Been going to them for years since I live a couple blocks away. Always have received great service and feel they do quality work - whether Im getting my eyebrows done or a manicure or pedicure. And they have continued to do a great job during this COVID time once they were able to open back up. They have always been a very clean salon, they just increased their measures - masks required, temp checks and sanitizing hands as soon as you come through the door, plexiglass at and between every nail station pedicure bowls/station, sanitizing the area after every customer - and I just went like 3 days ago and they are still doing these protocols which makes me feel more comfortable.Recommend checking them out, and of course I plan on going back as long as I live in the neighborhood since it is my go-to nail salon.
I made an appointment for a full set gel and a gel pedicure. They gave me the appointment time of 2:45pm. When I arrived at 2:45pm, three nail techs were sitting on their phones and not a single customer was inside.Half way through my pedicure at 3pm, I was told that they don’t have time to do a full set since they close at 5:30pm and to call back next week for a new appointment. When I was paying at 3:15pm, they took someone for a manicure and a pedicure.I would have expected the pedicure to be worth the money too. Unfortunately, it was absolutely terrible.Save your money and time and go elsewhere. You’ll be highly disappointed.
The crew of ladies who work here are incredibly sweet and accommodating. They do an excellent job, can’t wait to come back!
Friendly staff. Great work. Loved both the manicure and pedicure.
I told the owner I didn’t like the color i selected after half my nails were done. She started to yell at me and took nail polish off half my nails. I was so scared of her i left with only half my nails done and still paid. She proceeded to yell at me as i left until i got on the street. It was harrowing. Ps went to Heritage across the street where they were very professional and there was no yelling
After trying many different places, this is becoming my go-to place for my acrylics! Ive always had such a great experience. The technicians are so sweet and put in extra care to make sure you really like the shape, length, and color youve chosen as theyre going, which I really appreciate. The acrylics Ive gotten done here have always lasted around 3 weeks or longer--and I can be very rough/clumsy with my hands so Im used to breaking nails much sooner. My dad has also had a great experience here getting pedicures LOL (no polish). He first recommended this place to me, and Im sure would recommend male clients too.Theyre well-staffed and usually can take walk-ins, at least on weekdays.Only drawback is that they only accept cash, but they have an ATM inside that only has a $1 fee, and theres a PNC right next door
I have been going here for years now, and I have never been disappointed! Wouldnt go anywhere else. 💕
I was a little torn between giving a 4, 3 or 2 stars. Been here a few times because it’s near my job and am usually satisfied with the service overall. But each time it’s always one thing with my nails that leaves me feeling like something is lacking or could be better and I can’t help but compare to other places. First of all it’s really nice in there and the spa pedicure feels great. Jenny did a really good job on my pedicure, from the polish to the massage. I also appreciate the complimentary water they gave me. However, I, like a previous reviewer, am disappointed in my color match (or mismatch). I got a gel mani and regular pedi and the older woman who appears to be the owner helped me pick out colors and even when I doubted she assured me they matched. They both had the same OPI number and everything but from looking at the bottle I wasn’t a believer. At the end it didn’t match and I told all 3 of the woman in there (one who worked on my pedi, one who did the mani, and one who picked the color) that I was disappointed with the mismatch. All three of them went on to ignore me or smile and nod as if they did not understand English. I even told the manicurist one my mani was done to tell the women who picked out the color she was wrong they didn’t match and she kindly ignored me. Then as I went to pay, I told the same who picked the colors out they didn’t end up matching and she went on to pretend she didn’t hear me. Lucky for them I had to go back to work and was just not in the mood to go back and forth, make a case and have them re- do my nails. It seems small but to reassure a customer that the polishes match after they doubt and then to go on to ignore is not good business. Not only that- i was asked if i wanted my cuticles cut and i asked the manicurist what she thought and she said it’s really up to me. Okay. Not helpful- you’re supposed to be the nail tech who sees bad cuticles all the time. I told her i usually don’t get them cut and when i do my skin peels underneath so no. At the end of the service she tells me next time i should get them cut, as if my nails didn’t look good because my cuticles weren’t cut. Why would i want to leave feeling as if my nails were not the best and that even my nail tech wasn’t satisfied with the outcome? Not satisfied today and may not go back. Just tired of feeling so-so with my experiences there.
Gel manicure - First she used an electric file to take my existing gel off, no soak off, nails chipped after 2 days and now after a week they are totally chipped and look horrible. Nails are super thin due to the filing. Will not be returning.
The staff are very friendly and accommodating. However, my OPI gel nail polish started chipping after only two days. My nails looked horrible after less than two weeks. The pedicure with regular polish was great and I would recommend that but not the gel manicure.
