They are the best! My AC broke during one of the hottest weeks of the year, I was told the part would take 3-5 days to arrive. They were very compassionate in our time of need and were able to locate and install the part the next day! I will never use another company other than Airmakers. They really care about their customers. They went above and beyond. And they know what they are doing.

These guys are the worst in terms of providing a fair value for service rendered. We called them out recently as one of our HVAC units wasnt working. They performed the diagnostic. $89. replaced the capacitor, which took 10 minutes and is a $10 part and charged $260 for it, so $350 total for 10 minutes of work and a $10 part. They didnt quote us before they did the work and after the work was performed they wouldnt reduce the charge meaningfully so that the charge was commensurate with the value. Their comment was, we know we didnt quote you before we did the work, but the charges are in line with our competitors so were going to charge you whatever we want. Steer clear of these guys.

Used them in the past for scheduled HVAC replacement. No complaint. This time HVAC is down. Called Emergency service last night. The engineer was too busy to come out but promised to put request forward to the office for appointment next day. Called the office this morning, no information was transferred. They took information again and told me that I will be notified when engineer will be dispatched. Called at noon to check and they told me I was scheduled for tomorrow. When reminding them of agreeing with engineer last night to postpone service to today, they told me engineer was not authorized to promise appointment. Manager apologized. ..........I am glad there are alternative providers that provide state of the art customer service....

I have been using Airmakers for several years. Their technical services today were as good as usual.. Their personal touch however remains as bad as always. (Ive had previous issues with customer service so this is the last straw) Today the technician was due between 1-4PM. At 4:30 PM I called to inquire where my technician was at for my routine semi-annual service. I was told he had truck problems and she could not reach him to determine when he would be at my residence. My question to the rep was simple....It is now 4:30 why did no one call me by 4pm(the latest arrival time) to provide some customer service update? The rep was rude and said the tech was not answering his phone whereby she could provide an update. Again, she already knew about his truck problems so why didnt she call with an update earlier. She said she would call back when she contacted the tech, She eventually did return my call and the tech arrive around 5PM and completed his service. As this was my last routine service for this year, I will be looking for another company that has good technical service AND good customer service. I would NOT recommend this company!

Contacted DaveH in sales and he did an outstanding job matching the right unit with our square footage. Because the home was built in the 70, the unite needed to be relocated to keep the screen porch from scorching you in summer months and to allow the unit to expel air as it attempts to operate in a steady, energy efficient manner. Very satisfied with the Install Team as well. They arrived early and were done by 2pm. House did not lose coolness even when unit was off all day. Thanks Airmakers

Our Air system stopped working, called AirMakers for help, they came and got the system working for us. They did a full check of the system and found we had a slow leak and set up a call from their Representative. We worked out a deal with them for a new system because of the age of our system. They got us quickly in their schedule for the replacement. They were very professional as the system was replaced, making suggestions as to what needed to be replaced as they worked on putting in the new system. EVERY YEAR since weve been living in our home (11years), weve had issues with our HVAC system. Weve called this company 2-3x each year to fix it. They come out but obviously dont fix the problem. We get charged for the visit, service and materials even though they didnt fix the issue. Were finally going to stop using Airmakers. We only used them as long as we did because my husband thought they knew what they were doing since the company installed the system. No more.

I reached out to my sales person, Ben Freeland, and he responded immediately with an update of the situation and said someone would come back out to finish the work. Mind you this is at 5:00 pm on a Friday night. He came and finished the install. Works great. Ben saved me almost $1500 over a Rheem brand AC unit by suggesting a Carrier unit. We called Airmakers for our property in Cary. They came on a weekend so they charged us an emergency rate. Made a repair. 2 days later, the same problem creeps back. They are recalled to repair, this time they make an additional repair, charge additional money and then we purchase a maintenance agreement. This time they find additional work that needs to be repaired, and yet and still they leave as if the unit is fully repaired. Now on to our third repair call, we call the office and try to speak to the tech manager, but we have to get on his schedule for next week. I am sorry but its like 20 degrees at night and our heat is only getting to 57 each night. I consider that an emergency, but when you are charging clients per call, I guess their is no need to be in a rush or selective about your work. I am starting to feel like we are dealing with shaddy mechanics that repair everything except for the real problem. Now we are told we need a new pressure switch, at about $800 in repair costs, not to mention time off from work, I could have purchased a new system with no worries. Beware of this company. All we want is for them to say their first two analysis were incorrect and credit those repairs to fixing the still broken unit, or refund our money so we can purchase a new unit. At over $800 in repairs, plus numerous hours missed from work, I could well be on my way to having a new unit installed with a warranty.

Exorbitant material charges for weekend dispatch!!!I recently contacted Airmakers on a Saturday morning. I was told that they would charge a $148 dispatch fee which was substaintially higher than their normal rate since it was a weekend. Knowing this upfront I was ok with that and they came out that day to repair my unit. The tech was nice and began performing the work. He stated that I was low on R-22 refrigerant and then told me how much the refrigerant cost. I questioned the high price and I was told that since it was a Saturday they charge more for parts! What since does that make? I was already paying a higher dispatch fee, but to charge more money for parts? This is the exact same refrigerant they sell Monday-Friday. I was charged $400 for the 2.5 pounds of R-22 ($550 Total). I contacted another company to see what they charge and it was a total of $340 (including weekend dispatch).I contacted the service manager about this and he politely suggested I use the other company next time. I will be sure to do that but I wanted to let others know of the hidden charges before they make the same mistake I did.

