I was overheating on my way into San Diego to visit my family. I stopped and put antifreeze in. I was on my way for a short trip to OfficeMax the next day when the engine temp light came on YET AGAIN. Clearly I had a leak so I googled the nearest Mini Cooper mechanic and Import Auto came up. I called them and they agreed to let me bring my car over immediately. I explained to them the situation. They were incredibly accommodating. They were able to get my car into the queue for repair and went out of their way to offer me options, guiding me to contact my home mechanic to see if certain work had been done rather than just indicating to me that it needed done. Their work was outstanding - they got my car back TWO days later - which given the amount of work and my unannounced visit - was lightening fast - and i drove him with confidence in my transmission and coolant system in 110 degree heat and had ZERO problems. I HIGHLY recommend these guys - they are total pros and fair!

2012 Subaru Legacy with an electronic parking brake not engaging. I called several shops all of whom mentioned they don’t work on an electronic parking brake and I should go to a dealer. Excellent updates from the staff throughout the repair. Detailed explanation and estimates of worst case scenario and what they thought after initial inspection. They told me what they thought they had to do, did not charge me parts/ replacements that turned out unnecessary, and made it right the first go - very quickly. Thanks very much.

I’m very picky when it comes to places to work and fix anything on my Audi. I previously had all my work done at the Audi dealership. I was their customer for number of years servicing our sons VW. Referred people to them.During the last visit they sent me a report definitely looking for money. Charged $142+to just perform check engine light .Also quoted more money for brake service than a MBZ dealer for my car.I checked with other businesses for the brake service and it was almost half the price.When I mentioned my disappointment, I was told ( by the owner via his employee) that they checked the record,and apparently they were charging me “NOT ENOUGH”? for the past services I had them do it on the car(😳).I will not be back.

Came for a 4 wheel alignment. The cost for the service was 10 dllrs below the dealers rate. So the cost savings for this particular service was marginal. But I quoted for a brake service (pads, rotor resurface, adjustment) and in that, they have a very attractive offer. When needed Ill probably come here.I liked the transparency. I really liked that they send a link to the car inspection they perform. You can save it for your records paperless!It would be great if you would sell and install after market parts. Specially calipers and brake kits.

Vehicle was brought in for service due to a fluid leak coming from the transmission pan. Vehicle was serviced for a transmission leak during a previous visit, however a leak was noticed after I took possession of vehicle. I notified IAS and was instructed to bring vehicle back. Now I expected to hear a bunch of excuses for the leak. I also expected to be charged for the 2nd repair. Ive dealt with such tactics in the past however I was pleasantly surprised not to experience such behavior. The vehicle was repaired within the time frame indicated & with the same high quality service Ive come to expect from IAS. Their professionalism really impressed me during this experience. Great customer service and a fair price. There was a few bumps that extended the repair process, but they stuck to the original estimate which was really great. Extending the repair time was going to cause me to miss an appointment at a different shop where I was planning to buy tires on sale. Bill took my wheels to the other shop so I could still get the deal, which was way above and beyond what I expected. When I got my car back I noticed the exhaust tip trim piece was missing, they replaced that free of charge as well. In my experience most car repairs dont go exactly as planned time wise, but these guys were honest and professional which isnt always the case when hiccups happen. I wont be taking my BMW anywhere else.

This shop is it!I bought my car from a 3rd party seller a couple months ago. Of course it took a few months to realize thatadditional work on this car was required.The quotes, the presentation, and the pricing they provided were reasonable.The process on how they worked with me made accepting the necessities of car maintenance, less painful.I was impressed with the cooperation and communication between their entire team of people in the shop.As professional mechanics, their only concern is to do what they can to restore any car to tip top shape.I got the minimal done, and a couple other items. There was only one other item that had to be added in the long run, BUT my car engine is running magnificently this past week AND I have seen an improvement in my gas mileage too!...Oh, and the few extras I agreed to, were well worth the fix!I will be back.