I was very disappointed in the attitude of some of the nail techs. I believe she’s the head of the salon but she’s also the rudest. Her name is Amy, and she was extremely rough with my nails and fingers. At one time I pulled my hand back because it hurt that bad and told her to be more gentle. She looked at me like I was crazy. No sorry or anything. I’m only leaving stars because I had a pedicure from a young tech before my nails and she was fantastic! Polite, courteous and attentive! She really should of been running the place. I’m so disappointed because I spent $85 on a fill which I got no polish on my nails because I was so over Amy and I needed to leave before it escalated. Poor establishment. (End of rant.)
The work they did for my gel manicure was very sub par. After a day my nails already started to peel. They are also very expensive for the amount of work they do. They also tried to coerce me into giving a bigger tip than what I originally offered.
A great experience from start to finish! I rarely go to get pedicures, but I immediately felt calm & relaxed at Polaris. My lady did a great job on the European pedicure and the whole staff was very friendly. I felt pampered & taken care of here. Definitely stop by!
I wish I could give them zero. very rude and unprofessional staff. their gel polish is fake and mine is removed after two days! I made my reservation from three months ago and when I went there they said we have another person who is coming and then they started to take care of my polish both manicure and pedicure at the same time and they finish it within 30 minutes!! it usually takes 2 hours for gel manicure and pedicure. So imagine how they finished my work within 30 minutes for gel manicure and pedicure!!! I never ever go to this place again. they are fake and very unprofessional and they always overbook to take care of more costumers and make more money!
Had a great time here! But book an appointment, especially if you want to come in the evening after 5. They get busy really fast.
What an amazing find!! This is by far the best nail salon I’ve been too. The service is amazing and the women are beyond kind. They do a fantastic job across the board. I got a pedicure from Sophia and a powder dip manicure from Esther. This should become everyones
Went to this nail salon for a dip power manicure and pedicure and I am extremely unsatisfied with the service. The young lady you did my pedicure was great but the lady who did my so called dip powder manicure was inconsistent, had a terrible attitude and the way she did my nails was awful. After two days my nails started peeling. I went back for them to correct the issue and after two days my nails started peeling again.
Was very disappointed. If I could give the place zeros stars I would. They didn’t give me what I asked for and I told the owner while I was paying I was unhappy with them and they didn’t turn out how I wanted and she didn’t think to fix them but just wanted me to pay. Being upset with the rude attitude and how my nails turned out I didn’t want to tip and when I left the owner chased me out of the building yelling to give them a tip. As I was taking out money out to hand her.. because I felt embarrassed.. a bunch of money fell to the ground and she took it without handing it back to me. Poor service and I have never experienced businesses being run like that.
My Nail Stylist, Ira, was really gentle while handling my hands and nails. I went on Friday at 5-ish so they werent too booked. Overall, will recommend to friends in the area! ❤️
Wish I could give 0 stars. First of all the owner was very rude to me the entire time and unfriendly. She did my nails and made me BLEED upwards of five times on my cuticles. I kept telling her she was hurting me and she CONTINUED to be rough the whole time. At one point I was in borderline tears. It made me wonder if she even was a certified nail tech. I wish I told her to stop doing my nails and I wish I got up and left. She kept going on her phone and getting up and leaving me. It took a total of 2 hours for her to do my nails. After all of that it cost me $90 for my nails. Unbelievable experience I would not recommend this place for anyone!!
Love, Love, LOVE this place! Everyone is so professional and super friendly! Made me feel so comfortable and the added massages, hot wax, and hot stones was delightful! My new nail place has been found! 🤗😍
I’m a very easy customer. All I get is a regular mani pedi. This salon always meets my expectations. It is clean and comfortable. They have a nice selection of nail polishes and even have WiFi. I have always had an enjoyable experience when I visited this salon.
Theyre AMAZING! Im there every 3 weeks like clock work...most salons I would have to go back after 2 weeks or even 1. But, this place is amAzing and Stella is on point! I walk outta there feeling like a princess 👸🏻 I highly recommend Polaris & I HIGHLY HIGHLY Recommend Stella!
My fiancé and I had European pedicures (with hot stone massage) and we loved them! They did most of my dip mani while my feet were being worked on. Both look great! Prices were reasonable and we were basially the only people in there at midday on a Sunday.
