The staff and nail technicians are friendly, professional and talented! Nelci, June and Anna are my favorite but all the nail technicians deliver a high standard of service. I recently had the best gel manicure with Anna, 11days later the polish is still on! That never happens for me as I am constantly washing dishes and doing things with my hands. The salon follows CDC guidelines and its an extremely sanitary space. I also love the decor and atmosphere of Paintbase. Ive been going there for years and would highly recommend this salon.
I went for a basic manicure and pedicure the other day and had the worst experience I have had at a salon ever. The nail tech cut my cuticles on my toes and made me bleed twice, and then cut my toenails all different lengths and shapes including lopping off an entire corner of my big toenail. While the tech was doing my pedi, the receptionist asked her what shade of white she needed to do my French manicure and she literally rolled her eyes and said “I don’t know”… I should have just told her not to do it but I didn’t.She didn’t ask me what shape I wanted my nails so she cut my perfectly rounded nails into stubby little squares which I didn’t want at all. Then she gave me the chunkiest, most uneven, amateur French manicure of my life. The polish was lumpy and smudged before she even finished and I think she knew it was terrible but she isn’t even try to fix.The receptionist was kind in not charging me for the manicure and discounting my pedicure but I still paid $30 for someone to hack up all my nails and cuticles and waste 2 hours of my time.DO. NOT. go here. Their prices are higher than any other salon and they shouldn’t even be charging what other salons are charging.
This was a very unpleasant experience! We had manicures and pedicures scheduled for 3 months for my daughters wedding. When we got there they were not expecting us and 2 of us (out of 4) including the bride couldn’t get our manicures. We had to go to another spa to get our manicures. The pedicure I got from June was horrible! She had to redo the polish and it didn’t look any better. The nail techs were arguing with each other and did not seem to care about their customers. I will say, the lady at the front desk (Ronnie?) was very nice, apologetic and comped our 2 out of 4 pedicures. Unfortunately that was the only good thing that came from our experience.
Very disappointed with my manicure. It felt incredibly rushed (she did an entire gel manicure with a powder coat in under 20 minutes) and my nails look worse than if I had done them myself. My nails were left rough because she filed for maybe 30 seconds total and was barely even looking at my nails while she did. I was not asked if I was satisfied before she moved on so I never got to look them over. Also my email confirmation stated I owed $47 but when I went to checkout I was told I owed $52 before adding a tip.
I didnt actually get to get my nails done here, but I did have an interesting interaction..Unfortunately the service I wanted was rare and the tech didnt show up for work. Now I will say the business let me know 1.5 hours ahead of my appointment that I would need to reschedule, and made a generous offer to make up for the inconvenience. I just prefer to be a steady client and it seemed like that might have been a challenge, but who knows. I did however note the communication of the team here is STELLAR.. Lots of reminders & heads up!
I’ve been going here for years, and every time I stray and go somewhere else I regret it. Every one of the PB technicians are nice and non judgey (to my face at least!). Every other place gives me so much sass for picking off my polish or biting my nails WHICH I ALREADY KNOW IS BAD. Paintbase people are just like “yeah it’s all good, what color would you like”. Love how clean it is, all their tools come out in a FRESH package- other places it’s just like a bucket of tools that I have to pray to god are clean. I felt compelled to leave a review because I was shocked by the low score. Several of my friends all go here and have had nothing but good experiences.
They charge entirely too much ($50) for a pedicure that has still water. I was getting a pedicure next to another woman (white woman) who was also getting a pedicure. The woman had soap/bubbles in her water but I just had lukewarm plain WATER in my pedicure bowl. I asked the lady who was giving me a pedicure about adding soap in my water and she adds soap (at the end of my pedicure) with cold water. Although the setup is beautiful inside, the service did not provide a clean/relaxing/welcoming feel for me. I honestly want my money back, one of the worst pedicure experience I have ever had.
I love Paintbase! Been seeing Cecilia for years, followed her from her previous salon to Paintbase, and she is amazing. My nails and toes always look perfect. While I wish there were more color choices for CND, I always love what I choose. Front desk staff is always welcoming and the salon is clean. I look forward to my regular appointments!!
