I just moved in at The Crossings at Alexander Place and want to share my experience so far. Ive been working with Caitlin and she has been on the ball with everything. The numerous times Ive emailed her, she was quick to respond and answer all my questions. Shes very informative, friendly and professional. Ive called the office a few times and spoke with other office staff members (Gabby and Jessica) and they too were very kind and helpful. Ive met one maintenance technician, Terry, and he too was wonderful. Hes very friendly, kind and professional and really knows his stuff. Im big on customer service and this place REALLY knows customer service. Needless to say, I couldnt be happier with my experience here thus far.
I recently applied to live here. The property was beautiful. Gabby was ok on the tour, but somewhat dismissive based on our move date. We applied and were denied, she said she would send an email as to why. My credit is average (I have daily access to it), good rental history and no judgements or evictions. Im pretty sure that federal law requires details of a denial. The denial makes no sense and when I called back to request the information, no one answers the phone.
I have lived here for about 5 months now. I have had zero issues with anybody. The main office staff are responsive and friendly. I had the pleasure of dealing with Kate when I first moved in and have had communications with everyone else since. ZERO issues and nothing but good things to say about all of them. The main reason for this review is for the service team. Professional and invested in making sure the residents and property are taken care of. For every bad review you read there are 200 good experiences that never get mentioned. I have met a few of the guys and they have been friendly and on point with ALL requests, no matter how big or small, big deal or not, rain or shine, they are on it. Did I mention RAIN? Yes, who else would change out something as small as weather stripping, on a garage door, in the rain.......these guys do. Keep up the good work, your efforts do not go unnoticed. Crossings AP Service Team ROCKS!!I have enjoyed living here the past 5 months. Thanks for making it a pleasant and enjoyable experience.
The management as well as the leasing consultants are very professional, responsive, cooperative, and supportive. They always listen and understand to our requests/concerns and respond positively.I recommend this wonderful community to tenants who are looking for a wonderful place and exceptional staff.
PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF BEFORE SIGNING A LEASE!!!!!!!!Please save yourself before signing a lease over here by reading all the low rated review (all of THEM are so true). To begin, I recently moved to NC and called them from different state and they sounded nice and worked on everything.I did saw the apartment as walk in tour, the apartment wise it is good. Well the they have different plans and you should make sure the plan is good as some of them are really old apartments with new paints.Within two days I have this lousy neighbor upstairs and I complained to them, they told me to call 911. After from the lousy neighbor their wood floors are retching so anytime some ones walks you have this continuous sounds. Lets agree that you do have little noises from upstairs but this cheap apartments have very bad sound absorption and bad flooring so you feel upstairs are living with you. The whole apartment thuds and vibrates, you can hear every sound and most of the talks from upstairs. Also they have very bad shock absorption and sound absorption so even someone flushes upstairs you can hear it loud and cleat though your music is playing. With all the worst experience within the first week on my move-in, they told me they can transfer the apartment but I have to prorate the charges for other apartment. With on time I have to re-pack everything and move from current apartment to their new apartment. When I asked this isnt fair the true management style was shown. All the sweet and happy faces are only available till you sign the lease. Any issues are Ordinary for them and its like of your fault to have them.I have stayed in multiple apartments but never had this issues anywhere. And this lousy neighbors who plays ball inside the apartment (I have a video of all the sounds and neighbor admitting to that) the leasing people dont care as long they get their money. I am just wishing my leasing term ends or something good happens to leave this place without losing money.
We stayed at these apartments for three years. We lived in one building for two years. Carpet wasn’t replaced when we moved out and we did leave some questionable stains on the carpet. We believed they didn’t charge us because we signed a one year lease. Stayed in another building for one year and once we terminated our lease, they decided to charge us to replace the whole carpet. Apartment was clean. We had no pets, just a toddler. We did leave some stains on the carpet in the living room and dining room due to foot traffic as well however we feel as though the carpet could have been professionally cleaned. I think they are money hungry because people have been moving out. I was very disappointed that they shocked us with these charges because we never had any major issues with the apartment. We paid rent on time. No complaints were filed on us that I know of. Respectful to staff. Be careful when you move out. Expect charges out of no where. Staff is nice but you get screwed at the end. Definitely wouldn’t recommend any of my friends or family or strangers to move here and will spread the word.
This place is HORRIBLE! My friend lives in this apartment complex and has had a lot of maintenance issues with her AC going out and needing to get several things replaced. Do not live here. They will not let you have visitors for long periods of time. The people that work here will stalk you and literally look for things in your apartment. The apartments are not well maintained either. I would not recommend anyone to live here.
Hello,Posting this review at the end of my time here. They are not upfront about the charges that they will levy upon you in the move-out process, especially if you have a pet.Be prepared to be charged to replace the entire apartments carpet even if there is a stain in only one room (which they determine by pulling up the carpet), and even if that carpet quality was subpar and was highly likely to be replaced soon in any case. They are also not upfront about water and sewer charges since they are happy to have these handled by a third party, Yes Management, who estimates how much in terms of utilities you will have used. A portion of the utility billing is 2 months behind, so your final bill isnt based on metered charges (meaning you will likely pay more than you owe, which they shrug off).Consider other options in the area if you are (or intend to become) a pet owner.
Lived here for almost 1 year and our apartment had a massive ant problem on the 3rd floor. The ants all of a sudden came out of air vents, door frames, the dry wall in every single room by the thousands even though we kept our place very clean. We called office who said that a lot of other ppl in the complex also had this issue. They provided pest control but the guy that came said that the ants have nested inside the foundations of the entire building and there wasn’t anything they could really do. No further action was taken and this situation persisted literally until we moved out. I would not recommend this place to anyone. They advertise this place as “luxury” and while I did not have high expectations- it was not a decent place to live.
Classy and professional. I have been staying here from past 4 months. They do care about the tenants lot more than what we think. Community is calm and great.
