I moved in at the beginning of August and so far so good! Everyone here is super nice and I love my roommates! The room itself is pretty big for the price that I pay and all of the amenities help to get me out of my room! I would recommend UV to anyone who’s looking to move to the area!
Moved in, nothing was cleaned. Floors were black with dirt and grime. Rooms smelled like ash and urine when we moved in.Pretty much every appliance was broken or non-functional in some way. Maintenance turnover has been extremely poor. Maintenance tickets are closed out for “fixed” issues that aren’t fixed. According to people who previously lived here, They still had tickets that weren’t closed after a year. It seems they can’t hire enough maintenance workers - ones that they can find at cheap prices - despite the property making bank off of students who can’t defend themselves against landlord/tenant law violations. Wifi is awful, especially during COVID-19 remote classes. Seen a few cockroaches to the point that I think it’s pretty much a common occurrence all over the complex. Our sink has been leaking for a month and nobody has fixed it, we have a broken washing machine, our roommate hasn’t had a working toilet in 3 weeks, the humidity in the apartment is 80% so much that we had to buy a dehumidifier to keep the mold at bay. Shelves were missing or damaged in the cabinets. The floors stick to feet and pull up. Quite literally everything has been broken since we moved in, and like a horrible little present, at least one thing breaks a day, or we find a new horrible treat awaiting us; then get endlessly strung along by the poor workers that have to deal with the gross past mismanagement and ongoing penny pinching that’s not worth the money they charge per month. It was like they hadn’t even looked at the apartment after the last people moved out.Live somewhere else, or spend your school semester chasing underpaid workers against a student housing cash cow scheme
I love UV2505! The staff is very nice and resourceful. Maintenance could be better with response to work orders. But the amenities such as the pool provide a great getaway when class is over.
I had such a great experience with the staff here. I am interested in living here next year and the staff was super helpful with all of my questions. I look forward to signing here once they begin leasing for 22-23!
I really like the size of my unit, however, I have experienced a lot of issues since moving in that seem to be due to poor property management. When I moved in, my apartment had not been cleaned at all. The walls had not been painted, and there was a strong odor of cigarette smoke in the air. The windows were noticeably dirty with nicotine and our couch was full of Juul pods, dirty socks, etc. The kitchen counters were covered in soot. As far as cleanliness goes, I’m not sure why a cleaning crew never was assigned to the apartment, but I was told later that they accidentally failed to tell the painters that our apartment was one of the ones being turned over.We have a bunch of work orders in that have been sitting for a while, but the maintenance crew can’t address them because they are currently driving the shuttle….. the bus driver quit due to being over worked.Today my last straw was the internet cutting out. It was out all day and has no fix date on the horizon. I was told by Spectrum that the property was changing internet contracts, but us residents were never informed of this change. Because of the outage, I have now missed a day at my job because I work remotely. As a student at NCSU, I am mostly taking online classes and was unable to attend those as well. I am sick at the moment, so I do not feel comfortable doing my work in a public space. After talking to previous residents, this apparently has all been a consistent issue at this property. All in all, my apartment really is nice and the people in the front office are nice, but I feel like there are some serious organizational issues from higher up that have caused my experience thus far to be less than satisfactory… especially given the price that I am paying to live here.
I did not have a pleasant time living at UV. While the rooms were spacious and the price was decent I dealt with several maintenance issues that took weeks if not months to fix. Our AC broke, the drains in my bath room and sink were slow continuously, internet issues, water pressure issues and not to mention we were without a interior door handle for weeks. On another note we also had a cockroach problem.Just my experience though. I did have a ground floor apartment.
Have had a great experience with the management so far! Love the spacious area and the way the residents are treated with the absolute truth. Rather would know that the wifi sucks and they are making changes than being promised with fake deals. Thank you for being honest!!!
The apartment itself is nice. However, the management is not very helpful. Expect bad wifi and dog poop everywhere.
UV 2505 has been so great! The amenities are amazing and the staff has been so helpful with any problem you may have. They are always there to answer any questions, which has been super helpful for my roommates and I! The rooms are super spacious and I love the bathroom and closets. Definitely a great apartment to live in!
UV at 2505 has been amazing to live in. Compared to my other student housing, the rooms, living area and kitchen are so much more spacious. Especially for the price you are paying. Just like every student housing complex you’re going to have issues, but this team is very responsive and gets on them right away. The maintenance team is wonderful and our whole apartment appreciates them very much. The amenities are great, even with COVID restrictions which the front desk does a very good job at enforcing! The staff at UV is super friendly and very open to any ideas that you have, which I love! Being away from home, you feel very welcome at UV. My roommates and I have made the best memories here and I’m so excited to call UV home again next year.
Really nice community, spacious apartments, fair pricing, and amazing staff. I’m not sure if I am biased bc of the amazing roommates I have now, but this has been my best experience with student housing. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay!
Love the people, and it’s such a great place especially for the price. Very roomy, and I especially love having a large kitchen where all my roommates can be in at the same time without feeling crowded. Only complaint is that the maintenance team is a little understaffed for how many apartments they have to help with in the complex.
