For over a month, Ive been in contact with countless different employees trying to get trash and recycling cans delivered. The first time they went to the property, they took pictures of the neighbors cans and said they delivered them. After calling them and confronting them, they said theyd deliver the cans within the week. After the cans were NOT delivered again, we called again and were told theyd be delivered within a few days. That didnt get done then either. After another series of phone calls, they finally delivered a can. It was the yard waste bin I told them several times NOT to deliver as I have landscapers that service the units. Now theyre telling me after all this time that they dont have the inventory of garbage and recycling cans and that Ill have to wait ANOTHER WEEK after the bins were supposed to be delivered today. COVID affected a lot of companies due to staffing shortages, but the horror that is their quality of service is something that transcends and precedes this. Unfortunately, there is a monopoly of garbage companies in the area that does not allow for competition. Each company has its zones, much like gangs controlling different areas of town.

This is a very shady company. I moved out of my house, cancelled service and paid my final bill. I thought that was the end of it. Well they allowed the person still living in the home to reenstate service in MY NAME. This went on for 5 months until I received a random invoice one day. I called and explained the situation and they confirmed I did cancel in February and here they are still billing me for August. Thankfully the person was actually making payments but I still wanted my account closed. I mean hello, I would liable for whatever could happen. So they reconcile the account and move all the payments to a new account and Im left with a $180 bill for the entire time period. Then they call me and say, Im sorry our accounting department wont approve a credit. Absolute rubbish! Apparently they expected me to call back AGAIN just to make sure my account was actually closed, after I already called. Horrible company, thankfully I live in a different service area now but I feel for the people dealing with them regularly.

I feel for the staff who try their best to be pleasant on the phone. I have been trying to get a dumpster removed from the property for the last 26 days. So far, the dumpster with the stinky waste still sits on the property. I have called six times and and spoke to CS personnel every time. By the way, I fully paid them 26 days ago, 2 days before the first scheduled pick up. Not once did I get a call back. Obviously, they warrant less than 2 stars. It is obvious the management has issues to address.

I moved 2 weeks ago and have had the hardest time setting up my new service. I’ve spent hours on phone talking to so many different people! After many phone calls, I called customer care yesterday and talked to Ashley. She argued with me that they can’t help me because I’m not in their service area...all my new neighbors have Republic Service cans! So frustrating! I see from their reviews I’m not the only frustrated customer!

Republic services has not delivered containers for garbage services as scheduled per appointment request and following required payment of services. Customer service was called multiple times with each representative giving a different answer to my issue without any resolution. Each time representative claims that messages were escalated to local division and that a return call would be made to resolve the issue. However, no calls have been returned and we have yet to receive our containers, although Republic Services has taken our payment.We have dealt with other garbage disposal companies in the past and have never encounter with such poor service and lack of communication. If we had a choice on which garbage disposal company we could go with, we definitely NOT use Republic Services.

I would give 0 stars if i could. They once overcharged me over 300 dollars and refused to refund it in any other way than a credit even though i was moving out of their service range... I did everything i could to avoid living in their service range to avoid their company and now that Im beholden to them again its the same bs. Telling me i havent paid when i have the recepts on my end. Ive had other trash companies, but never these problems. Republic is garbage trash service.

Every Wednesday our two-year-old son looks forward to running outside with our nanny and watching the Republic Services trucks come by. One special driver in particular always makes a point to make it special for our son and honks the horn as they leave. A few weeks ago, this special driver (Shane) stopped his truck and gave our son a toy Republic Services truck. I cannot express how excited he was about this truck. He played with it for two days straight and it is still his go-to truck. The kindness of Shane for going out of his way to make this happen made an impact on our sons life and made an impact on ours as well.Republic Services of Salem Oregon please give Shane our thanks and know that you have a special driver.

UPDATE: I guess I’ll update here since calling gets absolutely no where. Just received an automated call about a past due notice even though my bins were FINALLY picked up and low and behold they switched the balance due from no bins being returned to attempted pick up charge. I have spoken with numerous people over the months stating there was no record of the bins ever even being attempted to be picked up until they were finally picked up. Do not use this service! I have no idea how a company like this is in business.The absolute worst experience I have ever had with any business in my life! We bought a house and moved out of our rental middle of March. I was instructed to leave my bins out and they would be picked up. A month later I received a bill for $300 saying that I didn’t return my bins. I called my old landlord and she stated they were out for three weeks and never picked up. Since then, I have schedule 3 pick ups and they have never been picked up! I am now receiving past due calls and no one will help us out. They will not allow us to return the bins to the office due to COVID but they are also refusing to pick them up. If they are not picked up today, I will be calling BBB. Republic has record of all of my phone calls and will not make it right!! My old landlord already has new tenants so this is a mess for all parties involved.