The Crossings at Alexander Place has been ideal for my wife and I. Very convenient to shopping and the airport. A two-bedroom floor plan that has exceeded our expectations and with the addition of a garage... what can I say, its been perfect. Love shooting baskets on the indoor court and using the great exercise equipment. Cant wait for the awesome looking pool to open for the season. Happy!
Ive lived here for the past three years and for the most part, I havent had any major issues. The staff have always been friendly and worked very hard to keep the community nice and clean. They also prepare a few events throughout the year for residents and have food truck vendors, which are very good. The maintenance staff have always been efficient in fixing issues even if its the middle of the night. The only major issues I have experienced is having a difficult time trying to find parking after 9 PM. Ive also had an occasional loud neighbor, but that is to be expected when living in an apartment complex. If I had the opportunity,I would move there again.
Just wanted to stop by and say Caitlin in the leasing office is extremely nice and helpful. She will listen to your wants and needs and find you a great floor plan! Thank you for eveything!
I LOVE being at The Crossings! I relocated from NJ and visited over 10 different apartment complexes and none of them felt like “home” until I visited here and met with Caitlin. Caitlin was with me every step of the way, even while I was still in NJ packing. Madison is also very friendly and helpful and can answer any questions you may have, all with a smile on her face. If you’re looking for a community that is peaceful, and where you can get a smile and wave from your neighbor, come on over to The Crossings!
Worst apartment complex I have ever lived at hands down. They will do everything in their power to not give you a deposit back and will charge you for every little thing. Please do yourself a favor and look at the reviews. This place will take every penny they can squeeze out of you when you leave. I have spoken to other residents who have the same issue and the reviews reflect the same sentiment. This place is a scam. Save yourself time and money by looking elsewhere. This place is trash and is the worst experience I have ever had with a complex.
I have lived here just a few months but felt the need to chime in and say that I love living here so far. Office has staff have been extremely helpful and responsive and maintenance have been the same. Rarely has a full day gone by after a submitted request that it hasnt been taken care of.
I relocated to Raleigh, N.C. from Virginia in November 2012. I had researched several apartments online prior to my move, but due to low ratings I decided to keep searching. I discovered The Crossing at Alexander Place. The community is nice and quiet. Nina, Monica, & Richard, along with the other staff members are amazing. This is my first time experiencing a community staff so courteous and friendly. As other reviews stated, this is a professional community. And the residents are friendly. This is also a dog community. I personally am not a dog owner, but other owners pick up behind their dogs. The community is also conveniently located by several shopping centers and interstate 540. So accessing a grocery store, gas station, or restaurant is right around the corner. Overall, this is a great place to live.
This complex was the only one I could find with a floor plan that suited my needs. Because of the excellent staff like Caitlin, Madison, and Jeri I’ve enjoyed my stay and even decided to get a fur baby!! She loves to go outside and enjoys the dog park here! Highly recommended!
This is my first time in Crossings community and believe me it’s the best ever experience of renting the house. Caitlin and all of the Crossings crew (Engineers, front desk Officers, service and maintenance crew) are so efficient in their duties, polite in nature, and easily approachable that the stay here is like being Home. I personally thank Caitlin as she is the face to Crossings for me and she rules the roost of hospitality. Thank you again Crossings. Keep up the great work!!!
Has to be one of the worst places I have ever rented from ever!! Nickel and Dimed our security deposit and charged is for two months of stuff that was already paid for with our rent. We left the place spotless and got $9 back. 🙄Also, the area is becoming ghetto as hell. If you like drug deals in the parking lot, loud people in all hours of the day and night and the smell of pot, this is the place for you. If you have any self respect, find somewhere else to live.
This was my best friend and I first apartment, throughout our whole year staying here it was nothing but problems from the neighbors above us, to ants being in the apartment, the maintenance people came and sprayed ONCE we continued to call and tell someone but the problem never resolved so we had to take manners in our own hands, ALSO.. the smoke detectors, we had defected smoke detectors that caused us to leave our home because it was going off and was not stopping when we called no one and I mean NO ONE was answering the phone in the office during the hours of operation and we were forced to call the emergency helpline who told us, our smoke detector was not a problem, how is that not an emergency? I would NOT recommend moving here AT ALL! The ABSOLUTE only reason I’m giving them ONE star is because of Caitlin, who was a leasing consultant but is now the assistant manager! Good luck to everyone who moves here because it’s not worth it!
I have lived at The Crossings for the last 3 years. All of the staff members are very nice and accommodating and the maintenance team handles work orders quickly and efficiently. They also put on a few events throughout the year. They even have food trucks come out to the community 3-4 times a month. I plan on renewing my lease again and staying at this community.
I have just resigned my lease. The staff is great and very helpful. I have not had any major maintenance issues but I did have a small issue once and it was addressed very promptly. I would recommend The Crossings At Alexander Place to anyone.
I moved into the Crossings at Alexander Place in January of 2017. Let me just say, the staff here are absolutely a joy to be around and display tremendous courtesy, respect, and professionalism. I am extremely pleased with the way management handles the needs of up keeping this beautiful Apartment complex. Jeri, Patricia, Caitlin, Meredith and the nightly attendant Elvira all do their job with distinction, gratitude and integrity.I love the fact, that the basketball courts as well as all of the other luxury amenities are all well kept, and kudos to the maintenance staff for always responding to all maintenance requests in a timely fashion!I could not be any happier with my choice of living here not to mention the fact that it is extremely convenient to 540, 40 and the Crabtree Mall. I give this place a 5 star rating and I am thrilled to be a part of this amazing community.
My experience here has been awful. One of the main reasons is because of the parking issue. If you work late hours please don’t sign a lease here. By the time 10pm comes around, there are hardly any parking spaces available. I’ve brought this issue to management’s attention on multiple occasions and all they can do is offer me a garage space to rent out. They also suggest that I park on random streets outside of the complex, which is extremely unsafe with all the kidnappings going on in this area.
