Just moved in and so far its been amazing here! Our apartment is nearly perfect, and anything it lacks the maintenance people quickly help us with. Vanessa has also been incredibly helpful in helping us get settled and answering all of our questions! In general, I must say this is a lovely place to live :)

****Potential Renter Beware of Future Move Out Charges******Things at Circa37 were pretty pleasant for most of our stay, and I will put a pros and cons list at the bottom to give you an idea, but the move out process is where I feel Circas management is taking advantage of people by charging them fees for painting when its included in normal wear and tear because of that I had to give them a low rating because its just not right to try and take advantage of people. The issue is I was charged $152.78 for painting, one of Circas management team Margo, told me that the paint is supposed to last 36 months and they prorate the amount of time you have been living there, so since we were living there for just over a year they gave us a credit for $92 for paint and charged us the rest. **Disclaimer** This prorate amount for paint is not listed in the lease. What is on the Lease is, The Landlord may charge the security deposit for the following items, (2) The repair of damages to the premises, exclusive of ordinary wear and tear, caused by the tenant or by a guest or licensee of the tenant. We did not have damages that were exclusive of wear and tear and I have included photos for people to see. Overall, I did enjoy living at Circa and the pros definitely outweighed the cons but being deceptive in your move out charges is something I think people should be aware of before they sign a lease.Pros:-Access to several amenities as well as access to West Park and Purl Amenities (Since Covid, this has changed, only allowed to use the property you live in)-Pool is great-Convenient to shopping and Interstate-Walking distance to several shops, park-Parking was never an issue-Soon to be Elementary schoolCons:-Maintenance on several occasions marked requests as completed when they were not-Several of the fitness equipment in both Circa37 and West Park gym were broke-Hardwood floors are installed on 2nd and 3rd floor apartments meaning you can hear every step the person above you makes-Appliances are awful, they are the same cheap white appliances that always break except in stainless steel to make them seem more expensive-Little closet space-People do not pick up after their pets

Circa 37, you’ve been wonderful to me. Thank you.To anyone interested in living here:- Modern design- Top notch amenities- Community Park within walking distance featuring basketball courts, large grass areas for sports and picnic, large cement area for roller toys- Prompt and quality service- Community events such as food trucks, concerts, Zumba and yoga classesThings to keep in mind (applicable anywhere really):- If you’re by the street, you will get some street noise- The balcony’s for the most part do not get much sun ( in case your a plant person )- Near the pool you get pool noiseTheft, it exists here as much as any other luxury apartment complex where there may be valuables in vehicles. Nothing new/special.Margot and Georgia are wonderful, very down to earth. Thanks again CircaHappy Hunting.

Is cucumber water worthy of the rental increase.Toured the property and was sold on the amenities but the layout doesn’t make sense for my needs.Civita has several other complexes that are condos who rent and the pricing beats Circa every time.

My wife and I moved into a 2nd floor, 1bd 1ba after we got married. It was at the high end of our budget, but it was far and away from the other places we visited. The leasing office staff was super friendly and patient. We worked with Kayleigh, mainly. She took us to see what’s now our apartment more than once and worked through the options with us. She was very responsive when emailing and helpful with getting our lease - glad she was there! It was clear she knew the complex well and she gave us confidence in moving here. There aren’t fans installed in any rooms, but if you buy/have one, they’ll install it for you for free, which was awesome! You definitely need one, or a ceiling light in the bedroom - it’s super dark 24/7 otherwise.

I recently moved from D.C. to San Diego and tackled the apartment hunting nightmare upon arrive. Ten days of trying to figure out a clean, safe, affordable & pleasant apt complex came top a successful end the minute I found Circa 37. Not only are the grounds beautiful but the front office staff & even residents are wonderful! Also its very close to Civita Park & an amazingly clean dog park!Although everyone is great, Reese deserves a special mention! She is so welcoming and genuinely enjoys her job! Recently when my elderly parents came to visit from Ohio, she helped welcome my parents while I was at work (I couldnt take any time off since its a new job). She gave them a tour of the amenity and showed them to my apartment. Also I felt comfortable leaving my keys with her so that she could give them to my parents. The whole experience here is fabulous. If I have to make ANY recommendations to improve, I would request that they clean the swimming pool area tables & chairs and grill area with disinfect every single morning AND add larger trash container in these areas (or take out the trash more often). Some residents spill gunk all over the place & the trash cans fill very quickly on weekends & holidays. But i guess its to be expected. Oh and the coffee area ;)Thanks Circa 37 & especially Reese!

I love living at Circa 37! We planned on only living here for about a year and we are now going on our third year! The amenities are amazing.. resort living at its finest! They have a nice pool, gym, and BBQ areas! The staff takes great care of the complex. Everyone is also super friendly and helpful. The location is ideal as well.. as much as I thought I didnt want to live in Mission Valley, Circa 37 is the best! Perfect location to get downtown, to the beach, etc.

Been living here for a little over a month and LOVE it! Moved from across the country and Carol helped us pick out our place. She was easy to work with and we are very happy we chose Circa 37! Ive lived in a downtown area for the last few years so the peace and quiet has been wonderful! My favorite part are the amenities. Cant wait to test out the gym across the street for my next work out! Would definitely recommend checking out this place out if you need a place to live!

It is a well managed apartment complex and I love the landscaping and plants around Circa 37! The management team is very helpful and responsive. All the shared spaces and amenities are very clean and work properly. Circa 37 is a part of Civita and it is an up and coming neighborhood in Mission Valley. There is lots of construction going on around the area so it can get quite noisy at times. We also had a massive number of ants coming in to the apartment in the summer. We tried to resolve the issue without poisoning them but we ended up using the pest control service that Circa 37 provides. There arent playgrounds or pools for children so people with small kids might find that inconvenient.

