I have been going to A&E Auto since 2009...Their service and attention to detail is by far better than anywhere else Ive taken my vehicles to in the past.Over the years I’ve watched the shop transform from paper inspections to now receiving a digital inspection with pictures on my phone at each visit which is very cool!Total trust and transparency with these guys.Their work is top notch and that’s why since I moved from North Port, I travel over 50 miles ONE WAY to get my car serviced at A&E.If you want an auto repair shop you can TRUST, this is it!!!

I needed brake maintenance for my Nissan Altima and A&E Auto Repair scheduled my car for service right away, got the work done promptly and did a FANTASTIC job! The other work/services done (Oil Change, Engine Light, Filter change/replacement) make me feel like Im driving a new car-Mine is a 2006S. Ive been acquainted with A&E since their Port Charlotte location. Theyve always treated me right as well as keeping me as informed as possible from my perspective. My most recent visit to their new (to me) location was no different - if not more pleasant. I hit a curb and blew my tire. The first quote I received from a local mechanic was $1,800 and was told that I needed all four wheels replaced as well as part of my axle. I then reached out to A & E Auto - Marco stayed after hours because of my unique work situation, assessed my vehicle, and had my tire replaced and other contributing issues from the blowout resolved by 5:30 that same day. We have been in the area less than a year and I found A&E Auto through AAA. I have taken my daughters car there twice and just had my car serviced there also. I was impressed with their friendly service and honesty. They kept me informed of what was needed and even sent before and after photos of what needed to be done. Recently our transmission went out on our Van. The Van was pulled to A & E Auto. They did the initial testing and determined it was the Van. Working with the office, they determined it might be covered by warranty so they suggested that I get it taken to the dealership. The Van ended up being taken and indeed it was covered. Being out of state, they could have taken advantage of us but were very honest. They saved me a lot of money! I would highly recommend any one to take their vehicle to them. To me they represent honesty and integrity!

Bottom line: This is a great shop, run by good honest people that deserve your business.I brought a Chrysler minivan to A&E to diagnose a major transmission problem. Prior to bringing it in, I had already run an OBD2 scan and read out the trouble codes so I had a good idea of what was wrong. They diagnosed it with 100% accuracy, no games there.The owner, Marco, then went above & beyond to find a replacement transmission with a good warranty instead of just quoting me with the first one he could find.Needless to say, because the transmission had to get completely replaced, it was a very expensive repair. I have an FCA credit card that gives me 0% financing over 6 months on vehicle service, but unfortunately A&E isnt an FCA affiliate shop, so in the end I had to take it to the dealership for the repairs so I could take advantage of my cards special financing.Marco couldnt have been more gracious. He understood completely and gave me no trouble for the decision, it wasnt even a tense conversation. Such an easy-going, good guy.Of course, I paid him the inspection fee but because he was so damn nice about it all, I felt compelled to write this review. From now on, I will refer everyone I know to Marco at A&E as their first stop if they need help with car trouble.

Very honest shop with very reasonable prices. Their technicians are extremely thorough, and once they are finished, you get detailed invoices and lists of everything that they looked at. Great customer service from Shala at the front desk, with a positive attitude and no pressure to get things fixed, and Mike did a great job working on my car.This is a very professional shop, but without the professional prices. I literally called 7 different shops in the Port Charlotte area for quotes, and nobody else had lower hourly labor rates than A&E. If you don’t believe me, do a Google search of shops and call around the area to see for yourself. Ask them what their hourly labor rates are...I had a few issues last week with my old RSX (photo attached) in-between Tampa and Miami, but A&E got me back on the road without lying to me or breaking the bank. They arranged for me to pick up my car this past Saturday morning from their lot, and I had an enjoyable and issue-free drive all the way down the gorgeous back-roads of Florida to Key Largo.Thanks again A&E!

I am so happy I chose A&E. I found them via a google search and after reading several positive reviews I crossed my fingers and hoped for the best. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. They did not try to over sell me on stuff that wasn’t necessary, nor did I get that feeling that they were trying to take advantage of the fact that I’m a woman. First I must say everything seemed legit.Until they constantly had problems getting parts and when they didthey said the parts were faultySo I called the parts manufacturer and it turn out they were not following specs. When installing the partsOver torquing bolts during install and not following procedure and after finding this outthe guy I spoke to originally had a woman talk for him i could literally hear him telling her what to say because she clearly didnt know how to answer the questions.I must say this was overly unprofessionalSTAY CLEAR OF THIS PLACE!!!

