I bought a 3080 from an online retailer. The fans were not spinning when i installed it. I didnt want to send the card back without knowing 100% it was an issue with the card. Unfortunately, i didnt have another case to troubleshoot the card. I called Steves Computer Repair and they were able to see me. They had the equipment to help trouble shoot the card. I had a MacBook with a damaged screen. The screen was unavailable from Apple and no one manufactures screens for this particular model. Solving this problem was not some plug and play quickie fix because the model was out of production, there weren’t many produced, and you needed to figure out the exact screen needed. Steve’s PC Repair was able to find the exact replacement screen and professionally completed the repair. They are my go to place for computer repairs, especially when the manufacturer can’t solve your problem and the big box places give a funny look and say they don’t work on “that kind of problem” or talk “economic feasibility” when the going gets tough.

Honestly I never have used Steves Computer repair but I have seen him do a huge favor for an artist I follow. Steve doesnt know the artist personally but I assume he follows him also and saw he needed someone to help him out. Steve went above and beyond for a man that had no weight on Steves personal life. He went above and beyond for a stranger a stranger who really needed an angel at that very moment. His struggles were much bigger than what Steve did but the fact that Steve did this at this very moment for this man may have saved his life, we will never know. As small a gesture it was to Steve it was bigger than the world to the other man. If I could give 1,000 stars I would. My son completed his first build but was met with an insurmountable obstacle he couldn’t solve. We walked in, he spent much time with us, and diagnosed the problem. Most shops would just take the machine, give you a claim ticket, and tell you they will call in a couple of weeks. I had a slow, clogged PC, Steve was able to remove unneeded apps, upgrade my hard drive & take care of some virus issues. A month later, Steve was able to quickly respond to a couple of further PC questions I had.Steve offers honest work at a fair price. Hes my guy for any future computer repairs.

A friend recommended this repair shop. I admit I’m not computer savvy, but since I had a screen issue for my laptop I figured it wouldn’t be too difficult to understand. I called, and asked when I could come by. I came in for a quote, which was offered as a free service.I was told that they closed at 18:00. I stopped by 11/2 and dropped my laptop around 17:00. I had talked on the phone with Steve, but a different employee was there, and said that either 11/3 or 11/4 I should expect a phone call, and if I were to authorize repairs, I would receive my fixed laptop 11/9.11/4, I didn’t receive a phone call. I decided to wait until 11/5 just in case. When I called, which I made sure was during their advertised open hours, I received a voicemail which stated they were only open during 10-12:00. I didn’t receive any form of update, however I didn’t leave a voicemail when I called them. This is my mistake and one I won’t make again.I received both a call, and a text, on 11/9, with the details of what was wrong with my laptop and the quote for repair. I hadn’t expected the repair to be so far out of my budget and requested to pick up my laptop, when I was informed the only hours I would be able to do so we’re between 10-12:00.I don’t have the luxury of staying at home and these hours conflicted with my schedule, and Steve told me that I could pick up my laptop on a Saturday between 10-12:00. I also work Saturdays, and elected to call in my shift on 11/10.Had I known the only time I would’ve been able to come in were between those hours, I would not have chosen to bring my laptop to this repair shop, because it conflicts with my personal schedule. I also would’ve appreciated any kind of update before a full week had passed, but I acknowledge I didn’t initiate that conversation for a reminder.I am of the belief that Steve’s Computer Repair has the capability and skill of performing various types of repair, and I’m sure that they’ve done marvelous work in the past. For me, and my personal situation, it did not work with my schedule. I am very grateful they were open during this pandemic, and complied with COVID regulations.

I broke my Mac Book Pro trying to replace the rubber feet on the base. This was basic repair so I thought. I ended up ripping out the monitor wires while trying to remove the feet. I bought a new refurbished screen and tried to install it myself. I could not get it to work so I found Steves Computer Repair. I took my laptop to Steve to have it repaired. He called me letting me know the screen connector was damaged and could not be repaired. I paid for the initial diagnoses and he told me to get another screen and he would install it and discount the amount of money I had already paid. I purchased another screen and took it to him. It did not work so this means I caused more damage than I thought. He didnt charge me as he said they didnt perform any repairs on my laptop. The customer service and honesty that Steve provided me is hard to find these days. I recommend Steves Computer Repair to anyone with high confidence that he will take great care of you and your computer.