My HVAC unit was having an intermittent issue that was only affecting the first floor. After the unit would come on, no air was blowing through the vents. This was the case with the heat and a/c. Initially, I thought the thermostat was going bad, so I bought a new programmable one (since I had been thinking about getting one anyway), but that didnt solve the problem. I then called Airmakers, explained the issue to them and scheduled an appointment with them for the next day. When the tech came out, I explained the issue to him again. He made some adjustments to the thermostat and eventually made his way to the attic to look at the unit. He went from the attic to the first-floor thermostat a couple of times, and after about 30 mins he said he fixed it. I go downstairs to check, and the air was blowing through the vents. He said the thermostat was programmed wrong. When I asked why it did the same thing with the old non-programmable thermostat, he said it had probably gone bad. That visit cost me $143.18 (diagnostic, labor and taxes).Just over 2 weeks pass and Im having the same issue as before. I make another appointment with Airmakers, letting them know that the fix to the thermostat didnt work. It must have been intermittently working. The same tech comes out and after doing some checks at the thermostat and in the attic, he says its the damper. He tells me that the damper is $400, and after everything its going to be over $500. Im thinking WHAATTT!!! But if it needs one, it needs one. And I assumed that after everything meant labor costs. I told him to do it. The total came to $530.18.I asked him why the part cost so much when its nowhere near that price online. I was seeing prices from $86 to $182. The part he installed was $86 on Amazon (srv21760 replace hw damper motor). He didnt give a straight answer but mentioned something about labor being a part of it.I didnt get to see the invoice on his tablet device he had me sign. But when I opened it up in my email (30 mins later) I realized that, that after everything statement meant adding a diagnostic fee of $89 (again). I should not have to pay a diagnostic fee again for a problem that wasnt fixed the first time. It was the same problem, just missed diagnosed the first time.I called Airmakers to ask about the $400 price tag on an $86 part (had to leave a message). Joel called me back and in so many words said that there are other costs added into that price. I was so overwhelmed by that price that I forgot to ask about the 2nd diagnostic fee I paid. And the more I think about it, the initial $143.18 should be refunded.530.18 + 143.18 = 673.36for an $86 part.

One star is not deserved, do not go with this company for any of your installs. As they lack all the essentials required to be labeled true professionals. If you value your home think twice their a great chance it will be damaged do to installer not knowing what their doing and/or not doing it well at all. I say this from personal experience. This company does not value its customers enough to provide satisfactory service, instead they rely on clauses and indemnifying statements written in the agreements written on the back of their forms. This company issues equipment that is not of excellent quality . As in my experience the units install crapped out several days after install. So as a warning do not waste your money at AirMakers Raleigh, or the Chapel Hill location. Carrier AC in my opinion is a good brand and should not have vendors/installers such as Airmakers soil that image. This company will cost you more money in repair work to you home then they are worth. To make sure other do not fall victim to this company I will post this message of every review board for this company I can find and renew that post every 7 -14 days. Years later we are still having to pay for a system we paid thousand of dollars for. This company doesnt stand by their work! This isnt a honest company! They took advantage of us. We were customers hoping to find a honest company to do right by us. We are a family of 6 with not much money and this company stole from us! Very disappointed and will not let this go! I feel it is very unethical that someone will tell us they are fixing something and never do the job. They took my money saying they was completeing the job we requested. Honestly this has to be illegal. I will definitely look into how illegal it is I wanted to make sure I left a review to save someone else from the headache my family is experiencing right now!UPDATE!!!!I have called the company several times to come up some resolve and I keep getting the run around. I keep being told that David the one who handled the job will call me back. I have yet to hear back from him. I have confirmed information that what I paid for is not what I got. I can no longer recommend this company to anyone. I have had a maintenance agreement with them for almost 10 years now. While they are all very courteous and prompt to deliver service its the actual service I have issues with. First it is VERY over priced but what are you to do when you have a heating or AC unit down and dont have time to shop around to get it back up and running. Their maintenance agreements do nothing other that give you a small discount from my experience. Additionally, when they do their seasonal maintenance on the system you can count on one to three week following that you will have system issues that you will be charged for. I would recommend finding another company to maintain your heating and AC systems.

A wonderful service tech named Anthony R. came out and analyzed the system. He was very professional and polite, and even called Michael and Sons to get that techs input into what he was doing to make sure he didnt miss anything. Whatever you do homeowner with a HVAC problem, DO NOT USE AIRMAKERS in Raleigh, NC. You will be sorry if you do. My husband and I had a problem with our unit this month, we hired Airmakers to come out service it, $600.00 later we still are without heat in our home. They came out to our home 3 times and you would think in that amount of time, the problem would be fixed. JOEL KEY, Manager of this scamming HVAC business doesnt care about you, the homeowner at all. All he cares about is sending his techs out to rob you of your money and moving on to the next victim. We got taken and we dont want to see it happen to you. The manager will nickel and dime you to death. He tried smooth talking me and my husband into paying another service fee in which Airmakers should have fixed the problem the first time we paid the service fee of $130 + all other absorbent fees. They will not itemize your invoices either to let you know exactly what products/services youre really getting, its all hidden charges.