My apartment is in a great place and is very comfy. It has a lot of room and the amenities are great! I love the pool and the gym and the clubhouse! The only downside is that work orders take forever to be completed, if they ever get completed.
I moved in a week and a half ago and I really love the place. The rooms are the most spacious I’ve seen in student housing, the complex is nice, and overall it has been a wonderful experience. The staff is very nice and helpful too, especially Cassie!! She helped me get an emergency maintenance issue taken care of right away and she has been so nice and helpful with everything! Highly recommend this place.
I have had an arduous and awful experience with this property and its staff as a resident. First, I will admit this propertys layout and amenities are good; but that is just it. I have had multiple maintenance problems including the A/C unit, ice machine, bathroom drains, and internet connection. One of out the four have been addressed and fixed after multiple (10+) maintenance requests to fix them over the course of a year. I have also had bug problems and key problems. You name it, I have probably experienced it. The rent is more than what the property is worth with what I have had to experience, and I have had to pay fees for which I have received no reasoning for after asking the manager of the property. I have directly contacted the manager of the property via email with these concerns in which I was not given answers to nor was I ensured that my bad experiences would be addressed. It seems that my concerns were tabled and forgotten. I do not recommend this apartment complex.
8/10 would live here again... I like when I get free stuff and all the staff members are super nice! The rooms are big
I haven’t even begun living here and I’m already dreading my time I’ll be stuck at this apartment complex. So far, all I’ve experienced are empty promises and misinformation from the staff. First, I was told different prices of the pet rent than what the price actually was. Second, I was told I would be receiving my room assignment last week (didn’t happen), then by the end of this week (still hasn’t happened). Third, I was told I would receive a call from the manager three days ago to add one of my cats onto the lease (again, didn’t happen). Also, when I took my tour at the very beginning of March I was told the fitness room would be upgraded soon, but there’s no doubt that will never happen either. I’ve also been actively trying to terminate my lease or at least reduce the rate to the current one (I signed when it was $699 and it’s now $669) due to severe money issues because of the pandemic. There’s been absolutely no help or care from the staff other than a “Oh well, we aren’t going to do anything so it’s not our problem” mentality. I’ve lost my patience, and am now about to lose a bunch of money that I don’t even have now to this sorry apartment complex.UPDATE: I have received no call nor contact of any form since posting this. I received the wrong room assignment and had to notify them not once, but twice to give me the proper room which even now I highly doubt they did correctly. Landmark properties customer service never even cared to respond to the multiple emails sent to them concerning the multitude of issues and total incompetence I’ve experienced so far. I HIGHLY do NOT recommend neither this property nor any property owned by Landmark Properties. I’ve had better customer service and care from 16 year olds working at McDonald’s.
The staff is very friendly and helpful, there are excellent amenities, spacious rooms, and great roommate matching process.
Love how big the rooms are and the staff is very responsive to all my questions. My room was very clean on move in day and looked great. Glad I chose to stay here!
The staff is great and easy to talk to. The apartments are very clean and kept up. Honestly you get the most bang for your buck regarding prices with off campus stay.
My daughter just moved in and there are cockroaches everywhere. In all of the closets, bathrooms, bedrooms, on the balcony. She sent a text with at least 20 that came out of the walls when they tried spraying. Absolutely nasty place. Other apartments are having the same issue. You would expect that they would spray before moving the kids in.
If you want to be able to actually access your apartment this is not the place to live. The gate is just there for decoration at this point because its hardly ever functional. Whenever they decide to close it, you have a slim chance of getting in because the code and the key for it do not work. So late in the evening or at night when youre trying to go home to your bed youll be stuck outside the gate with a line of people hoping someone from the inside will come out through the other side so you can all zoom in after them. Im pretty sure having access to your apartment is the most basic tenant right so Im confused as to why they dont take the issue more seriously. I guess because the majority of the residents are students they feel that they can take advantage of us.
Don’t just take a look at the good looking buildings, outside and the pool and sign up.The amount of problems with the place was insane. For the last week I haven’t even had A/C, called four days in a row to fix it, and still the apartment complex has done nothing about it. To put it nicely the place is a giant mess. The Wifi is horrendous for phone and for PC/Xbox.About 8 visitors spots which is extremely low considering the amount of empty spaces left open during the year. The pool area looks like it hasn’t been cleaned up in two years, although the pool itself is nice. The chairs outside are fried and are literally dusting. It’s tough getting ahold of maintenance and having situations worked out.The gate is pointless and doesn’t work, so there’s holes where people have crawled through the gate.POS
The office staff is always super helpful and I love the style of these apartments!
Overall great experience, apartments have wonderful upgraded features that are very aesthetically appealing (stainless steel appliances, granite counter tops, etc.) Customer service in the office is accommodating and tend to your needs as they come. Parking can get kind of full at times, but their are plenty amount of spaces, just may need to walk a bit if coming in at late hours in the night. Overall great experience for the past two years, only downfall is that some residents may be a bit rowdier at times of the night but it is to be expected at a student housing apartment complex, for me, however, it doesn’t take away from the quality of living. Thankful to have made this decision.
