Dont worry we wont be back in your salon and we will be sure to advise others. Lots of other salons out there that want their customers to leave happy, satisfied and if not very willing to make it right at no additional cost. Dont waste your money here. My daughter went in for highlights, Lorena lightened her entire crown I guess, hard to explain. I talked to the owner to have it fixed but Ricardo wanted to charge to tone her hair which would not have fixed the problem. My daughter had already pd $260 just for highlights. Very over priced, bad service and rude owner and stylist! Customer is never right. Go to Petras Salon instead, will cost half the price and great customer service!

I found out about this salon through FB by pure chance & Im so glad that I did. The experience and the results were absolutely wonderful. Riiko was so patient with my questions. I look forward to going back to getting my nails done by her again. If you want to get your nails done by someone who is talented and creative with her designs, then book your appt. with Riiko soon!

Wonderful service! Took me without an appointment because their was a cancellation. They greet you very warmly and with a smile. The young lady was very gentle with me and took her time and explained everything she was doing.She was very informative. She did a amazing job and I was very satisfied! Yet, seven days later three of my nails have fallen off for no reason. They really are beautiful nails. Ill be going to get them checked and will keep you informed how the experience turned out. Thank you so very much. So I returned and everyone was super nice and they took me right away. They were so nice!! I definitely recommend this place. And she did a fantastic job again. Im thankful!

I have been going to Riiko since she had her small salon off Culebra Rd. At the time I had always worn acrylics but she talked me into trying gel nails from Japan (Kokoist Gel) and it wasn’t long that I began to see a difference in my nails. They no longer curled inward and the color of the nail was better. She is now in her dream Salon which features amazing nail artist a wonderful atmosphere with everyone that works there and even the clientele. Always a lot of talking and a lot of laughter. It was always a pleasure going there. Recently I had to take my nails off due to health problems, I cannot get in to keep up the maintenance of my nails which is normally every 4 weeks. I had soaked off my nails and then I was so happy that they were so healthy. Now I just make sure that I continue to oil them several times a day and they look great. I will be extremely happy when I can get my nails done again. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for fabulous nails.

Great place for a haircut thanks to Lorena!! Nail ladies pretty much keep to themselves in the back doing nails and taking care of clients while the barbers, stylists, and colorists take care of the hair. Great place to get a haircut!

I kept hearing great things about the ladies here and my co-workers nails always look for, so I decided to try it out and Im so glad I did! Everyone is so full of energy and joy there! Ive gotten my nails done here twice and I cant stop looking at them. The ladies are extremely skilled and make amazing nail designs. Its an indulgence that is totally worth it.

Never got an opportunity to try this place. I only give it 3 stars because you have to schedule an appointment weeks in advance. But based on the feedback of others who have obtained their services, it looks to be a 5 star place of business!

Tried to get my nails engagement photo ready and it was a complete failure. Cuticles were cut three times, to the point of drawing blood. Nails were left uneven and jagged. The girl who did them was nice and just not sure if the end product was due to lack of training or just rushing. I used to go here all the time about 3 years ago and loved it. Moved back to SA and they have changed their process to adding a thick coat instead of 4 or 5 thin coats and it just didn’t work or look as even. its basically the same look as acrylic now. Also the gel is much more uncomfortable now. It actually hurts and feels like someone is burning your nail bed with the thick layer versus the multiple thin layers. Nails just look thick and not natural looking at all. So disappointed.

You will not find another nail tech better than Riiko Martinez. When we moved to San Antonio in 2011, Riiko had a salon at Alamo Ranch and I was a steady customer for over 2 years. She now has a beautiful salon at Stone Oak area and I wish her only the best. She is a woman with very high work ethics and a beautiful person inside and out. I only wish her the very best. She is also very very talented in nail art.

I loved my pixie cut by Abel! Wonderful customer service and incredibly professional. It’s so hard to find salons who have expertise with pixies (I’m very particular with my pixie) so nothing but the best will do... I’m a loyal customer now!

The service and vibe at La Salon Riiko is absolutely amazing! The minute you walk in the door, everyone is greeting you and is very welcoming. Every time I get my nails done here, its always a FANTASTIC job, whether its just one color or with a design. La Salon Riiko never fails! I dont plan to get my nails done anywhere else!

I have been coming to this nail salon for 5 months and love everything and everyone. Riiko is the owner, consistently pleasant, professional, and is incredible at nail art performing simple designs to very intricate work. Yori is always pleasant and professional (both Riiko and Yori are from Japan). Appointment are needed because they are very busy and have quite a client following. They specialize in gel nails you cant get anywhere else. This gel is much stronger and completely safe for the nails. No chemicals are used ever to remove the gel. The gel lasts a minimum of 2 weeks, 3 weeks for most and some customers have kept it on for 6 weeks. This is a high end salon without the high end prices. I am paying the same at this salon for services that I paid at my previous salon for a french manicure. If youre looking for dazzle and intricate work, you will be paying a higher fee depending on what is done exactly. While receiving service, you will be offered a beverage. Choices include bottled water, soda, wine, beer, or specialty cocktails they make for the customers. This is a wonderful salon and I highly recommend their services.