Worst garbage service I’ve ever had. Always changing pick up days or just not pick up at all. No notice of change either. Only pick up recycle every two weeks? Why not every week?Sad part is there’s no choices where I live. Worst customer service I have ever experienced! For 5 weeks after the snow/ice storm in February, our trash was not picked up. I called multiple times and was told they would schedule a missed pick up but that didnt happen either. I sent a letter along with the monthly invoice (they are still charging us, even though they didnt perform their service), the letter was ignored. I have called and talked to 4 different people who said they would look into it and call me back within 15-20 min, within 2 hours, by the end of the day, etc. No one has ever called me back. One of them claimed that since the missed pick ups were storm related (for FIVE WEEKS???) that I am still responsible for paying for the service. The last person said they would look into crediting me for half, since I had called for missed pick ups that didnt happen but again, he hasnt gotten back to me. Unfortunately, Republic Services is the only company that services our area. Im thinking about cancelling service and taking the trash to the dump ourselves every week.

Sadly, Republic Services is the only option for Salem, making them a pricey monopoly thanks to the county. We get the minimum service offered, and often skip weeks- we just dont make that must waste. Ive been a customer for about 5 years and had different problems with different stages. When I moved three years ago, my account was messed up and I wasnt charged for two years, then retroactively charged (not for the full amount, luckily!) even after reaching out multiple times. Okay fine. I tried to work with someone on the trucks that back up twice a week both to the church kiddy-corner from my home and the entire length of the ally next to my bedroom window to service Boys and Girls Club. In the summer sometimes its as early as 4:30am. A backing up dump truck is both unsafe for early commuters and loud (beep beep beep). I emailed a couple times, was ignored, called, eventually got ahold of someone (through a one star review on their website) who explained that there were tree branches that made the driver have to back down the ally. My neighbor removed those branches a year ago and the trucks still back down, I think they might be avoiding turning around? Not sure but it still feels reckless and un-neighborly. Overall I dont see the agility or courtesy that I would like from a company I am forced to use.

Immediately confronted them, they say they didn’t do it. Called their office and filed a complaint. The supervisor came out and said they couldn’t have done it.Their insurance said without proof it’s my word against their word. I have a ding in my nice car they will not fix. Let me know if this happens to you also, I will continue to pursue this until they fix my car.

My garbage can was not fully emptied; there were still two bags of trash that were wedged in the bottom of the can due to compacted styrofoam. I called and reported this and Republic Services gave me two options: Pay a $20 fee to have them send another truck out next day, or wait until next week’s pick up and be charged an extra $5 per bag of trash that wouldn’t fit in my can. I’m beyond disappointed.

Ordered a 64 gal container and had to wait a week to get it. The next week they took my 32 gal and replaced it with the same size. Called to get it rectified. Found out they also had the wrong day as my delivery service. Second week no 64 gal container and was told it would be brought on a day that wasnt my pick up day. Employee tried to tell me i was wrong about my pick up day. Yet when my neighbors address is checked its the correct pick up day. Why would I be the only person in my neighborhood with a different pick up day. Makes as much sense as having my garbage can replaced with the exact same size. I was finally transfered to someone who fixed it (I hope). Now I wont get the container for another week meanwhile being charged for a bigger container for three weeks. Which means Im going to have to call in again when I get the bill and argue that I was charged for something I did not receive.UPDATE:JUST GOT MY BIGGER GARBAGE CONTAINER A MONTH LATER. ORDERED A SECOND RECYCLING BIN. IT DIDNT GET DELIVERED!! SERIOUSLY??!! WHAT IS THIS COMPANYS ISSUE WITH CONSISTENTLY BEING UNABLE TO PROVIDE PROPER CUSTOMER SERVICE??!! When you dont have to call customer service this trash company is alright ish, I dont like the $40 cost for picking up 8 trash bags in a 2 month cycle.Whenever Ive had to call customer service its always an ordeal that takes multiple calls because of all the misinformation, and they arent consistent from department to department. Been lied to about not being allowed to speak to a supervisor. Just feel lied to and really mistrust thier customer service reps in general.Wish we had a different company for our trash zone. This is only my second house, but never had to deal with my last trash company like this one.

