23 years now living in Raleigh and still purchasing Jewelry from CMI. I can truly say I’ve had the best experience with Tim and his amazing Staff at all three CMI Jewelry Stores. I’m a very picky lady and I already know what I’m looking for once I enter the showcase..I’ve never felt any pressure from the Staff to just settle for something.Several weeks ago I had an adjustments made on my Golf charm and since added another charm and more to be added. My rings were cleaned while I waited and they looked new when Allen gave them back to me. My Golf charm looked entirely different, it matched my chain and other charms. Awesome!I later returned with my chain and charms to be repaired. Allen looked at the hoop, said what would be done and that it would take a couple of days. The feeling of not wearing my charms was a disconnect to me. I got a call several days later from Allen my chain, hoop and charms were ready. My chain had broken with my skull pendant and I was in search of jewelry repair. My search led me to CMI Jewelry and I couldn’t have been happier. When I called, a young lady answered and confirmed that they indeed did jewlry repair...very nice. When I arrived, I met Mr Allen Little. I must say he is awesome. He took very good care of me and called a couple of days later saying my chain was ready. When I went to pick it up, I was thoroughly impressed! My chain and charms looked brand spanking new!!!! The person who helped me today was great - Im sorry I already forgot his name! D: He was a superstar, walking me through the things I brought in, and I really appreciate his time and expertise. I came in knowing next to nothing about what I had, and I left having learned a lot and having had a pleasant time doing so.Just, uh... maybe dont schedule your appraisal with Tim. Thats what I did - having been told to schedule with him in particular - and he wasnt even there for it! He personally spoke to me on the phone and scheduled this appointment himself, so theres no middleman who couldve lost the information. He was practically impossible to reach by phone, so I wasnt really surprised he didnt show up. But like I said, I was well taken care of and I had a nice time. Im not mad at all, I just hope Tim is okay.

I visited CMI Jewelry with some ideas for a 25th anniversary gift for my wife. They were ideas, not necessarily good ideas! Keith showed me some pieces and walked me through some options. After only 15-20 minutes, we designed a beautiful engraved pendant that would be a perfect gift for my wife. She loves it! I told Keith that he made me a rock star at home.I have used CMI and Keith several times over the years and have never come away disappointed. It is always a great experience.

I designed a ring for my wife over 2 years ago. One of the diamonds on the halo fell out and I brought the ring back to CMI, got it fixed, polished, and returned to me in a matter of half an hour free of charge! This team does great work and takes amazing care of their customers, so good as a matter of fact that it doesn’t feel like a business transaction at all. Check them out!

The best and most professional Jewelers with whom I have ever worked! Being relatively new to Raleigh I was adamant on finding a great trustworthy Jeweler before leaving our jewelry with them. I brought some fairly expensive jewelry that needed to be repaired to CMI because I had heard from multiple people they were very good at what they do and very reputable (a very important factor for me). The showroom inside is large and impressive. I was immediately helped and the pieces I brought were examined (a diamond ring and a diamond bracelet) and determined the repairs were minor and could be done in a matter of a few days. When we received the pieces back they were as good as new and sparkled with a cleaning that brought back the original fire-like beauty of the diamonds. Without hesitation will be back to make our jewelry purchases now that we have found such a great Jeweler!!! I would give six stars if I could.

CMI has been the only place we have purchased jewelry from since our wedding 17 years ago. We have always worked with Keith but the entire team has excellent customer service. We stop by periodically to see Keith and have all of our jewelry cleaned, new batteries installed in our watches, and have our jewelry repaired but Keith never charges us anything. We always recommend CMI to anyone looking for jewelry.

Great recent experience. Took a ring I bought in Europe to them after one of the stones fell out and was lost. They were able to source a beautiful stone and also repair the thin bezel that was breached. Of course it was a metal alloy (if that’s the right word) not used in the US so this was another complicating factor. Super nice crew. Highly recommend for complicated repairs!