You’ve heard the saying: the customer is always right. Well, that is definitely NOT the case if you go to La Salon Riiko! I have been a loyal customer for over two years! Not! Anymore! I not once ever complained about the minor issues that arose while I frequented the salon (i.e. waiting for close to 45 minutes to an hour to be seen, improper and rash training for new technicians while nails burned.)As a loyal customer, I have referred many a clients to the salon but having been verbally yelled at by the owner, Ricardo Martinez, for an issue that he clearly could not apologize for, I walked away. R. Martinez clearly does not know anything about customer service as he berated me outside his own establishment. The issue: he claimed that I was messing with them over a text regarding my appointment. His receptionist wrote 1 for my appointment when my appointment was for 11:30am. I have an android, she uses an Apple iPhone, and the discrepancy was technical. R. Martinez said I was ‘difficult’ as I took the high road and walked away. It was apparent he has a temper and made me very uncomfortable as he continued to make this an issue.BEWARE! Don’t waste your time and money at this salon! Salons are place for relaxation and tranquility. . .you won’t find it here!

I like this place! I am usually very careful with who I choose to do my pedicures but Ive been here 3 times now& they do pretty well! Although the last lady I had cut my toe pretty bad, she did keep attending to it.Overall, its a clean& comfortable nail spa!

Had a botched inverted bob corrected here, choosing the location at random and out of frustration. The master stylist was precise, personable and knew his s***. It was the end of the day and he fit me in anyway and didnt rush and seemed to sincerely enjoy his art. Highly recommended for hair.

I am extremely picky with nail techniques, brush strokes, and even staff services (I even feel bad that Im like this sometimes!) when it comes to nail salons. But I have never ever been disspointed with La Salon Riikos services and the quality of the nail designs. They are very professional; they listen to my request very carefully; but most importantly, they really care about sanatization around the nail stations. I cannot express how satisfied I am with my experiences every time I visit La Salon Riiko Nail and Hair studio. Some may consider it pricey, but they know exactly what they are doing and its worth every penny if you want the BEST service and BEST nails!!!!

I wanted to get gel nails and they put tips on me. I asked for gel and they put artificial glue on tips on me the service was terrible. My nails lasted 2 weeks and they were all coming off the product wasnt sealed on the sides. Doesnt anyone sculpture nails anymore. What has this world became in the nail industry. I even had to soak my feet in sink bowl and water got cold. The Salt scrub burned my skin. I would never return or even think about going back. Lets see how long they stay in business.

Service was excellent! I went in to wax my eyebrows and wound up getting a haircut and style. I was holding off then decided why not.

I too was a customer of almost 2 yrs with appointments every month. Twinkle (see review below) is my niece and she introduced me to LSR. I enjoyed my experience here for about the first year. But then some things changed and made me start to feel like it was not the place for me anymore. Like others have mentioned the delay in time 45min-1hr with no call was an issue, but I still stayed and I did talk to Riiko about this issue. I know you can’t control all variables and I liked the product. I even changed my appointment times to week night evenings to help me personally deal with the issues related to time.Then the issue arose that if you don’t do nail art, like myself, you could not make an appointment with the nail tech you like. At one appointment I asked that my next appointment be made with Iori because of her ability to do my one color nail job quickly. I was told that my appointment was scheduled with Iori. Time is essential to me due to working 50 hrs a week and having a young daughter at home. When I arrived for my next appt I was passed onto a new nail tech named Zophia. She was new and was not able to do a very good job. The nails were bumpy, very thick gel and not all the same shape. I was given a discount 2x by Riiko due to the known need to improve her workmanship. I actually really like Zophia but feel that for the prices of LSR she needed more training. The third time this happened to me the nails were better but just not worth $60. So I decided I needed to move on.The owner, Ricardo has asked other reviewers why they didn’t discuss the issue directly with him before moving on. For me the reason is that I didn’t think it would make a difference. If you read his replies to other reviewers he demonstrates his character clearly.He is right about one thing, I will get over it and move on. Thank you for the times that I did enjoy. Iori is the best and I wish her love, peace and joy!

The Staff is very friendly.. They do a great job with the art work.

I was going here for about two years, every 3-4 weeks. They are busy, and appointments are normally booked out far in advance. That said, when I have an appointment that I booked a month in advance and leave work early for, I expect to be seen at that time. That has not been the case. For the last few months they are always running behind. I understand 10-15 minutes, but it would be at least an hour. If you are that far behind, give your customers a phone call and let them know to arrive later. This not only meant I wasted time waiting for them to see me, but that my appointment would run an extra hour late, ruining any plans I had made afterwards. For whatever reason, all of the nails techs started leaving, and newbies came in. I have no issue working with someone new, but this meant they would take forever to figure out how to do my nails, turning it into a two hour process. This means the day I normally look forward (Nail day!) is a three hours time suck that I cant plan anything afterwards as who knows when it will finish.I finally chose to take my money and time elsewhere. I booked an appointment with Asiana Nails, who upon arrival to my appointment sat me directly with my nail tech, and he was finished in 30 minutes. No, It is not the special gel that La Salon Riiko uses, nor did he offer the level of talent with designs, but it took me 30 minutes to get done, my nails looked fantastic, have lasted three weeks, did not have to burn under UV lights (the gel Riikos uses HURTS!), and costs half the price.