I truly dont understand how this company stays in business. The customer service is poor, there is no communication and if you have a problem its ignored. I even had one of the drivers have an actual throw stuff on the ground, kick the tire fit because he dumped recycles on the ground. Didnt pick them up either. If there was another service for competition RS would have to step up their game.I also think that during a natural disaster such as the fires its pitiful to charge extra (except for one additional bag) when garbage was not picked up the previous week.I

All of our cans were removed when a person not authorized or even living in the resident called to have them removed. When we called the company said the cans should not have been taken away. They said we wouldnt get the cans brought back for a week. This during a hot summer week was not okay. The garbage started stinking. We called three times asking for a supervisor to call to get the cans back earlier but a supervisor didnt call us back. Two of the customer service staff made a note to move up the date for the cans to be brought back to no avail. I dont like writing negative reviews but I want to let others know of the lack of quality of service.

I typically drop off a Sharps container, pay and get a new one. The office is closed and they will not email me back about what I should do with a full container. Customer service didnt know what to do. I can go online and do the mail order route, but I still have a full container I dont know what to do with. Frustrating.

My family rented a dumpster from Republic Services, but we had to go through five phone calls the day that it was supposed to be dropped off that they were dropping it off that night, when we had believed it would be there that morning. We were also told we would have the dumpster till Saturday, but they didnt come to pick it up, and we couldnt call since it was the weekend. On Monday we finally were able to call, and they said we had to schedule a pickup. When we schedule through them to have a dumpster from Tuesday to Saturday, we did not expect Tuesday night to Monday.

Republic Services has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. It is unfortunate when a company can remain successful and continue to provide bad service. They clearly have a monopoly in this industry for the Downtown Salem area. My issue is that in the last month the trash has been completely missed for my whole street twice and I have had to call them to come back out and pick it up. My recycling bin was also stollen and they want to charge my account to get a new one. I politely asked the customer service rep for a credit to my monthly service foe the inconvenience of missed trash/recycling pick up on two occasions. Here response was simply we dont do that I asked if she could just put in a request to their management to consider a credit of $10 for the extra payment they are requiring me to pay for a new bin that was stollen. She said Sir I am not going to do that There is clearly ZERO interest in providing a great service to their customers and I sincerely wish there were other options so I could give my money to a company who actually cares about customer service.Republic Services, please take note that you really need to come together and pay attention to the reviews you have, as a business owner myself, it is certainly at a level that I would be embarrassed about. You can do better.

Never had a good experience with this company up to and including canceling my service during the pandemic while I was unemployed and without an income. Difficult setting up services, overcharging, not getting bins delivered in time for the weekly pick up, all are issues Ive had and theyve always done the bare minimum to assist. Gonna be taking my trash to the dump myself from here on out.

Asked to exchange for a lockable 1.5 yard dumpster and signed all paperwork given. Two weeks later no delivery no calls. When I call back 3 times was given different answers every time. Ask local company to return my call but no call back. Very frustrated and escalated to the supervisor level was not helpful in any way. Local office is close to the public due to the pandemic so can’t even resolve the problem in person. How difficulty is It to return a call when a customer requested one? If there is a 0 star I would give that rating.

My garbage cans were delivered with a wheel falling off. When I called two weeks later they tried to blame and charge me. I’ve had missed pickups with no communication and inaccurate communication about coming back out. Glass recycling has broken glass in my driveway and not bothered to clean it up.I’d say don’t give them your business but you probably don’t have a choice.