Darius kindly showed me all of the ins and outs of this place. It is a great place and I will definitely be staying here next year!
The staff here is amazing! Always ready to help with anything that I have ever needed. I feel like there is always some sort of event going on, which is awesome. If I could rate higher than 5 stars, I would. If youre looking to lease from here, ask for Marshall, hes always on the ball.
Great staff and great people in the organization, but the internet (wifi not ethernet) at my apartment was not good. Our washer was said to have had a completed work order, but it still needs to be fixed/replaced. I had a problem with my car being towed even though I had a parking pass. However, Landmark Properties did a great job with this issue and resolved it with the towing company straightaway even though I was at fault for wrong placement. The shuttle drivers Dominique and James are cool.
Lived here about 6 months now, and resigned my lease to live here until next year. For the price, you can’t beat it. The apartment comes with furniture and all appliances and utilities are included. Plus, there’s a pool and it’s pretty central to everything in the Raleigh area. Some of the people I’ve dealt with could have better attitudes, but other than that I enjoy living here and the only reason I would move is because of the distance it is to my work in Durham.
Darius and Alex were extremely helpful during my lease takeover and made sure I had all of the paperwork I needed for a successful moveout before my co-op.
Would NOT recommend signing with this complex. Ever since Landmark Properties has taken over management this property has gone continually downhill.TL;DR:- Constant problems with the gate which were not present last year, with no fix in sight- ALL visitors spots removed from inside the complex and theyve gotten rid of visitor passes (ridiculous for a college apartment!)- Horribly unresponsive maintenance- New management not regularly emailing complex on important changesI lived at this property last year as well as this year, so I am able to directly compare between the last management and the new one.First, THE GATE:This is a gated complex, but the management only uses the gate once every few weeks, with seemingly no logic as to when it closes. They gave us key fobs to open the gate, but they never worked so they emailed everyone in the complex THE SAME CODE, making it essentially a pointless gate. Also, this is a minor issue but since the keyfobs dont work, you have to get out of your car to unlock the gate with the code since the keypad is too far to reach from a car.Furthermore, since the key fobs dont work the walk-in gate doesnt work either (because there isnt a keypad for that gate) so you have to walk through the road to enter the complex on foot (which is dangerous!). The key fobs worked last year but they dont work this year. They said they needed time to fix things but its been literally a FULL SEMESTER and they still havent fixed it or even emailed us updates as to whether its been even worked on.Second, THE VISITOR SPOTS,The complex was built to have 1 spot for *every* resident in the complex, *PLUS* additional visitor spots inside of the complex. The new management has gotten rid of ALL of the visitor spots inside the complex, claiming that because the complex is gated there shouldnt be visitors spots inside the complex, despite the complex being BUILT to have visitor spots AND the gate not working properly! So now, our only visitor spots for the ENTIRE complex (which holds several hundred people) is about 5 spots at the entrance.Oh, they also got rid of visitor passes from last year so that your visitors could park in any spot. Dont live here if you have friends, I guess...Third, THE MAINTENANCE.Or should I say, the lack thereof! Last year, I wouldnt say the maintenance was stellar but they were usually pretty on top of things. This new maintenance is essentially nonexistent. You have to make multiple maintenance requests to get any response and even then you might not get anything fixed.Just for an example, our ice maker in the fridge has been broken since mid-September. This review is posted in late December. Ive submitted at least 5 maintenance requests for the ice maker. I still dont have ice!The complex is almost five years old now and there has been some evidence of it showing its age. I might excuse this because it is after all a college apartment. BUT, its unacceptable if the maintenance doesnt make an effort to fix things.Fourth, THE EMAILS,Last years management would routinely send us updates on changes in the complex, such as changes to the bus schedule due to holidays.I havent received an email from the new management in almost a month. They DO email us occasional things but not routinely and also not for things residents should know, about such as holiday bus schedules or them getting rid of visitor spots & passes! There are some positives; the office staff are friendly and the apartments are very large and in general of good build quality for their price point (currently about $700/mo for my lease). It should also be noted that since its under new management the complex might go up in price despite a drop in quality! Also be aware that Landmark Properties owns The Station, Campus West, and The Standard.I will happily change my review if they fix things! I liked living here last year and am just very unhappy with how things have changed. Who knows how much worse it might be next year if they dont step up and try to get things back on track!
I have lived at UV 2505 for two years now and it has been a pleasant experience both years. The front office staff are always kind to me and are willing to help with whatever Ive needed! I will be living here again next year.
