The entire team was amazing and knowledgeable.I thought I had an issue with my transmission because of a noise and they found what the issue was. They immediately found the issue making the noise and they inspected my transmission and suspension. The professionalism of this staff begins with your phone call to Tom and continues with the teammates in the garage. Our transmission failed during a road trip and we were in a very bad position, far from home. Aamco was recommended by my usual mechanic for transmission service. At Aamco Chad was great to work with, explaining all options and pricing on diagnosing and rebuilding our transmission. We went with the local rebuild to save money over a factory remanufactured unit and are happy with the results. The van is driving smooth and we have the confidence to take long trips again. He even invited us to return after a couple of weeks for a free checkup to verify there were no leaks or other issues. Everything checked out fine and we’re happy we used their service.

My advice is to stay as far away as possible from this place. I brought my transmission in and it is still leaking $3800 I paid total. Was told there was nothing we can do for you by their General Manager Rodger. The condition my car was left in is a whole other story. I was told by a mechanic friend that he never changed the oil pan gasket. And he wont cover the warranty. Im seeking legal council in this matter.

My 1970 Chevelle SS started to leak transmission fluid. I had it towed to AAMCO in Port Charlotte where I met James Cooper. He put my car indoors right away; that was important to me. Next day he sent me pictures and asked me to come down to the shop. With the car on the lift he explained what he found and explained the fix. I was referred to AAMCO by a friend since I was having transmission issues with my Chrysler Town and Country. I first spoke to James C. the customer service manager and he was very knowledgeable and friendly. He helped run a diagnostic check, and explained in detail what my options would be. I next met with Frank one of the technicians and he drove my vehicle with me and wanted to know the vehicle history and what Ive been experiencing with it. He was very personable and listened as he ran more diagnostics. I could tell Frank was a transmission Doctor and is passionate about his work. My transmission was still functioning however, was randomly getting stuck in second gear. This made for a tricky diagnostic. They even went above and beyond the usual diagnostic and helped me not only possible figure out a first step fix that would save me $$ before just replacing the unit which would set me back thousands. I really appreciate mechanics who care about your situation and dont just immediately aim for your wallet. I was so impressed that they not only treated me this way, but I watched them treat another customer with the same commitment and honesty. I watched as James and Frank skipped lunch to help me and another customer. I felt so grateful that I bought a few Publix Chicken meals and some tea for the guys in appreciation. I cant say enough about our experience with AAMCO. First let me say that Rock was great, he is a very customer oriented manager. Our transmission needed to be completely rebuilt. Rock explained the problems and options in a plain no nonsense fashion. Once we got our car back it ran fine until we took it on an extended drive then a pretty serious problem arose. We called Rock and all he was concerned about was getting our car to the shop and fixed right. He was very sincerely concerned and very apologetic. Once they figured out the problem they fixed it no questions asked. A lot of places you go to would have found any way or reason to charge you again saying this was not covered in the work done. Not Rock he stood by his shops work and made it right. I will recommend AAMCO to any friends or family that need repairs without hesitation. The real measure of a shop is how they stand behind their work. Rock and this shop are second to none in this respect. I hope I dont need them again but if I do I will not hesitate to go back to this AAMCO again.

I came to the shop with my car making the most horrible noises. I spoke to Rock, and he told me he will have one of the mechanics test drive it and give me a diagnosis. The next call I received was about the diagnosis, how much it would cost and the lead time. Mind you - this was the day after Christmas - but Rock made it happen. I picked up my car at the time it was promised. My car was fixed - no more noises. Kudos to Rock - an excellent manager - but equally impressive is Luis, the mechanic.I have since recommended this shop to other people. Its so hard to find a repair shop worth trusting. Rock is the absolute best. I am always pretty careful about new shops, mostly because people tend to over charge young females with little car repair knowledge. My transmission blew and Rock did everything possible to fix it quickly and at a fair price. He walked me through the repair options and helped me choose the best one. My mechanic up north was blown away by the outstanding service and respect I had received even though the shop was well aware I had very little knowledge when it came to this repair and was quite desperate to get it fixed as soon as possible. My follow up visits to this shop were just a great, absolutely fair pricing and great work. Outstanding service all around.