I was eager to try a new nail salon walking distance from my job. As I was choosing my color I felt rushed one of the nail techs tried to assist me and agreed they had little to no options of the color I wanted. After making my choice I began to make my way to the chair to be serviced. I stopped at the PNC next door so when I walked in I had the cash folded in my hand. Before I sat down the nail tech went to reach for the cash. I was appalled I could not believe she tried to TAKE the money out of my hand before even being serviced. I was very open about this being my lunch break and having limited time. She insisted on up-selling my regular pedicure. After I allowed my polish to dry I proceeded to pay in full. I could see the nail tech tapping her pockets insisting that the cashier suggest a tip. As I walked out another nail tech followed me out of the salon and down the street when I heard her calling me I stopped, and I asked what was wrong. She asked me why I didnt tip. I could not believe that she came outside to harass me it was soooo embarrassing. People are walking down the street watching us go back and forth. I kindly let her know that the entire experience I felt uncomfortable and unwanted from the very beginning but as I was already in the chair I went with the services. She continued to try and convince me that I owed the nail tech a tip and that because she didnt speak English maybe thats why my experience was poor. Instead of arguing I let her know to reevaluate their training for their staff and walked away ... I WILL NOT BE BACK and would NEVER refer anyone here. I would not send my pet dog to be serviced here.
Overall great experience! I great manicure and they gave a great massage when you get your nails done.
I don like how they request tips from customers. I did not like their service but I had to pay them tip as I do like. I will never go there again. Plus why I didn like? Usually you go to a nail salon, you want your dead skin around your nails removed not just paint the nails. they did not even soak my fingers in water and tried to cut dead skin right away and even hurted me. Bad service, I would not recommend this place.
$70 for a full set... very expensive. $20 extra if I had wanted gel polish (thats outrageous!). Very sloppy, I have a lot of glue/nail under my nail and on my finger tips and my cuticles look terrible. Very disappointed in the quality of service.
$90 for a full set of acrylics that ALL lifted within 2 weeks. Not to mention the application was PAINFUL. The tech who did my nails was the manager, I believe. I went to a different salon and the girl immediately told me that these acrylics had been done terribly. Disappointing given the price.
My cuticle is still bleeding, an hour later. I asked them to help me choose a color for my pedicure that would match the shade I selected for my gel manicure, and they turned out to be nothing alike. At the end both of my nail techs were awkwardly hovering until I produced their tips. Not a good experience.
Super clean and service was wonderful! I went in last Sunday for mani/pedi and I loved the work they did and the staff was very friendly. I will definitely go back
The details are too many $ and (qaulity of service) troublsome to list. Every bad review on here pretty much sums it up and there are many. Amy was rough, rude and unpleasant. When asked to apply less pressure, or that my hand which was bieng turned too often in an uncomfortable position; she responded by defensive confrontation and did nothing to ease or compromise. She was incredibly rude at the time of payment, and never mind that I was bieng a good sport while being forgetton and left several times between and during my mani- pedi, but it seemed she was annoyed at their failure of time management and took it out on me because it was nearing closing time. The other technicians were as sweet as day and apologized for her over and over. They said they were short staffed that day and that Amy has a rude way with customers. They pleaded that I come back because it was my first visit. I really hope she doesnt treat her staff as poorly too. Someone needs to put that women in her place
My sister liked her prom nails, they saw her a walk in.
Too much money for too little service. There are nail salons in center city rhat charge half as much and have way more included in the service.
Terrible experience! I went twice, the first time it was kinda ok, not great, but fine. Second time the technician that did my pedi, was rushing so much and didnt do any cleaning. I asked her if she was done and she realized how bad it was. It was so bad, that it would be the same thing if I had it just polished. I canceled my mani, because it was just a waist of time and money. Terrible
The owner, Amy was very rude and unprofessional and lost herself a customer today. She charged me $10 for gel removal and I was overall very aggressive when handling my nails.
AVOID THIS PLACE!!!Extremly disappointed. 30$ for a French manicure, regular nail polish. The girl did a horrible job, the lines on the bottom of my nails are uneven, she applied the nail polish too thick, my nails feel bumpy. Worst experience ever!
VERY UNCOMFORTABLE & RUDE .... AMY was horrible, handled my nails extremely rough & they are uneven ! THEN THEY REQUEST TIPS, i gave my tip to the lady who made me comfortable, amy is horrible!
Only good things to say. I came from out of town for a wedding and wanted to get my nails done. Google reviews were sparse for places near me and this place only had one review from six years ago. But as of June 2015, they are great! Clean, friendly, and relaxing. Got a mani-pedi for $40. On weekdays theyre $30, so if youre local, go mon-thurs! Thanks to Kate and Rachel for a great experience out of water. :-)
This nail salon is blatantly racist and did a great job of making myself and my friend feel very uncomfortable and unwanted in their establishment.
Had a great mani pedi from Danielle!
Didn’t get what i ask first and ask me for tips! And when i gave her 5. Dollars she looked at me like it wasn’t enough!
Got a gel manicure and they came off less than 3 days later in the shower.
Great customer service!