They are the best and make you feel real comfy. I wouldnt go anywhere else. The prices are very reasonable!!
My technician forgot some steps for the pedicure and ended up doings things backwards. She admitted to it. 2 days later, my feet feel and look like I never went. My friend also said the $50 we paid for a pedicure was not worth it. The tech didnt scrub her feet good at all. I know next time to go where I know the techs will actually work and I will get my moneys worth and its cheaper. All you pay for at Paint Base is the pretty decor. The receptionist was not very friendly at all. They wouldnt take cash and there were no signs regarding that. Very disappointed!
If your not white they will always tell you they are booked up they have a lady who sits at the desk and she never says hello you have to say hello to her first horrible service. She didn’t even care to tell me how I can book an appointment all she cared about telling me is that they were fully booked I hope your business last through Covid when you discriminate.
Every experience I have had at Paintbase has been 1st class! The girls at Paintbase are always very attentive and friendly. My nails always last at least two weeks and only have to be repainted due to nail growth, not chips. I especially enjoy the comfy chairs for pedicures (I am not a massage chair gal.) During COVID you can tell they are doing everything they can to insure the safety of their guests as well as staff. Paintbase is a clean, beautifully designed and well maintained nail salon. Repeat customer and would highly recommend!
I got a mani/pedi on Monday and my nail is already chipped... yikes! For $100, that’s a touch absurd. Luckily I got in with y’all tomorrow to fix it but the lady over the phone seemed less than enthused to help, nor did she provide a name to me, so that I would know whom I’m speaking with. I’m sure I’ll have to get my nails redone in two weeks when I get back to my other salon...
I’m not sure if my experience is just really unlucky or what. While the people are nice, the atmosphere is lovely, and I liked that they avoided harsh drilling, I’ve only had issues the three times I’ve gone. :(I got a set one night at the Tucker St location, I felt really good about them until a day later. There was lifting on one and a chip on the other. I ended up being able to schedule a fix at this location the next evening. They informed me the set as a whole was improperly done and I needed to fix all of them ASAP. I was charged for the first fix (very small fee, didn’t contest it or question it, but I was under the impression there was a 3 day guarantee). The literal next morning the top coat was peeling off one of the nails, and another nail started lifting. There were no available techs, so they scheduled me another fix a few days from then, and was told there would be no significant charge. Within those days, I had two other nails lift. I explained the situation the day of my scheduled appointment, and made sure about the charge before going and was informed that it would be “discounted”...but still would total to about 44 with tip (I always tip 20-25%). This would bring me to a total of $115 on these nails after 6 days, with new issues each day. That fix price is basically the price of getting a full new set at most other places. Currently at a total of 6 nails almost lifted off completely, two of which were a nail that was “fixed” the last time..I don’t do anything strenuous to have caused this, and have never ever encountered that kind of issue, especially so fast. I really wanted to give this place a chance and appreciated their effort to accommodate me again, but after paying significantly more than I would at any other place I just couldn’t afford that riskiness so I cancelled.
This is the worst luxury / not luxury quality service I have ever experienced they literally soaked my feet and put lotion on them and I was done a matter of 20 minuets 15 of that being the soaking then the other 10 lotion and nail polish applying and drying I would never recommend if you know you want a relaxing foot massage time and time to rewind and relax.
My first visit was awesome, but my nails chipped and came off within a week on the second visit. I will give them another chance but will stick with the first artist I saw.
Pedicure with June was awesome! $5 “COVID Fee”not so awesome. You saved $5 by not offering me a glass of wine! Must of the COVID precautionary updates are one time expenses.... shields mostly. I’m not sure how many times I should pay for that? I didn’t notice any extraordinary cleaning measures. Paintbase is overpriced, but I’m willing to pay because I love the experience. I expect more from you Paintbase.