While on vacation from Ohio tonight, we were on our way to Ft. Meyers Florida, and our vans trans-coolant line broke and we were stranded with 4 kids on the side of 41, a friend of ours recommended taking it to AAMCO in Port Charlotte, we called and told them and they said bring it in. Once we got there Robert (Rock) Kryzkij pretty much dropped everything he was doing, along his wonderful crew made sure our van was back on the road so our vacation wasnt interpreted. After fixing our can he even hooked us up with Red who works at the auto detailing shop next door and got us a great car wash to get the excess transmission fluid off the windshield and hood of the van. Thanks again guys you rock.

I have never met a more honest and reliable mechanic than Rock! I have lived in Port Charlotte since 2002 and have gone through over a handful of different mechanics over the years, but I will NEVER go anywhere else after the experience we had here! Rock went above and beyond what he had to do. His team is great as well, and I sincerely recommend Aamco in Port Charlotte for whatever you need done (they do more than just transmissions)!

Rock is a great person! I had my transmission go. He showed me everything that was wrong with and got it back on the road in a responsible amount of time. The only hold up was miss communication with the insurance company. But Rock did do his part of the job and did a really good job at it. He is the only mechanic I will take any of my cars to. My father had the following experience: I was about 200 miles from home when my transmission failed. I called the nearest AAMCO and was treated professionally and courteously from the beginning. Of course, this happened near the close of business and Rock was thoughtful enough to remind me that based on the time, I would need a rental car, place to stay, etc. The tow truck brought me to the AAMCO shop after they had closed and I never got to meet anyone. Rock and I texted and phoned through the next three days and he kept me updated with the progress of the repairs and costs. Due to my work schedule and distance from home, I picked up the vehicle on a Sunday when the shop was closed without incident. I have a mobile pet grooming business, I was coming from a job and my transmission started shifting early and jumping around. I pulled into AAMCO to see if they could look at it. I spoke to rock, he surprised me by telling me he would check it out for nothing and let me know what was the matter with it. (2 weeks prior the truck had been in another mechanics shop 7 days strait, cost was $1500), I was very concerned that they would keep it a long time or look at it or want to rebuild the transmission. He caked me in a timely manner to let me know he would be able to fix the problem in a couple of hours and it would only be$200 bucks! Im completely sold on the business I will never go anywhere else.

Worst customer services ever! First I had a scheduled appointment, came in, and was told to come back tomorrow, they were too busy. Next morning I called in, twice, and spoke to the rudest person ever. He told me I missed my appointment and to go somewhere else. When I tried to explain, he stated he didnt want to deal with this and hung up. After telling me to go take my business somewhere else.So do yourself a favor and dont go here.

I went in to have my transmission checked, the technician Frankie hooked up his diagnostic equipment and took a test drive to see if he could repeat the trouble I was experiencing, and he did. So he cleared the cars computers and tested it again, the trouble was gone. He told me if it returned to come back. There was no charge, but I will return there to have my car maintained thank you Branden and Frankie.

My 2006 Ford Ranger began to experience transmission problems. I went to Aamco in Port Charlotte. I met with Rock and he took my Ranger for a ride. Rock was very professional and courteous. Having experienced this type of problem, I fully expected the worse. After a short while, Rock called me and advised me this good news. My transmission was not the problem. It was a small rheostat that told the transmission when to shift. Rock was able to fix this problem at a very reasonable price. During the time Rock had my Ranger, he was able to fix another problem I had with the blower motor. My Ranger runs like it did when it was new. I would recommend Aamco to anyone who experiences transmission problems or any other mechanical problems with their vehicle. excellent mechanic.

Rock at AAMCO saved me over $6000.00 on my Audi transmission repair. He was able to identify a problem that did not require a full replacement that would have cost me over 11K and instead repaired the existing transmission for around 4k. He continues to maintain my car and is my FIRST call when ANYTHING on my AUDI TT needs repair or maintenance.I was not aware that AAMCO is a full service automotive repair center. I had thought they only repaired transmissions and was very impressed with their overall knowledge of the Audi in particular.My AAMCO technicians are highly skilled, honest & friendly. Horrible management of their business. They have all incoming calls going to one persons cell phone. When you walk into their office there is parts just laying around for anyone to trip over. As for my personal experience they would not work on my vehicle until I paid in full, for me coming up with $2,000 is no simple task, so I tried to get a loan, sell some things and it didnt work out. So a family member helped me out so I could get my vehicle back on the road. After over a month of not having my car, which the repair was to be a clutch, as well as a engine flush, I was beginning to become impatient. When I went to the shop, the gentleman I was working with disappeared from the shop. So I went to look at my vehicle to find it covered in dust unlocked with the hood unlatched. I then seek guidance from my peers via social media, and immediailty get bashed and name called by the gentleman from the shop, who now refuses to work on my vehicle.