This has got to be the most incompetent company I have ever had to work with.I am doing some remodeling at my house and needed a three yard container to contain demo material. It was $56 for a week and they would come out at the end of the week and pick it up and empty it. It sounded like a fair deal to me. So I paid and they delivered it out to my house. No problems.Unfortunately it filled up quickly and so I needed to schedule them to come out and pick it up, empty it and return it. For this service I prepaid them another $56. We scheduled my pick up for the day after Christmas. I was told that shouldn’t be a problem. I tried for Christmas Eve, but it was too late to schedule it that early.So on Wednesday I called because they never picked it up. They explained that it had actually been scheduled for Christmas and they don’t pick up on Christmas. It had been rescheduled for Thursday. I then explained that I would need the container longer than one week. They explained that it costs $60 per month to have the container. I said that would be fine and asked them to move the date of my final pick up out a few weeks, but I still needed them to pick up it and empty it and bring it back. I was upset and explained to them that I had people working today and they would need somewhere to dump all the demo’ed material. They never picked up the container on Wednesday. They never picked up the container on Thursday. They finally picked up the container on Friday, but they never brought it back. I now still have a large pile of garbage behind my house and no container. At this point I’m going to just rent a truck and take it to the dump myself.I am writing this while I have been on the phone for over an hour and a half trying to get my $56 back because they never performed the extra pickup. I have called them roughly 7 times. Spoken with their escalation department twice. Other than the first call to schedule the delivery of the container, no one at Republic Services has actually helped me. In fact they denied my request for the $56 credit once because the service was scheduled for Christmas and they don’t refund charges for days they don’t work?So, I now have a final response from their escalation department. There is an additional $30 delivery fee for the container that I wasn’t told about originally when I ordered the container. They are going to send me a final statement in two to three weeks that will show a $26.85 credit. That is my $56.85 charge refunded minus the $30 delivery fee for the container.I believe they are going to mail me a check or maybe credit my card? I don’t actually know, but it will take them at least two to three weeks. I suspect at this point it will be longer.It is a small amount of money. However, I have never worked with a company that has poorer communication, poorer customer service, or poorer policies in place to resolve problems. Republic Services is the absolute worst without actually being criminal. Do not do business with them beyond just having them pick up your trash, and I’m sorry if you have to work with them at all.

Service is pretty good. Problem we have had is that they have monopoly in my area so no competition for them to keep the price down. City of Salem gives different companies a monopoly each have a certain section of town they service. Even if you are a big company you have no opportunity to try to get cheaper service from another company servicing Salem.

We just moved, its been a month. Throughout this time every single week we have had to call because they dont come on scheduled day. WE call and they tell us that they will come next day. One week they said two days after and just last week we where told pick up would be monday when our schedule day is Thursday. Monday came and no pick. Here I am on Tuesday and havent seen them yet.

Finally call and get set up, good luck finding a phone number. Brought the containers a day late, no service for a week. Sure this is only the beginning of a dumpster fire of a relationship.

Our recycling is frequently missed, as well as our neighbors cans. Having missed us again this past week, we called - they said theyd be out in 2 days - and of course missed us AGAIN. Called THREE more times, were given 2 additional days for pick-up, and failed to come by twice more! Honestly, I dont know what level of ineptitude a company has to rise to, but this is simply inexcusable. I should mention they often leave our empty containers sitting out in the road. For this, we have seen our rates rise twice now in under 3 years.

Had to call 6 times to establish service. Customer service are complete idiots, there is clearly no training at this company. Its still not clear to me which containers are picked up & when. The schedule on the website is near useless. Im just guessing at this point. Sometimes they pick up the containers, and sometimes not. Thank God my employer lets me use their dumpster to alleviate some of the pressure.

Well Better hope never have rent a dumpster from them. Gave me one wouldnt fit, spent 45 mins on phone passed to 3 people having re-explain each time only to be told the rep has wait for operations people to pickup the phone or respond by email to get an answer of why they didnt deliver right one and if they can even fix it.Update: they gave me 2 smaller ones to equal the one i wanted after hours me calling them about it and on top of it all they damaged my driveway on delivery and pickup. Worst garbage company ever had.

We have had nothing but problems with this company since we started our service, the only reason we still have them is they are the only garbage company that services our area. long review but please read: I cant possibly list every problem Ive had with this company however here are a few, when we first moved into our new home we called and scheduled service ahead of time I confirmed ahead of time and yet the service never happened we called and it took MONTHS to get them to bring us a bin and start service! fast forward to when we ordered a yard debris large bin for a TEMP backyard remodel, the bin was dropped off on the street blocking our driveway when we repeatedly asked for it to have been placed elsewhere, we called to have in moved dumped and brought back in the originally requested spot, days later it was picked up just to be re dropped off in the same spot as before! once it was full we called to have it picked up and was told (after waiting 25 minutes on hold) that the order was put in wrong and I would have to wait on hold again at least another 25-30 minutes because it was marked as Permanent and not temporary! Im currently still waiting to have this picked up again Ive NEVER had a worse company to deal with EVER!