I lived here for two years. Everything seems fine from a distance, but for the price of the place I would have expected better management, better maintenance, and better apartments.- For starters, the walls and doors are VERY thin. It is very loud.- The staff is arrogant and manipulative. They are fake to your face, and tell everyone something different.- If you have a dog and they tell you to not worry about putting a deposit for the dog, DONT LISTEN. I was told by staff it was fine to have one without paying, but then was randomly charged about $300 dollars for an illegal pet. They had gone into my room and taken a picture of the kennel when I was not there!! Which is illegal. They then proceeded to tell me I was wrong and a liar.- So much for a gated community when the gate is always broken.- When you move out, watch out for unprecedented fees. They tried charging me for missing keys and a carpet cleaning, never contacted me about it, and sent it immediately to a collections agency. If I hadnt caught it, my credit would have seriously suffered. In summary, look elsewhere.
I would rate 4 and a half starts, but theres no half option. Gym has all equipment I need. Love the large size of the bedroom/bathroom. Staff is friendly and helpful. Free shuttle is extremely convenient.
Its a beautiful apartment complex but for the cost you can find better! The gated community aspect was a lie because that gate hasnt worked for almost a year and they just now fixed it. The walls are paper thin and you can hear all your roommates. I paid $700 for something others got for $630. I dont understand the jump in price especially to have to share it with 3 other people. I would defiantly consider looking at other place before you make the decision to sign the lease!
My only complaint is the shuttle does not always run. For this much money, one of the office staff should have ti drive it. I really enjoy living here. The apartments are really nice and rooms are big.
I have lived here so far for about a month and a half. Things have been fine, for the most part. There is a lot of mold in the walls here, so be aware of that before singing a lease. It is also hard to get management/maintenance to take you seriously, and they mostly just brush off your requests for things to be fixed. The wifi also barely works, which is inconvenient for doing school work. The apartment itself is super nice, but I wish that things worked better than they do.
I have worked with the UV2505 team since this past summer, and have been blown away by their high level of customer service. Between the amenities and events they plan for residents: they have created a really special and enjoyable home for the residents!
Horrible Internet that is extremely slow. The wi-fi does not work at all in my particular room. The frontdesk tells me to call the provider because they cant do it for some reason. The walls are extremely thin and during my stay the toilet, the sink faucet nozzle, and the ice dispenser broke.
Some properties are better than others. Some are more well kept. The office staff seems more attentive to people who live at UV at 2505 than where I live. Some of the office staff wont acknowledge you when you come in the office and they dont really do anything about roommate situations.
The apartments are nice and all but the management is so terrible. A girl got robbed at gunpoint in our parking lot and my truck and 3 others were broken into in the parking lot despite the security who apparently didnt hear anything. All that has happened, yet the gates are constantly broken and never closed. One of their selling points is a gated community, it sure is gated, but the gates are NEVER closed. As far as management goes, theyre lazy and rude. Literally every time I have gone into the office everyone in there is on their phones and ignores me until I go up to them. Its as if I am annoying them. It took from the day I moved in in August until October to get my ice maker fixed, which it got fixed and still doesnt work. Ive gone into the office with a problem and told I would get a call back about it and 4 weeks later still no call. Forget about getting anything fixed with a maintenance request, you have to go straight to the maintenance people to get anything fixed. Avoid this place as the office staff and all management is completely terrible.
Over the weekend with the cold weather my apartments heat went out. The maintance guy Mr.Lee, came by that night to check out the problem and also went out to the store late that night to get us heaters to put in all of our rooms and set them up. We were very appreciative of Mr.Lee staying so late to make sure we were warm with the cold weather!
The apartments themselves are really nice. The biggest bedrooms youll find around here, and the kitchen is HUGE. As someone who spends a lot of time in my room, I *love* the extra space. And this is up to personal preference, but I really like the style of the buildings and decor. The walls are thin though, so Im glad I have fairly quiet roommates. The amenities are all nice and I dont find myself really missing anything. All things considered, the rate is pretty reasonable. However, the maintenance and upkeep are subpar. My apartment wasnt in great shape when I moved in (small things broken, bad paint jobs, lots of dust), and it took almost a month for some of the work orders I submitted on move-in day to be addressed. Some still havent been fixed. The community printer was down for a few days because apparently they dont keep ink refills in stock, and the elevator in my building (2520) has been broken for three days at the time Im writing this. I think their maintenance team has to cover like three different properties, so theyre way overworked. And its not a problem per se, but I do wish they had another shuttle bus so it could run a little more often. I think they could stand to hire some more staff so things could run smoother in general. But overall Im quite happy with my experience at this complex so far.
The staff is awesome and friendly. They do a lot to help you, and whats better than coffee 24/7?
It’s cheap but you get exactly what you pay for. They have no visitors spots but send tow trucks out every night to try and get anyone they can, including your guests. All of the resident events they advertise usually turn out to be very exaggerated in terms of what they are actually providing for the residents.
I would give 0 starts if that were possible. The management at UV2505 is super rude, they dont take you seriously, and they make fun of you if you have any type of complaint. The maintenance is barely helpful- I sympathize with them because they have to work here, where management is so rude. My apartment has had a ton of issues, and I have only lived here for about a month and a half. We have mold, the air inside is ridiculously humid, some appliances are broken/falling apart, and because of the air being so humid, some of my roommates and my clothes have grown mold. It is disgusting. Management doesnt take these types of problems seriously, although theyll probably respond to this post saying they want me to contact them (which Ive already done), and they want to help, which is just not true. I strongly encourage those looking at UV as a place to live in the future to not live here. Definitely not worth the money.