Office staff are very helpful. If any issues arise, the staff are quick to fix the problem. Moving in was as fast and efficient as possible. Quiet complex and very friendly residents. No regrets moving here.
Im actually very disappointed in writing this review. As much as I like the office staff, I will have to say the community, policies, and buildings are by far below the expectations you should receive with a luxury apartment. When my husband and I first moved in, we thought it was a fantastic place to live. The pool was being renovated, but once it was done, it was beautiful and a peaceful experience for the first 2 months we lived here. We did that our unit did seem more worn that the unit (obvious wear and tear) and Im not fond of the dark kitchen. But all in all it was a good apartment. Then our upstairs neighbor moved in. We soon learned how little insulation the plumbing, and ceilings had. Our neighbor, in particular, is very vocally loud, heavy footed and his sound system carried into our apartment. The floors creak and pop when he does his hour-long walking ritual, and the strong whoosh of toilet water being flushed behind our headboard in the middle of the night could make anyone lose their mind. We didnt want to be the type of neighbors that complained about apartment noise, so we kept to ourselves for the most part. It progressively got worse, and weve had to notify the leasing office several times hearing very little difference. Im writing this exhausted from the lack of sleep and personally got so stressed out over the noise at night I began grinding my teeth, which caused irritation to a nerve in my face and dealt with a week-long constant face twitch.Ive had my own car broken into once while weve lived here, which luckily I dont keep anything worth stealing in my car.The smell of marijuana doesnt bother me, but the way some of my neighbors act in my building is uncalled for. Im a hard working 32-year-old woman and dont need to pay what I pay in rent and live with people who act like college students on the weekend, screaming and yelling in the hallway, and banging on doors (including my own).Because of the medical issue, we decided enough was enough and tried to get out of our lease, only to find out we needed to give 60 days notice with rent and pay an additional 2 months rent. Since our lease is expiring in 3 months, we were told we could have the additional rent amount dropped from 2 months to 1.5 months. Weve decided to save our money and stay till the end of our lease since it would cost us much more to get out of it early.Ive never been so disappointed in living in an apartment community before living here.
I absolutely love this place! The staff is amazing, helpful, and kind. Thanks so much for everything Staff and keep up the amazing service. Wonderful place to call home. And excellent service! Well maintained! And Caitlin deserves to be regonized for such great customer service. Love it here and will continue to spread the word..... So so happy and feel blessed 🤗😇
This is not a very good place to live the appliance are very cheap and not worth the amount of money that you pay for the apartment. They are very pushy I do not like management they do not care about the people that live in these apartments. They need to get all new staff.. when you leave they try to get as much out of you has they can. NEVER AGAIN.
Lived here for an year an a half now. The management has been wonderful and supportive. They went out of their way to help us out as we were going to close on a house and last minute of close it didnt close. We explained our situation and Nina and her staff was supportive and helped us through hard time. This place has been really good. It is clean and maintained properly and our maintenance requests had been phenomenal and done on time. Location is convenient and very close to all the major stores and on top of that very close to the airport.thanks for your help @staff
The only good thing about this complex is the location. Food and shopping close by is very convenient. My wife and I moved in with our two kids near the end of 2015 and everything was smooth. Management was amazing over the phone and after only three days before we moved to the area, secured us an apartment. Around the middle of 2016 is when things went downhill. New management company swooped in and turned this place into a living nightmare. They began construction just outside the master bedroom and my sons with ZERO notification that went on for months and I still have no idea what it was even for. Waking up to jackhammers at 7 am is not something I want to pay to be around. Unspecific notifications being sent to have small items removed from our private balcony week after week until it was empty. We are on the second floor where it bothers no one. There is NO insulation between apartments. You heat everyone and everything. Ive had our neighbors below us have hissy fits because my children are playing. My 4 and 2 year old cannot play because it upsets them. Management offered us a move to another apartment where we wouldnt have to worry about that, then after week when we said we wanted to do so, they revoke their offer and said we have to pay $500 and have a rent increase. People smoke in the breezeways and it wafts into your apartment. They do not notify you if a package has come in for you via UPS, USPS, etc. There have also been numerous reports of vehicle break ins and they dont seem to care nor try to beef up security. If anything breaks, you put in a work order then the repair men do some sort of half-ass job and leave. Theyre all about short-term solutions.Overall this place is a hellhole. Please look elsewhere for living as its not worth the location after everything you put up with.Im making an edit to this to add lying to the managements list of negatives. There was some sort of spill in my apartments breezeway and we had asked if they could get it cleaned up. This was on a Thursday. On the following Monday we emailed them again asking if it was going to be handled because it was attracting a horde of ants and we dont want them in our home. They reply by saying they had came by the past Friday to handle it. They flat out lied to us and so I snapped a picture of the mess to show it wasnt handled and it was finally taken care of.STAY AWAY FROM HERE.
Had an awesome tour and i like thee apartments! The staff was very polite and generous in assisting me and my family with our needs!
Let me start off by saying Ive never been an apartment person Ive always had a house or duplex mainly bc of privacy concerns. BUT here I am! Im a happy and satisfied resident of The Crossings!!!! Caitlin, Meredith, and Morgan made the application and move in process a breeze. The crew has been so helpful and pleasant to work with. The apartment I have COMPLETELY suits my privacy needs! Its perfect! I love it!!! The other residents Ive met so far at the pool or even checking my mail have all been so nice! My sister stays here which is how I discovered the community and its awesome for my niece n nephews! I highly recommend this place!!!
I have lived at The Crossings for several years. The apartments are lovely and the office staff is always friendly and helpful. Any service requests have been filled in a timely manner. The location is also perfect, equidistant between Durham and Raleigh, close to shopping and to the airport. I have been very happy here and would highly recommend this complex.