Steve is an awesome guy! I recently returned to San Antonio from Austin and forgot to pack my power cable for my PC along. After explaining my issue he generously offered a free cord and thanked me for my service (Military). Back in January, I found myself with a corrupt external hard drive that had at some point overridden the Photos file I had in my storage. Which meant that all of my photos - photos of my children, my baby photos I had scanned, vacation photos, wedding photos, etc. etc. - were potentially gone forever. I tried Geek Squad at Best Buy and, not only were they not confident they would be able to retrieve the photos, they were going to charge me over $3000 just for the attempt. I went to Google and chose to work with Steve based on his stellar reviews. He was honest with me that it wasnt guaranteed that he could recover them but his price tag was much less. He maintained communication with me throughout the entire process, letting me know when ordered parts were expected in and how things were progressing. I cant describe the overwhelming sense of relief when I got the call from Steve that he had been able to recover my data and that I could come grab those precious family memories whenever I was ready. Thankful for such a great experience and will absolutely head to Steve again with any future issues.

Discovered Steve by accident at his, then, smaller shop when my laptop took a fall back in 2017. After several attempts of contacting different computer repair shops, Steve was the only one that seemed to be available. He was very courteous and informative about his work and made sure everything was fixed as well as how I wanted it. He gave me detailed updates and it was fixed within days. Fast forward to 2020, long story short, I now have 2 laptops, both with new SSDs with Windows 10, fixed by Steve and his tech, Rolando. I read some of the reviews, and all reviews that I read were very positive. So, I decided to take my desktop computer to Steves shop. Steve was very helpful and knowledgeable about the description I gave him on the troubles I was experiencing with my computer. Steve informed me that he would take a look at my computer and let me know if it was repairable or not. Steve called me back with a diagnosis and an estimate of the repair costs. Steve saved me a fortune! Due to all the recent Covid stuff I have to work from home. I have a custom built PC that I NEED for work. Rolando greeted me when I walked in and was empathetic as I described the problems I was experiencing with my desktop build. After turning on the computer at the front desk with me present, Rolando was able to give me a estimate for the repair cost and said it would be ready later that same afternoon. I spent a total of 8 minutes dropping off my desktop and talking about my problems with Rolando. I was able to do this during my lunch break which was really convenient and demonstrates this company’s high level of respect for their customers’ time. I call Steve later that afternoon to verify if the desktop was ready for pick up. Steve answers the phone and confirms it was ready. I drive down to the shop to pick up the desktop. Upon arrival, I find my desktop and accessories waiting for me at the front desk. I didn’t even have to wait for them to bring out my desktop from the back work area. Again, these guys really respected my time and were very expedient. Rolando rings up my repair invoice which was exactly what he had estimated earlier that afternoon. Rolando was even able to explain the problem that had occurred in my PC and showed me an example of what he did to fix the problem. I really appreciated how he took the time to explain the issue that was giving me trouble. Microsoft and ASRock tech support were not NEARLY as helpful as Rolando and Steve. I will go here for my future computer repair needs. If you go anywhere else I think you would be wasting your time. Rolando and Steve are the best!

THESE PEOPLE ARE LIFESAVERS! First, I had a damaged USB/flash drive and they were able to save all the data on it and transfer to another USB. Then, I had an external hard drive from an old desktop with very important data stored on it that was damaged. They were able to save everything. This was after going to 4 other places and being told there was no hope for the data OR they wanted $$$$. Steve was reasonable, him and his staff are so awesome. I swear by these guys. A Custom Home Builder recommended Steves Computer Repair after Steve completely fixed and updated his computer system. The builder raved about how good and knowledgeable Steve is with computers. Based on his recommendation, my daughter had her computer worked on and was very satisfied with the results. About two weeks ago, I thought I might have been infected with a virus on my laptop. Within hours, Steve checked for any type of viruses or malware etc.. In addition, he removed all the unnecessary programs that are loaded when you buy a computer. As a result, Im satisfied with the knowledge that my laptop is not infected and with his recommendations of updates, it runs so much faster it seems like new. Outstanding customer service and excellent work

So i recently moved to Reno and i had Steve build me a PC before and he does amazing work! I had him build me another but in shipping it got banged up and it burnt out within an hour of use BUT he went out of his way and beyond to actually help me! Now the PC is running amazing! Steve is amazing and wonderful! He is a magic worker for sure! Thanks a lot Steve!

This shop is one of those really nice finds. Steve gave great advice about replacing an ailing hard disk drive with a solid state drive. He installed it and made sure the drive was successfully cloned. This shop is now my go-to place.
