I love the apartments- spacious and clean. But if you live by the entrance, the gates are old. They squeak very loudly opening and closing after every car all night. They are set on a timer, so around 7pm the gates become so annoying., Im not sure I will renew my lease. Sleep is very important to recharge. Management leaves at the end of the day and have not tried to attend to this issue that occurs all night.
THEY DONT EVEN DESERVE 1 STAR AT THE PRESENT MOMENT!!!!! I Reside in one of the units and rats have since then taken over my garage. How they got in is still a mystery. I also complained about rats being by the pool. I’m so ready to break my lease and run out of here. I’m so scared to go into my garage. I had bees coming into my home from the large windows and it took maintenance two months to replace the window ledger where the bees where coming from. Now my A/C unit is not working and I am constantly complaining. I’m so overwhelmed and tired of this.
My complaints are:1. i moved in last week, with no washer and dryer units that were suppose to be provided by the complex. I was not not informed of this before moving in. so i had to go into the office myself and ask if there was suppose to be units in my home and the answer was YES.2. dont call the office, no one will pick up.3. the plug in my master bath was clogged up with hair, a hair tie, and paint. yum4. i had a leak in my sink, two days after moving in. maintenance got right on that. the man that fixed it was sweet. he wore a mask and shoe coverings.5. dry paint randomly scattered on the carpet6. Orange/yellow lighting, very dark. I bought light bulbs myself and replaced them allOther than that, its a quiet neighborhood and very clean
New management should improve on communications. Existing auto-pay stopped working, no communication about new management and today contractors working on apartment roof making loud sounds while I was taking work calls. As a courtesy, such repair works should have been communicated to residents.
Rent is due tomorrow. The complex has been taken over by new management.Email that’s we have for you guys has been kicked back, undeliverable.Try to call the phone number for the office and you get a dial tone. The online portal has been switched over to a new one and when you try to make a profile it says you don’t have an active tenant ID.The office is dark and no one is there. How is this legal? Is anyone there..?How are we supposed to move out when our last day is the 18th. Someone needs to do something so your tenants can pay rent tomorrow! This is a nightmare!
In the main, this is a nice place to live. But heaven help you if you work from home trying to get peace and quiet on a conference call. They employ landscapers who seem to have a fetish for leaf blowers, and will run them nonstop 2 or 3 days a week for a minimum 3 hours or so.Living in any of the apartments by the pool area makes this unbearable during daytime working hours, and I cant imagine trying to sleep if you work at one of the nearby hospitals at night.
The old management had its flaws, but at least they were friendly. Some (not all) members of the new staff are very rude.
Outwardly, the community is nice. Models are deceiving. Not all units have been upgraded nor properly restored or prepped for the next resident. Prepare to do your own work for it. Rent is overly priced either way. More so for units still bearing the dated look. Needed repairs are not resolved but sealed with a band-aid anyone could do themselves. Maintenance is nice and friendly but the quality of the work is very much lacking. Better off spending money to do it yourself with help/guidance from outside professionals. Present your receipts to the office manager for reimbursement. Legally you can take this action. Refer to the TX Atty General’s website TX Tenants Rights section for details. There is an enormous amount of noise in the apartments, particularly first floor units with 2-6 condensers outside the (bedroom) window and in some cases with an air duct in the bedroom blasting off like one in a cheap motel room, creaky ceilings with neighbors every step, neighbors slamming of things on the floor you can hear a floor board actually crack. The crowd of people is diverse however starting to show more of a problematic vibe. Office manager is friendly at first meet but the mood is short-lived and discriminative behavior sets in. She’s also non-confrontational so raising concerns or complaints about a neighbor or anything else is a waste of time. Call police for matters regarding smell of marijuana and/or other suspicious activity for prompt response. Very unprofessional showing incompetence. If able to, put that same money on a newer complex where all units are ”new”. Best of luck to you!
Shoutout to Ms.Angie for answering the phone and solving my issue immediately! These apartments have been pretty good so far. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone trying to move to Plano.
Does not say which request I am rating. If it was the toilet it did not seem to work the first time after it was fixed but then it did start working after the first flush. But they used my brush and did not clean it so I had to throw it away it was so dirty. But was grateful because it was working. Always have great service so was a little surprised by this one. Have not heard anything about the broken sprinkler in my basement. Wrong gmail account was used for this response.
