So lucky we found Northwind Apartments. While moving to Reno 3 years ago I looked around at a bunch of apartment complexes in the area. Northwind was definitely the most affordable with great quality.Weve been living at Northwind for 3 years now. In that time weve lived in 2 different apartments (1 bedroom and 2 bedroom) and both of them have been very well kept. They have nice floor plans as well as washers and dryers. It also has a nice view overlooking Reno. The Complex is always clean and the area is quiet.Management has been absolutely amazing in the time we have been here. The ladies in the office are always very kind, caring and professional. They get to know you on a first name basis and treat you like family. They are very responsive and accommodating, every time weve had an issue they have been very understanding, quick to act and helpful. You can tell they care about the complex and everyone in it. In the past during the summer they even have handed out little goodie bags in the morning as people head out for the day which was very thoughtful and appreciated. The maintenance staff are great as well. They have been very helpful and whenever we put in maintenance requests they normally get resolved that same day or the next. They are very knowledgeable and do a great job. The guys are very kind and considerate as well.Overall this is a great place to live. Its been a joy to live here and cant thank Northwind Staff enough. If youre looking to move to the Reno area definitely check them out.

This apartment has affordable but still renovated units. I think that the rent is more inexpensive compared to the other apartments nearby. I really like the view of the landscape looking down from the hill. Furthermore, the people managing the apartment are very friendly and nice. Natalia and Jennifer in the management office were very helpful in answering many questions when I was looking for an apartment due to relocation from Boston MA. Also, the maintenance team (Gerald and Angel) was very responsive to the maintenance request. They fixed our washer and dryer on the same day when I placed the requests.

I have been living here for three years. I have been here during the remodel and Im very pleased. More importantly during the pandemic. The staff and upper Management have been incredibly understanding and helpful. While many of us are restructuring our lives and finances. This speaks volumes of them. Ive been very grateful and thankful for that. Good neighborhood with a beautiful trail near by for a short or long walk. Jenifer and Natalia have always been helpful. Anything I need they take care of ASAP.(I like my neighbors)

I have lived at Northwind Apartments for the past 6 years with my young son. Ive lived in 2 different units here (1 bedroom classic and now a 2 bedroom classic) and both times we have felt safe, comfortable, and have had good neighbors.Natalia and Jennifer from the office are very friendly and personable. Theyre knowledgeable and helpful whenever I need something. Im also always able to reach them no problem during their business hours.Anytime my apartment needs anything fixed, the maintenance guys, Gerald and Angel, come by and get it fixed soon after my request. I have never had a problem in my apartment that they werent able to or didnt fix for us. Theyre also very friendly and always say hi to us when we see them.Overall I would recommend living here! :)

This is an overall nice complex with fair pricing for housing in this area of Reno. Im in a newly renovated 2 bedroom and it is nice and spacious. The main bathroom is really big! My only issue with the unit is noise - ceilings are thin and the central air-conditioning/heating unit is noisy too. So thats something to consider if you are a light sleeper for example, but it does not bother me much and this is often an issue in apartment complexes. Its probably better on the top floor. I think it is still a very fair price-value.I am surprised by any negative reviews about management - Natalia has been the most helpful and friendly manager I have ever dealt with. She knows who you are, is extremely friendly, and most importantly deals with your requests promptly! Ive mostly interacted with Natalia, but Jennifer is always friendly and helpful too. As in every apartment there have been a few minor things that broke/needed to be fixed, but these issues were all dealt with within 24 hours of me reporting them. The maintenance staff, Gerald and Angel, are friendly, helpful, and say hi whenever I see them. Overall, this is an extremely friendly complex, including management, maintenance staff, and my neighbors! There are comments here about parking - weve had several notices and warnings, so I am not sure how much management can do if people continue to break the rules. There is plenty of on-street parking and I think the parking availability, while not ample, is completely normal for this type of complex (i.e. generally one spot per apartment, plus garages for rent, and some first come first served spots throughout).

Natalia is the absolute best. She showed my apartment about a year ago and I was absolutely in love with how everything looked. In all honesty, we had a couple bumps upon move in, but Natalia was quick to respond and get things taken care of. She’s really the face of Northwind’s and one that they should be proud to have. I’ve never worked with someone as kind and helpful as her, she always has a smile on and strives to help you. There’s a lot of amenities on the property including a dog park, a playground for kids, a pool and hot tub, and an indoor gym. The apartments are roomy, appliances are new, kitchen is a great size.

