I lived here for almost 2 years. The first 6 months were fantastic! No bugs, quiet neighbors, parking was not a problem, the pool was great, maintenance was responsive and the staff was friendly. Literally at the 6 month mark after signing a 12 month lease, domestic violence situations were occurring in the 2 bedroom behind my 1 bedroom unit. The violence would occur in both the apartment and the street and would echo so loud since the complex is in a really quiet spot. The situation was not only disturbing because it was loud, but because people including children were being hurt. After 6 months these particular people were evicted and replaced with more noisy neighbors, not only in that apartment but in most of the 2 bedrooms on that side. The 1 bedroom units master bedroom is backed up to those units, so there was no chance of getting a decent night of sleep. This is when things started getting really bad. An aggressive roach infestation broke out, some neighbors found termites in their cabinets, people started parking in the fire zones and blocking exits and entrances without being towed, fights were breaking out over the assigned parking spaces for the 2 bedrooms, there was a lady who used to sit outside and make sounds that were like she was coughing up a lung and spitting it out at all hours of the day and night on a daily basis, the water was constantly turning brown because of pipes bursting, the amount of domestic violence situations increased in the 2 bedroom units, flood lights were installed around the complex without amber caps so it was like having a spotlight pointed directly into the bedroom, the walls are so thin that you could hear a whole conversation from your next-door neighbors even though they were speaking at a normal volume, and the overall comfort and safety felt in the first 6 months was completely gone. The 2 stars I gave are for that initial 6 month time period and because Shelby was an amazing manager when she was there, and Bob was an amazing maintenance guy. Both worked extremely hard, were friendly, and would even show up in the middle of the night for any after hours calls be it maintenance or other complaints. Im not sure what happened, but the place went down hill fast. Not only that, but other reviews about the move out and pretty much whole deposits being taken are accurate. My place was cleaner than when I moved in when I moved out and yet I got less than a third of my deposit back. The only thing I didnt clean out was the oven, which had normal usage and could have been easily cleaned with some barkeepers friend. I still have pics of how clean it was and will likely post them along with the charges from the cleaning company that I was mailed, which by the way are no where in the lease. Im okay with using the deposit for move out cleans as long as it is justifiable, which it wasnt in this case. The only mandatory charge is the carpet cleaning, which is in the lease, but marking my place as requiring a medium deep clean was ridiculous as the pics show and also no where in the lease. The costs of a light, medium, and heavy clean should also be present in the lease to know what youre going to pay. Again, I would have been fine with it had I known up front. Overall, It may be cheap and you might have a decent couple of months here, but I would recommend looking elsewhere and saving yourself the headache.
Ive lived here for 10 years. The best is when theres a manager that cares. Ive seen a lot of them in 10 years. One even saved my life in 2012, by convincing me to go and see about my health. Seeing that I didnt look like myself she called an ambulance for me and she even checked on my apartment while I was in the hospital.Ive had very serious problems inside the apartment all surrounding water for what ever reason. First kitchen sink got backed up ruining the entire kitchen and walls, counter tops, rugs and furniture. There was a leak coming from the upstairs bathroom tub causing practically the entire ceiling to fall down. The head maintenance guy was on vacation so I had to WAIT for my ceiling to be fixed even though the plumber fixed the leak on the day of the leak. I thought that they should have gotten someone else to fix the ceiling so I didnt have to live with my entire ceiling missing in the bathroom. The upstairs water heater leaked I notified them, but again they didnt think it was important enough to call the resident who was at work and didnt know about the leaking water heater so they could enter their apartment. Meanwhile they had to cut off the electricity to half of my apartment because of water leaking into my light fixtures and walls.Things like that could definitely improve.
I lived there almost five years in a one bedroom then moved into a two bedroom. The office staff and maintenance are great people. The place is close to everything. I miss the ducklings in the gully that was outside my apt every year. If i ever move back to California, i wont hesitate to come back to this complex.
Have been living here almost a year and a half, I love it. The maintenance is always available and punctual. The office staff are amazing and friendly. If you have any problems the staff do everything in their power to correct the situation. I plan on being here as long as I can.
Love it here!! Location is near everything and the staff is amazing. Ive been here for a year and any issues I had the office deals with immediately.
**Update***They will take most of your deposit for things like re-touch painting and cleaning the carpet. No matter how much you clean before you leave. Even having a “pre-inspection” before turning in the keys :-(I have lived here for almost 5 months. I havent had any problems so far. Staff is very professional and they seem to be on top of everything. They came immediately after I reported I needed something fixed in my apartment. Also they were extremely flexible and willing to work with me coming from out of state.I love how close it is to everything. The only thing I wish was different would be for some areas and neighbors to be cleaner but I guess its decent for the price I pay.
CHEAP!! I lived here while attending Sac State, it wasnt a perfect experience. They didt have garbage disposals in the 1 bedrooms back then and they didnt allow pets. I cant imagine how loud it is now, the walls were very thin and the ceiling between units even thinner. You can hear everything, you can smell everything too. Defrosting fridge upstairs made a puddle below, through the light fixture no less. I jumped in the pool once, got an ear infection like that *snap*. Of course, this was back when Jim and Evelyn Wright ran the place, theyve retired to Oregon. They had so much trouble keeping tenants, one even moved in above the office and moved out the next day at dawn. I cant imagine how much better it could be now. I did stay there 4 years, the rent for my 450 sq. footer went from $410 to $600 a month in that time. Really, that was cheap. Even $900 today is cheap unless youve just migrated to Cali from Mississippi or Arkansas.
Nice apartments, management are great all the way to maintenance. Would recommend for a single or family, Ive enjoyed my living here.
Nice building but ive been getting bites on my body and these small beetles quickly jump from my body after biting. Its only day 3 and Im having problems. I read it might be fleas.
The office staff is amazing! They get me help when anything goes wrong! Whether it be to replace appliances, or having one of the repair men come help me fix paint that is chipping in the apartment.Lately there have been a ton of kids who started living here. The noise level has gotten to be a bit to much... And just today someone keyed my car.
I like it here.. Its so close to everything. Although the manager and I have had our ups and downs, I go in the office and talk to her. Sometimes we bump heads, but I think its because were both stubborn. I appreciate her and the assistant manager. I have made many friends. I sit on my porch & even the new tenants that live behind me in my section always walk by and talk to me. We always great eachother with Good morning or Good Afternoon, and have a good day.
Not a great part of town. A bit run down
I lived here 6 years ago and just returned I have mostly positive things to say.
Quiet... Nice people
Neighbors noisy, the office is unprofessional, the place is practically built to condemn, and poor bob they work him to death. If I could give it a 0 star i would. DONT LIVE HERE!!!There are mice, cockroaches, and spiders
They raise the rent with out warning in a short few months til they force you out
Professional staff, friendly, conveniently located.
Complex is very noisy and management refuses to do anything about it