Gina is like the best Manager this community has had! She has the knowledge, the attitude and the wear-with-all to get things done. Gina is always happy to see you, no matter what the problem is that you are having and does what she can to solve it to your satisfaction. Best!!!
I moved in February of 2021. The apartments condition upon move in was sub par and none of my keys worked. Within two months my garbage disposal broke and flooded my kitchen, my ac unit broke down and I was without ac for days before they finally ordered a new unit, my fridge broke and stayed broken for two and a half months even though I submitted 6+ service requests each of which they said the fridge was fixed…over 500$ of rotten food later and a terrible smell from my fridge I threatened to relinquish my lease they finally ordered me a new fridge. I had to help them install it. When I called the property manager Gina to complain she said “it sounds like you’re just having a bad week” as if this was somehow my fault. Then my ac went out again because of electrical issues. Took 5 frustrating phone calls to have it fixed as it was 90 degrees in my apartment and maintenance said they’d fix it in an hour but still no ac for two days.I am disappointed as I should have not experienced any of the delays to these issues being fixed (each time they told me the fridge was fixed I went and got groceries which went bad in two days and I ended up just eating out for two months costing me a boatload)I believe I should be reimbursed for the groceries I lost and for the sub par/awful property management.
Thank Amber for quickly taking care of the issue with my dryer. You are awesome!
We just moved in this weekend 12/26. We had a couple of things that needed fixed from our initial walk through and within 2 days everything has been taken care of and handled with professionalism and so excited to be apart of this community. The leasing and maintenance staff has been awesome.
From my initial call to look at a apartment it was amazing. Gina was outstanding and very professional. She showed me a two bedroom which was very nice as well as went over my options on leasing. Two days later she called me to tell me I was approved and today I moved in. The Marquette at Preston Park is lovely, very peaceful and I’m excited about living here. Gina you’re the Greatest!
He did above and beyond. He got the hot water working and also helped carry some of my recently delivered packages up the stairs.
Edson did a great job but we still don’t have heat and it’s 18 degrees out.
The apartments are attractive to look at but poorly built. Fire sprinkler pipes break, flooding apartments. Maintenance men enter apartments without tenants prior knowledge and permission. Items of value go missing. Parking is inadequate. There are single car attached and separate garages and limited striped parking spaces. Tenants will park in other tenants’ drives making exiting difficult. Periodically city of Plano inspectors can enter and inspect apartments. Tenants can post a door notice requesting their apartment be excluded. Some garages can be accessed via hallway doors. These garages can be broken into using a screwdriver to pop open the door. Items stored in garages are stolen. Garages can be accessed externally by a key inserted into a lock that’s in a panel of the garage door. This is the way certain apartments are accessed by maintenance men when tenants aren’t home. Tenants can file police reports for their missing items, but the police aren’t able to recover their stolen property. Packages delivered by FedEx, UPS, etc., that are left in the apartment management office mail room for tenants to pick up, are gone from the mail room before tenants can get them. Caveat emptor: “Let the buyer beware.”
Excellent work everytime. Thanks for your help in fixing all the maintenance issues.
From the application process to my actual move in, I am 100% pleased.
Edson is great! Prompt & exceeded expectations.
I’ve been here for about 9 months and I love it. It’s very quiet and everyone is polite. After looking at several townhouses, we are happy we chose Marquette.
Going on 4 years living here. Maintenance is always top notch! Very responsive and any problem Ive ever had is resolved quickly.
Service was fast and efficient, as always.
We have been living here about 7 years now. With each new owner, rebranding, and management, it has only got worse. I have to say for the first few years we really enjoyed living here. Professional, friendly staff with great community activities. Sadly, that has eroded throughout the years. I once had all my tools stolen from my garage. The back entry doors are nothing more than bathroom doors with a lock on the knob. This is supposed to be a gated community, and yet the front, main gates are always broken. They fix it, it breaks again. This has been going for years. In the past I would have given this place 4 stars, now I can only give it 2 stars. And yes, we are moving out.