I will be a customer for as long as I live in Raleigh. My experience here couldnt have gone any better. I bought an engagement ring here recently. Im a guy who knows very little about jewelry, and obviously an engagement ring is a pretty big deal. Kim, one of the owners, walked me through the entire process. He explained how different types of diamonds are graded, priced, etc, showing me why along the way. I even looked at them through the little eye piece that jewelers use so I could see what he was talking about. He also showed me the different styles of bands, explaining everything--always without an ounce of pressure. I felt comfortable every time I was in there, and they even explained that none of their employees are on commission, unlike some of the big-box diamond shops out there. Any time I need to buy jewelry, Ill be back here, and Ill encourage my friends along the way - thats how much I appreciate this place - I went from not knowing anything to a total advocate over night. Go here instead of one of the big mall shops. Youll pay a lot less for the same, if not better, quality.

My Family has shopped at CMI ever since moving to Raleigh in the early 90s. Both my Mother and Father got multiple pieces of jewelry from them, as have my brother and myself. My Wife and my brothers Wifes engagement and wedding bands have come from them. At this point they are more like family than a business.Since moving to Dallas I have yet to find a local jeweler that makes us feel like family. Whenever we are back in RDU we make a point to bring whatever needs repairing, cleaning etc. and CMI never disappoints.

Top Notch Service! Found CMI while searching online for a non-mall jewelry store. SO glad I did! Went in to have a ring resized. Was greeted by Keith immediately and served with utmost care and expertise! I will be taking my other jewelry here for service even though its covered under the mall store warranty. THE standard of jewelry retail excellence in the Triangle! I deal with Kim, but any of the staff will gladly serve you well with their expertise. One comment in response to a negative review about poor service near closing. The reviewer probably doesnt work in retail, but I do. Understand that in this profession weve chosen, the hours are long and hard, and customers, at times, can be exceedingly difficult, to say the least. When closing time approaches, were ready to go home to our families! Business hours are easily accessed; be considerate enough to allow sufficient time to conclude your business well before the time the business closes. Dont expect world class service when you inconsiderately arrive shortly before a business closing time! This should be an obvious point to anyone with any sense at all.

I went to CMI Jewelry on the recommendation of two coworkers. Both had been shopping there for over ten years each. Wow am I glad I listened to them. I simply cannot express enough how great my experience with them has been. I went in and spoke with Kim about having my wifes engagement ring redone for our 15th anniversary. I described what I was looking for and Kim went to work. They had some similar settings in stock but none that quite fit what I wanted to accomplish with the new setting. Kim never gave up and ended up ordering in 6 different settings over a period of time. As each arrived, he knew they were not quite what I wanted and kept trying. On the last one, he absolutely nailed what I wanted and actually had it made on short notice. When he contacted me and stated that this one is it. He could not have been more right! One stop shopThis place is wonderful. My husband and I visited several chain stores in search of my wedding ring. He wanted his mothers modest stone added to a band of my desire. I know I looked at over 1000 rings and felt like the only thing I could do was settle. The other stores would not consider placing his mothers stone into their bands thus we believed all hope was lost. That was until 4 months before the wedding a friend insisted that we go by CMI. I saw a very antique looking band that had designs and it was everything I had been dreaming of but could not put into words. My husband asked his dreaded question...Can you place another stone into the band and the Jeweler looked him and said Absolutely! The look of joy and tears in my husbands face...I knew we had found the right place. I had not seen his mother stone so when CMI called to say the ring was ready the agent told my husband to cover my eyes. CMI is fantastic! When my husband was picking out my engagement ring 7 years ago he specially had it made with hearts in the setting!! Then just a few weeks ago he purchased me a second wedding band. I wanted all three rings to be sauttered together, but I still wanted to see the hearts in the setting of my engagement ring. To do this, the stone in my engagement ring had to be raised and a lot of other work had to be done to achieve the look I wanted. CMI did it! My husband recently purchased a diamond ring for me in another country. Once we returned, I knew that I needed a home in my area to help me take care of this purchase. CMI guided me to insurance and also helped me to take care of my Moms cocktail ring by cleaning and appraising it. I bought an engagement ring from here, and needless to say, Keith was awesome. I live an hour and a half away from Raleigh, and over the course of ~3 weeks Keith took several phone calls per week after work hours from me. He started out explaining the engagement ring basics (the 4 Cs and what not) leading all the way up to me making a purchase. On top of that, I initially started speaking with him on the understanding I would be buying from someone local, and he was still incredibly helpful. I ended up buying from him anyways just because of how much I appreciated what he was doing for me, so he ended up shipping me what I wanted. It came incredibly quickly, which was perfect because I needed the ring ASAP.Oh and it didnt hurt that I couldnt find anywhere that could beat his price, even online.I didnt work with anyone besides Keith, but I would recommend this place in a heartbeat!