Wish I could give you lower than 1 star. I spent a week trying to get you to pick up my recycle. Every time I was told that someone would come pick it up company guarantee by next business day. Then finally on Friday, I called at 845 in the morning and was told a manager would call me back. I waited til 2 pm and called back since I realize most managers leave early on Friday. I was told they were all in meetings until 4pm. Then I waited until 455 and guess what... no managers left to talk to. Your customer service people are so nice and great to talk to but they have no power to help and if your managers are too busy to deal with customers than you dont deserve to have them!

They are too large. Right hand doesnt know what the left is doing. Cant talk to anyone local. Had a number of problems. Most recently, it took four phone calls to get upgraded to a larger can. After a month of promising they would be delivered that week each week, someone finally told me that they were out of them, but would be getting a shipment in.

They have a habit of not completely emptying their cans and then the next week I get charged extra charges for loaded cans. Every fan in the cityhad a loud night completely closed. Cant believe they charge for open kids. They are rude on the phone and have a tough luck attitude. But with no competition they can do whatever they want.

I have called multiple times to just get service and have had multiple incounters with rude and fully incompetent employees. Absolutely worst service ever. Our yard debris is scheduled to be picked up every week on Monday. In 4 months, it has only been picked up 5 times. Everytime I call to complain they say a supervisor will call. Several days later someone calls but it is never a supervisor and when I ask for one they say one will call, cycle continues. They always schedule a missed pick up appointment when they dont come on Monday but the missed appt pick up only happens half the time. I am very displeased with the way their company functions.

Save your time and go with anybody else! We started service for our business and each month the bill was different, one month they were charging us for a 65 gallon cart and the next they were charging for a 35 gallon(which is what we had). We decided to end service, they failed to pick up their garbage cans 3 weeks in a row and are now charging us for them! ($75 each!) It makes no sense that they can come pick up the garbage weekly, but cant find our garbage cans all of a sudden?! Stay far away from Republic Services!!

Worst company ever! Have had my trash picked up twice in the last 2 months and have called 8 times. Even got in contact with division and he just made it worse and he doesnt return phone calls. There is no consistency with this company and due to the monopolized of Salem trash companies there is no other option.

Worst service ever, in the past 5 weeks they dumped my garbage once, talk to customer service to try to get it resolved no luck one person even hung up on me. Leave a note on the can for drive still doesnt pick it up. Absolutely terrible!!?

I honestly dont expect much from western customer service these days, and this company is no exception. I order service about a week before moving into my new residence, I received no confirmations or response emails. Nor did i have any containers for waste or recycling on arrival. So I put in another order, still no response, and another week goes by, they dont drop off my containers. I CALL this time, they claim its all set...yet, ANOTHER week goes by, and I dont see any containers. I finally let them know of the local statues which they are in violation of, and they lazily respond with telling me a week from that day ill receive my containers.Then two days after that email, i get a bill, claiming that ive received service for almost a month. Yeah right, im not paying that. Idk what momos you are used to dealing with out here, but im not the one, and corporations WILL bow to their superiors, the consumers.

This company is a joke. They know they are the only option for many communities and they take full advantage of it. They can add a $9.25 charge for the lid being open even the slightest bit and you have no option but to pay. Scandalous.

I been waiting my Recycle Bin for almost 7 weeks and Ive been calling customer service every 2 weeks and they just tell me im in the waiting list to get one, so finally they send a sustitución bin for recycle until I get my own, and that day the truck pick up my garbage & recycle and it didnt take my recycle, and at last they are charging me the full service without taking my recycle ;(

Kim from the arizona call center was awful and no help.They took my can last week, called to pay the 85 I owe and Kim tried to sign me up with new service for $195. I have one bag of trash per week Ill find somewhere else to throw it I guess. Lol

This place is hideous. I put my trash in the trunk of my sedan and drive it to the dump myself. That way I dont have to deal with rude people and overcharged.

These guys cannot get it together. Their billing cycle is confusing. They took my cans over a $32.00 mistake on the bill and then were extremely rude and acted like I wasnt going to pay. Absolutely unacceptable.

Recycling day: missed pickup. Called in to have a pickup scheduled for the next day. They canceled it without telling me so I was left wondering when it would be picked up. All mystery surrounding their 1.7 Star rating (at the time of writing) has disappeared.

The people on the phones are nice, but that is literally the only redeeming thing I’ve experienced with this company. I had to call 5 times until they delivered my garbage cans (2 weeks late) and now i come home from work only to find that they took them!!! This was the first time they picked up my cans. They didn’t leave a note/call/email.