Visiting from California and made an appointment for me and my mother. They took us to our chairs. Someone started my pedicure while my mother waited patiently. and After at least 30 minutes another lady said “I’m not doing her pedicure” (referring to my mom). It was rude and disrespectful. The receptionist was on a personal call most of the time so maybe the confusion was from that. Either way it was Completely unprofessional and down right disrespect. It was supposed to be a nice afternoon. Horrible experience
Paintbase is a killer salon! The staff is very kind and they love to be creative with your nails! I love that they make your visit special as soon as you walk into the door. I mean who doesnt love to be pampered with champagne, a neck pillow, and pretty fingers or toes! I travel from a distance to this salon because it is my favorite and trust me, I have been through the ringer when it comes to all different salons. I have stuck with the same nail technician but have had others and I am always satisfied. Dont let the bad reviews discourage your visit, i have never had a negative visit and you are really paying for great quality. Their products are clean, as healthy as they can be, and those healthy products really do make a difference. I have noticed that my nails are stronger and look way better after my visit compared to my other visits at other salons. I have a hard time being satisfied with my nail salons and this one I am going to stick with!! One thing i really enjoy is the range of colors and the nail technicians range in what they can do. It is a modern place with a relaxed flair, completely different and innovative from other salons!! Give it a shot! The staff is darling and so are the managers! I love this place and would love to take it with me if i ever have to move away!
I am getting married and my matron of honor scheduled mani/pedis for my small bridal party at the North Hills location. Three weeks before my wedding they contacted my MOH to say that a large party was now scheduled during the time they promised to us. They wanted to offer my bridal party an appointment which would fall during the bridesmaid luncheon or right before the rehearsal & rehearsal dinner. We took our business elsewhere and I would suggest others do the same.
Love Patricia!! Best manicure and pedicure especially after COVID!
I have gotten two pedicures at this location, and just booked my third. Aside from being a gorgeous salon, Ive absolutely loved the pedicures Ive gotten. Ive chosen the Signature Pedicure, and the foot/leg massages Ive gotten have been wonderful and relaxing. Ive found that both technicians did a great job shaping my nails, and I am a stickler for even nails. They also both did a great job painting. Speaking of paint, both pedicures polish outlasted the pedicure. There was not a single chip before it was time to remove the polish and trim my nails. I was very impressed. So much so that I literally painted my own toe nails earlier this week, immediately removed the polish, and booked another pedicure appointment for this coming weekend. I find the experience at Paintbase to be so relaxing and luxurious. As mom to a toddler, treating myself to a little pampering a quiet me time is absolutely worth it.
Took my sister her for her birthday. We loved it! From the decor to the service! Very relaxing and enjoyable. We will definitely be back!
This was my first (and last) visit to Paintbase. I went in for a gel french manicure on Thursday, August 30. By Sunday, three days later, two of the white tips peeled off. They must use cheap products because I have been getting gel french manicures for years - they always last at least two weeks. I am always very careful with my nails. Never again.
The experience was nice although it was a little pricy. After leaving the salon the polish on two toes had smudged and I was told that I couldn’t have it fixed until 2:30pm...It’s 12:30. I told her I was from out of town and that I’m sure it’ll be no more than 5 minutes but apparently there was no way possible that I could have 5 minutes of their time.
They have made some changes. i have started to notice the times i have made appts with a specific tech, i end up with someone i didnt request. i request certain techs for a reason BUT then i see the tech i requested working on someone else??? why is this allowed? Appointments must take priority before walk ins, if a specific tech is requested. we all have one or two that are favorites. i just feel this should be followed. also the music is different, music used to be upbeat, now its pretty somber in there. bring back the upbeat music. i dont mind going there and rarely do i like to complain, but make it more lively. your location is prime.
I got my nails done at Paintbase for two months and the gel did not stay on for more then 2 days on some nails. I had to keep getting my nails fixed so much that my nails are very damaged now. It’s been almost 3 weeks since Iv stopped and my nails still have not recovered!!!!
Really enjoy Paintbase. The nail tech Ive had (HLan) is very talented with nail design. I prefer a minimalist nail design, but still, shes done a great job. Ive gotten lots of compliments on her work/my nails. I think my polish (basic gel mani) has been more durable than from other salons. I typically book online and have not had any issues. I think it is a bit more expensive than some places in town, but I think its much cleaner. I dont feel rushed there either so I dont mind paying for the upgraded space and experience.