A great place to call HOME. I have been living at this place since last 2 years and planning to continue for another 2 years. The entire staff always smiling and are very helpful to our needs, and they are quick to attend to any problems that arise. My Favorite Staff member is Caitlin Hughes, She took her time to make sure that I had the home I wanted as well as needed. She is empathetic to our needs, and building a working relationship I could trust. The grounds and facilities are kept clean every day by friendly courteous workers. The workout rooms are open 24//7 are rarely crowded and the pool area is lovely. I live with my family here and my family could not feel safer anywhere else....a beautiful neighborhood with walking distance of Walmart Super center and many shopping outlets such Kohls.
Overall, my experience here has been very positive. Will reserve any move-out comments until I do. That said, Ive lived in dumpy places, with slum-lord management. Ive read a lot of the reviews that are negative, and Ive really not experienced these things. Noise of some kind should always be expected at a complex; but the number of times Ive thought to myself how quiet this place is (I live near the pool and community center as well) far outnumbers the times Ive been disturbed. True, there was a time maintenance left something to be desired, but there is a new team in place the last 6 or so months, and they are trying to run a tight ship. Since, every experience Ive had with maintenance has been great, including responding to and replacing my HVAC unit within a business day, more recently (shout out to Nino and Frank). In the end, renting is always its own risk. Read your lease - it is your responsibility to know what youre legally binding yourself to; and charges and policies that are clearly defined shouldnt be a surprise. I feel lucky to have this place.
This place is a total dump. The staff is terrible- especially the managment, and on top of that they are NEVER in the office. They close the office randomly with no notice, and the website does not work, which means that I have to pay my rent with a physical check every month. The inside of my apartment looked nothing like the model, and the walls are covered with duct tape in some areas that has been painted over. In addition to that, the vents and bath tub were covered with black mold. Our appliances are all from the 1990s, and the water only comes in two temperatures... boiling hot, or freezing cold! My car was broken into twice in 6 months! As soon as dark hits the complex smells like week, actually saw a couple drug deals going down here in the parking lot. My wife and kids honestly did not feel safe here and that is when I finally decided to break my lease to leave early, amen! Beware and go elsewhere!
Updating the below review as of 6/3/2020 and going from 2 stars to 1. You will see this complex is now advertising as open 24/7. What they mean by that is the postage lockers and website are open 24/7. Currently all amenities are closed indefinitely, so I would consider Available 24/7 as false advertising. It is understandable that certain amenities would close during the COVID pandemic such as the gym. However we are currently in phase 2 of reopening the state and I still cant use our dog park. This community that claims to be pet friendly has locked the doors on the dog park for 3 months now. Be aware that if you rent here you are at the mercy of a corporate real estate investor. The wonderful office ladies have no say and this corporation is willing to flex every right theyve granted themselves in their wordy and lengthy lease even when its to the demise of their residents.Initial Review:Been here for 7 months now and feel its time to share a warning with any prospective residents. For the price of rent I feel my expectations for this community have not been met. When we first moved in maintenance had come over to fix the AC 4 times and it would continue to stop working each time after they left. One time our AC went out after hours the same day they came by to fix it. When I called the emergency number provided by the office it was a dead line. They literally gave me that number an hour prior as their main office line was down. If it werent for me calling a different Sentinel property and having them direct me to our maintenance worker, we wouldnt have been able to stay in our apartment that night. There are several residents who rev their cars and motorcycles in the parking lot at all hours of the night. The current issue which is causing me to write this review is the infestation of ants that is happening in my bathroom. This is not a small ant problem caused by food left out. This is a major pest infestation that is probably continued in the foundation of our building considering were on the 3rd floor. We are pretty clean and this is happening in our bathroom anyway. There are thousands of ants crawling out of the cracks where the wall meets the floor and invading our bathroom. We have set liquid traps that are overfilled with ants and there is still thousands in a line across our bathroom floor. They are crawling up the walls in our bathroom. It is basically un-useable until we have an exterminator over. Based off previous reaction times by maintenance Im guessing I wont be able to use my bathroom today. They also have a 35lb max policy for dogs which they told us was heavily enforced so we took that in mind when adopting our dog. Come to find out half of our neighbors are keeping rotweillers, Shepard mixes, and golden retrievers. I dont care but just another example of the inconsistencies of management.Renter beware. If you tour this place and look at the price tag you would think you are spending a little extra so you wont have to deal with inconveniences that are caused by poor maintenance and management. That is not the case here. I do not intend on renewing my lease at this time.
LOVE THIS PLACE AND LET ME TELL YOU WHY:Leasing Consultants: Caitlin, Madison, Morgan are professional and ready to answer any questions you have.Maintenance Issues: Handled quickly and Hernando is professional and someone you trust to handle the problem and have in your homeLong story but needs to be told:Moved from New York (big move). Called numerous apartment complexes and The Crossings is the only one that a human being answered the phone and it was Caitlin. I had numerous concerns about privacy and noise since I lived in a private home and she recommended a unit called The Devon and explained the features and benefits. Caitlin went to a empty unit and took the time to take pictures of the unit and download them to me which helped as looking at floor plans online was nothing compared to these photos. I then flew to the Brier Creek area for one day to look at 3 complexes to make a major decision . I looked at three complexes and they were all about the same EXCEPT for one thing,Caitlin was the only one that took the time to email me thanking me for visiting The Crossings. The customer service that I received from the beginning to the end from Caitlin at The Crossings made me want to make this my home. You do not find this type of service anymore. If you are looking to live in the Brier Creek area please take the time to stop at The Crossings as my wife (Sheila) and my 2 cats (Murphy and Buster love living here.