In the very beginning of our move here, we had zero issues.Natalia was great and very pleasant to interact with.Maintenance has always been quick and always responsive and continues in that manner. The units are spacious and have been newly renovated which makes for a great interior to be in; and the overall property is quiet and well kept. However, since about the end of January things seem to have taken a turn. When trying to call the office, there is no answer most of the time. Unless you physically walk in, there is no guarantee of speaking with someone (email is no better, I have numerous emails that have been left unanswered). This is especially difficult and frustrating for someone who works a 9-5 as the office is closed by the time I get home.Parking is a complete nightmare. Residents do not have parking priority, and are forced to park on the street if unmarked spots are taken and if their RESERVED spot has been taken (this doesnt seem fair when we pay for a spot that is included in our rent).Pool reservations (due to Covid-19) are a miss most of the time. Even though when you walk by numerous times during the day, no one is in the pool (seems odd).Gym hours have also changed and it is only open during the office hours. So again, if you work a 9-5 you have no access to the gym.The spa has been closed way before Covid-19 due to maintenance issues. And you can forget having access to anything on a Sunday because since the office is closed, so is everything else.It would be absolutely ridiculous if this facility tried to raise the cost of rent when leases are up because a lot of what residents pay for have been a complete wash since January, and this would only make myself and Im sure others, look elsewhere to live.

The front office never answers the phone or return phone calls. They take forever to respond to your maintenance requests and they are not done completely. Response to issues are lacking any effort. During this pandemic, amenities have been shut down yet we still pay for it. No discount what so ever. When we report problems, they are never handled or notified when they even make an attempt.

Natalia is a breath of fresh air to work with! We have had awful experiences with complexes here in Reno. We are moving into northwind next month and Natalia’s care and dedication is a big reason for that (besides the classic being one of the only affordable apartments in all of Reno). Hopefully everything works out with our new home and never get rid of her!

The Apartment is very nice clean. Any issue we had when it comes to maintenance was taken care of immediately. Natalia was beyond helpful and nice throughout the entire process.Unfortunately I feel they have handled the Covid-19 poorly. Trying to contact never works out that phone is never answered. Parking has been a nightmare and the only thing we hear from them about it is to park on the street or get towed. Instead if making guest of people stay on the street the residents have to. Also when it started the office just closed without notice and no information about our packages or mail issues so we were just left in the wind. Many other pools have remained open and can schedule visits but not here. It has remained closed. Even when it came to rent they still hound you even if its close and no notice was sent out like other apartments with options if you are struggling because of covid. Just very insensitive and feels like they just dont want to be bothered. I will probably look elsewhere to live especially if they try and increase our rent.

I lived in Northwind Apartments for two years, and I loved my stay there. Jennifer, the office manager, was always warm and welcoming. The other ladies in the office were delightful, as well. I never had issues with them helping me with questions I had. Any repairs I needed, they were fixed, and the Sunday brunches were great way to be involved with the community.I would still be living there if my friend didnt offer me a place in her house. I miss Northwind and appreciate them giving me a home for my first two years of college.

New remodeled apartment. It is very small though. I have had 1 bedroom places bigger then this 2 bed 2 bath. No storage in kitchen. Many faults in the remodel that took an extremely long time to correct. Not worth the price they ask for. I would look elsewhere in northwest Reno. Im glad my lease is up and have found a much bigger 3 bed 2 bath for 200$ less. It is a great quiet community. I cant deny that. If you are a childless couple or only have 1 child then it could be worth it to you. Just know its expensive

I am a current resident and have been living at the Northwind Complex for 2 months. There is a severe parking issue that has become a safety concern. There are not enough spots for the volume of residents so on a nightly basis there are usually between 15 and 20 cars illegally parked throughout the complex. It has reached a point where, on several occasions my car has been double parked and blocked into either my assigned parking spot or stuck in the garage because illegally parked cars have completely blocked my path to back out. Management at the front office refuses to do anything to resolve this issue. Their is no patrol to tow illegally parked vehicles at night and tenants are not authorized to have cars towed because its private property. My wife is 9 months pregnant and its at the point where more often than not, I dont have access to my car at night. This means that when she goes into labor I will be forced to call an ambulance to come pick her up if my car is blocked wasting precious time that could put her and my childs life at risk. If this glaring issue isnt resolved immediately I will be forced to break the lease due to safety concerns.

