrades). Then I pulled my car to the right guy and he fixed that mess for 10 min!!! And it drives as a king!Shame on you!

I have been taking my Mini to MOTEC Auto Care for the past year and will continue to do so for they have easily won my business with their professional work, honesty and reasonable prices. I have had a simple oil changes as well as having my my clutch replaced and have been more than happy with the work. This past week I needed to have a number of things done, including replacing something related to the turbo. The car runs really nicely now! The owner Debbie is wonderful and I hope others give MOTEC a chance. You will not regret it.
We bring our work trucks here to get repairs all the time. The staff is always friendly (special shout out to Nick & Jessica who are always above and beyond with their helpfulness and patience). They dont mind when we shop around for other quotes, though there hasnt been a time when they werent the best priced one.The repairs are timely, even when they need to order parts, and were never made to feel like a drag on inconvenience, as weve felt at other places.Motec makes us feel like theyre happy to see us and happy to hear from us, which makes us more than happy to go and hear from them!
I dropped in for their new customer special of an oil change and wiper blade replacements for a little over $40, and had them replace my brake pads as well. They also swapped out my air filter without charging for labor. I was out the door in just a couple hours. All in all, it was a pleasant experience, and I felt that my car was in good hands.
Terrible, terrible, terrible! Im speaking about the diagnosis that was $113 and what they found were not issues relating to the car not starting. They wanted to charge me over $800 in parts and labor!! For something that didnt need replacing to fix my car. They were just guessing on whats the problem and they were not honest about it because I had my real mechanic look at it and it was not that serious. Thank you Gil. Honestly Gils Automotive in Escondido is where its at. It was only $375 to fix it including an oil change. The hospitality on this place is the only reason why its getting a 1 start and not 0. They will give you a ride to school or wherever nearby or pay for the Uber. But its not worth it by how much they charge. They are trying to fix everything they can even if unnecessary just to get more money. Very dishonest people. Dont go here.
I was genuinely impressed by my experience at Motec Auto Care. Owner Debbie Wright is not only the cutest mechanic youll ever meet, but she and her staff are also the friendliest. Rather than take my money, they diagnosed my issue for free, and actually advised against doing the expensive repair. Sean, one of her mechanics, speaks with a very heavy Irish accent. He not only told me the sad truth about my old car, but entertained me in the process.
Debbie and Nick are a great team, they service all our fleet vehicles and even our staffs personal ones. They are fair and will not oversell you, they make people feel comfortable, and will back up what they promise.
Motec Auto Care is a caring, loving and professional environment. My experience with them was absolutely great. I just moved to SD bought a car that broke down immediately after purchased and I needed a reliable car and I needed one NOW. They generally cared about my situation and helped me in my time of need, by getting me the cheapest rate possible and still providing great service towards my car. I know they were doing and giving their best when they worked on my car to make it reliable. Others simply didnt care and where unaffordable. I love the staff and what they have done to my car; they have brought it back to life. They assured me when I left if I had any problems after their service to bring it back and they will take care of it and anything else that is wrong. I highly recommend them. They have me as a loyal customer in SD. Thank you very much for your kindness, help and for being there for me in my time of need and hardship and for continuing to help me if I have any problems. Motec is very good. I drive from Chula to them because I trust them so much. My truck runs like new at 150,000. Thats after a challenging and intermittent electrical problem. They fixed it. Im so happy. It took a year of dealing with the problem and mechanics that couldnt get it. Motec did and fast. And a very fair price. Debbie, the owner, is wonderful and her Mechanics are the best! I bought a 05 rav4 at the beginning of the year and the team here has been great at fixing the problem. I never feel as if Im being upsold and they are great at explaining what is wrong with the car. I also enjoy the displays in the shop of pieces that are old and new.

I took my 2007 Tundra to Motec. There was a whining howling noise coming from my rear end (on the Tundra) upon acceleration. Motec duplicated the sound and called me later that day and was under the impression of a cheap fix, until they opened the rear differential for inspection and metal chunks came out of the rear differential and was circulating through my differential gear oil. The truck ran fine when I brought it there so I was hesitant at first when Nick said my rear end was shot and needed a new one. He quoted me $ and 3 days for the repair. I told him to go ahead and make the necessary repairs. Nick called me every day with an accurate progress update, including my rear brakes were near shot upon a complementary safety inspection. They replaced the rear brakes, only thing I can say is it was an excellent deal, they went over and beyond on this one, and Im thankful for Motec. It was obvious to me that Motec did everything they could to keep my bill at what it was originally quoted. I know this because when I showed up on the 3rd day to pick up my truck, he brought me to a box with all my original parts in it and I made a thorough inspection of my parts as to make sure they did indeed need to be replaced, and they did. He showed me my rear brake pads too, Im glad Motec got that taken care of. Its been over 500 miles since the repair, wanted to wait til I was past the break in period before I posted my review. I hope my 5 stars cancel out somebody elses 1; negative reviews do not belong here, Ive been to enough repair shops to know.. I am thankful for an honest repair shop like Motec, who thrives on happy customers. I will definitely refer Motec to a friend or family member. And anybody with a Dwight Schrute bobble head on their desk is ok with me. Thank you Motec!