Love paintbase and the staff. Kasey has always been a smiling face and has a positive attitude when I come in and helps make sure my appointments are booked correctly!
So happy to have a beautiful nail salon in North Hills with friendly and generous staff! I went in for a simple gel removal and was treated so well!! I’ll be back!
Ive been going to Paintbase regularly for almost a year, and Ive never had a bad experience. Kasey — as well as the other staff — is incredible. She makes me feel welcome and genuinely appreciated for my business. At this location, I have only worked with Alona (AMAZING — I give her 5 stars alone!), but all the techs are friendly and professional.I shopped around before settling on Paintbase as my go-to, and I love my decision. Paintbase is a little more expensive than some other salons, but the service, environment, and standards they follow make it worth it for me. Additionally, they offer membership packages that are great deals! If you are looking for a salon that will welcome you and treat you well, Paintbase North Hills is the place for you!
I have been a regular at various nail salons in several states. Never have I been treated like I am treated at Paintbase -- Everyone is always super nice to me, I get a basics mani and pedi and have NEVER had a less than stellar experience. I would encourage you to meet June and if you like the service (and you like to treat yourself often) take the plunge and sign up for the unlimited package. It is really the best deal if you like to go often. I have always been a cuticle chewer (gross, I know) but with regular manis, my hands and nails are ALWAYS looking fabulous!
Thuy is the best! She does a wonderful job and is always ready for me! I’ve never had to wait on her and takes her time and is meticulous. Go see her! You won’t regret it.
My gel manicure hasnt even lasted a week before chipping. The gold foil has become discolored. For the price, definitely not worth it. I will not be returning.
Love paint base. This is a fun salon and they always make you feel welcomed and always offer a free beverage including wine or mimosa. The gel polish i have had last and looks great. One of the best places for mani pedis.
The environment and staff were wonderful. And I wish I could show my photos because my toes are amazing. Ive never been happier with the pedicure I got. My issue is, with the nails I got. One base color with one design for my nails. I also got the $44 pedicure with 5 studs on my big toe. Now I understand everything costs a price. For a gel manicure and gel polished toes, I ended up paying $198. Now I understand you have to make your money but for what I got it was NO WHERE NEAR a $200 manipeti. The environment is wonderful. I wish the filing didn’t all have to be by hand since it takes soooooooo much longer than necessary. Again the stylists are amazing. However I wont be returning because of the OUTRAGEOUS FREAKING PRICE OF $200 FOR A MANI-PETI, The stylist (while polite and very sweet and fun) couldn’t do a simple sunflower on my nail as I asked. So now I have $10 worth of design which was supposed to be sunflowers But sadly looks like honestly just multi colored smudges on my nails. The almond shape was awful, which was disappointing because it was my first time getting that sharpe and I really hoped it would turn out so cute.but the shape is off, the top coat is uneven, there was no attention paid to cleaning out underneath my nails. Nice environment, but maybe take a step back from trying to be so edgy and modern and actually fix what’s going on here, for the quality of work that you offer, the price is ridiculous. My friend also received the exact same things as me with more detail than mine, and her price was $40 LESS THAN MINE WHICH WAS THE SAME MANICURE AND THE SAME PEDICURE! Which makes no sense to me.
I would just like to share my experience to Paintbase I had today.A week ago I purchased the unlimitedMani and Pedi for 79 a month.I called to and spoke with Casey and told her my name and asked to book an appointment. No worries. I asked to be booked with June who is fantastic!!! The only reason I come to Paintbase. Is because of June my nail tech!I asked to Casey to explain how the membership worked. She was busy so she said she had to call me back.she returned my phone call and saidHi I felt like explained this to you before but Ill explain it again....in a rude condescending way. I apologized to her stating that I have been traveling alot for work lately.I forgot how the membership works. Is this how you train your employees to talk with customers.I really dont understand why she was so rude.. there are so many nail places in North Hills and Raleigh where I can spend my money and relax and feel respected and treated in a kind Manner.I will be canceling my membership soon and going somewhere else .