I have enjoyed living here. Management is great Only reason Im moving is I need enclosed patio The 2 bed 2 bath is quite large. Beautiful view. In summer when pool is open it is always clean. Ive never had any issues with my apartment so Ive never had maintenance really have to come and fix anything since living here. Saddened that I must move but my fur-baby needs an enclosed patio. I need downstairs and they do not have enclosed down stairs... upstairs balconys are nice and large

They raise the rent every year I have a single bedroom and am paying 1025 a month. that went up from 890 from last year. my car was hit by a drunk driver on the street and was totaled; the only reason it was on the street is because the complex took two days longer to repave the parking lot than was scheduled. the complex manager, Jennifer I think her name is, didnt even offer me an apology when I told her about it. luckily the police found the guy and thankfully he had insurance. its not a terrible place to live but it aint great either.

We had a similar experience to the previous review. At first it was great low deposit, good management. The management had changed twice in the 3 years, so they had no idea what the previous management had verified as far as damage to the apartment. So when we moved out, we were charged $600. Yes, we lived there for 3 years and there was some wear and tear, but to charge us $50 for a flimsy blind? And $200 to clean the place when Im sure that the people they paid to do it didnt get paid that. We had cleaned and steamed carpets and were still charged for the service. Better yet, we tried to set up a payment for this bill we didnt even agree with since we were threatened with them taking us to collections and the front desk personnel had no idea about the payment plan we had just set up over the phone a few hours earlier. So as of now, we had given them a $100 check to start to pay our debt off and a month later they have yet to cash the check. Be careful moving out, make sure on the inspection you note every little piece of damage as you will be charged an extreme amount for it. Also, make sure you read the entire lease before signing, since they sneak in language that makes them able to charge you arbitrarily.

I’ve lived at Northwind for 3 years. The staff is friendly and helped me get an apartment after all the craziness and the shortage of apartments in Reno. The location is close to stores and downtown, you have a free gym and a washer and dryer in your apartment. Natalia and Jennifer have always answered my questions and helped me as needed, and the maintenance team has fixed any issues I’ve had on a regular basis. I have nothing but positive things to say about the apartments.

Attempted to rent here and was told I needed a double deposit, they would not give me a reason. I feel it was age discrimination but in Nevada that is not a reason to file a complaint. My deposit was sent to their corporate office in Oregon and I have to wait for the refund. They have had my money over a month and still no refund. Do not rent here - they are unscrupulous and rent to who they pick and choose. Dumpsters had couches and mattresses laying next to them, strictly ghetto. Not sure why I went there in the first place. I will be contacting the District Attorneys office.

This apartment complex is actually the best I have ever lived in.. No dirt bags, no punk kids, never had car broken into.. Staff is very nice. Very clean apartments. Rarely do the reviews come up on the web but I would like to write this one. Most of the ppl that write these crappy reviews on places such as these are dirt bags and dont pay their bills.. destroy apartments and then wine when they cant get $$$ back for deposit.. Great apartments!! Oh and forgot to mention! Got my carpet cleaned for free after a year...

Horrible management, your better off renting at the Vista Ridge apartments across the street. Let me move in when they knew I had a broken dryer, always go back on their word, and downright disrespectful. I have never seen such horrible management to the point where its not even worth renting here. Do yourself the favor and just find some place better.

Ive lived here for about six years now and only leaving in Sept of 16 due to positive life changes. While this complex has its flaws. Moderate turn-over of tenants, sometimes a bit overly noisy on the weekends, older appliances and other apartment features for its price, and mostly the corporation that owns the place being a bit mercenary when it comes to some costs, overall the experience here has been positive. The last two managers weve had have been friendly and accommodating when possible. Jennifer, the current one, is always pleasant to chat with and deal with when something is needed. The place is clean and well-maintained overall.Im happy I lived here for a time.

Dont move here. Low deposit seems nice, but it comes with a price. The apartments are just ok. Living on the ground floor was pretty awful because of the noise from neighbors. Parking is a joke. Moving out fees are insane. My roommate and I took really good care of our place....80$ carpet cleaning fee, 200$ cleaning fee, 150$ paint touch up fee, and 60$ to replace 1 of those cheap window blind panels. Its BS. The gym and pool are crap as well.Take the time to look around before settling on Northwind.

These people are scam artists and liars. A deplorable rental property company that preys on young college kids looking to get their own place while going to school. That was me a year ago, and I have really learned my lesson the hard way. *They use low security deposits to entice people to get into their units, then when the lease is up they screw them over with hidden fees and miscellaneous erroneous charges*. Stay away from this corporation and this apartment complex if you can! I am seriously regretting my decision not doing so. STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE!!