EDIT: As you can see they reached out to me and attempted to save face by apologizing publicly. I emailed them as I was prompted to (for a third time) and have yet to hear back. Furthermore, another one of my roommates was able to get the some of her charges dropped after repeatedly calling, emailing, and showing up to the complex. This just shows that they as a company take advantage of their tenants, and rely on the tenants inability to rebuke their charges. They elicit fear mongering by only sending out a final notice a week till the due date so that tenants believe they have no other option than pay. Don’t do it!Do not spend your hard earned money on renting with this company. I lived there for two years and I very much valued and appreciated the amenities that they offered, the shuttle, resident events, etc., but they do not outweigh the negative experience that I endured while moving out. Upon moving out this past summer, I was charged with a replacement fee (unbeknownst to me until months later) for damage that another tenant had caused, and ultimately I had to pay for those damages otherwise they would ruin my credit. Although the problem was predominantly with the tenant that acted irresponsibly, I do not believe it was fair to charge the other tenants (as it was not just myself paying) to fix the damages. I understand that they need someone to cover those charges, but it should have been handled differently. Additionally, I was not sent a notice like they said I was of an overdue balance to my forwarding address and just received an email a few days ago urging me to pay otherwise it would be sent to collections. I essentially had a week to pay a large sum of money without any warning. The management is incredibly disappointing, and I am ultimately saddened by this experience. As someone who spent around $15,000 with this company, always paid my rent on time, advocated for the complex, and participated in events, it is not that Im unwilling to pay my fair share, it is that I was essentially screwed over by the tenant, and more importantly the company. As someone who has worked in customer service, I know the management will see this and will think to discredit me, but I would like to help others make better choices for their living arrangements. There are other student complexes that you can choose to give your money to and I strongly urge you to do so.
Theyre friendly in person until you have a problem. My room had 2 dirty pairs of underwear, a crushed beer can, and cobwebs on every corner when I moved in. I also didnt have a mattress which was delivered to me 5 hours after I moved in.The shower didnt work until I had to physically go in person to get someone to fix it. Dog urine sat in my baseboards until I moved out. I put in 3 work orders to get dog pee removed and while I was moving out, they came to fix it.Walls are paper thin, its unbelievable. If you have any sense of privacy/concerns about noise- DO NOT LIVE HERE. I was so disappointed because it looks decent at first.Parents: Gate doesnt work, there was a kidnapping in the parking lot, not a very safe area. There are better options. The one star can go towards having your own private bathroom. Thats it.
I couldnt have found a better place to live. My experience with the staff has been great. I got my own car towed here once which was pathetic but the staff helped me get some of my money back.
University Woods has been everything I expected it to be, the staff at the main office are friendly if you need anything but will leave you alone if not. We had some maintenance problems but they got taken care of right away when the office was notified. The only thing that needs improvement is the noisy neighbors but I am not sure how much the office can do.
I love living here! I love the size of our apartment and the clubhouse that we get to utilize everyday. The only thing that gets confusing at times is when everyone isnt on the same page in the office!
I’ve been here for approximately 8 months and will be so happy when I leave in July. This place appears nice. However, don’t let appearances fool you. Let’s start with the shuttle. Ken and James, the shuttle drivers, are nice guys and they made the experience far more enjoyable. However, before James was hired, Ken was off and the property manager was driving. I needed to be picked up from Centennial that day, and got her phone number and her word that she would. I called 3 times and no answer. As this was the end of the run time for the shuttle which is extremely inconvenient, even though they changed when it runs, I had to walk back to the complex. Not cool. That’s just a summary for the rest of the review. Maintenance here sucks, they take forever to fix the little things. In addition, the practices of maintenance are questionable, one guy told me he fixed a wire to a fridge in this complex by splicing 3 other wires together. That can be a safety hazard. Next let’s move onto security or lack there of. Let me make one thing very clear, I moved here because it was a gated community. However, the gate is hardly ever closed and as a result people come in here wheneve they darn well feel like it. Both for parking and off the streets. They used to have a security guy sitting out by the gate every night. However, they switched companies and the new one don’t give a rat about anything in here. I hardly ever see them out here, sitting. So as a result parking here is ridiculous. That brings me to my next point, parking. If you think you are guaranteed a spot in this complex, guess again! Parking is not enforced, ever. I’ve counted many cars without permits or visitors passes in and around my complex. My roommate has had to park in the street several times and I’ve had to almost follow suit. Even if you leave at 2 AM and are gone a whopping ten minutes, I promise you your spot will be taken. Finally let’s move on to the office staff, I can count, on one hand, the amount of times I’ve gone down there and run into someone who isn’t rude. That’s sad. Most of them act like it’s a burden to assist you and give you dirty looks the entire time your there. If you are a college student and looking for a place to live this next year outside of NCSU. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from here.
