The most understanding and amazing apartments ever . Not only does the maintenance do there job ASAP but they get it done. Appreciate the apartment management.
Management does not care about its residents at all. Managements reply to this and said that they care about their residents. Management reply to my original statement regarding care of its residents did not state how I was told if I did not like how the new neighbors above me are stomping and knocking things off my wall as well as shaking my ceiling fan. To leave. I have been a resident of this conflict for many years. Ive never bothered anybody and always pay my rent on time. To be told you can be released of your lease and told to leave rather than you are a good resident we would like you to stay. On top of that when I try to simply state. I dont want anybody evicted I simply want to be able to get some sleep like anybody else without having unbelievable stomping from neighbors directly above me. Thats why I stay they dont care about their residents. Ive complained to the police of complaining to the security and nothing has changed. I get no peace. If I could give them zero Stars instead of one I would. They truly dont care
DO NOT waste your money on this place. Management is absolutely terrible! I had to call after hours emergency service for a clogged toilet that was over flowing everywhere. While appreciate her sending someone, he did not arrive until almost 11 pm at night and was clearly intoxicated. He did not ever get the toilet unclogged and someone else came the next morning and unclogged it in less than 10 minutes! Yesterday morning I woke up to find my AC not cooling. I called the after hours emergency service and spoke to 2 women who told me they would be contacting the property manager Loli. Never heard anything so I called again, at this point it was almost 90 degrees in my apartment. This time I was told no one would be coming out to look at my AC because its not considered an emergency. HOW IS A CLOGGED TOILET AN EMERGENCY BUT MY AC NOT WORKING IN 102 DEGREE WEATHER AND WE ARE IN A HEAT ADVISORY IS NOT! Mind you i have a 7 year old and it was almost 90 degrees inside. I went this morning to speak to the property manager and make sure someone will be going to look at it. She was rude (as she always is!) Of course this is not the first issues Ive had with management. I will be contacting a legal team, the city, and the BBB, this is not okay!! When Leslie was management I had ZERO issues. Tbh I don’t remember reviewing this place 3 years ago (2017) but the maintenance and management team has definitely improved over the years (so I came back to update my one star) and the property manager is gorgeous so that’s a plus lol
Where you go when you need something fast and you’re out of options! But that’s only if they decide to answer the phone. I got behind on my rent and they can’t even give me an exact eviction date so I can scramble and get the money on time! Going back and forth between the 5th and 9th as if my living situation is something to be played with! Now I have to pay an extra $95 in late fees! Im sure this was done on purpose to get more out of me! Claims I didn’t communicate with the office causing panic questions and concerns in my household when my roommate went up there to speak with them about the eviction even though she has my number and email and oh SHE KNOWS WHERE I LIVE a notice could’ve been posted on my door with whatever questions or concerns she may have had and on top of that I had already spoke to Laly in emails with exact dates and amounts that would be paid. Expected me to give a call when I made my payments. I’m a single mother that works all day everyday and their phone goes unanswered or returned. Had questions about an amount my roommate had paid and couldn’t even give me an answer. Constantly goes over my head and gives him calls when I’m the primary lease holder. Terrible ant infestation. Plumbing issues. No laundry mat. Parking is terrible as well. Glad to see I’m not the only one having issues! With that being said TERRIBLE on their part issues need to be resolved! On the other had nice neighbors and cozy apartment (many little maintenance things here and there but are livable. I’d have to say there are plenty options out there nicer with the same price or even cheaper).
Very bad administration are rude workers in these apartments also to live here is very expensive for everything they put surcharges and if you need any maintenance you have to pay to do something else but the neighbors of this property scratch the cars a lot My car is well scratched and beaten and I was not really like that. I do not recommend coming here to live here anymore with the new administration that is because the one before Leslie was fine but today it is not a quiet place but there is no good administration (no I recommend if I could put 0 stars I would do it but you cant)
I’ve lived in 6 different apartments and this is hands down the best apartment I’ve lived in. The office staff (especially Leslie) is super awesome and helpful. Any maintenance issues are always handled quickly and done right the first time. The other residents are all very polite. The cherry on top is the great location. Everything you need is within walking distance. 10/10 would recommend.
