They were super quick and responsive. we were super sick and our son forgot to put the yard debri out instead of the garbage. they were so quick to come back around and pick up the garbage; was so thankful for this; because who wants to sit and wait for another week of garbage pill up. I, like many others wish there were another option for trash pick-up in Salem. The service was fine for the first year and a half that my wife and I owned our home. Then, around April of this year, we started having problems with the service. At first, it was just the recycle driver randomly refusing to pick up the can, claiming that it was contaminated, but recently its become worse. Now, they wont even pick up the trash.My wife usually pays the Pacific Sanitation bill, but she spaced it off in August. Last Friday was pick-up day and the driver didnt pick up the can. As soon as I realized it (about 11:15 am,) I called and was informed that our service had been suspended for non-payment. Thats when the employees started lying to me. First, I was told that there had been a voicemail left on my phone about the service, but Pacific Sanitation had never called me. I checked my call log. Then, they said that a letter had been mailed to us but, not so much.So, whatever, I paid what they said was owed and was told the driver would pick up our trash that day. Around 3:30 pm, the trash hadnt been picked up, so I called the office again. I was told that all of the drivers had gone home for the day, but they claimed to have picked up my trash. I informed the person on the phone that no, the trash hadnt been picked up. Then I was told that they would pick the trash up today, Monday 6 September. Now, its Labor Day, but according to their service calendar, its a normal pick-up day.I waited until 2:45pm before checking and my trash still hadnt been picked up, neither had recycle. So I called the office and got a voicemail, of course. Now, its a little after 3 in the afternoon, and they still havent picked up the trash, so Im sure it wont be done today, either. Seems like I may just have to dump it on the front step of the office to get them to pick up. Good thing I drive a pick-up. Two weeks of trash in the can is starting to get ripe and Id hate to have to stink up a car...I guess laziness and dishonesty are what pass for customer service at Pacific Sanitation these days.
The manager and patty and Tina are so bad with customers hate there service I wish I had a different garbage company I can go through hate there service they make u feel like your money is not worth it and acuse u off calling every week maybe if they were nicer this would not happen this was in my can it’s not mine and the manager did not care all I ask was what can I do about it ..,..
I wish there were other options. On multiple occasions the drivers have left full recycling bins at the curb. Most recently, they left the glass bin.. I carefully went through it and it only contained glass wine bottles, a lidless pickle jar and a liquor bottle. No caps or other contaminants. When I called I was told they would pick it up at the next recycle pickup. So essentially, I paid for service I didnt get. They also charged us a $16 fee because our recycle was contaminated with plastic bags without any evidence of this contamination. I know for a fact I have never put a plastic bag in the recycling, I am well aware they are not recyclable. Additionally, the drivers have proven theyll simply leave the bin if they see something they dont want. This all suggests the contamination fee is a scam to make more money.I will give them two stars instead of one because one time I called the person was very helpful. The second time I called the customer service person had no answers and did not offer an off date pickup.Unfortunately, they have a monopoly on the area so poor reviews mean little. I did find that the recycling center is Kaiser takes all the same products for FREE. This will be my next stop if Pacific continues their contamination fee shenanigans.
Inconsistent pickup of garbage and recycling. Adds extra charges for things without providing explanation or proof. Doesnt return calls. VP is a snake and liar. Blames our community for the problem rather than make improvements. Harassed a member of our community who offered to takeover our trash pickup rather than use Pacific Sanitation.
I wish I could give them a zero-star review, unfortunately, I can’t! They have the worse customer service you can imagine! I just believe I should have more options of garbage company in the area and then we could a better service and customer service because they would take care of their customers.
This place sucks, they didn’t take recycling from my house and many others in my neighborhood because it was apparently contaminated. I’m learning that they are super picky about what kind of cardboard and plastics go in the recycling bin. I wish there was someway I could get service from a different company.
Newest fee driven scam is to charge $15 twice a month for trash found in the recycling bin without having to prove it was even there. They used to have one employee who tried to tag us an overage fee every week! Before I moved out to an area serviced by Pacific Sanitation, I had a good provider. Miserable to know the difference and be unable to do anything. If they had a lower rating, Id give it.
Ive never had a problem with Pacific Sanitation, always professional. The grumblers who complain need to worry about THEMSELVES and how they are recycling, reusing, wasting. I see a lot of abuse in how things are discarded. I suppose well have to find another planet to live on after living like pigs here on earth. Thank you Pacific Sanitation for all that you do.
My very first experience started out with a HUGE mistake on their part that was going to cost me a lot more money!!! I immediately assumed it would continue to be a really bad experience but the way that Tina, Debbie and Carson have worked to make sure that I am a happy customer has been quite a joy. Thank you to the whole team for being so accessible through this process. Youve made this so much easier.

