The quality and service was at its finest, the barber Ryan Sherman was excellent, took his time and really made sure my hair was the way I wanted it, strongly recommend the barbershop and the barber, overall great experience and it’s a must if you’re local or stopping through 🙏🏽

My first experience was so amazing I had to go back again. I am very particular about my hair and can say without a shadow of a doubt that Black Hills Barber has my business going forward. The shop is clean, great atmosphere, barbers are highly professional and they treat you like family. If you’re in town and need a solid cut…take a chance with them…you will not be disappointed. Called the barbershop this morning to make a Appointment and they said to just walk in I said ok. So when I do get there they are all booked and have a long wait.The reason I called to schedule a appointment so I wont have to wait. I had an excellent experience getting my haircut and a beard trim for my 4th of July weekend. The owner Dom greeted me outside and got me in line Ina timely fashion for a walk-in. Each barber does an excellent job which takes time but if your patient its very much worth it. Im gonna recommend this place to everyone. Paige cut my hair and did an amazing job. She is very friendly and cleaned my beard up perfect. It looks super dope Id recommend this place to everyone. If I ever move I would regret it because they are an awesome joint and I love having them in my life. A very cool hole in the wall joint. I really had a great experience. I’m from Jersey and I’ve been through quite a few barbers it’s rare to find someone who understands your type of growth and hair. Generally I have a hard time trusting barbers, hence I only choose one and I’m loyal to them because they impress me. Since I’ve came here I’ve struggled because I didn’t believe anyone here knew how to cut hair up until I gave this shop a chance. I’m military so majority of the places just assume and buzz it quickly but no one takes their time to understand the person. Then I met Paige here and she was amazing, it felt like home where I trusted the barber I was loyal too. She listened, knew what she was doing, and gave me the type of cut I wanted. She was also very friendly and the barbershop had such a good vibe. Highly recommend to those new to the town and those who can’t find that trust. I scheduled biweekly appointments because I trust her, and if she is that good I’m sure so are the rest of them.

Great Barber shop, could manage time better for walk in customers. I spent almost 4 hours as a walk in and finally got into a chair. These guys are fantastic. I dropped by for a walk-in before a long road trip, and despite being slammed (largely with travelers from out of town), they found a way to squeeze me in. One of the most stressful things about moving to a new town is finding a good barber, and Black Hills Barbershop made me feel right at home. Busy place. Got there 5 minutes after opening and had to wait near 45 minutes for haircut. But it was worth the wait. Great cut!!! Cool building!!! It’s expensive, but good to treat yourself now and then.

Easily the most enjoyable and best looking hair cut I have ever received. I had the pleasure of Paige cutting my hair. Not only was she thoughtful in what I wanted, flexible in scheduling, and conversational; but she is also a talented barber. The entire experience was great. I had a conversation, with what felt like, every other barber there while I was waiting for my haircut. Everyone was conscious of my experience. I would suggest this shop to anyone, and I would imagine that you can not go wrong with any barber you choose.

After my current barber moved to FL I began a long journey of finding a new barber to deal with this head. After going to a couple of places only to get stood up and other places not returning texts sent. I reached out to Dom (whom I have known since his childhood) and I was able to get in the very next day. Just the atmosphere alone is awesome. When a person walked in they were greeted and when they left they were acknowledged. So after going without a cut for nearly 60 days Carlos had me looking right and motivated to face the world. Black Hills Barbershop is truly a diamond in the Hills and the best in the 605. The only negative thing that I have to say is that I waited way to long to walk thru the doors but Im glad I did. So, this shop is great. You walk in and you feel like you’re home. All of the barbers are extremely skilled. I’ve had Dom and Jake take care of my mop and beard. I just sit back and relax and let them make me look like my best self. Book an appointment or walk on in. You’re going to be happy with the results. Also, don’t forget the beer! It makes the experience complete.

What a great barbershop in downtown Rapid City. My 18 year old son just raves about this place. They offered me a beer when I sat down. The place is just cool top to bottom. Excellent haircuts and excellent atmosphere. I saw some visitors from Wyoming enjoying their cuts and well as some locals.You’re missing out if you don’t stop here for your haircut. I’d recommend making an appointment because the walk-ins were steady.

Dom and his team always take care of who ever walks in their door. To them, every client is family and every client matters no matter where they come from. Best Barber Shop in the state of SD! Once you come here, you won’t be going anywhere else. Got my second haircut from Jake (Man with the Stache) and it’s been by far the best cut I’ve had in Rapid. Locally owned and operated. This isnt your cookie cutter haircut joint, where they treat you like sheep getting sheared. They take their time and treat you like a work of art because to them, cutting hair is art. Modern cuts with the old barber shop feel right down to the manly scented talcum powder. Get your hair cut here and you walk out feeling like a million dollars. I promise.

If you want to make appointment with them make sure you show up. Booked an appointment a day before and something came up so i had to reschedule but the online account won’t let me reschedule and tried calling them 6 times but no one answered and they charged me $31 for that.Update: Got a call from bill right away and clarified everything to me. Ill book an appointment with him maybe in few weeks when I need hair cut again. 5 star to that! : )

Best experience today having both my sons’ hair cut - we walked in and we were greeted with smiles and energy. Angel and Bill made both boys feel well taken care of and said the service was “gourmet”. Definitely will catch a lot of grief if I suggest any other barber shop from here on out. I was welcomed into this sanctum of hair with a cold brew in hand and a cozy cape around my neck. The barbers are of a caliber only prophecized of. The homie Carlos will absolutely ICE you with the cleanest mullet youve ever experienced. Fades of the most immaculate degree walk out of these doors. Before I even got back to my car, 3 girls and 2 dudes asked me for my number, the cut was so clean. Entrusting your hair to the will of these people will result in you demanding the respect, and attention, of every room you enter.

Jake answered the phone straight away at opening with a kind greeting. I explained to him i was flying to a wedding in the morning and asked for an appointment which he gladly accomidated. When i got there the place was clean, enjoyable and the music was as if they had stolen my playlist. Once in the chair, i let him do things his way, only offering the warning of my difficult hair and the request to keep it off my ears. Many barbershops I attended did not know how to work with naturally curly hair and would cut it too short to where I would not have those curls, with black hills barbershop they recommend new ways to style my curly hair and take the time to make sure u leave with a smile
