This is my 2nd time at this restaurant and the food just gets better and better each time! I really appreciate the social distancing effort and pur servers were all masked up so that gave me peace of mind!I had the Cubano sandwich and I think its one of the best sandwiches Ive ever had in my life! Get it with the roasted broccolini and it takes it to another level!We also ordered the chips and smoked onion crack dip for an appetiser! WOW was the only thing I could say!Dont miss this place! Cant wait for our next visit!❤

What we received was a very high quality meal with well prepared and savory ingredients with an excellent presentation. From salad to dessert, I couldnt have asked for a better meal. Through the dinner, the staff was simply outstanding! They were very attentive, courteous, unobtrusive, and quick.

Five of European business colleagues visited and took the seafood tower along with a beautiful Galician wine. Our waitress was very enthusiastic a real gem and made the whole experience a fantastic memory. The seafood was delicious and we shared the famous chocolate cake which is a must but easily enough for five people. must try

Fun time good food and great staff

Food and drinks were great and service was prompt. I was visiting from out of town and it looks like its a fun time in the summer when the doors open up to the outside. Would go again.

The seating is not conducive to privacy but the food and service is great.

Although there were events happening in every room, we felt like we were the only thing going on. Managers Bernie, Glen and Julie bent over backwards to accommodate our prep, set up and event. Our bartender Misty was super. Jan managed the contract details in advance. Gorgeous venue, superior food and everything done with a smile.

Giovannis is one of the best places in town to order a gourmet Italian meal. The banquet facilities are also out of this world. Great place! The staff is very attentive and I have never left disappointed. The seafood was delicious and we shared the famous chocolate cake which is a must but easily enough for five people.

Company Christmas party had a wonderful time wonderful food and overall great experience. Very nice place! Excellent staff. My first vist to this location.

Oh my God. This place is amazing!!!My wedding had 350 people and this was the best venue. Every guest had a blast!The employees here were the best. Honest and accommodating. I recommend this venue to everyone!

I came here for my 30th Birthday, Woohoo! They were accommodating. Food was delicious. I got the same thing I did the first time I came here, which is the Lobster Alfredo. The noodles took me by surprise the first time around they are ink dyed black, good amount of lobster in there too. I will be back, probably for my boyfriend’s birthday.

Great tasting, unique toppings oven brick pizza!I would definitely eat here again when Im back in the area.

I asked to turn the heat up a little bit, and an older Italian guy with a dirty white tank top came out and yelled at me about touching the thermostat, asking “do you pay any bills here?”The authenticity is amazing. I will be going back

Went to a conference first time in a while since Ive been here. the last 3 times previously food was lukewarm and vegetables tough. tonight everything was stupendous ! food hot veggies not only cooked right but was so delicious. service was amazing dessert was outstanding ! youve renewed my faith in you again! thank you for a fantastic meal!

Attended this convention center for a a veterans day meal. The staff was great and super attentive. The facility was clean and temperature inside was nice and cozy. Enjoyed the dinner that night and the stage for speakers was well light and all microphones/speakers for sound system worked well.

Food was good. Beginning of service was not. We must have came in during a shift change as we were ignored after our initial drink order for nearly an hour. The gal that took over was professional and polished, whereas the original bartender was distracted and rushed. Both ladies were busy, but one carried the load much more eloquently.

Great home town owners, staff, and great food. Recommend to all visitors. Not a lame chain restaurant.

Sensations used to gig there miss those times best band in Rockford

My company does a gathering here every year. The meeting rooms are really nice. The food is hit or miss. Sometimes you get a really tasty item but the food is cold. Ive had chocolate eclairs which were completely frozen - which means they just take them out of the bag and not prepare them fresh.

I am extremely disappointed with Giovannis. My brother recently passed away unexpectedly. My parents trusted Giovannis to provide good food and service for the dinner after the funeral, The food that was served was low quality at best. Many people commented on how they couldnt chew the beef, and overall the amount paid was ridiculous for what was provided. I feel they were taken advantage of during a terrible time. I would NEVER go back. My parents contacted them, and they were given a gift certificate for Alchemy for $100. They have no interest in going back there and this was no where near what should have been given.