Ive have never had such a horrible experience at a car repair establishment. I drove my car in for a free estimate for transmission repair. I recieved my estimate 1 week later. The estimate was not competitive with my previous estimate so I informed the manager I would like to come pick up my car. I was then told it would cost me 900$ for labor or I can pick up on a flat bed tow truck as it was completely dismantled. I did pick it up entirely in pieces and had it repaired at another shop. I was told when I arrived that I had to pay to pick up my car but after I said I would call the police all the pieces were handed to me in boxes. The corporate office offered no apology nor did they care about my situation. I never recieved a call from the owner Doug & was told by corporate girl Carley that the manager Rock was let go. Such an AWFUL experience. Horrible customer service, I am sorry I ever went to Aamco Port Charlotte I never would recommend this place to anyone! Also I STRONGLY feel drugs (Im not talking marijuana) were involved in this situation per the actions of the manager Rock, the entire situation and the general shape of the shop. Customers BEWARE!! :(

Im on vacation and got a AT warning light. Beep Beep MCO is what Ive heard for 40 yrs. Spoke with Rock and he opened his shop (normal hrs start Nov1) this is Oct 19th!To the point, problem wasnt even with transmission. He stated he could do the work and gave me a GREAT price plus low labor. I decided to wait and get work done back in Clearwater. He told me no charge. WHAT??? He opened his shop on his day off to help me and found the issues and wont even except anything. Never have I met a nicer more honest person. Wish I could give this shop 10 stars. There is faith in humanity.

I dont know who they pay to write all these great reviews but after reading the reviews for this location and comparing them to the other locations you will see they look FAKE. I got nothing but the run around and a $2200 bill from this place! I got my vehicle back a week after being told it was going to be done. Picked it up from a Tire Kingdom next door on a Saturday where Rock left the keys. It had a check engine light on, which it never did before. Autozone scanned it and said its a transmission speed sensor, probably not plugged in. Funny how I was told two technicians road checked it but didnt notice the check engine light being on, hmnnn. Also was told they would save the used parts for my inspection which never happened and there was no paperwork when picked up such as receipts, invoices, tests that were performed etc...

The manager Rock was considerate and helpful.Fixed the truck and I am back on the road.Thanks to all at AAMCO.

Last week March something 2015, I had ordered a new transmission and was going to do the job if i had gotten my order on time but because of my frustration with some of these transmission shops i was still willing to wait on my transmission to come in so my woman took it upon herself to make a few calls other than the places i called because i had already gotten a ridiculous quote (DOUBLE from a rebuilt transmission is) to overhaul my transmission.She had called local shops in Port Charlotte, Venice, Nokimis and the one that stuck out the most was AAMCO. Now mind you, we had bad experience with AAMCO over on the East Coast of Florida PSL area. We had dropped off her van for a rebuild because the same issue happened again that happened 2 years ago and conveniently it broke couple weeks after her warranty was up so we had to pay to get it rebuilt again but this time they had it for 6 months and when we got it back they STILL didnt have it right. Anyway, Rock was and is very informational. Anything you need to know he gave tips and guidance of how tos. So i took it up there and spoke with him in person...I explained to Rock about our bad experience with AAMCO on the east coast and he stated (which i was not aware of) that not all AAMCOs are corporate related just the name and that they are private/franchised operations...Needless to say because of him and his crews professionalism and the WILLINGNESS to give out their EXPERIENCE in simple terms in explaining of why and how to i left him my truck. and yes, its a Dodge 99 2500 gas. Rock was not only giving me free information based on his experience and knowledge of transmissions he also got the job done in a timely fashion. This AAMCO in Port Charlotte is THE TRANSMISSION SHOP you need to go to. Rock is the man you need to speak with and his crew is the crew that needs to be working on your car. They got my transmission done right the first time in a timely fashion with out excuses of prolonging the job because his crew is sick or lack of man power.