Their estimate was accurate and they checked some things I never thought about like air pressure in my spare tire. Their free 32 point inspection brought to light a worn bushing in my suspension and an oil leak from my valve cover gasket. Again things I never thought to look at. Alternator went out on my 2004 Audi A6, Charles at IAS was professional, polite and very knowledgeable. Gave a spot on quote over the phone and was able to get my car in and out quicker than expected, the price was very competitive for the amount of labor it takes to work on the front end of the 2.7T. Even had him check out a small coolant leak and was able to take care of it relatively cheap. Very glad I put my car in these guys hands. Great shop, great workers, great price, and overall this is by far my best experience with any mechanic shop Ive ever dealt with. Highly recommended.

Service here is excellent. The staff is very thorough about documenting and explaining issues to you and in correcting problems. Regardless of whether you drive a rustbucket old Honda or a brand new Mercedes they really go out of their way to make you feel like a high value customer. Only complaint is that labor rates are a bit on the high side, but you definitely get what you pay for.

Bought my Audi from them this year and all work done on it as well as its overall condition at sale was OUTSTANDING. Ill be a constant customer of theirs from now on.

Very fair and honest. Complete diagnostic with bad news but said it how it was with a priority level. I was told what should be done first and what could wait. If you want to find out what is wrong with you car, call Bill. And Bill stored my car for 5 days because of some confusion with AAA and didnt try to jack me on storage fees. Very fair company. Since I bought my Subaru in 2015, I have done 99% of my services at a Subaru dealer. I felt comfortable with their service suggestions and their list of suggestive services at various mileage markers. However, when my 120,000 mile service came up, I was not thrilled about paying hundreds and hundreds of dollars for repairs, inspections, and services that I may not have needed. My father-in-law did a ton of research and had a great conversation with Brian from Import Auto Specialists. I followed with Brian and he was kind enough to offer their shuttle services to bring me to work (and pick me up from work when necessary). We settled on an appointment later in the week. I met Brian when I dropped my car off and was immediately impressed by his candor, honesty, and attention to detail.We went over what I wanted done and any other issues I was experiencing with the car. He promised that hed complete these services and provide me with another quote if anything additional needed to be done. He explained that the 120,000 mile service would take about 4 hours and hed call me between 1pm-2pm. He called me exactly at 1:30pm!!! He explained that I needed additional service and provided me with another quote. He told me that I could pick up my car the following day. When I went to pick up my car, he explained (in a lot of detail), what they had done and also what I could expect with my next service. He was very easy to understand and felt so sincere and genuine with his responses. I left IAS with a smile on my face. I immediately called my wife to explain my experience with Brian and IAS. I told her that we found our new mechanic! I would encourage anyone to go to Brian. He is thoughtful and genuine and it feels like he really cares about his customers. The prices also incredibly fair. I dont feel cheated or that he tried to upsell me at all. Thank you Brian and IAS. I have never posted an online review and I absolutely felt compelled to do this. My story begins with a 2004 VW Touareg...I initially brought my car here for a blower motor fan replacement. My prior mechanic had charged me to diagnose this issue, but failed to apply my diagnostic fee towards the actual repair... who does that, right?! IAS came referred to me by my boss, who was referred to them by his friend.I called and spoke with Charles. And like a damaged girlfriend, I talked to him pretty dry and bluntly. But it didnt even faze him. He actually was still very helpful, pleasant and accommodating to my blower motor issue. He coordinated my repair from start to finish while meeting promised timelines and courtesy shuttle service (which I found most helpful since I work and have to pick up kids from daycare by a certain time). The pricing was typical but he did offer me a 10% discount to help me out.After this initial experience back in June, Ive taken my car there for some other electrical items (who knew the 2004 Touareg electronics suck!). And they have been more than helpful, professional and timely. I was even offered a courtesy oil change in order to encourage proper scheduled maintenance as it helps them when I keep on top the little things. Thought that was cool to have a garage look out for my car like that. Mechanics are scary but IAS has definitely broken my preconceptions. Try them out and make sure to ask for Charles.