They will never be a “Legacy”!! Their food is overpriced. I ordered their steak and it had no flavor to it. I also ordered an old fashioned, got the bill and the drink was $30. Such a dishonest way to do business. I’ll never eat at this place ever again. I ordered a steak, one side, one drink and one dessert, for one person and the bill was $114. Totally not worth it. Plus their music is to loud and there’s no cell service in the restaurant, I was in there with 4 other people and 2 of us have Verizon and none of us could access the internet on our phones while we were in there. Go somewhere else and If you do decide to go there make sure you double check their shady prices.

Visited for the survivors of breast cancer get together a that swedish American hospital sponsored in the past. This important event has either moved or ???? Too bad. Great place for a convention type get together .

Wow - what a disappointment. Went to Big Als last night to celebrate a birthday. From the first wait person to the second (not sure what happened to the first guy...), I felt like we were treated like lepers. The waitress was inattentive to say the least. Waited about 20 minutes for 2 beers- no apology, no nothing to explain the delay. Took a ridiculously long time to get the food. The fries served were fairly cold, lobster roll was not good- in fact gave me a major stomach ache. When you pay $19.50 for a very small sandwich and some potato chips, you would hope for superior taste and WAY better service. Have been to Alchemy before and had way better service. Big Als wasnt even busy so there was NO excuse for the poor service! (Big Als and Alchemy have the same menu). I will say the pizza was good, so I will give them a point for that.

Class reunion everything was amazing

The music was great. The food was good, but the service was horrible. The young lady that was our server started out great, but as the night went on she hardly if not at all, come to our table to see what we needed. Our plates were left at our table after we ate, and our empty glasses were just piling up at our table. I noticed all she did was talk to the bartender, a couple at a table close to the bar. A lot of people had to go to the bar to get their drinks. We asked twice for our tab, but she didnt come over until about the time the band was quitting or the night. We didnt want to stay that long. Dont think we will be coming anytime soon. Maybe never. Sorry. We have been treated better there before, but not this time.

It was ok! Went for a band that was playing live. Couldnt really dance how I wanted due to the fact seems as if girls were drunk bumping into you on purpose to get a reaction from you. That happened twice. The only reaction that was given to me was jealousy and hating for no reason. Didnt say excuse me or anything. No worker gave me a menu or asked how I was. Looks nice, hard to walk threw when crowded. Overall experience was alright. Band played 2 songs after they said that was the last song, I enjoyed that!

We went to a celebration event hosted by a friend. The banquet hall was beautiful and spacious. The host was able to select a date of their choice.

They had a nice and classy banquet hall and services. Catering and the help were great!

Nice conference center and facilities. Some furnishings need updating, such as chairs. However, they often pull together very nice events. Wait staff are good; could improve the wait staffs training to proactively ask if conference/event attendees need anything. Have been at events and wait staff walk by without asking if there is anything you need or if you need assistance. Many do not smile or look happy to be there.

Legacy has a 40 oz 45 day dry aged porterhouse. Angel was a great server and was very knowledgeable. Cant wait to go back. Portions are big enough to share.

Service was excellent. Menu very good and the the food was also excellent. I had the Ahi tuna and was very pleased.The craft beer menu is decent although they were out of the one I wanted to try.Had a glass of Jeff Isosceles bourdeux blend wine. One of the top wine I have had. Fantastic.

My son had made reservations for homecoming that was on 10/4/14. He was seated in the bar with his date. He asked why he was being seated in the bar & they said it was because it was only the two of them. My son wanted this to be a special evening for him & his date. By being sat in the bar he didnt feel this was very good. After a phone to my wife & I we told him to go to Tavern on Clark. They treated him & date to a very wonderful evening. Everything worked out great for him thanks to Tavern on Clark. Very disappointed in Giovannis

We were saying by a nearby hotel, arrived there 9 p.m. to eat dinner and listen to entertainment. Just as we say down and the live music was packing up to leave. It was quite disappointing, seeing that it was a Saturday night.We left and went to Texas Roadhouse. 😳

Within Giovannis is Big Als, a bar / restaurant. Have stopped in a few times over the past year, & found the food & drinks to be pretty good, albeit, a bit overpriced. But this nightspot does try to cater to a higher price-point market. However, this past weekend stopped in for a quick drink while my wife & daughter attended a fund raising event elsewhere in the complex. Unfortunately, there was a band performing within Big Als with sound levels that were beyond deafening - I dont know how anyone could hear themselves think let alone have a conversation with their table mates. Even down the hallways or outside the building the sound levels were ridiculous. As a result, went to the neighboring bar in same complex, Alchemy (see separate review).