I stopped in two weeks ago for a polish change, and it’s still passable. My nails are short and it’s a nude polish. However I’d go back again for sure!
Great mani-pedi with Amy. She was super sweet and did a great job on both my toes and my nails...a week later, both still look great! I did not like the chairs as I am very short and it was difficult to feel comfortable with the pedicure....even with the chair scooted up...but it is a beautiful salon.
*Edited from 3 to 2 stars after a few days of wear: my CND shellac manicure started to chip at the tips after just 4 days. I’ve had this exact brand applied to my nails roughly 25 other times at other salons and they have never chipped before. Good thing I brought a nail file on my vacation 🙄*The staff was very nice and welcoming! I just was personally disappointed in a few things. I received CND shellac gel which is my favorite brand of gel so I was drawn to Paintbase for this and the fact it looks so nice inside (despite the many poor reviews, I thought I would give it a chance) It’s small things like I wish they had more color options. They have a lot of different luxury brands like Smith and Cult and Chanel but it just didn’t seem like they had a lot to choose from. I did love the color I ended up with for my pedicure but when I got home I realized there were air bubbles on every nail. I’m just going to purchase the color and fix it myself at this point. Also my gel nails seem streaky at the tips and my nails are not shaped evenly. Many of them are angled higher on the left side. Also I wish I had more attention to my cuticles and just the manicuring of the nails in general. I wanted to like it a lot because I just get simple mani and pedis, but I would listen to the reviews.
I used the Glenwood South location on Tucker Street in Raleigh and I felt the job they did on my nails for gel polish was definitely not up to par for the price they charge and extremely disappointed in the pedicure as well! But I always like to give a second chance to a business, so I went and had my gel polish done at North Hills and if it could be any worse it was. They rushed me through it, my cuticles look horrible and there’s bubbles spots all through my gel polish. In addition, when the girl wrapped my nails in the foil to take off the gel polish she left me sitting for 30 minutes at the table while she went and talked to the other girls. With all the nail salons that are in the local area, I certainly will not give them my business again.
Paint base NH has a relaxing and welcoming atmosphere for my pamper time with my favorite nail stylist, Thuy Khuat. I’ve known her for a few years from her makeup artistry days and eventually followed her to Paintbase. She helps me choose a good color that will work with my skin tone and is honest with her selections. She’s always fun and upbeat and takes such good care of me as she always has. My manicures are long lasting even though I’m rough on my hands. I always get so many compliments from others on colors and designs. Shes always punctual and most importantly provides great customer service.
DisappointedPaintbase shoots for a high end feel, but they do not produce a high end product. I got my nails done here with a gel manicure and it barely lasted a week. Most gel manicures I have gotten make it to 1.5-2 weeks, 3 weeks when they are done really well. For the price and the job not so well done, I would not go back.
**Update: After giving this establishment a 2nd chance my opinion hasnt changed. Long story short, either people do not pay attention to detail or simply do not care. Again there are imperfections in the polish, and parts of my nail are not painted.**Myself and a friend went to get pedicures July 5th, and I can already tell that I am going to need to repaint my toes within the week. The salon itself was beautiful, so I was impressed as I walked in. This was my first time receiving a pedicure in a couple of years, so its not as though I was a regular to this establishment. My pedicure felt rushed, and there was minimal talking, which is fine, I do not need to hold an intense conversation as I get my nails done. However, it would have been nice if Nelci, who was working on my pedicure, would have asked me to put my feet back into the water instead of shoving them down. Would have spoken to me rather than my friend and her attendant. Would have put on the little white flip flops on before she painted my toes, and would have told me that I need to go set my feet under the lamps so my toes could dry. Instead she would shove my feet back into the water, put the white flip flops on my feet after she painted my toes and simply told me that I was done. The only reason I knew what I should do next is because my friend and her attendant were able to tell me.I will not be returning to this establishment the next time I want a pedicure. I will be taking my business elsewhere.