I would not recommend renting here. I recently moved out and was charged a move-out fee. I was confused because I made a $580 severity bond payment prior to my move-in.. they didnt do security deposits. For those who dont know, a severity bond is not the same as a security deposit. Severity bonds are a one time payment that you will not see again no matter how clean and great you left your apartment after move out. This payment essentially covers your small damages, cleaning, nail holes, and all those things that come along with living somewhere (within reason). I thought it was a great idea since I knew I wouldnt trash the place and wouldnt have to deal with payments or security deposit issues after I moved out. However, when I asked why my severity bond payment did not cover my move-out fees (its whole purpose) the management told me it was because they no longer worked with the 3rd party company to which I paid the severity bond to back in December. So those accounts are no longer valid or exists. So, because management changed their severity bond business partner in the middle of my lease term my severity bond money was for nothing and basically disappeared. So, if you are currently renting here you may want to check in on this and if you are looking to rent here despite all these warning reviews let’s hope they dont change business partners and loose your $600 payment as well.
I have to say Ive been here 5 years and have no complaints. Christina in the office is amazing. You will be taken care of. I read some of the other reviews and can honestly say Ive never once had a problem with staff or maintenance. Edison in maintenance is awesome. Highly recommend if you are not wanting to be around a lot of noise or parties. Very spacious homes:)
Edson always goes above and beyond!!!! Thank you Edson for the continued excellent customer service!
Great Maintence on their apartments.. Repairs are usually made within a few hours on the same day...
Edit: My boyfriend ended up touring these apartments & liked the layout. Niveen has been very helpful & patient with the application process. Thank you Marquette @ Preston for hiring Niveen. I hope the other leasing agents are like her.(1star) I was looking forward to know about prices on your two bedrooms here, so I called. Sadly, I was answered by a rude woman. I said the name of the apartments incorrectly & she corrected me, then hung up. I hope you guys haven’t lost anyone else’s interest like you’ve lost mine due to that inconsiderate leasing agent.
I have lived here for 7 years. I Love it!! Quiet, beautiful landscape and great location. The maintenance is the Best! The office Lana, dearie and new lady Niveen are always professional, helpful and kind. They take extra time to help you with anything. I recommend 100%!!
I dont understand why anyone would rate this apartment complex anything less than 5 stars. Ive lived here for close to 3 years. The staff is very friendly. The amount of events and free stuff that the community offers is amazing. Anything from free food, to pool events, pizza parties, beer and chat, movie events, etc. The apartments themselves are quite and close to so many great places to eat, shop and do groceries at. The only con I can think of is the constant battle for finding a good parking space but outside of that everything else has been amazing.10/10 would instantly recommend this place (and have before) to anyone.
I lived here on 2 separate occasions. My last stay was for about 7 years. I think living there for 7 years gave me some experience to comment on what Marquette has to offer. This is a great place to live! Hands down! The entire staff is top rate. They are always willing to help. The maintenance team is the best. You would be hard pressed to find a better team of folks looking out for your apartment home. The apartments are beautiful inside and well maintained. I work from home and take my living space very seriously. I was there during 2 different management teams. Brooke passed the management baton to Tim, Christine and the wonderful Dorothy. They did not miss a beat. Now we all know everything doesn’t always go as planned...so yes I had issues come up but I knew I could pick up the phone and things would get handled. Frank and Edson went above and beyond to make sure my maintenance requests were handled. I love the city I’m in now but I really miss living at Marquette!
I moved from the Marquette at Preston Park last month and I would not recommend this apartment complex. Initially when I moved there the property management team was wonderful but the manager left and the remaining team members also left. Since my rent was cheap I decided to continue living there but when it was time for my lease renewal I encountered issues with the new manager. After I accepted the renewal offer that was presented to me online the manager told me that the numbers were wrong. When I spoke to her to try to remedy the matter she was dismissive and did not apologize for her error. She simply told me that I could give notice and move, so I did. Luckily she was terminated prior to my move after sending a very unprofessional email to the entire community. Although I have moved I’m still dealing with issues with the complex as they are trying to overcharge me for damages I didn’t cause. I’ve never had this type of experience with any other apartment complex and I wouldn’t wish it upon anyone.