If you have Another Choice please go with it. Drugs around Constantly. My place has be Broken into Twice. If you have a Maintenance Problem your best bet is to do it yourself. Roaches live here like they pay rent. Do not let those photos Fool you. A Terrible place to live and I had to get Cameras in my place. They said the came in Several times but looking at my Camera it was a Lie. I cant even get in touch with The Owner. So Court it is.
Leslie is phenomenal! I’m aware that this property is under new management as of a few months ago so if I were you I would disregard prior reviews to that If they’re bad.She went above and beyond to making sure I was satisfied and made me feel right at home. Extremely kind and stellar personality!!!
I came to look at these apartments the lady did not great or make eye contact whatsoever! She was very rude and didn’t offer a pamphlet or any info. She just said they don’t have anything available. I mean seriously if your going to have a job where you deal with people learn some people skills! Absolutely ridiculous!!!
I have been here 5yrs and there has been a lot of positive changes especially since the New Management has taken over. Chelsea in the Front Office is a Awesome Beautiful Lady and shows care and concern for us residents. She goes above and beyond. Hallelujah for the better maintenance staff, they on point and a great pleasure to look at which make service rendered more enjoyable. I recommend living here if your looking for a place.
I originally wrote a review praising this place with 5 stars because I was asked to do it by management and I did because they owe me a refund. To date almost a month I have not received my money and now they have made 3 unexplained deductions and when I asked what they are for I get an email in Spanish which I do not or never have spoken I only speak English. I had to just file an Attorney General consumer complaint and a Bette Business complaint. I do not give this apartment complex 5 stars not even 1 star and didnt when I first did the review I just wanted my money back. Nothing below this comment I wrote about this place is true and it wont let me delete the original post or remove all the stars. You will see 1 star I had to leave it just to post this comment but I dont even give this place 1 star
This is my first apartment that I have ever lived in and I usually dont do reviews but I had to for this one because I highly recommend this place. Leslie was very helpful and proactive at the front desk along with the rest of the staff for getting on top of things when needed and staying on the task with outstanding customer service. I had a very minimal problem and they were able to jump on things as soon as possible. I havent ran into any issues other issues since(which was a small crack in the windshield). The neighborhood is quiet and local to many stores and schools.
Disgusting place the laundry center doesnt work half the time and the water is always being cut off. DO NOT LIVE HERE IT IS AWFUL.
Would give zero stars If I could awful place to live for what youre paying for its not worth it. They cant even get a decent laundromat. The workers are even worse and cause electric shortages. Please take your rent money elsewhere this is not it.
I lived here for 15 months its a nice place to live. Alot of the apartment are getting remodeled with this new management company that came in and there very on the ball with all the up keep and maintenance. The property manager Lesley is very nice wish we could have stayed but I couldnt pass on what I got so if you need a place look here.

Really good apartments, really sad to be moving it’s a good area as well but the manager is super helpful and will work with you same as maintenance, I was having trouble with my refrigerator and they came the next day and fixed it fast. Highly recommend these apartments ❤️
The worst place Ive ever lived. It is like a ghetto. No one cares and management is useless. Repairs were never followed up from day one I moved in. A couple of weeks on vacation and I come back to find the entire apartment full of mold. Parking is a disaster. I come at night from work and have to park all the way in the back in a pit dark alley praying I can make it to my apt up in the front without getting raped. The place is deplorable, management should be fired or the city should close down the complex. Bookkeeping cannot keep up with paperwork, to the point where they made me pay twice my deposit even though I show proof of having paid. The utilities were from $40 to $50 or even more at times when I wasnt even home for that month. The San Antonio health Department should inspect and review the license for running this place. It is a disgrace.
I am very pleased with our new office manager Lacey! She is very professional as well as personable. Also I must say the new maintenance person, Richard is also very professional, personable and takes pride in his work!