I get my nails done regularly and was excited for this location to open. However, Don’t even bother - they never have time for walk ins and the handful of times I’ve tried to make an appointment in advance, they can’t fit you in. They have over 10+ mani and 10+ pedi statons, yet they only seem to staff 3-4 technicians at a time so the place looks empty. I’ve shared my feedback several times but the owner never seems to care. I guess they do okay with a half-empty salon. I’ve tried to give them my business but they never seem to want it and they definitely aren’t sympathetic or flexible with their scheduling. Just go to Midtown where they are always friendly and happy to take your business.
Scheduled a wedding mani/pedi appointment for my mom, sister and I a month out. When we arrive at Paintbase North Hills at 9:30am for our appoiments they told us they had only scheduled nails for 1. Mistake on their end and they couldn’t fix it! Terrible customer service. Their manager had an attitude and kept rolling her eyes at us. Mind you, I’m getting married tomorrow and they wouldn’t do anything to accommadate their customers when they made a mistake. Unbelievable!
I have been a frequent, loyal client at Paintbase North Hills since they opened. However, it was not until recently, that I have been very disappointed in the services I have received. My bridesmaids and I got gel manicures and pedicures the day before my wedding. My nails started peeling less 2 days later!! The is the 2nd time this has happened to me after leaving. The first time I did not say anything, but since this is something that does not normally happens 2 times in a row, I reached out to Paintbase to see what could be done. They asked me to come in and they would fix the nails. Sounds great, right? However, the way I was treated in the salon was terrible. I was told the reason they looked the way they did is because I picked at them. (They were picked at because they were peeling at the edges!) I peeled off what was lifted as it was coming off anyways. I let her know that and suggested that maybe it was the color. She completely disregarded my request to change colors, got an attitude and did not say one word to me the rest of the appointment! SO very disappointed. (The lady who re-painted my friends nails felt bad and could not believe the way my nails looked in less than 2 days!) Needless to say, Paintbase lost not only 1 but 2 loyal customers today.
I made an appointment with paintbase weeks ago for myself & my bridal party, I’m getting married Saturday. I confirmed my appointment Thursday, for today @ 3:30, I get a call at 3:00 wondering if we’re coming to our appointment. Yes but we confirmed for 3:30 the other day. Anyways traffic was bad so I was running late and asked them to start the other bridesmaids first. I arrive and they inform me that they can’t do one of the bridesmaids and I can only get paint and a mani/pedi. Fine. I’m picking out a color & the girl who’s going to be doing my nails comes over and is rushing me to pick a color & when I can’t decide rudely walks away because she has somewhere she wants to be after work. Another worker comes over to me tells me there’s not enough time for both my nails and toes that she can do one or the other because another premier client is coming in and they can’t reachedule her. IM GETTING MARRIED and they just told me they couldn’t do my nails after I brought everyone there. No. Stopped them and moved everyone to a different salon. WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE. They were so rude & I will never be back.Responding to your response: my bridesmaids were there on time but fine. 2nd they told me they couldn’t do anything so that’s not “fitting us in”, also booked my appointments weeks in advance but thanks for nothing.
Dont be fooled by the beautiful decor and lovely graphic design... Paintbase is all surface charm and no skill. My friend and I went in looking for a basic manicure and were excited to find a more lux modern looking salon in the triangle. Upon arrival they took our credit card on file and scheduled an appt. When we arrived back an hour later we were not offered any beverages and brought back to get our nails done. After about 5 minutes (I wish I had timed it) my nails where finished. A quickly done job with a completely lack of attention to detail or some of the basic manicure steps one usually experienced at less lux looking salons. Cleaning under the nails nor cleaning up the nail bed was simply not included or ignored. My nail technician was quiet and focused but Im not sure on what because it sure wasnt my manicure. My friends technician was quite nice but she struggled to file almond shaped nails. When it time to paint it seemed like she was unfamiliar with the particular brand (chanel) and struggled to properly coat the nails. Once finished and at the drying table we realized that we had both received the worst and most expensive manicure weve ever gotten. Our nails had both be filed with untrained hands and painted with barely a thought. Once it came time to pay my companion was informed she choose at lux brand and it was an additional 3 dollars. Normally such an up-charge would have not phased us but after the subpar experience and already pricey service we were a bit irritated about not being informed prior to the service. We left realizing we were both 24-27 dollars down with a manicure we could have easily done with more precision ourselves. While waiting after my 5 minute -24$ manicure I noticed that the woman receiving a pedicure had to sit on the tip of their chair. The decor (while lovely) lacks in functionality. Save your money by spending half the price, letting go of the glam decor we love so dearly, and get yourself an actual manicure. Other more established salons in the triangle with less trendy decor have nail technicians who are experts at their craft and never leave us disappointed. I only believe this place stays in business from the surface decor. We will not be returning.
