Thank you for being so honest when I came in with my 2017 Chevrolet Traverse with the AC problem after I had taken it to Pep Boys who wanted $1800 for for new compressor and condenser. You were correct that it was the evaporator. I would have left it with you to fix if you all werent so backed up! We got it fixed at the dealer we bought it from and now we have cold air!!! I filed a complaint with the BAR against them. Also complained in Google and Yelp if youd like to read the long version. Actually got a refund of my $49.99 too!

These guys did us right, even when there was an issue with the repair. We heard they have a good reputation and now we know why. They stand, strongly behind their work.

Absolutely the BEST place to have any kind of work done on your car.I called this morning after smelling gas fumes. It rang but no answer, tow minutes later, Tom calls me back asking what is up. He knew my name AND my number had me come in to check it out. In under 20 minutes he had not only fixed my car, replacing an old fuel line but sent me on my way.Tom and Aaron are my automotive heroes, with Michael as my guardian angel! They fixed my dead AC last year and came in under the estimated price by $100. They actually offer a 20% discount in the winter months on AC repair but only until the end of February so get in soon!My car died the other week and not only did they let me tow it in, they were still there after hours to let me drop it off. It was done the next afternoon and running great. A new starter, an oil change/tune up and I was good to go.

We found this place a few years ago and our cars and trucks serviced there when we need it. Getting in or out of their driveway is a bear, but the service is very good, the work is great, and the pricing is fair. Theyll drop off and pick up when they can, which is nice. My brother had 2 catalytic converters sawed off his Toyota yesterday while he was at work. Dealer said $$$$$, which brother does not have. We called Stanco after hours, and seriously lucked out when they answered. They couldnt help us, but they knew someone who could that they trust. They gave us the other garages number, and everything was taken care of less that 8 hours later. And for 1/3 what the dealer quoted, complete with tow. My brother had called around, and hadnt gotten any where close to Stanco was able to find.

Called in to see if I could get some work done and was basically told they werent interested because I mentioned buying the parts. The guy didnt even let me finish to explain that I wanted to know if they would install the parts and if not then what it would cost me to have the ac vacuumed and then refilled. He literally told me that other times in the year they would be more than happy to help but since this is summer that the guys working there would get mad that they werent making as MUCH profit as they could. Way to go good customer service and making long term customers. Such a typical California entitlement attitude.

My 2006 CR-V wasnt blowing cold air anymore. I got tired of filling it myself every few months and I started smelling a chemical smell from the vents. I called for an appointment and after accepting the estimate they got to work. My car was done when they said it would be done and now blows ice cold. When you get there you will notice the office is pretty disorganized but dont let this turn you away. They are friendly and do great work.

Called them about fixing up may A/C. Told them I knew what was wrong and had all the parts. Got told they were too busy and couldnt help me until winter. I wasnt asked about the issue I was having. Just that they were too busy. For all the other reviews stating excellent customer service and willing to take the time to talk I expected better.

HORRIBLE PLACE. First off, the appearance of the place is disgusting and a mess. But I can understand that. Its a mechanic shop. When I pulled in there were two of his workers behind all the old Gtos smoking pot. So I ask him after we do all the paperwork lets do a damage check around the vehicle to protect yourself & myself. He immediately told me to leave and refused my business. STAY AWAY from this shop guys. Trust me.

Great service. After refurbishing my entire AC system over 2 years ago, they still took care of some blown parts at a reasonable cost even though it was out of warranty. Cant recommend them more!

I went to Stanco earlier this week to repair a coolant fan and it was the best experience Ive ever had with an auto shop. I had been to several other shops including my dealership and they were all trying to charge me much more than I knew the job was worth. At Stanco, they gave me the OEM part for a very fair price and fixed my problem the same day. Micheal and Tom are very friendly and I feel like they really care about the quality of work they do. I will definitley be returning to Stanco and I would recommend them to anyone and everyone!

These guys are so nice and trustworthy. As a woman, I am always leery of mechanics, plumbers etc, thinking I am probably getting ripped off. Here it was different (I was also not as concerned since they were highly recommended by Hillcrest Smog and Repair, also trustworthy and affordable mechanics). I was first at Stanco in 2011 and needed an air conditioning repair, they told me how to temporarily fix the prob for free until I was ready to make the cost commitment on a repair. Now Im ready to sell the car and went back for the actual repair, and Tom helped me. He found all I needed was to tighten the temperature knob, which by now had gotten very loose (since that was not the obvious fix back in 2011) and if course Tom did it for free. I will definitely go back here as needed and recommend it to others!

I gave Stanco a 1 out of 3 for quality because they did fix my ac problem, however they are the only place I know of in San Diego that can recharge R-12 and thats why I went there. I know a little bit about cars so when I got the bill for $305 to do a leak test and a re-charge you tend to feel a little ripped off. Thats why I give there service 0 out of 3. As far as Appeal goes, another 0. The office area was completely unorganized, dirty and cluttered with boxes and other random parts which I believe is a direct reflection of the service. I dont intend to be rude, just trying to state an honest opinion.

Stanco was a 2nd opinion on getting my AC problem fixed. My 1st estimate was almost $1K. Michael diagnosed and fixed my problem for $134 and the issue was diagnosed, fixed and ready to go in less than 2 hours. I could not be more pleased. I highly recommend them!

I brought my motorhome in to Stanco after it was butchered by another repair facility. It would not pass smog and ran like doo doo. There were layers of things wrong with the Motorhome. Michael and his team took the time to find all of the hard to diagnose problems that were choking my ford 460 engine. Partial List: Wrong spark plugs, timing set incorrectly, oxygen sensor cross threaded, bolts on the exhaust manifold that was installed by the previous shop were only hand tight. and more. Stanco patiently went through and fixed everything and took the truck that was running like a turd and make it run like a puppy. It idles so smooth, passed smog and our family has our beloved camping machine back. They went out of their way, filling up the gas, bringing it to be smog tested. In so many ways Michael went out of his way. I am now a devotee. Thank you.

I got an estimate for thousands of dollars to fix my air conditioning system from the owner of Stanco. I took my vehicle into another shop and it turned out to be simply a failed relay instead. Cost was under $50.Stanco cannot be trusted. Classic rip-off joint.