I honestly cant say enough great things about this place! My boyfriend and I were in the market for diamond engagement rings and my brother and my boss had told me about CMI. Well with all the hype about Diamonds Direct, I knew that is where we would go first. WHAT A MISTAKE! However I did not realize that until I took my brother and boss advice and went to CMI. There honestly is no comparison. Diamonds Direct I felt were very similar to car salesman. I was only shown 2 diamonds at Diamonds Direct - one very pretty and one rather yellow. I felt rushed as she was eager to get to the next person that had walked in the door.When I went to CMI, I was shown SIX different DIAMONDS and if those didnt work he said he had plenty more he could show until we found that perfect one. Not only was I amazed at how gorgeous and shinny ALL the diamonds he showed me were but also how much I was schooled on cut and color and quality. I was taught how light shines and reflects in the diamond. Also, there is no standing at counter looking at diamond with tons of people shoving to get around and look. At CMI - you actually go into your own private room where you can learn about the ring and not feel rushed or pressured. I learned so much and knew that there were no car salesman here at CMI- they knew their stuff and genuinely werent out for badgering and selling - they sold you on their quality and expertise and knowledge. They actually care and want you to understand what options you have with any budget.Finally, my last bit of advice - you dont marry the first man that comes along, you dont buy the first house that you see - ALL I can say is dont go to the first jewelry store and buy the first diamond you see. I totally understand if you want to check out Diamonds Direct - However, do yourself a favor and go to CMI as well. I will almost guarantee you will buy from CMI!!!!

Overall, in my personal experience, the service is bad. Granted, we came in 30 minutes before the store closed but The man helping us quickly said we only have limited time. Im sorry but when two people walk into your store ready to spend several thousand dollars you better give them as much time as they need. We never expected to spend a ton of time there but we wanted to be treated just as anyone else would be. When you go to a restaurant even 10 minutes before they close they cant say ok guys you have 10 minutes to sit down, order, and eat because we close soon. Its just bad customer service. He then proceeded to tell us that he didnt have very much in our price range and that he only had stuff that was bigger and more expensive than what we were looking for. I told him I wanted a ring that had a center stone between .60-.80pts in the center and I find it hard to believe that he only had items that were bigger than that. It just felt like he wasnt willing to help us. Ill never go back to CMI.

It was a wonderful experience! My fiance and I are from Fuquay Varina and CMI is well worth the drive. Everyone was more than willing to help and allowed me to take my time as I was choosing what I liked without being pushy. Would definitely recommend to anyone!

Excellent buying experience however, I was disappointed when the diamond feel off my wifes ring. If you spend thousands on an engagement, I would expect better than ship it in and pay even more money.Follow up: We had the ring repaired locally for less money and correctly for less money. I had heard great things about CMI from my coworkers and people around town and I was told to ask for Kim. I had been to Diamonds Direct by Crabtree earlier on that day to have a look and it was clear that their intentions were to sell me that day. I had no idea what I wanted to get my fiancee nor did I know much about the 4 Cs etc. Left feeling uneasy. My experience working with Kim at CMI was unparalleled. I probably ended up going 3-4 times before finally purchasing and my fiancee absolutely loves her rings. We have already been back to see Kim for our wedding bands and again, first class service. I have recommended Kim and CMI to all of my friends in the area and some of them have already gone and purchased. Incredible experience and The Knot has just recognized CMI!

