I was visiting New Star Nail & Spa for a few days and needed a quick pedicure, and they got me in on the same day I called! They followed Covid protocol, and everything was clean and organized. My nail technician was super sweet and made sure I was happy with everything from start to finish. Definitely recommend!

He cut 6 of my skin near my fingers and I did a simple manicure and they charged 70$ and my nails didn’t even come out that good

When I have them done I like shellac/gel nails over my natural nail. This time I simply wanted a French manicure for a job interview. I hate tips because they feel so fake and are often too thick. This woman gave me the perfect tips that I dont want to soak/rip them off a day later (a bad habit of mine).******

Great nail salon. We loved the way it was decorated. We got pedicures and they did a great job. I would definitely go back. Its nice to see a nail salon do something fresh, new and outside of the normal massage chairs. I called an make appointments which I would suggest doing.

I got a full set of acrylics and 3 hearts on my middle fingers. The hearts are sloppy and not well drawn. I put up with it because I’m not confrontational. When I was at the register, my nail tech charged me $48. Usually when I go there I get charged $30 for a full set. I was told that I was charged extra for long nails but my sister got the same length as me and wasn’t charged anything extra. As well as an extra $3 which wasn’t explained. The man was getting mad when I was questioning the prices so I just gave him what he wanted. I truly feel that he took advantage of me and charged me as much as possible. So just to let you guys know, make sure you know what you’re paying for and don’t let anyone take advantage of you!!

I love coming to New Star Nail & Spa! Ive been to a few nail salons around San Antonio, and this one is definitely the best! The staff are wonderful and attentive and do a great job at gel manicures. The coats are always thin and perfect. My nails never look thick and lumpy or have issues with chipping!

Eric does a fantastic job on the nails. They always come out beautiful and long lasting. He is a master in his field. Also, Cindy, who does my pedicures, makes my feet feel silky smooth! This place is very clean, friendly and they offer great services. Definitely check them out!

I don’t recommend this place at all. I’ve been here more than 5 times & i try to give it another chance every single time but i swear this is the last time i will ever come here. They always end up cutting me & the way they shape a nail is not good at all. I asked for simple square & they can’t even do that. If your looking for a nail place please save your money & go somewhere else.

Ive went about 3 times, every time the price increases for the same service. The last time I went I made an appointment at a certain time and specified that I was on a time schedule, I was told that they had openings and could help me. When I got there the manager walked past me over and over again for 30 minutes, I kept telling her I was in a rush, her employees kept going get her, and she never attempted to help me, just kept casually walking around in the shop. Eventually another man helped me since he knew I was in a rush.After not starting until 30 minutes after my appointment the manager came and tried to charge me even more after already giving me a set price.A few really nice and helpful employees there though!

Went there for the first time this Monday for an acrylic fill and will definitely be back! Super nice nail technicians, tons of options for shellac colors, great pricing, and fast, quality work. My normal spot does a good job but takes a long time to get you in and out, no problems with that here. AND theyre open until 7 so I can actually get there after my work day ends. So happy.

Ive been to other salons where the owner/manager walks around telling the manicurist to hurry up, but not at New Star. They allow their employees to take their time and do professional work. I really appreciate that. Tony is terrific! He is meticulous and my nails have never looked so beautiful!

Terrible pedicure and manicure.The lady did not give me a proper pedicure, I have dead skin on my feet and she did not scrub it or scrap it. The paint job was ok. While getting my pedicure the lady basically begged to give me a manicure because I “needed” it. So I gave in and told her ok.She rushed doing my manicure. The paint wasn’t finished, and it’s sloppy work.Wasted $43 on terrible pedicure and manicure.Will not be coming back!

The nail tech used cuticle cutters that didn’t come out of a clean package. The filing on my nails are all uneven. Polish needed 3 coats for the light color, only applied 2. Will not be back.

Its basically a hit or miss when you come here. You either get someone who does a fabulous job or someone who should probably get more training and patience. You shouldnt have to settle for a mediocre pedi thats rushed and is left to look like a mess. Probably wont be coming here again.✌🏻

I have been to this nail salon twice now, i had a great experience each time. They also helped convert me from shellac to the SNS natural nail dipping system which i absolutely adore! It was a clean, well decorated area, and the staff was very pleasant.