Watch out for these fraudsters, and stay away from this place! They have charged me for damages I did not cause, upon move out. This is despite me leaving the place in meticulously clean condition without damages. They are attempting to charge (and collect from me) over $500 of charges me for very minor scratches on the carpet which were reported to the previous management (of which they claim they did not receive records for)...and an item that amounts to a simple repair.I moved into The Crossings in early 2016, when it was a relatively nice place and (at the time) managed by ContraVest. The management and staff were nice and friendly. Things went downhill big time when Sentinel took over, and that very rude and condescending manager was put in charge. As others have stated, 2 of the office staff are actually nice and friendly. The problem exists with the two managers. I have only had interactions with the one whos first name starts with P, she is extremely rude, arrogant and condescending - a huge disgrace to the property, residents, and to the business Sentinel is running....she should be immediately removed from service. I had no direct interactions with the other manager during my time at Crossings, hence I cannot comment about her.Shortly after Sentinel purchased the property, it was painted dark grey to look like a prison...which is a good reflection of the crooks running the place (was yellow/green previously, which looked much nicer). Crime went up considerably after Sentinel took over, including drug activity and dozens of domestic disputes in/around my building. I filed countless complaints both to the local police and the property management office...only to see conditions worsen during the last 6 months I resided there. I was literally counting down the days until I moved out, which is the most relieving thing I ever did.
Life at the crossings was amazing the first two years. Richard and Monica are very amazing staff people, along with Robert, who keeps the grounds very clean. The management though, has always been a very weak point there. I am not even sure you will see the manager once during your lease as she is always hiding from renters. Last year, I woke up one morning at 7am under the sounds of explosives as they were starting to build a road there. It kept on going for 6 months straight! Not only the community did not make us aware of projects they knew were coming, but they decided to raise the rent by a couple hundreds dollars a month! They did not care we stayed there for over 3 years, got bothered by the construction site starting most days at 6am, which by the way 2 more construction sites around the community are planning to start soon, they did not hesitate to charge us 2300 dollars when we left, playing the game of threats of bringing us to collection and court! We had 2 little dogs who peed 2 on the carpet, I will confirm that, but I sponged it off and cleaned it with a shampoo vacuum cleaner... Well, management had to say that the carpeting was horrible (of course to be replaced at our charge), and not only that but they had to treat the concrete floor underneath!!! Unbelievable. I will even pass on other horrible details. If I was now a prospective tenant at the crossings, I would probably overlook the beautiful amenities and run away.
We have lived here going on three years now. The current staff provide excellent customer service. They actually reply to resident emails within 24 hours! Maintenance response has also improved. I was shocked they came out the same day I put in a request to unclog the shower drain. No comments on resident noise since we are on the third floor. Sometimes, there is trash in the parking lots from guests or residents but I see it get cleaned up within a day or so.We love living near the airport, Brier Creek shopping centers, and RTP. Its only a 15-20 minute drive to get to downtown Raleigh, Cary, and Durham. The airplanes can fly pretty low causing noise and rooftop rumbling due to the airport (our only complaint which the staff cant control).
Not sure where to begin on our experience living here... When we first moved here we were so happy with everything but after seeing how management really treated it’s tenants and how maintenance addressed certain issues it’s very overwhelming and sad. We had issues with the smoke detectors going off randomly all times of the night keeping our family up until maintenance was able to come turn them off, upon moving in we had a list of things that weren’t fixed or needed repair such as the microwave, ceiling light in the kitchen, leaking ceiling in the kitchen, bathroom vanity covered in mildew because of water damage caused by the toilet leaking which was fixed by maintenance twice since we been here and we did bring to there attention prior to us moving here that the appliances would be changed out because they were old and cracked/peeling, A/C problems prior to us moving in they gave us 2 window units to put in our windows during the summer to accommodate us, old appliances in the kitchen and bathroom. Yesterday we put in a maintenance order 1/25/20 because our toilets won’t flush in both bathrooms. Maintenance did arrive and he was unable to fix the problem telling us he would have to call a Plummer again because this has been the second time this has happen to us since we been here. We were also told that we couldn’t go into another apart to use the bathroom so that left us no choice but to drive to nearby gas stations and restaurants with our children to use to bathroom since our bathrooms aren’t working he also told us he could leave the snake/plunger and we could plunge the toilets ourselves after each use I told him “hell no we spend too much money to be plunging our toilets after we use the bathroom”. Day #2 1/26/20 Bathrooms still aren’t working and we were told the Plummer won’t be here until Monday morning or afternoon it’s Sunday so we have to go another day without using our bathrooms. We also noticed in our garage a infestation of mice that got all into our belongings I called management and was told to place my items in totes and that she would call someone to come out and lay down traps down. At this point I’m speechless we spend too much money to be treated like this I can’t wait until our lease is up... God Bless This Place!!
By far the worst living experience I had in 15+ years. Do not lease here, keep looking there are far better options with availability close by. It is obvious by looking at other recent reviews this place is headed downhill fast. My apartment was filthy after not being ready move in day and was cleaned twice but was still dirty. The garage I was assigned was full of trash and paint cans, obviously no one checked it out before handing me the keys. The office staff are ignorant and lazy, this must be the place to seek employment when no one else will hire you. Do not be fooled by the model they show you- yours will much nastier. Grateful I only signed a short term lease, moved to another complex quickly. Do not make the same mistake I did. Crime and drug use are very common through out the entire complex. Stay away. This place and the “management” should be condemed.PS- The building I lived in was infested with silverfish!
Caitlyn is the best! We moved here a year and a half ago and absolutely love our home. The garage areas are very convenient since they are on site and clean. The renovations to the apartmemts have updated the appearance of the place and we love the new community room. Maintenance is always available snd ready to help. The area is ideal and convenient to shopping areas. We would recommend to our friends.