Im surprised at how terrible the previous reviews make the place sound! I have lived here for the past 2.5 years and have absolutely loved the experience! The apartments are clean and well kept and I have barely ever had any issues with the appliances. Even if something were to break down, the maintenance team is fabulous and it gets fixed in a day. You can take my word for it, since I have lived in 2 different apartments at Marquette at Preston park. I agree the apartments are older, but the newer residents wont have a problem since the management is updating every new apartment they lease. I just moved into a newly renovated one and it has everything new... from carpets, to appliances, to light fixtures. The little welcome basket kept in my new apartment with a handwritten note was the sweetest, most thoughtful little gift. Tim, Christina and Dorothy at the leasing office do a great job with being on top of everything. I am very satisfied with my current living experience and hope that the new residents feel the same way.
Been here for 3 years and always so happy with the maintainence of this apartment complex. The staff here is so great, efficient and helpful.
I have lived at Archstone for over a year and could not be happier. The staff Brooke, Christina and Tim are outstanding always willing to help and always happy. If I have a repair I put it in and someone is here either the same day no later than the next day.I love ArchstoneBrenda
Went in to inquire about a one bedroom unit and was treated very rudely. Lady that attended us legit had the audacity to laugh in our faces when asking questions. When asked to see the rooms available she pretended to not have time to show us. I do not recommend this place to anyone. Horrible customer service.
Ive only lived here for a few months, but I have ZERO complaints. Even though we just moved in, we wanted a bigger space. Management made this the easiest process for my husband and I and had it taken care of within one week. The location is very tucked away and the complex stays pretty quiet. Highly recommend if you are looking at the Plano area! Also VERY dog friendly.
This is a great community. Great team here that hosts events for the complex. Keep up the good work.
Deidre was very nice when my daughter went to apply for an apartment and tried her best to answer the questions we had.
Way over priced dumps that need major upgrading and remodeling. The apartment management is so-so and they try to control the dogs pooping all over the property with no success. I stayed and fulfilled my one year lease and that was it was for me. I would not recommend for price or niceness only for convenience as it was for me at the time
Let me start off with this place looks appealing on the outside. I wished to live here since last year, so once my lease was ending at my apartment down the street, I decided to apply for the apartment that I wanted last year. I applied, and Jill was helpful at first with getting it set up and for me to finally get into the apartment that was perfect for me. Then issues started arising from left to right. After I gave them my application fees and everything, the niceness was gone. I had an appointment at 10:30am to see my new apartment, showed up and no one was in the office. I proceeded to wait in my car for a hour, without complaining and ended up leaving after seeing her take another couple back who didn’t have an appointment and literally ran away from me and the office and locked it. I still tried to keep calm and carry on. I emailed her and said I was there but she seemed busy so I’ll gave to make time next week. She replied in a snarky tone: “well you could have came inside, haha”. For what? I To stand and wait inside a hallway for you to come back after I have been waiting for over an hour when my time is precious to me since I’m always busy!!? So I brushed that off. Next, we have the worst part of the whole experience. I talked to a lady named “Deidre”, and the office manager who were probably the worst human beings that I have encountered in a while. The send me an email saying my application was declined because of my proof of income. I’m a 1099 employee, therefore I don’t have actual paystubs. I make at least 3-4 times the rent to afford the 1 bedroom that I applied for. So I try to figure out ways that I can prove my income. So with no responses, I finally just say screw it, and apply AGAIN because I need to get into a place fast. I get a phone call from deidre and the office manager lady and basically I’ve never been more disrespected in my entire life than I have with these two trashballs. First, deidre who’s in “accounting”, in a condescending aggressive tone questions “why did you apply another time if your first application got declined, haha ?”and is scoffing and laughing in the background. And I said well because, I messed up on my original application and need to prove my income to y’all...and then she proceeds to insinuate that I’m lying about how much I make. Who even does that to a customer?? I’m a front office manager and medical esthetician and I would never say the things that these ladies said. Then the office manager was just letting her treat me like a piece of s*** over the phone when I finally breakdown and cry and say I don’t understand why I’m being treated this way, I just want to move into an apartment that I know I qualify for, I have the money. The office manager changes her tone slightly, unapologetically, and says come up here tomorrow with last years tax return and I will make sure you get in. I decided after me crying and losing $600 on application fees that it’s not worth dealing with these people on a daily basis. They won’t ever be getting my business and I will won’t refer anyone that I know to them. Stay far away, this place needs better management. Everything happens for a reason, I ended up with the house of my dreams for just $200 more a month down the street, with no hassle!!! Don’t even think about renting here.