Newly updated upscale Legacy steak house. Great wood fired steaks at Legacy. Dry aged and Waguy options available. Great appitzers like oysters, chips & crack, coconut shrimp. I want to try the rack of lamb next. Fantastic pizzas. Wonderful beer menu. . The5 cake is crazy good 8 different chocolates in 15 layers and can easily satisfy 4-5 people.

When there was a public emergency in the neighborhood this restaurant stepped up to help out....big time. They opened their doors for people affected by the tragedy and allowed law enforcement to use their facilities for news conferences. Im eating there tonight to show my appreciation of their community service!

Seriously take your favorite person to Legacy. Prime steak, great liquor, the best wedge salad I have ever had, and duck fat agratin potatoes...who does that?...yeah they do. And to top it off a (slice of) cake as big as your head. All I can say is WOW, this is done at a tremendously higher level than this town is used to.

Went to the new legends restaurant. Adequate service, wierd food. Strange combinations and tastes, a little too strange for my taste. Theyre trying to be upscale and eclectic, but is just strange. Onion soup came with a beef bone about 4 inches long cut open down the middle so you could eat the marrow - again, strange tastes. Was their first couple of weeks so Ill try it again hoping it gets better. Expected more from Giovannis.

A unique menu and cocktail list. This place is trendy and has a modern feel to it. It is convenient if you are staying at one of the nearby hotels.

Typically Food is good. We were there for a fundraiser/ banquet. I was very disappointed in the pizza and mac and cheese that was served for 50$ a ticket.

Ate @ Legacy for the first time. Server was Amazing & ambiance was definitely a 10. Was disappointed with food however. Had the lamb & asked for medium rare & it was served well-done. Our guest had scallops & there was a strange flavor/after-taste that wasn’t normal & it seemed they were either old or going bad. Other hues had bone-in Ribeye which was good. All in all the food for the price-point wasn’t up to par. Afterwards I felt like we should have eaten in Alchemy - we love their menu & its 1/2 the cost.

Co. Holiday party there every January, they do a great job. Food, drinks and desserts.

Hosting our 15 yr high school reunion at Giovannis and Nicole was soo sooo great to work with. She made the planning very easy for me and was very understanding with much help available! I have no regret going here because the room, food and the coordinator Nicole made our reunion turn out amazing!

The Mothers Day brunch buffet cost $200 for 5 people and there was TERRIBLE service! No one bused our tables. I cleared the table a few times for my one year old. It was not that busy! Coffee and drinks were not refilled. The buffet was cold. It was awful. The food was mediocre. The only interesting part was the chocolate fondue fountain and smores. We will not do this again!

Steak was cooked perfectly however three other members of my family ordered pasta dishes which were poorly cooked.

The food and service are phenomenal. The desserts were also good. Its a little dark, but great area overall.

Excellent food and wine choices. I prefer the Alchemy bar area so I always hang a left after entering. Probably my favorite spot in Rockford.

Very nice venue for commercial meeting space.

Pleasantly surprised. I wandered over from the hotel across the street and ate at the bar in Big Als because Alchemy was packed. A little apprehensive about food in a place called Big Als but surprisingly well executed for what it was. Good portions, prices werent out of line. Its also one of those places where it probably has male management as the staff is mostly female and unusually attractive. Probably a given at a place called Big Als. Overall Ill consider going back even for takeout the next time Im in town.

Went to the OSF St Anthonys Pink Ball tonight. With well over three hundred guests they were able to put medium-rare steaks on the tables. And the vegetarian options had a beautiful presentation.

Easter brunch. $30 per person. The only food that was hot was the omelette I watched someone prepare.

Good restaurant. Convention center does not have enough parking. Had to go around a few times to find a parking spot.

So much wasted potential here. The happy hour menu is a disappointment, strange combinations of ingredients, and pretty pedestrian at that. Craft beer selection is not very good either. I dont understand why you would put garage doors as an outer wall right next to the driveway, so you can never open them, just another reflection at the lack of thought that put into this place by the latest owners.

I have attended multiple banquet fundraisers. They always serve good food. I have never checked out the bar areas though.