Ive lived at UV2505 for 6 months now and by far it has been a great experience! Of course, every place will have its pros and cons. So, Ill start with the pros.Pros:1. This apartment complex has modern and up to date appliances2. Close proximity to NC State Campus3. UV2505 provides many amenities outside of your apartment such as; Shuttle to and from campus, computer lab, free printing, coffee, tanning bed, and a gym.4. It is a gated community. ( Apparently there have been some reviews stating that the gate doesnt work half the time.) But, this year they have been making an effort.Cons:1. Shuttle breaks down quite often. (P.S. Think itll be a great time to invest in a new bus as they are opening a new complex 1820 at Centennial)2. Gate sometimes jams.3. The intercom to enter the complex in case you have guest doesnt work. Which sucks if its cold and raining!4. Maintenance does take some time responding to request.5. It does take a while for the staff to place mail in the proper box.SIDENOTE: As a Off-Campus Student Apartment, this is a little pricey! But, out of all complexes across NC State and Merediths campus this is the most nicest and upscale furnished complex youll find in Raleigh.
For the two years that I have been a resident here at UV 2505, I have had great service from the office staff and have gotten to know them personally. The amenities, such as the pool and clubhouse, tanning bed, and gym are all wonderful facilities I have used multiple times.
Although my time here is nearing the end I wanted to take the time to write this review and let you know of the incredible rock stars that I work with from the office staff to the maintenance team. I feel they are most definitely experts in their field I’ve seen them go completely out of their way to help residents,as a bus driver I’ve seen them spare no expense when it comes to safety and comfort of their Clientele. I will truly miss them they say people don’t quit jobs they quit bosses well that is not the case here. My boss is The best manager I’ve ever had the pleasure of working for. she is truly an asset to the preiss Company. I think it will be impossible to find a manager that will measure up to her. I work here not because I need the money because I enjoy my job and my coworkers. I am only leaving because my husband got a job out-of-state so I have no choice but to leave this place and the wonderful group of people that I work with. I have been driving for many years and I’ve worked for a lot of companies but I have to let you know they are at the top of their class. they are professional, caring, kind, and aknowledgeable friendly staff. So, if you are looking for a job or looking for a great place to live, I would give this place five stars or more if I could and highly recommend university village at 2505 and The Preiss Company.
Probably the WORST experience I have EVER had. The only thing the office staff is actually good at is sitting on their asses acting like theyre job is important. If you have ever had the pleasure of working with Lindsay not only does she walk around like she has something shoved up her ass her face also insinuates her obviously superior personality.. shes a real treat. The older blonde.. so sorry your job is to babysit a bunch of college students but thats not excuse to not do your job. The entire office could care less about anything you have to say. They will willingly stick anyone in your apartment even with no notice. Not to mention barge into your home anytime they feel like it. Do you have a pet? Lock it up. I came home to find our door wide open with my cat no where to be found, 3 hours later I found her tangled up in thorns in the woods behind my apartment that was fun. Maintenance sucks. I didnt even bother calling them anymore they never come. My apartment had multiple cars keyed and tires slashed guess what preiss company did.. nothing. Literally a card board box would be better than living anywhere associated with the UV2505.
Great maintenance!!!! and decent office service, although the cost is expensive and sometimes the bus and internet is unreliable. had an okay experience here as a college student, but i would suggest picking roommates before getting paired with someone AWFUL. also sometimes feels like a frat house...
Walls are paper thin and there is an air duct above every door which lets in sound from the common area. Management and front office are unhelpful/rude and show no interest in you or if your apartment has problems. The front gate didnt work for months even though this is a gated community. Shuttle driver is reckless and rude to students. There was also an armed kidnapping in the parking lot. Also our AC was broken for days at a time and the maintenance service here is a joke. Do not live here. Almost any other apartment is better than here. I would give 0 stars if possible.
DO NOT LIVE HERE!!!! Its very over priced, the staff is super rude and care only about money. The gate never works so when it says gated- community, ISSA LIE. They tried to charge me a $65 cleaning fee for my desk. Mind you I never used the dumb desk. You would thing they would hire a cleaning company before you move out regardless. HORRIBLE. Yall save ya money and go somewhere else
I didnt have any problems regarding roommate matching or the apartment itself, but Id say that the office staff sucks and it takes forever for maintenance to fix something (my roommates and I went a week with a broken microwave). When you walk into office you either have to stand there forever or actually walk up to someone or you wont get acknowledged. Its like youre bothering them and its their job.As far as the apartment, they are pretty nice. Any noise in the kitchen or living room area travels into the bedrooms which can get extremely annoying. I thinks its because of the vents over the doors. The gates are never closed as they claim this to be a gated community and when someone visits the gate system is set up so stupid and complicated.
Awesome company to work with as a vendor! One of inkfnity printings favorites.
Always helpful and extremely nice. Ive lived with the Preiss company for close to four years now and every time I have had an issue it has been fixed promptly.