Mostly a good experience for us. Maintenance requests are handled promptly - Edson the fix-it guy is awesome and provides great customer service. Plenty of parking, with garages and covered parking avaialble. There is a tiny dog park. Many people have dogs, and there are a few idiots who dont clean up after them, though 95% do. The pool area is very nice. Its a very convenient location for shopping, restaurants, and also close to the PGBT and Dallas North Tollway - making it a quick shot to either DFW airport or Dallas Love Field. The folks in the office are pretty nice. The tvs in the workout room work, but the remote controls seems to be always be missing - please fix that !
Lived there short-term in 2015, and judging from recent reviews posted here, nothing has changed. Ours was not at all a great experience. Looks very well-kept from the outside but apartments are dated with old, cheap appliances, in the kitchen everything was sticky to a point where one couldnt even clean it anymore (I tried!). A/C problems (going out, water leaking through the ceiling), sink clogged, you name it. Also: Walls are paper-thin and we were unfortunate enough to live next to a family with two endlessly barking and howling dogs as well as overactive children (pictured them jumping from furniture for hours). Prices are high and what you pay for here is Plano and the vicinity to shopping and restaurants. Would never live there again. PS: Yes, Tim tries to do his best but that still doesnt help if something breaks or malfunctions every other week...
Management is the worst. Ever. Do nothing but sending useless email about party and movie. I mean, cmon, cannot you just do something about the dog poop and midnight trash bags? They send email telling us they care, well, what we care is he price, maintenance and the management. And its so far away to reach the expectations with unreasonable rate given the environment. I dont recommend anyone rent here. And dear owner, you can save you BS comment below my review cuz I know you aint gonna fix anything.
I understand most of the apartment rental companies are here to make money, but this one is beyond top in that list!!! The rents are way too high and they don’t have even the basic amenities like children’s play area. Most people fall in trap looking at the apartments from outside but it’s not maintained inside. And there is no rational behind the increase in rent at the time of renewal. Management is horrible, they are not at all considerate. They lie on your face (I usually don’t like writing such things but multiple such interactions have forced me to do so). Please stay away from this place, there are certainly better places in this area.Management team: please don’t bother to reply, I have given enough opportunities to discuss my concerns.
My sincerest review; these apartments are not worth what they are charging. I lived here for 2 years and within the first 2 months the livingroom and the second bedroom both got infested with red ants! I called the pest control and they said they couldnt come till 2 weeks later! Im allergic to ants and got bit a number of times where my leg swelled up twice its size. They had to fumigate 4 times and the ants would just come back 4 or 5 months later. They add a lot of random fees to your bill and say its charges that they have a right to charge at whatever rate they want. The rent also goes up by over $150 every year, along with all the random fees they make you pay multiple times in one bill. The property manager is SUPER rude and he gets an attitude with you for no reason and starts yelling at you like a lunatic. All the amnesties are ancient, extremely old. Do not waste your money and pay $1600-1900/mth for this trash, its not worth it. I only stayed because it was close to my job and I signed a contract but I just cant take it anymore so I am now running! ... RUN! 🏃 At move out, I left the apt spotless but they charged me $180 for the carpet cleaning and even more for other fees. A pathetic and desparate excuse to keep all of my deposit. The most dishonest and disgusting people I have ever dealt with. Next.
Ive been here for 2 yrs, its always clean, great staff! Couldnt imagine living anywhere else!
WORST apartment experience of my life. The management changed hands while I was there and that did not improve squat. Things only got worse. Tim the manager is a pompous buffoon. There are tons of apartment complexes that are better than this one in this area so dont make the same mistake I made by paying 2K a month for a shoddy 2 bdrm apartment. Trash left piled up every where by the dumpster, Dog poop everywhere, interior appliances go out on a every week basis and never get replaced, just fixed. There are so many things wrong with these apartments that I have no clue how people arent having an uprising on management. BEWARE & STAY CLEAR!!!!
Dorothy is amazing!! Went beyond to help me with this process and becoming a new resident!!
The manager and staff needs to be replaced seriously., mainly the manager, hes a joke Fake and full of bs... to many lies.
Tim is the Best!
This place is running Deposit scam called the Deposit Choice Bond, at the time of signing the lease they will say the deposit is refundable, at the time of Move out NO DEPOSIT is refunded BEWARE, strongly NOT RECOMMENDEDAlso BEWARE of the Ozone Machine scam