The first thing they did was push me $3K over my budget and try to hard sell me on the spot, even though I told them I was not going to buy that day and wanted to shop around. I should have just gone to CMI - it was 180 degree different experience.First of all, its not crowded, so youre not fighting for space at the counter and waiting for somebody to show you pieces. Second, it was VERY low pressure. Keith asked what my budget was, and actually listened (imagine that)! He started with the number I gave him, worked backward to get the before-tax price, then we budgeted a certain amount for the setting and for the stone, based on my fiances preferences. She wanted an oval stone, so he had to order them. Two business days later, he called me, and said he had 3 stones to look for that would fit in my budget. I picked the perfect one out (I had not put any money down yet, so no commitment at all at this point).We went over the details of what the ring should look like again, he sent me a rendering of it the next day, I paid a small down payment, and less than one week later, I had the ring in hand! One week - for a completely custom-made piece! The other place said 4-6 weeks BEST CASE, and keep in mind, this was during the Holiday season. Oh, and it was EXACTLY what we had described to him. His attention to detail was astonishing.I cant speak highly enough of Keith and my experience at CMI. The process is so transparant, youll ask yourself, Whats the catch? I have to be missing something here. But its just good business, plain and simple. Go to CMI and meet Keith. Youll be more than happy with the experience and the purchase.

I went to CMI to view engagement rings fro my fiancee. I met Keith Rivenbark who informed me of all my options and pretty much educated me about diamonds. It felt like a tutorial and not a sales pitch. I ended up leaving to see my options elsewhere but deep down I was already sold. I came back a month later and purchased my ring. Keith Rivenbark is a diamond expert and after you meet with him you will feel like you are as well.

Before going to CMI, I visited all of the main big box jewelry stores, and none can compare to CMI. The selection at CMI is outstanding! I came to CMI with an idea of an engagement ring, and Philicia helped me custom design the perfect the ring. The whole process took around 3 months, and during that time Philicia was very professional and always willing to help. Contrary to other big box stores, CMI does not work off commission. In my opinion and experiences this provided me with a ring shopping experience and final product. I would highly recommend CMI and Philicia!

Its hard to explain just how amazing CMI Jewelry is without giving the whole backstory. Ill try to make it as brief as possible:I was very picky on what I wanted my engagement ring to look like, so I spent months and even went all the way to Wilmington after exhausting all of my Raleigh options to try to find the perfect ring. My now-fiance and I picked out a beautiful, vintage ring at an antique store that had a large garnet center-stone and (what we were told were) diamond clusters on both sides, set in 14k yellow gold. Bought it, loved it, took it into CMI as recommended by a friend to have the garnet replaced with a diamond.Now we originally took it to Diamonds Direct who told us they could not do what we wanted and that it wasnt possible. They even tried to sell us another one of their rings and replace the stone in that one with one they have! Upon coming into CMI, Tim informed us that it was a very easy job and he would be more than happy to work with us on our budget and find us the perfect stone. Upon examining the ring further, Tim informed us that the diamond clusters were not, in fact, diamonds, but white spinel. Spinel was a common stone for the time period (the 1930s). After some words with the individual who sold us the original piece, we came to the decision that Id feel more comfortable having the side stones replaced at CMI instead of by the antique store. Tim graciously worked with the original seller to ensure that I paid nothing for the replacement of the side stones! My fiance and I came in to pick out a center stone and were given multiple options even though what I was asking for was a bit difficult to locate. They replaced the original head with white gold to make it stronger and you cant even tell.The ring is absolutely breathtaking! I couldnt have asked for a more perfect ring. Tim did an amazing job in both the crafting of the ring, as well as the customer service and ensuring we stayed within our budget! We had such an amazing experience that I have recommended CMI to all of my friends and family and we will be purchasing our wedding bands from them, as well as any other jewelry in the future :DThis company is definitely a diamond in the rough (ba dum chi!), and its so nice to know that these types of companies still exist.