This has been by far the most frustrating experience ever during the initial leasing process. The staff seems to be very incompetent in regards to honesty and integrity.I originally visited the premise and I arrived approx. 15 min before close just to gather information. I figured since the office was still open and nothing indicated that anyone was away that surely someone would come back before close. After realizing that no one was coming back after the 5pm hour, I made plans to do an application online. The application froze, so I made plans to go back to the complex the next day for the application and tour.I came in the following day and spoke with Elvira who told me that because she didnt have a key that she could not give a tour. Very strange that I couldnt take a tour considering the fact that the office was open for prospective clients. I mean logically I should be able to at least tour before I sign anything right?I spoke with Elvira for an hour and she told me that I would be able to set an appointment on Monday with a leasing agent for anytime during the week and retain eligibility for a waiver of the $150 processing fee if I toured and signed up on the same day and $800 off of the first month of rent with a 12 month lease. She wrote all of this on a sheet of paper signed and printed and photocopied my ID to this document. On Monday as promised I called in and spoke with Joshua and confirmed what as affirmed the day before. I also asked Joshua to reconfirmed this information within an email so that I would continue the paper trail of aforementioned promises. He promptly sent the email and I scheduled as promised an appointment with him that Thursday at 9 am.Upon my arrival, I arrived prior to the entire office and proceeded to again confirm what was confirmed twice before. The information that I received on this day differed. It did not include the $800 discount on the first month of rent. I made him aware and in this process, Caitlin confronted me and told me that it didnt matter what was agreed upon and that I would have to accept this new offer if I intended to lease. She said that if I wanted the apartment that I should have done an application to reserve these promotions. She later was that it was attempted and failed due to online errors. After presenting them with emailed and written documentation, they wisely decided to get management involved. They told me that Jerry would come to the office to discuss the matter in detail.Jerry never came, instead a woman much younger that the two leasing agents came to the office and claimed to be a member of management. She intervened not to resolve the issue but to berate me and tell me that I would not received the aforementioned promotions. She also tried to substantiate the claim that the aforementioned agreement that was affirmed in conversation, via email, via signed documentation didnt matter in regards to the promotions that were offered. This woman also made me aware that Elvira was a temporary employee that was fired earlier in the week.I was shocked that this woman who claimed to have authority did not take ownership of the words of an employee that she fired for making such false claims. Not only did she stand up over me and make these claims, she also made this claim in front of a potential client in the process of leasing, and a disgruntled tenant. I finally decided that I would not settle for this type of unprofessionalism and I decided to take my things and leave the premise. Upon leaving, I left a cup behind and the same manager met me in the parking lot to give me the cup. I replied thank you, but I was offered no apology or reconciliated for the broken agreement or wasted time.
***THIS PLACE IS A TOTAL DUMP!!***After doing some research, we found The Crossings at Alexander Place and decided to give it a try. After taking a tour and reading numerous reviews, we decided to make this our home. From that day forward everything was a true nightmare. We had chosen our move in day and when we arrived that morning the paperwork was not ready. Finally after driving around and wasting our entire day we go back to the leasing office a 5pm to see if we could get our key. When we get there they tell us that the manager never came in. The neighbors on the third floor had a small child that jumped off the furniture and ran around all night. The next day we contacted the leasing office and asked that they politely tell them to keep it down since they now had downstairs neighbors. They agreed to speak to them, but nothing ever changed. We even had management come to our apartment and listen to the noise and their response was this is just average apartment noise. After 5 days of listening to this nonstop noise, we asked to move to another apartment or have our lease terminated. We were denied termination of the lease and was told we could move but would have to pay a $500 fee on top of all the other fees we had to pay to move in. We were stuck for months listening to this noise, until finally the family moved out. Right before we moved in the apartments had been sold to the company that owns them now, and reading the reviews on here you can clearly see when the management company took over because the reviews went from good to bad. When we moved in the apartments were a nice green and yellow color, after being there a couple of months they painted everything a dark gray. The new color has no contrast at all and makes the neighborhood look dark and uninviting. They used to have a nice water fountain at the main entrance which was welcoming and peaceful, but it did not work a majority of the time and they eventually dug it up and planted a tree. They used to have a business center with multiple computers and printers which was great for residents. They eventually shut that down for several months and turned it into a package pickup center. They used to have a tanning bed also, but like almost everything else, they closed that as well. The leasing office/clubhouse was closed for months and months for renovations. The pool was not open until almost July of this year. They spent months doing repairs on the pool for it to basically look the same. They did not decrease rent for anyone while all of these amenities were out of service for months. The landscaping had not been touched in a very long time and there was nothing but dirt under the trees and the bushes. In April of 2017 we moved out of the first apartment and moved into the Devon which is the stand alone apartments. They claimed to have done some renovations, but the only thing they did was poorly paint the walls and put a new light fixture in the bathroom. With these renovations came a price increase, but these apartments are extremely outdated and are in need of major renovations. Management...the property manager is incompetent of running this community. She is rude, disrespectful, and clueless. The leasing consultants changed multiple times during our 2 year stay as well. In addition to new leasing consultants, they changed assistant managers during our stay as well. Maintenance staff, they changed so fast im not sure how they even kept up with it. No one cleans up after their pets and you constantly have to watch where you are walking to avoid stepping in poop. You cant walk anywhere in the community without smelling marijuana. There is a sign with pool rules posted inside of the pool area, but those rules are neither enforced or followed. You cant enjoy the pool for the loud music being played, and glass beer bottles being left everywhere. There is a fee for everything including your trash, which was often missed. We finally moved out of this disgusting community in October of this year and weve never been happier.
This community and the apartments are perfectly fine. The reason I am leaving a one star review is the management. As another reviewer mention I also had an issue with a defective smoke detector that would go off for HOURS on end with no response from the office and maintenance would only change the battery when there was clearly a different issue. This issue got so bad that I had to call the Fire Department to ensure that the alarm was not detecting Carbon Monoxide from the two garages directly below my apartment. This happened with two different alarms, and now over a year of living here the new alarm finally seems to be working correctly. My other experience with the management group has been an ordeal from start to finish. I have been emailed by multiple people about the same topic and have gotten different directions from each person, only to be told that I have done something wrong, when all that I am trying to do is get them the information that they need.I hope the management team takes this review as constructive criticism because I am mostly happy to live here but their lack of direction and clear communication is beyond frustrating.