Dang! Ive become a loyal customer after my last experience at Motec...I had some repairs done about a year ago and its been good for a while (I drive a lot) but had some oil leaking :( so I took my truck in to have them look at it and it was the same problem! They part totally failed at no fault of MoTec and even though the parts company refused to help them out and take give them a new part, MoTec TOTALLY STOOD BEHIND THEIR WORK and replaced it for free. I just bought the part myself (which is more then fair)I dont know any other mechanics that would do that... Ill be telling my family to come here from now on.
WENT TO MOTEC OFF MIRAMAR ROAD ABOUT 3 WEEKS AGO AND HAD A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE, SPENT $1200.00 ON 2 NEW FRONT STRUTS/SHOCKS BECAUSE THE PASSENGER SIDE WAS LEAKING AND IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT YOU REPLACE THEM IN PAIRS. GOT THE CAR BACK AND NOTICED IT WAS LEAKING ON THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE BY THE SHOCK AREA AND CALLED MOTEC ON A FRIDAY TO LET THEM KNOW AND WAS TOLD IT WAS NOT A GOOD DAY TO COME BY SO MADE AN APPOINTMENT FOR MONDAY AND DROVE THE CAR TO AND FROM MOTEC FROM CARLSBAD IN THE DRIZZLE.MY CAR IS A BEAUTIFUL 280ZX WITH ONLY 42K MILES AND LOOKS ONLY 2 YEARS OLD AND HAS BEEN IN 4 MAGAZINES. EVEN THE BOTTOM OF THE CAR LOOKS 2 YEARS OLD. INSTEAD OF TAKING THE AREA APART AND CLEANING THE SHOCK AND FILLING IT TO THE RIGHT LEVEL I WAS TOLD THAT THEY CHANGE SHOCKS ALL THE TIME AND IT IS NORMAL FOR THEM TO LEAK A LITTLE, THEY ALSO COULD NOT TELL ME WHEN IT WOULD STOP LEAKING. I NEVER WET MY CAR AND DROVE DOWN THERE FOR NOTHING AND INSTEAD OF FIXING THE PROBLEM THEY SENT ME AWAY WITH THE CAR STILL LEAKING. IF I WOULD HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT I WOULD HAVE LEAKS BEFORE THEY WORKED ON THE CAR I WOULD HAVE NEVER SPENT 1200.00; THAT IS WHY I HAD THE WORK DONE TO STOP THE LEAKING. THEY SAID THAT THE CAR WAS OLD, EXACTLY, THATS WHY I HAD WORK DONE AND THEY ADMITTED THAT THEY OVERFILLED THE STUT AND THATS WHY ITS LEAKING??? ONE MUST WONDER IF THEY OVERFILL BRAKE FLUID AND OIL AND ANTIFREEZE??????? I HAVE SINCE PLACED THE CHARGE IN DISPUTE STATUS WITH MY CREDIT CARD COMPANY. I TALKED TO A NISSAN SPECIALIST AND HE CONFIRMED THAT JUST LIKE ANTIFREEZE, BRAKE FLUID, AND OIL..IF THE SHOCK WOULD HAVE BEEN FILLED AT THE RIGHT LEVEL THERE SHOULD NOT BE ANY LEAKS. SO NOW AFTER SPENDING 1200.00 I AM IN THE SAME BOAT I WAS IN BEFORE THEY WORKED ON THE CAR BUT ON THE DRIVER SIDE INSTEAD OF PASSENGER SIDE. THEY COULD HAVE EASILY FIXED THE PROBLEM WHEN I INCONVENIENTLY WENT BACK BUT WORKING ON OTHER REPAIRS AND LEAVING EARLY WAS MORE IMPORTANT THAN A PAID 1200.00 CUSTOMER THAT WAS UNHAPPY BECAUSE OF POOR WORK.
After living with half our air conditioning working in our 2007 Santa Fe with the dual climate control and taking it to Drew Hyundai (now Penske) asking them to check it out (car was still under warranty when we started having issues) they said everything was fine and they could not find any problems. Months later we took it back still with same issue but now car was just out of warranty and Drew told us the climate control panel was bad and needing replacement at approximately $900 dollars. We took our issue to corporate as we were telling them it wasnt working properly for quite a few months to no avail and they refused repairing anything under warranty. We took our car to Motec and they did an air conditioning wellness check knowing we were expecting some expensive air flow diverter thingy. To our surprise and happiness, they only had to recharge the system and the dual climate was working as expected for just over $100. Ill be visiting Penske as the service person still works there and tell him about how we saved about $800. After we returned to pick up the car, Steve was nice enough to spend some time with me looking at my Cooper while I asked about some issues I was having with it. After we return from our trip to the desert, Ill be bringing in the Cooper for some much needed maintenance. I highly recommend Debbie and Motec for your service needs. You only get one chance at honesty and Motec has held that trust every visit and I expect nothing less in the future.
An obese technician will take your car for a test drive and your car seat will never be the same again. My seat since he sat in it has never been the same since.