I love this salon they always do a great job. I have had many different techs who handle my nails and they do a good job. When I went today I had Su and she takes pride in her work. She did an amazing job and it shows. I had made the mistake of going to a different salon last week and my nails looked horrible. Decided to get them re done today since this is my normal salon and I always come out look amazing. If you want your nails done go here and ask for Su.

I’m so disappointed. I had a semi good experience while getting my pedicure. Unfortunately after I left I noticed my toenails weren’t cut straight and the polish is on about 80% of my nails. The man that did my nails was named Jimmy, super sweet but he had no attention to detail.

Owner very rude, been here couple of times till this last time she did my nails. She was so rude and spoke to her employees in there language which I figured she was talking about me.

Do not recommend. The guy cut my cuticles and spilled nail glue all over and didn’t clean it up. The shaping was uneven and he was very rude when I paid. He threw my card on the table because I asked about the student discount. When I ask for something they automatically do what they want. I asked for no fake nail and they still glued it on and still charged me extra when I specifically said I did not want it. He criticized my natural nail when I told him I didn’t want fake nail. Either way he still glued it on. I asked for shellac and made me choose a dip color. He said he recommended dip, but I wanted shellac but still did dip when I didn’t ask for it. I felt like I was forced to do what he wanted instead of what I asked for. I was very uncomfortable when he was shaping my nail and talking on the phone at the same time not knowing what he was doing. The fake nails don’t even last a week, they brake so easily and crack. Save your time and money.

Lee was very rude to me and my 12 year old daughter. I took her there for her birthday and he put the nails on longer than she wanted so I asked him to shorten them for her and he was extremely rude with his comments and being very rough with her hands. Also, if you want 5 different colors one for each finger they charge you extra for that... I have asked the workers for the owners number or email and they are being very vague about the next time she will even be around.

I have been having all my nail needs taken care of at New Star Nails for over years. I have never had a problem and highly recommend them!!

My mom and I went for pedicures a couple of weeks ago. Will never go back. The employees were not friendly at all. Never smiled. And made it very obvious that they would rather be anywhere else. Besides the fact that we both needed another pedicure within a week.

Most thorough mani pedi Ive ever received! I randomly picked this place as Im visiting from out of town, and it was fantastic! I highly recommend.

Great place. Very sweet people, I went in with a friend and they had us wait a few minutes so they could seat us together. Very efficient too, if you dont want to spend your day in here. I got both a gel mani and normal pedi and it took maybe a half hour. Oh and they let me charge my phone with one of their chargers because my phone was dying lol. All in all, great experience.

Favorite salon in San Antonio. They are professional and offer quality services. I love the signature pedicure!

Been there few times for my nails and pedi. I have no problem with them. Employees are friendly, professionalisms, and helpful. Prices are reasonable. If youre in rush, dont walk in! This is the place to have being pampered, taking time and relaxing! Excellent scenery environment and it gives you spa feeling. I would always go there since its my location. ❤💅

I will never go here again. The lady I got for my mani/pedi was listening to one of the other ladies instead of me when I told her what I wanted.(Of course what she told her was higher in price as well) And she didn’t even finish taking the gel I had previously on my nails before trying to put new gel on!!! It was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had at a nail salon.

I absolutely loved this place... My husband and i walked in at the last minute when they were literally turning off their Open sign... i told the manager we only wanted pedicures and she said it was fine so she let us stay.. even tho it was late and they were closed Ashley and Kelly took their time to do our awesome pedicures... oh and they didnt forget our glasses of wine!!! ... i will most deff come back!!! ... i live like 3 mins away and i drive by every single day, i truly regret not walking in before!!! ... This is my place now!!

The gentleman that did my mani and pedi did a horrible job. When he was doing my pedi, he cut too much off my cuticle which hurt like heck. When he did my mani, he seemed rushed. My main only lasted 3 days before it started to chip off. I know basic manicure should last at least two weeks not three days. I would not recommend Male manicurists.

Whatever you do dont get your nails done by a guy here. They do not know what theyre doing and they do not know to how to ombre nails here either. They do solar powder nails and thats all they got going for them.

Terrible!!! Waited a whole hour for someone just to help me! While others who just came in without an appointment went before me. I was not even helped with turning on the water for soaking feet. Never going back.

Got an infection when the nail tech cut me. $90 doctor bill and a weeks worth of antibiotics. Very disappointed.