I have enjoyed my stay here at The Crossings. I have been here since they were first built. I am close to all the major highways in the area. The staff at the apartment have several events for the residents that have included a luau, free breakfast from Panera, and wine tastings. I was recently named resident of the week and was brought lunch for myself and my coworkers along with several goody bags full of stuff.
The community is awesome! Maintenance and office staff are timely and friendly too.
Good community with many restaurants and shopping complexes nearby. Office staff are very helpful and nice.
Ive been living at TCAP for about 2 1/2 years now after having spent a little over a year in Cary, and have had a very positive experience here in general. I live in one of their carriage home apartments, which means my apartment sits on top of 4 garages and doesnt share any walls w/ my neighbors. The walls are a pleasant yellow butternut creme color, which is a nice change from the usual white/creme walls in most apartments. I also get my own personal garage below the apartment, which is a big plus. The office staff is very friendly and very helpful, and repairs are typically taken care within 24 hours. I also have a great view of the puppy park from my apartment, which provides great late afternoon entertainment when all the local dogs get together to play. Overall, Im very pleased w/ TCAP and would recommend it to anyone looking to move into the Brier Creek area.
Every time weve needed something fixed i.e. stove light, weather strip, etc., we were assisted in a timely manner. Staff is super nice to our family each time we see them. Its beautiful here, and Im choosy when it comes to aesthetics. I only wish the carpet was nicer.I dont have a dog (yet!), but this community is very dog friendly. I wish there was a childrens park onsite for my almost two-year old but the brier creek community center/elementary school is just down the road.We use the gym frequently. I wish the treadmills were updated; I dont feel like the belts run smoothly for easy running, but thats such a small thing! The Crossings is quiet, beautiful and overall Im happy to live here!
This place has gone down in the 2yrs Ive been here they do everything in their power to give you the run around when they dont want something to happen they make up unrealistic rules and tell you its a corporate thing but cant show you anywhere in writing. For the amount you pay in rent you expect to get more an you get less. I had to get a new washer and dryer that they said was upgraded but died my centraC air unit went out and was replaced twice garbage disposal never works. The staff has befbec very lazy and really dont study their craft theyre not here to help. I wanted to transfer the ladt told me they really dont want and try to encourage people not to. But be happy in thier current situations. Dont rent here dont even go in the office. Dealt with ants for Two months also.
I currently live at the crossings and have been since 2016. When I first moved here, it was luxury living. I loved the yellow and green paint, maintenance requests were answered same day and the place stayed clean. Ever since the new management came, they painted the place to grey prison-like color, my last maintenance request took 4 days to get to and it did NOT resolve the issue and there is trash and dog poop all over. The rent has gone down as far as market price and you can tell by the type of people that are moving in. It is now loud at times and you can smell weed where people are sitting on their balcony smoking. I cant wait until my lease is up! Not worth the price anymore! Im sure there are nicer places around here for the price!
DO NOT LEASE HERE........:This place is an absolute dirt hole. The office staff are somewhere between clueless and worthless. My apartment was dirty and outdated even though I was promised a newer renovated unit. There are far better units with in a mile or two of here that are newer, cleaner, and are the same price. Car break ins and drug use are very common here. Beware if you have children.
THEY ARE NOT PET FRIENDLY AT ALL!!! They only care about the money you have to pay for your pet!
Low rent living at its worst, very gross. Staff are a bunch of brain dead idiots. Crime is apparent through the entire complex. Embarrassed I lived here for a few months, I would meet friends and family out in public far away from here. Much better apartments for same price with in a mile of here, keep looking- you will be glad you did.
As you can see from the previous reviews recently posted, this place has really gone down in value. The space and location is great; however, that greatness is being overshadowed by its downfall in security, parking and amenities. When I first moved to the property a year ago (I signed a 6 month lease the first time I signed), there was an officer on the property. He left a couple months ago and the property has reflected his absence. People are constantly blasting their music (my mother couldnt believe they allow people to play their music that loud when she came to visit a month ago), apparently people were getting in the pool while the gate was locked (we got an email about that), and cars have been broken into at night. There are no cameras or security of any kind.Parking is horrible. I pay too much money to have to park in front of someones garage and hope I dont get towed because they cant get in or out. Luckily for me, I only have one car. Parking is not ideal for people or families with multiple cars. They do have an area in the back of the property where people park their boats. Not really a safe distance to park and walk the property to my apartment at night with no security around though. The amenities closes at 10. I could understand that if someone had to monitor who comes and goes from the gym or if people lived above it. That is not the case though. We have fobs to enter the gym, computer area and basketball court. Personally, I dont have a 9-5 work schedule so a 24 hour gym is ideal for days I come home late and want to work out. I could work out in my apartment, but the walls are so thin, I dont want to annoy my neighbors doing mountain climbers or jump squats. Half the tvs in the gym dont work. There isnt much equipment. I can name everything in the gym on my fingers and have fingers left over. Also, the clubhouse has been closed for months! They moved the leasing area to the computer room so thats two amenities that couldnt be used. Then they moved to an apartment. The pool took forever to open. Most properties opened their pools in April/ early May. Why was our pool not opened until June 15th?Kaitlyn is awesome as far as staff goes. I really hope the see an improvement soon. As of right now, Im looking for somewhere else to live.