I dont normally post reviews of apartments until after I move out, but my experience here has been so unsavory that I feel the need to share it especially while theyre still leasing for the next school year... So if youre someone looking at Google reviews trying to decide whether to lease here, hi, heres an accurate review from a real resident (youll notice a lot of recent five star reviews are from people who work here 🤔🤔🤔). This place had a 2-star rating last time I checked and it looks like management has been trying to beef it up artificially during lease season. I think 2 stars is about right, but Im putting one star as a counterweight for reviews from people who dont even live here.Cons:- Gated community? Gates only closed about half the time. (Not so) coincidentally, on the nights its wide open Ive had to park halfway across the complex because randos will drive right in and park in resident spots.- THIN WALLS THIN WALLS THIN WALLS! This has been a huge complaint in other low reviews and Im here to corroborate it. I can hear my roommates whispering through a closed door, as well as hear normal conversations through two closed doors. Another review also mentions a weird useless vent that lets in light and noise to rooms from the kitchen and yeah, its annoying. Loud doors.- The whole place feels kinda fratty at times. Its cool if thats what youre looking for, but Ive had to walk past the same empty beer cans in my stairwell for the past month, and there have been multiple loud parties in my building, which gets annoying if youre not about that life. Not really faulting the complex for that, but yeah. Also, people will idle their loud trucks and motorcycles for 10+ minutes at any given time. Im on the fourth floor and can still hear it very clearly... Goes with the aforementioned thin walls complaint.-Interior feels kinda cheap. Other reviewers have mentioned the weird fake wood tiling that peels up with every step in the kitchen/bathrooms. Kitchen space is a tad small for four people.-Office/Management: I always feel like Im bothering the people in the office when I go to get a package/ask a question. Also the office smells like someone dumped like four bottles of perfume on the carpet. Sad! They put me and my designated roommate (who has a cat) with a girl whos allergic to cats (and I think it was marked on her lease that she was allergic as well), so my roommate has had to keep her cat in her tiny room the whole year. Prior to move-in I was sent like three different leases with three different addresses/sets of roommates, which was confusing and showed a lack of organization which should have been a red flag from the get-go.Also they forced a doormat on us at move-in and said it was $65 if it got damaged in any way?-Elevator in my building has repeatedly been broken and/or sketchy.Pros:-The general aesthetic/grounds maintenance is nice-Rent is cheap for Raleigh and for the general location. Like really cheap. Should have clued me in to all the cons, but I came from a town where I got twice the room 4x the quality for nearly half the rent and wasnt accustomed to how high rent is in a real city.-Pest control is good, I havent seen any pests the whole time Ive lived here-Gym has the essentials.-Resident events: if youre into getting free pizza/breakfast like once a week and thats all you look for in a place, then by all means live here. Times are sometimes weird though so if youre someone whos on campus from 8 to 5 youre gonna miss most of these events.Summary: if youre a frat/srat star and/or know all the people youre moving in with (and are fine with any noise they may make because you will hear it) and are looking to save money, live here. If youre a deep sleeper thatll probably be a plus. This review is subject to update, this is just everything I could think of off the top of my head.
They do not have their tenants best interest and I believe color plays part in that the priess company doesn’t treat every tenant the same way and will allow some to be continuously harassed by neighbors and false police calls roaches taking over the apartment work orders ignored for months so the roaches have time to Multiply they do not care for everyone that’s stays there
Avoid this dump ran by morons. No operating dishwasher at move in...replacement took 3 weeks. Ugly butterfly moldings still stuck to the door...maintenance just painted over it. Fake wood floor peels up under your foot with each step. Unbearably loud AC unit that will barely work. Most importantly, even though you pay to live there, they will tow your car with no warning or explanation, and never check their system....and then proceed be very rude about it. Awful place.
I would give this place a -5 stars if only possible. Terrible place to rent from, cheap everything and 180 dollar application fee. I had a specific incident where I needed a sublease and apparently got one real quick. However they failed to call me until after they started the walk through and said I still had stuff in there. I had to be on the phone for hours (because I was visiting family out of town). I had to get a friend to grab my stuff and apparently another roommate throw his stuff in my room instead of the dumpster. They then decided to charge me, I got my roommate to basically admit over texting that it was his stuff and emailed it to Lauren Byrley (whom is incompetent in her work and also works at the main office 2505 university village building). She refused to talk to me after trying to call her multiple times and wanted to speak with my parents....Im 23 in the military and the only person to sign the lease...she was rude immature and unprofessional. I had to email the CEO and founder Donna and Amy preiss the whole situation before they forward me to the manager of the area. They can try to take me to small claims but wont win because I have proof that the trash in my room was not mine. Stay away from this place at all cost. Not worth it under any circumstances at all. And the roommate was Trent Satterfield. Watch out for him as well if ever becoming a roommate with him. And all of this could have been avoided if Lindsay Greene (one of the staff members) had actually done her job and contact me to let me know ahead of time of the sublease. And the manager even asked me to consider removing this review...
Marshall is always helpful and truly cares about the community.
