A-1 Barbershop is the best barber shop in town to get a straight razor fade, at a reasonable price. Ive been to at least 10 different Barbershops in Rapid City and most wont even do a straight razor. So, if you are military or a Veteran, check A-1 Barbershop out and get a close cut and a good fade.

At the time of this post, the barber charges $15 for a haircut and $17 for a razor fade! She takes her time when cutting your hair, and trims your eyebrows and beard. Great quality haircut, awesome personality and extremely reasonably priced! Yes, she uses the old school barber razor...When you ask for a fade!

The barber was very professional! She does well with cutting ethic hair! The only barber my son will allow to cut his hair! Very good with children! She is fast and thorough! She always aims to please! If you need a barber you should come here!

Best barber in town hands down

New to Rapid City, I tried a few barber shops out. I found A-1 to be the best place for me. Jana does a fine job with her fades and the price is right ($15-cash only). It is also walk-ins only, so I would suggest calling ahead of time to see on wait time.

Great little barber shop! Hair stylist is very easy to talk to and does a phenomenal job cutting hair. Some issues I have though is that its cash only and walk ins only . Not that big a deal though. Price for a haircut is the right amount for a straight blade.

Was not very professional. Brought my father here for a cut and a shave. He had to wait for almost an hour. The use of profanity by the barber and her clients seemed commonplace and is probably the norm. Made for a very uncomfortable experience for him. I watched her give decent hair cuts to two ahead of him but I think there are better options available.

I moved to Rapid 3 months ago and was I lucky to find A1. The owner does top of the line fades/taper hair cuts and beard trims. I cant recommend her enough. Promise you wont be disappointed.

Ok so look my husband went in for a nice fancy haircut for his birthday. Now normally I do it but I wanted a special treat for him. Im writing this review before Ive even seen the haircut, but honestly, it doesnt even matter. He was there for TWO AND A HALF HOURS. Two hours before he was even in the chair. Im frustrated. I understand that its a Saturday and its busy, but fo real. Two and a half hours? Come on. On top of that, you are like, NEVER open. Saturday is the only day my husband could make it since you keep bank hours, and you are only open until 1 on Saturdays. Look, Im sure you are as good as your reputation. But your wait time and hours dont make up for it. Even if his hair was cut by magical rainbow unicorn doves who poop skittles in your mouth. Two and a half hours? Nah. Just book friggin appointments, like a normal person.

I went there a few times to get my hair cut. It seems to be like any other barbershop price is cheaper than any other place Ive gone to, but there is only one barber so wait times are long. She spends half the time talking to everyone so she loses focus. She miss cut my hair twice and I have not been back since.

Be laying her stomach on you when she cut, she dont keep her hand steady with the clippers. Fast, doesnt take her time. Got the job done but not the way I wanted it. Her fades are uneven, her hair cut skills are mediocre. I couldve done it myself.
