Originally we were sent to Dr D by Harbor Auto Sales after we purchased our son’s car. He was getting his new tires put on there. While waiting for the tires to come a little issue popped up with the car. We called and the amazing Ms. Deb at the front desk had us come in and before we could blink and think, one of the awesome mechanics went under the hood, found what was wrong, and got to work on it. His car runs amazingly now. I loved the service so much, I took my Suburban there. No one likes to work on “old Betty” cause she’s a Northern car with a lot of rust. The have been so wonderful with my truck and they are so honest. Mike took care of my battery issue this week with no complaints even though I called first thing Monday morning and he was busy with other cars. They are just real good people, with real good honest and true service. Great prices and great service!!

You need to talk to Mike at Dr Ds! the man is super intelligent and has the most funny, interesting, stories possible that I could never acquire in three different lifetimes. theyre the real deal no doubt. 10 outta 10 recommend

My parents have used Dr D’s for years! I figured I would give them a shot and boy was I NOT disappointed! I put my jeep in their shop for one thing and they noticed another issue that was more important that they wanted to fix. Now mind you, I had my jeep in another shop at least three-four times and the other shop never mentioned this issue! There was leaking around my thermostat. Thanks other shop for not caring enough to mention this problem because now I have found my forever mechanic shop! Dr D’s had no obligation to tell me about this other leak but being the honest crew they are, they told me and wanted to fix it immediately! Debbie in the front office treats me like family; very refreshing! I am so thankful to this shop for taking care of my needs plus some! Very satisfied customer and forever customer now!

Genuinely an auto repair shop you can trust. They are very busy. Make an appointment and expect a week or two to get your car in. Worth the wait if you want good people to work on your car.

Love Dr. Ds. From the fabulous front desk to the dumpster. Had my car there 2x and both x they were the most painless situation I have been in with my wonderful Saturn VUE. I recommend this place to everyone. Price was great, for I am on SSI and got my car back in one day!!!! This was my first time at Dr. D’s and I couldn’t be more impressed. It’s very difficult finding a mechanic you can trust, and the good reviews here are for a reason. I finally gave up on my local Punta Gorda mechanic G. Gormans earlier this year after constantly getting ripped off and taken to the bank. My last $260 dollar tuneup from there that only included 8 spark plugs was all I needed to start my new search. First, I had taken my truck to another mechanic due to having intermittent a/c issues due to a possible vacuum leak. He quoted me $179 for the diagnostic without knowing the price to fix. I took it to Dr. D’s and he had my truck fixed quickly and it was a simple part that didn’t require a vacuum test. Because of his experience, and honesty, he was familiar with a common failure of my truck that was caused by a very affordable replacement part. Being a new customer, I was blown away by their honesty and did not trying to overcharge me for an easy fix. Just a great place an old fashioned mechanic that is reputable and treats you fairly. Glad I found them!!!

Honest helpful knowledgeable mechanic. The place to go where you dont have to worry about being lied to. And Debbie is great at keeping you in the loop about what is happening to your car and working you in for an appointment.

I bought a 2002 corvette and I had problems after 3 days I heard he is the corvette God of repairs well he proved me right he did some Mac giver stuff to my car until I order parts and let me tell you I couldnt of met a nicer guy and his secretary were absolutely awesome .didnt charge me and he educated me on what to buy and how things work I want to thank you Mike for your experience and I hope you enjoy the bud light .lol this man has my business for life .lol.mike you may want to block my number lol I have worked very hard for my vette and I was tired of getting bent over when it comes to car repairs. So take your vehicle to Dr ds in port Charlotte he will not steer you wrong .thanks again an old trucker broad.very happy .Kathy k

Id give Mike 6 stars if I could. Mike has worked on all our cars, from an old Yukon, to our $100K custom street rod. He is honest to a fault and extremely competent/professional. I have yet to have a need to take one of our cars back for a re-do.