We liked living here at first. The new management company took over and that is where it ended. Listen to the other reviews, yes there is always some sour people but for the most part these reviews are right. We had tenants above us that sounded something like Jurassic Park. We complained and nothing happened. The office managers boss said and I quote, Im concerned that you are unreasonably putting all responsibility on us. We never had a complaint with the previous 2nd floor tenants until these people moved in. There was also a huge problem with pet waste being littered throughout the community. Well at that point we broke our lease and moved, at significant cost just to get peace and quiet. To top off the entire experience, we paid a hefty pet deposit when we first moved in. We were told this was to replace the carpets when we moved out. Yeah right, after we moved out we also received a pro-rated bill for a new carpet. If you do lease here, get anything thats not clear on the lease in writing especially when it comes to the carpets. If you live here already and have an excessively noisy neighbor, remember this: Right to quiet enjoyment. One last thing, look at the reviews, youll notice anyone from the Crossings stopped commenting on them a couple of years ago.........Id like to add one thing, the review written by James. At the time we lived there, he was the Night Watchmen, therefore this review is a conflict of interest....
***DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!***You are paying for luxury living but live in apartments that are anything but luxury! This place is going downhill at an alarming rate of speed. Theyve been doing construction and now the place is one big mud pit. What do I mean by construction? They tore down some old retaining walls, and built new ones. That did nothing to spruse the place up. The apartments are no longer green and yellow they are gray and have no contrast at all. The pool deck has weeds growing in the cracks, the 2 grills only half work, they no longer have a night attended on duty, and half of the gym equipment is either missing out of order or does not work properly. They used to have a nice water fountain out front when you entered the property, they have since dug that up and planted a tree. None of the landscape lighting works, and speaking of landscaping it appears they havent put any fresh mulch or pine needles down in a very long time. They are making no effort to do any renovations to the insides of the apartments such as new flooring, new countertops, new cabinets, or anything of that nature. There is no light or ceiling fan in the bedrooms, the living room only has a ceiling fan (no light), and the lighting in the kitchen and dining area is very outdated. The biggest turn off is the management, both the manager and assistant manager are hands down the 2 RUDEST human beings ever. However, the 2 leasing assistant girls are super nice and friendly. So if you are like me and are moving to the area from another state and know nothing about the area and rely fully on reviews when apartment hunting, this is a honest review. So glad I moved out of this place. I just moved to the Oakwood apartments directly beside the crossings and Im loving every minute of it! They have a very similar layout to the crossings but they have more upgrades and cheaper.***YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED DO NOT MOVE HERE***
Love this place. Caitlin, Meridith and the rest of the staff have the best customer service!
I advise you not to move here. their staff left their master key to my apartment in the door for several hours when I was away at work... I came home from work with their key in my door if I was a bad person I could have been in every home in the community which is very scary for me and all other resident. and thats not even half when I got into my apartment I noticed things were trashed and a lot of my valuables were stolen I contacted the apartment and they said they would not cover anything that was stolen from my apartment... very careless for the area. when we did the police report the officer told us that they have been numerous of break ins in the area... and im just telling the truth im an very honest review writer
Met with Vickie today for a tour I am a perspective tenant. She was awesome.!!!! Thanks Vickie see you soon 😀
My 5 stars has went down to a 1 in the last couple months I’ve moved into the devon in the back of the neighborhood april 2017 here it is july 2018 & this neighborhood has gone down hill to a completely full parking lot with nowhere to park around my building because people allow their guest to take over RESIDENTS parking spots. Trash is left in the parking lots, cars are being broken into. We pay an arm & a leg for neighborhood amenities we cant even use bc their being renovated. I’m sooo ready for my lense to end april 2019 i will not be renewing this go around .
Every couple months it seems they add some some unnecessary service that they REQUIRE you to use that costs extra money to the resident. STAY AWAY.
Ive lived here since 2012 and have enjoyed it. The gym includes plenty of exercise equipment, weights, indoor basketball and raquetball courts... even a tanning bed if you are so inclined.I would say it appeals to any age group... and lifestyle. It has a neighborhood feel and is tucked in on the north side of hwy 70 behind starbucks. Right across the street from all the amenities of brier creek. Umstead park is also right down the street.I have had very few problems with maintenance and when I did it was attended to right away. Parking is a non issue. .. wash your own car, check out the pool, rent a garage, sign up for personal training... there is alot of stuff/life to get into.Sincerely, mr gainey
Sooooo dirty and gross. Extremely outdated, full of crime/drugs, incompetent staff. DO NOT lease here, look elsewhere- I wish I did.
I have NEVER come across a more rude and unethical landlord. This landlord has a history of lying and NOT getting work orders completed on time. One lame excuse is that they were short staffed My last work order regarding lack of hot water in the shower of the master bathroom hasnt been completed in over 6 weeks as the spare parts needed to be ordered and their way of responding to my patience is slapping me with more penalties. After terminating my lease, during the walk through the assistant property manager had hidden a tape recorder in her pocket and tried to trap me by black mailing to use those tapes in court in order to get me to pay for work order requests that were submitted during my stay for a yearFor instance when the flooring tiles in the kitchen were cracked and cement was peeling off causing a tripping hazard and the landlord refused to take care of it. Another resident had rented a garage below my bedroom to use it as a business to offer weight lifting training to the public and each morning I was distrubed from 6:00am onwards until 8:30pm. I had total strangers park their cars in front of my bedroom window with the boom box blaring loud music and his clients laughing and banging the heavy weights on the concrete floor. The landlord hasnt stopped this from happening and pretends to be unaware of whats going on even though the personal trainer and the landlord have known each other for many years. After repeatedly complaining with the management about the neighbors above us banging and moving heavy furniture or boxes throughout the night and the cops being on site several times, this landlord chooses to ignore the issue. In fact one evening when I was coming back home, the other female resident physically attacked me in the parking lot and I had to call the Raleigh Police department for help. I do regret signing the lease and will definitely do a background check on my next landlord before signing the lease.
Poor customer services, unresponsive to maintenance, customer service is last, propriety manager is Rude the only thing good about this place is location.
A great place to live ... the place is close to many large companies and good sources of employment, includes basic amenities like washer and dryer, full kitchen and refrigerator, which in my case was very convenient ... as a resident I love walking in the gardens and common areas, the gym is well equipped and includes stair climbers, treadmills and other amenities ...