University Village at 2505 is a great company! There are always there if you need help with something or if we need something fixed in our apartment!
I was in the midst of preparing to take someones sublease for UV2505. Taking the sublease meant that I would be taking the apartment in an as is condition, where there was a giant stain on the bedroom carpet. If I signed, I would be liable for this damage which would costly nearly $500, as said per management. However, Lindsay Greene from Preiss management told me not to sign anything until the resident who is leasing the place and the resident who is currently living their under a summer sublease take care of the stain. Additionally, Lindsay Greene from Preiss management said that I was first in line for this sublease and there was no body behind me. I was told not to worry and to get the stain taken care of first before I sign anything.I have been in the process of coordinating with the owner of the apartment and the current summer subleaser to take care of the stain for the past 2 weeks. Additionally I have been in contact with management constantly, have seen the actual apartment, and even met one of the current tenants. All was good until this past Monday...I received a call from Lindsay at Preiss management saying an individual signed up for the sublease I was lined up for and I now cannot live there.Keep in mind this is the same Preiss management person, Lindsay Greene, that told me NOT TO SIGN ANYTHING and that THERE IS NO ONE ELSE INTERESTED. Her excuse was on the basis of first come, first served. Yet, this practice is irrelevant with this company because they obviously care more about money than they do about their residents both present and future.Lindsay Greene and Preiss management did not even bother to call or email me to let me know that another individual was interested. If anyone had done just that, a simple phone call or email, I would have acted accordingly and wouldve signed the lease ASAP, in addition to making sure the stain was taken care of. However, that was too difficult for the Preiss management office. The individual I was going to sublease from was shocked too. He had no idea that there was someone else taking the lease. He and I were working hard together for me to take his lease for the year. Preiss Managements decision to go ahead with a lease for someone else and not inform us about ANYTHING until it it was too late surprised us both, and Im sure theyll surprise you too in one form or another if you decide to consider living in UV 2505 or any property under the Preiss management.
Nice apartments, great staff, awesome place to live
If I could give 0 stars, I would. The amenities are nice, and there are granite countertops so if thats what youre into, the hype is REAL. However, when we moved in, the apartment wasnt clean, there were lightbulbs out, stains all over my carpet, and various issues all over the place. Additionally, the laminate sticks to your feet as you walk around. Dont expect maintenance to help unless you harass the hell out of them. The biggest problem (as many others have expressed) is the management. Walk into the clubhouse for service and theyll ignore you and sit on their phones. Theyre extremely rude and unhelpful if any problem arises. PS they still havent given us one of our keys (that we shouldve gotten the FIRST DAY) because they havent got around to it.In summary, the amenities and general aesthetic of the apartments are nice but dont expect good service.
Worst experience, staff is a bunch of college kids, got in trouble with the law, got my charges dropped, and they served me wwith eviction papers. They are disorderly, rude, and no help if by have problems with your roomates . Ive also had to dispute charges when then changer my roommates room caparet and they charge everyone in the house. There lying sleez bags. Run. >one star
Terrible experience with Elizabeth Wright. I got released from the hospital a week ago and had trouble with the residents living above me making excessive noise during the day and night time since I developed migraine headaches resulting from the medications Im required to take in order not to die. I complained to the manager Elizabeth Wright and was promptly yelled at and kicked out of her office. I showed nothing but respect and politeness during the interaction yet they still tried to strong arm me and provided no help what so ever. Even just last night at 4AM I could hear a boy and girl talking at a very high volume. If this is how they treat their residents who almost died I can only imagine how they treat their residents who are healthy and alive. Please stay as far away from the Preiss company and Elizabeth Wright in particular.PS - She also hung up the phone on me while I was in mid sentence twice and then had the audacity to lie to my face and say that the connection cut out. Unprofessional considering Im paying her salary.
Great experience. Staff is extremely helpful
It looks great when you take the 10 minute tour of the property, which if you were going to live here 10 minutes would be great. You pay for a gated community but the gates have been consistently broken more often than working, so they are just left open, which a handful of times this year we had bums begging for change as a result of easy access. Im pleasantly surprised that the wifi is currently working well enough for me to post this review as it is terrible. If you had paid more attention on your tour like I wish I had, the doors all have vents over them connecting each bedroom to the common area in the apartments. This is to allow airflow through the apartment, but with greater air flow comes greater sound flow if you know what I mean. Im also kind of tired of walking up and down disgusting stairs and hallways from all of the split beer, throw up, cigarette butts, and just general trash. Oh and be sure to watch out for poop when walking around, just never walk anywhere except sidewalks and you will be good. Ill end on a positive note though, theres granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances.
The apartment is nice but their shuttle is unreliable and constantly breaks down, which makes things difficult if it is your only way to get to campus.
The loose my mail constantly, they close before the hours posted on the door and they are run by morons
I do not live at UV but I do my rent with them and everything is awesome!
Management and services are close to non-existent. Fines and fees at move out for no apparent reason. Overall, stay away.
Everything sucks
Love it!