I see the apartments and the look out was something sad, the apartment showed me inside looked very good and very comfortable. I did the lease to move on May 8 because the apartment was still in the process of repairs and cleaning. When I move i take a surprise. The walls were freshly painted but the apartment had some things damaged what needed to repair. In the kitchen the sink its broken the water is lost, one of the plug does not work, the dishwasher does not work and has no fan stove.The kitchen cabinet have cockroaches. The bathroom sink is broken the water is lost. In the master bedroom ceiling painting drop constantly and light not working properly. In the balcony there are the bees honeycomb. The carpet smells like animal urine especially in the bedroom master. Obviously there was an animal and not washed properly carpet. The air in the apartment was not working properly. I made a written a letter saying everything and they said they would solve. Only fixed the air, so they did nothing. The latin female employees told me that the rest was not important and that the employee could take to repair the apartments had a lot of work. I wonder how it can not be important when it is assumed that this apartment fully able and repaired when delivered. I have a month living here and Im sorry we chose this place.
DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT LIVING HERE. At one point the toilet flooded the whole apartment and it took them HOURS to come and help. And when they did they just looked at it, and left. Didnt fix the problem even though we told them several times about it. Them they ripped up the carpet in the bedroom and just put the top of it back on. Also been without ac since January/February. They dont fix anything. Texas in August without ac? Are you kidding me? They also took out closet doors and said theyd be replaced in a few days. Never got them. The pool is closed a lot of the time; just because theyre too lazy to come open it. Theres been a leak in the master bath again except its in the tub. Its been getting worse and worse and now its messing with the hot water. They have been notified but they continue to do nothing. They try and squeeze any extra money out of you wherever they can. Worst apartments ever!
Weve been living here for about a month now. The apartments are older and have their quirks; the windows are single-pane, the drawers, doors and floors are gently worn, but the apartment was freshly painted with a neutral color palette and very clean when we moved in. The apartment is a nice place to live, but the real winner is the staff! Amber went the extra mile to help us get moved in while we were stuck out of the state, and maintenance is really on top of things. In other places, getting something fixed seems to require divine intervention, but Hillside Canyon has an online maintenance ticket system that makes putting in a work order very simple. I had to request a work order on our master bathroom at 1 am once, and the issue was fixed by 8 am the same day. Jason is wonderful! We are very pleased to live here!
Maintenance is horrible, the manager doesn’t want to do her job, the office phone never gets answered you have to find the property manager the cabinets has bugs it smells like mold and the toilets floods and it’s impossible to get in contact with the owner

I have nothing against this place on a personal level neccesarily, they just need to fix my bfs water heater. This is a reoccuring thing apparently. Its already done this a few times, someone fixes it, then a day or 2 later, it happens again. Sigh* come on. Whatever is being done is not doing the trick so TRY ANOTHER METHOD PLEASE!!! Having a warm shower would be nice once in a while guys. 😑
When I first came here the service was OK had some problems sorry a lot problems. I stayed in the apartment they cant flooding every time it rains and they never fixed my issue they move me to the front I had mildew and mold in my apartment the parking is horrible the new manager she is very horrible I went in there and ask can I hang my American flag she said nothey do not care about US military or veterans. And when I move out I got my last bill their water bill is ridiculous for a month they said I owe $300 of a water bill they lie on their bill.
The new management has been super awesome. Get stuff done fast, and Ive never had any problems with unfair fees and the like.
Management is wonderful, very friendly. Made the process easy and made us feel very welcomed.
Lived in the apartments since the change,the renovations are nice, never had anything but a good experience with the staff or management, always fixes our appliances,gives us notices on any upcoming events, up to code on things, the mailboxes could use some work though:)

Place is the worst cheap rent you get what you pay for mold in units maintence does not remove mold just paints over. Leslie plays innocent do not trust get everything in writing if you get on Leslies bad side she will hold a personal grudge rent is never accurate sometimes have to get multiple money orders rent is do 1rst 2nd or 3rd but leslie is hardly in office to collect rent
Im honestly had nothing but the best experience from the time I met ms. Chelsea in the office, shes so nice and very relatable, she made sure I had everything I needed and was very patient. The maintenence Guy is Awesome, Ive never had a problem getting them fix anything, he always comes right away, and hes also great to look at!😉 if your looking for a great community, great neighbors and staff. I recommend HillsideCanyon
These apartments so trashy!! Dont dare to live here, roach infested...maintenence isnt worth a crap. If something breaks you better fix it yourself. An every new tenant I see moving in is so ghetto. Which probably explains the roach issues happening. These apartments need to be torn down. Not to mention the car break ins ect, such a same because this is a good side of town.