H’lan is the best! Hands down!
Been a Loyal Customer since my wedding, but Ill never return after my visit on 11/13/2017. Made an appointment with specific tech online for a gel mani. I arrive and Im taken back by another tech who speaks limited english; I inquire with the front desk, as she scrolls through her cell phone not making any effort to put her phone down the entire conversation. I asked what happened to my tech, she said you didnt book with anyone specifically. I told her that I did. She said, well maybe you didnt lock her name when booking. I showed her my confirmation email which has all the details including the Techs name. She then says, OH, well, then maybe we changed your tech, on our end in our system, because shes running behind, shes going to be another hour with her current client, but ABC Tech is just as good. Keeping my composure, I went ahead with my gel mani and its the worst mani Ive ever had; nails arent even, some filed down to the quick, and, worst of all, it hasnt even been 24 hours and the gel is peeling off completely on several nails. ABC Tech speaks limited english, has vision issues, and visible arthritis; so much so that I asked her to not use the sharp cuticle cutters, to push them back instead, in fear Id be a bleeding mess. I also showed the tech a bubble in the polish and she said, oh, its fine. I had to demand that she fix it. I have to say I wouldnt be so disappointed if my expectations werent set so high based on all my other visits. I could have gone to a nail chop shop around the corner, tried my luck in getting a decent tech and saved some money.
I have a standing appt every two weeks with Thuy since May. She does a fantastic job with my gel manis and pedis. Ive never been a regular mani/pedi girl but she has converted me. My manis last the full two weeks except for where the nail has grown. I never have a problem with them chipping and my nails are healthier than theyve ever been.
As am sitting here getting my nails done I feel very dissatisfied. The place is beautiful that its almost mis leading on how cheap it is. No massage chairs, the ones they have are so far back that for a petite girl like me I have to slide to ththe front of the chair leaving an empty space on the back now my back hurts. She literally just soaked my toes in water no scrub nothing! They offered me water took it to mani station and the lady who did my nails got it full of nail dust. When I told her that the color was uneven and to clean under my nails she did it but not pleased to. I got white nails when I asked for another coat she said I mean most people get three coats I was like what!!!On to my toes, she cut my toe nail uneven and then proceeded to tell me what is it that you want me to fix I had to twist my toe to show her how UNEVEN it was, she then said ohhh and filed the living out of it causing me a heat burn from the filining too fast! I can hardly believe this woman! She sucks!!!!
I wasn’t going to write a review but decided others should know that their services do not last and are definitely not worth the money.I went to this location to get a full set. I was given a gift card so I figured I’d try it out. The girls at the desk were very friendly and helpful. I went in with a color in mind but was disappointed to find their color selection is extremely limited and I had to settle on a different color. As I was waiting to be taken back, they let me know that they could not find the tips to do my nails. After about 10 minutes, they said they found some that would do (not the ones they intended to use). This worried me but I went on with getting my nails done since I was already there and they reassured me they would be just as good.I was so surprised when I went to pay at the end. So overpriced for a mediocre service. I can see through the polish which has little bubbles in it. Not to mention it’s extremely stripey. The nails started lifting after less than a week and now after about a week and a half, just about every nail is ready to pop off.I would not recommend this nail salon to anyone. It is unbelievably over priced for terrible quality.
Pedicures are not what I expected.