This place sucks. If you ever get them be extra careful what you put in your recycling. I had a plastic bag and a CARDBOARD pizza box in there with a slice of leftover pizza and the driver got out of his truck went through our container and denied to pick it up because of that. This place is worthless. If you have other options, go with them
Goes right by my blue garbage can and I took a video but claims that he couldn’t pick it up due to trash being in it. No, you clearly drove right past it and never stopped. I liked the younger driver he was excellent...this new driver not so much!!

I wish I could give a zero star . I have been with this company(By no choice of mine since they are the only service in my area) for over 13 years! I have paid my bill every month without hesitation. I have forgot to pay it twice once 10 years ago and once 5 years ago, then just recently. . I called to see if they would waive the extremely high late fee(which is almost 50% of my bill!!!) and was told I only get 1 waive for a LIFETIME!!!! Which Ive used. I asked if she can ask the manager because I am a loyal customer. She did and still would not waive this. I feel this is such horrible customer service. Also feel this should be illegal as I dont get a choice of who I get and the extremely high rate! Totally disappointed.
I was reading the review about PS cheating on payments. So not true for us, I had a mistake on my bank auto pay so was paying way too much, but had not noticed. They called offered to send me refund check, I decided to just use the service and leave the large credit. They worked great on keeping me up to date on credit balance. They are for us a no worry service they come on time every week and take garbage, recycle.
The driver in this route is very lazy if he see’s that the can is very full he will not take it it’s happened several times so this is the worst driver and it’s making Pacific’s look real bad plus the street is a mess because he is lazy and doesn’t do his job well very unprofessional
We have had the service for almost a year now and we have found Pacific Sanitation to be a great company. Our driver gets out of his truck to pick trash up off the ground when it blows from the truck.. Wow he is awesome. In Molalla they slam your cans around and could care less if trash makes it in the truck.
Horrible company but they get away with it because nobody else services the area. It why they are rude and can just fine you whenever they want. We got a fine for the recycle can being contaminated, funny thing is guy gets out and looks in can then dumped it. I didn’t force him to dump it. Could have left it in the can where it was to begin with. Thought it was illegal to have monopolies. Oh didn’t mention we set out 2 recycle bins so they are making even more money if this house than the next. Garbage handles garbage I guess. After returning this dumpster we have, will be just taking my trash to the county dump and let them get the money.
We paid our bill on time. Next payment was due in 2 weeks. Due to a bank error, the payment was made early. We did a stop payment on that and Pacific Sanitation discontinued our service, even though the payment was not yet due. Paid their exorbitant fees and the $35 that was due in 2 weeks. Was told that wed been credited for a pickup. EXCEPT THAT THEY TOOK MY GARBAGE CANS TODAY! Our bill is paid in FULL and they took our cans. Really? Come on, Pac San.Dont bother trying to call them, theyre even less helpful when you get them on the phone. If I could leave less than 1 star, I would. Turner, Oregon needs some other options for trash removal because Pacific Sanitation sucks.
They never notified the apartment manager that the recycle was contaminated. They just assumed the manager would figure it out on their own. It has been over a month.. (Edit: year later still having same problem)

We always pay our bill on time, but apparently they recently changed their system and this resulted in our garbage not being picked up. Despite calling to clear up this issue, they have still not come to pick up the garbage.
They keep raising fees to extortionate levels even though they are providing less and less service. Customer service is terrible, but they have a monopoly on the area and they certainly know this and act accordingly.
Worst billing practices ever. The receptionists are always rude and completely unhelpful and sound excessively snotty. I wish there was a way to give negative stars. Bill monthly like a normal company....asshats. You can’t even figure out how to spell my first name. I’ve corrected the receptionists multiple times. Now I know why most of my neighbors deal with their own trash rather than use your service...if you want to call it that.

2 weeks in a row my garbage hasnt been picked up.called my landlord to make sure he was paid up and he is. Very unreliable. Sparatic schedule. But you know their a monopoly in Salem so unless Salem does like a class action thing or the city changes its service company things wont get resolved. Or fill up the loose space in their garbage cans with water before putting it out XD jk dont do that.
After several years, not once but twice, these folks know the word CHEAT !!! And if there were any OTHER company, id use the other company ! They tell u ONE thing, then switch it to thier will. I paid early one month and my check paid the fellas bill who was ahead of me alphabetically! but when it came to my bill ?? i had to pay AGAIN ! If u have any way of avoiding these folks, its the PLAGUE ! Too bad we are held hostage by practices of this company.
Its a shame when you can have a choice of 10 different ketchups. But when it comes to garbage service there is only one. Work on your customer service pacifier sanitation.

Id say this company is average/fair.They pick up garbage, but their timing is not very consistent. My biggest pet peeve is that they dont have a website or the methods of payment your typical company provides these days. This company is running business the same way they did in the 1960s. Time to update!!!
We had $0 due. Automatic payment from our bank account paid $45, a payment we stopped because we owed nothing. They have now ceased my service until we pay the $45 plus a $15 reinstatement fee. What?!? We OWED YOU NOTHING. Shame on you, Pacific Sanitation.