Contacted A&E about putting a custom exhaust on my car. They explained exactly what they could do for me and we agreed on a project. They ordered parts and when they arrived the project was completed the next day. Price I paid was reduced from the agreed price because the technician completed the work faster than the estimate!! Will use A&E again and highly recommend them.

I have a 1955 Chevy Bel Air custom car. I am picky about who I allow to service it. Recently I was in need of a custom exhaust system. After researching online reviews, I contacted Marco, the owner of A&E. It was not an easy install but A&E did an outstanding job. More important was they took good care of my car and informed me of the progress via telephone. In addition they found a broken sway bar bushing and repaired it. I would highly recommend this business to anyone with a classic car in need if custom exhaust.

This is a really great looking office and building. Everything is very clean and they have a great waiting room! The staff and service are exemplary here! When I first came to A & E, I had an alternator problem and a problem with the engine constantly puffing out smoke. I recently bought an aftermarket warranty for my vehicle and they were able to work with the company and have them pay for the whole on alternator problem! Then they dug into the engine to see what was wrong with that and the whole engine was basically falling apart. They are really great at documenting everything they do and taking pictures of everything they do. The engine was basically a ticking time bomb and so we decided to replace the whole thing. The owner found a great deal on a used engine with less than half the mileage of the original, plus he was able to work with the warranty company and they paid for the majority! These are some really great people with the utmost integrity! Working with them is one of the best experiences Ive ever had with a mechanic.

The nicest most accommodating people I have worked with in along time! Prices are more than reasonable, they kept me updated every step of the way, and took pictures of everything to show me. I also need to mention that my son had a lengthy stay in the hospital during this time and Marco kept my truck in storage, for free, for several weeks for free until I was able to return for it. Several years ago, I found myself in the position of searching for a new auto repair shop. I “Googled” Auto Repair Shops and reviewed my options. I feel extremely blessed to have decided on A&E Auto Repair. The first thing I noticed in the waiting room was a sign that said, “A good repair isn’t cheap, and a cheap repair isn’t good”. I thought that it revealed the mindset of the workmanship and of the service offered; which has been demonstrated time and time again on my older vehicles. I elected to service my 2002 Mustang before it passed the 100,000 mile mark with the full BG product line and now have warranties on all major components. From the first time I entered the shop, up to today, I have been treated with utmost efficiency by the entire staff. These guys go above and beyond. Our car broke down on the highway on the way to the Mayo Clinic, AAA told us they couldn’t fit our young kids in the tow truck and they were sorry. A&E heard we had kids with us and without even asking they contacted a rental car company, got us a discount with them, and arranged for them to pick us up on the side of the highway. As soon as they got the car they spent so much time calling parts stores in the area until they found a store who could deliver the part same day. They are working SO hard to make sure our car is done today so we make our appointment tomorrow morning. They are incredibly nice and honest, I wish I could give them more that 5 stars!

I used to bring my car to A&E but for a few yrs I chose a closer repair shop to where I lived. That proved to be one of the biggest mistakes of my auto life! When I came back, I found out my car hadnt had the 80,000, 90,000 or almost any other mile check. I have a 2000 focus Ive had for 13 yrs and its been a great car. I opted to fix it. Were still in the process of repairs but I couldnt be more greatful to be back in the family! I had also informed Marco & Darlene, I would follow them anywhere.Everyone at A&E is friendly, professional & they treat you like family. Ill never leave again!!!

Marco fit me in on a Friday and was able to help me get a repair plan for my vehicle. I appreciate the time he took to spend with me and find out my needs and financial situation for my car repairs.

Nice people but a 2 hour job turned into 4 days $255 went to $750. Picked my truck up and that night their fix came apart and left me stranded had to pay $30 to get the stuff to refix it myself. Now they wont answer their phoneUpdate: finally got ahold of the owner and he refunded me for the parts I had to buy. My main complaint now is if you arent sure you will get a job done in a certain amount of time and at a certain cost be honest and say Im still not sure how long or how much. Dont give a time and cost without fully looking at a vehicle.