Apartments themselves are in terrible shape. You get what you pay for... Another new manager just took over so well see how things go. Mostly its because theyre old and not taken care of at all. Also, the residents suck. Sad but true. Nobody cares.Things you want to know good and bad:1. Dog crap everywhere, nobody cleans up after and mgmnt doesnt do anything about it. No lie, it actually smells outside...everywhere.2. Foundation and flooding are a real problem.3. Most of the people that live here are really trashy. Balconies are gross and broken down/rusted cars are normal.4. Its hard to find grass as the whole property is either mud or rocks filled with dog crap.5. My wife refuses to go outside at night for good reason. Weve been here since August and have seen the cops at least 10 times and had 2 assaults that I know of.If I managed this place Id quit as I think this place is pretty much helpless. I feel sorry for management bc no matter how hard they try this place is not where you want your family especially if you have kids.I feel sorry for the current management team bc this place has been neglected for so long that they pretty much dont stand a chance unless they kick all of the trash out. Its hard to maintain a community if your tenents are disgustingand dont care. Thats why 3 stars and not 1. Management seems to be trying now so hopefully things change around here.
This place is awful - i moved there because it was affordable -but no one picks up their dog poop it smells, there is the smell of weed everywhere and roaches too. the complex is so old that the AC is still on the ceiling and no one know how to properly fix them which makes your CPS bill crazy high. when i was there a woman in the building across form me (and the building face each other and you share a walkway) was on some sort of drugs came down throwing rock was naked and started to cut herself that was the last straw for me - i WAS OUT! Most of the people there ended up being on housing at the complex which dint surprise me after about 4 months of being there .Just try to stay away if you are not wanting to be around that caliber of people, AND before everyone gets offended - because you are on housing - dont act like 75% of people who are housing and act trashy and maybe the options of people receiving assistance will change! . The nice thing about freedom of speech is i can say what i want and have all the opinions i want. i saw and i lived there so that is what i take about the caliber of people that remain at the complex. also no fault to the office they would hear my complaints and they tried but some people are just bad and dont really care. The maintenance people did what they could and came quick this at least was a plus living there.
Filled with ghetto people, maintenance was lacking, they couldnt hold an office manager for more than 3 months at a time, the buildings have very bad foundation issues (uneven floors and ceilings, and the door ways adjusted multiple times), they shut off the water without letting the tenants know beforehand (poor communication all the way around), gnats were always in the apartment, no matter what was done to keep them out, bathroom tub began leaking at the end of our residency, cats EVERYWHERE (dont get me wrong, i love cats, but my car couldnt go one day after a wash without cat prints on it), multiple break-ins and robberies going on throughout all the complex, the air conditioning doesnt work when its over 90 outside -it even states that in the lease!- (Our compressor liked to freeze into a giant block of ice and then melt onto the panel in the hall, which caused enough water damage to leak on the floor. We had a bucket in the middle of our hallway to catch the falling ice so we wouldnt step on it for the last month and a half of our residency cause maintenance didnt do anything to fix it), the kitchen light wouldnt turn on half the time, and so, so, so, much more. It was mine and my boyfriends first apartment, and we learned a lot from this complex, so if you wanna go through TREMENDOUS amounts of stress and anxiety all the time, be my guest, but Id prefer you didnt. Super glad to be out of there.
This is like not that far from my moms . like down the street she lives in a subdivision . eden. I m considering here.
The residents are what make Hillside Canyon a great place to live.
I have lived here since 2015 because i didnt have a choice and had to renew my lease but it is by far the worst apartment complex and worst property management company kgreystar) i have ever had to deal with!!! Hands down!!! See my review on yelp too where i go over my individual story! We really should all start a support group for people abused by this complex and their management staff!