We absolutely love everything about this apartment complex besides our extremely loud upstairs neighbors. After moving to San Diego from Boston, MA last fall, we moved site on scene to downtown (highly do NOT recommend living there). Once our 12 month lease ended, we moved to Circa 37 at the first chance we could get due to a few incredible people highly recommending it. The staff is exceptional, the layouts are incredible, the close proximity to the dog park is perfect for our pup, and the available amenities are absolutely jaw dropping (huge gym and pool lovers here - the west part gym is the spitting image of a real gym like ChuzeFitness or PF and the pool at Circa is breathtaking). My only negative? The noise from our upstairs neighbors. There is a theme with this here and it truly does sound like bowling balls being thrown onto the group upstairs. Before moving in, my husband and I actually were warned at how loud they are due to knowing someone in our building. We shrugged it off because living downtown was incredibly loud. Little did we know, we have been woken up prior to 6am (even on weekends) due to the noise level. Unfortunately, Circa is not cheap — and we pay one of the highest rents here due to a 2 bed with a pantry and an attached garage — so we expected it to be a 5 star rating here. We have been back and for communicating with the staff for over 2 months now but no resolutions.I do wish there was carpet on the 2nd and 3rd floors (we are on the 1st) and thicker walls to control the noise as this is what our 40 story building did downtown to control noise.I would STRONGLY suggest requesting a top level floor!

I wish there were more group exercise opportunities at better times. I also wish we could print in color. Lastly, I wish the leasing office opened at 8 or earlier so we could actually benefit from the “free coffee”... coffee after 9am is just almost pointless...

Ive been a resident at Circa 37 for nearly 3 years, and absolutely love it!The resort-like amenities and common ares are easily accessible and always kept clean. I absolutely love the 2 state of the art gym facilities and 3 pool areas (especially the cabanas with TVs!).The complex is central to everything, making it easy to Uber/Lyft anywhere, and has a large shopping center located next door.Community events happen on a regular basis, making it easy to meet neighbors and allowing you to take advantage of the amenities! We recently did a painting class with pets, which was very fun! The staff are extremely friendly, especially Carol, and really go out of their way to accommodate our needs.

Amazed to see all the one star reviews. Wife and I are about to renew for a second year and this is probably the nicest place weve lived in San Diego. There is often footstep noise from neighbors above but thats unavoidable in apartment living. The jerks with loud Corvettes driving in at 1AM are also not managements fault as they cant tell people what cars to own or implement a curfew. Even still, its only a few cars and shouldnt be a condemnation of the whole community.Guest parking at the moment is certainly an issue but management is apparently issuing guest passes now though I havent tried it.If you are someone that will enjoy the public amenities, maybe even get to know some of your neighbors, this is a very enjoyable family of communities. When I do have people over they often comment on how quiet it is.

Ive lived at Circa 37 for a year and Ive regretted moving here for 2/3 that time. About 4 months into my lease we had a neighbor move in upstairs who was the absolute loudest person Ive ever met. So loud that the light fixtures would rattle and the plates would clank together in my kitchen cabinets when they walked. I complained to the leasing office for over two months until finally they told me the only thing they could do for me was move me to a different apartment. So we moved. I took two days vacation at work to accommodate the landlords incompetency. When we moved, they told me theyd be charging me for the cleanup of my first unit, even though I was moving because Greystar (managent company) couldnt do anything right. I complained and took my protest all the way to Greystar Corporate before they agreed with me that charging me cleaning fees for moving was ridiculous. The new apartment is definitely quieter, but weve had appliances break four times since moving in. Once the refrigerator broke and it took them a full day to come look at it. I called the front office to tell them we had an urgent repair request with our refrigerator, and they said theyd let maintenance know right away. All our food spoiled. On top of that, we had to track down maintenance in-person to get them to come fix the fridge. The maintenance guy (super awesome guy) informed me that the front office never even notified him about the repair, which is why he didnt come first thing in the morning. Then my car got towed. Its insane how common it is for residents cars to get towed. When you move in, they ask for your license plate (presumably to keep track of which cars belong to residents). However, they dont keep record of cars, and security will have any car towed without a parking pass clearly displayed. I had left mine in my backpack when I was switching vehicles and forgot to put it on the dash. Came out next morning and the car was gone! $300 later and late to work I finally got my car. WARNING: Circa 37 has a special deal with Western Towing allowing the tow truck to park in the lot and wait for a car to park without a pass. They can immediately tow the car. No questions, no communication with security, nothing. Its frankly the most disgusting policy ever, given everyone here calls this place home and the Neanderthals in the front office are just low-paid employees. Your car is never safe. Countless residents have had their car towed because the office is two incompetent to build a simple spreadsheet to keep track of whose car is whose. The fancy property management portal is always broken. We never get communications, maintenance requests get lost in cyberspace, the online rent pay system displays the wrong amount of rent owed, they double-bill you for water/sewer/trash if youre not careful to check. Its a mess.Greystar is the worlds largest property managemy company. They have deals with several large buildings in San Diego. I was at a dog park and met a girl who works for Greystar at another building, and she said that the Circa 37 property is notorious for being the most problematic, incompetent location of all the Greystar buildings in the region. Youd think a company with a global reachto find competent talent and maintain reasinably effective software platforms and policies to have a smooth-running and positive living environment. The turnover rate here is insane. Almost no one stays longer than a year. Tons of vacancies. The reason: everyone gets dazzled by the surface, then they move in and get soured by the service. You cant put lipstick on a pig.Final advice: never move here. There are literally thousands of places to live in San Diego for the same price with all the same amenities, and much better service and quality. Were leaving this place and never looking back. Dont give them a dime of your money. Youll regret it.
