Hello FitLife, I hope you are having a good day so far. I went in for my third visit today. I wanted to try the yoga program but I was early. So I didn’t leave the yoga room. I did some cycling today. Then I did some ab exercises. After my set I rolled onto my belly to stretch out my abs. That’s where I noticed a flea. It jump towards me. I found a second flea. I showed and informed staff.
I would like to commend the staff at Fitlife since their organization, communication and treatment were all excellent. My first therapist (Cheryl) was absolutely Fabulous and when I needed follow up visits, Sammy did a very good job of treatment and instruction for continuing exercises at home. Virtually everyone was professional but it appears they may need some more staff going forward as there seemed to be a shortage of therapists on my last visit.Thank you!
Working with Dr. Megan Ritz is literally transformative. She makes me work, but explains everything, is careful and helps me improve. I’m really beginning to feel my mobility returning. Thanks Megan!
Over my life, Ive had several reconstructions of my right leg and knee, and along with them, lots of experience with PT and rehab. The team at Fit Life is the best Ive ever experienced.Sam especially, is an amazing Physical therapist. She strikes the perfect balance between pushing you so that you can obtain the goals you want, and empathy and concern about how you feel to minimize the discomfort that always accompanies rehab.I would highly recommend them for anyone needing Physical Therapy.
My experience with FitLife Fitness has been rewarding. Samantha Birmingham, my physical therapist has gain my confidence in her ability to assess my situation and formulated the right regiment for me to recover and succeed. Samantha is knowledgeable and possesses the perfect personality to perform her job at a high level. I can definitely say that my recovery progress is due to Samanthas great work.
Neil Boyle, who was my physical therapist at fit life, is highly knowledgeable, attentive and professional. He helped me recover from a very bad ankle injury- it would’ve taken so much longer without the exercises and work he did with me. All of the therapists at fit life work together to create a supportive environment with the right equipment and space to give every patient what they need. Highly recommended!
I am delighted with the care, professionalism, knowledge, patience and good cheer in providing service at FitLife. I would recommend this facility to anyone requiring PT. I should add that the facility itself is spacious, clean and well outfitted with all of the needed recovery tools.Cheryl is a gem !!
Megan is excellent. Fitlife is a great place.
I’ve been in physical therapy several times over the years and I can say for certainty that Joe Renaldi is a top rate physical therapist. He explains the process thoroughly and sets an achievable plan
A smart, empathetic and hard-working staff at a modern facility, they keep hope alive of a better day for all striving to regain our best.
I’ve had a great experience at FitLife. I’ve been going for fibromyalgia pain and so far Physical Therapy is the only thing that has helped. My therapist Joe is very kind and professional and is always so positive and upbeat.
Professional, knowledgeable, friendly and supportive - these are the qualities of the FitLife Physical Therapy staff. Just what I needed to successfully recover from hip and knee replacement surgeries.
I truly love my physical therapist. He is supportive, patient and very helpful.
I came to FitLife Fitness with pain in both elbows and after working with Neil Boyle for a few weeks and following his instructions for at home therapy I am pain free! I highly recommend Neil for your Physical Therapist.
Knowledgeable, friendly, professional staff!Beautiful facility, immaculate…
I came to Fitlife in great pain, and Samantha has helped with alleviating much of my pain!
Excellent awesome tremendous!!
Great gym, clean and knowledgeable staff. I love the pool and hot tub. The classes are nice. Love the diversity of the people here. Reflects the amazing neighborhood. They also have a PT Area that has the most knowledgeable therapist and advanced techniques in PT. I highly recommend both.
Excellent PT Staff!! I have been coming to Fit Life since July for PT for a badly broken ankle that needed surgery. Though this is my first/only experience with PT I have been so impressed with the staff. Chelsea who does land therapy, and Madeline who does aqua therapy have been marvelous. I have made great progress and am almost back to being completely functioning, I cannot say enough about their patience, professionalism, and overall great care. Not to mention their sunny dispositions and genuine care for their patients.. no just me.Not that I would wish anyone a serious injury such as I had, but should you need PT, I cannot recommend these therapists enough.
The gym is fine. However, I had paid for 4 half hour sessions of personal training and was excited to begin my weight loss and strength journey. I had one session with a trainer after which we scheduled to meet again the next week. However, I had to request to reschedule the second meeting (gave her at least 3 days notice) and she said she would text me the times. It has now been over two weeks and I havent heard from her at all. So then I tried a second trainer. We played phone tag and the last message I left for her was that Id be available any time during her availability and all she has to do is let me know what day/time worked for her. This second trainer also did not call me back. I gave it one day more day then called her but was unable to leave a message this time because her VM was full. I talked to one of the front desk ladies and she told me to call yet another trainer who is supposed to be very responsive. So I did - but also had to leave message on his phone - this was last Friday evening. It is now Wednesday evening and I have not heard back from any of the three trainers that I contacted at FitLife. Yesterday I wrote to the gym about this experience and asked that they refund the personal training fees (minus the fee for the one session I had). I requested that the owner look into this problem and respond to the email. However, I still havent heard from the gym either. I am stuck with the annual membership so I will continue using the gym, but I have no confidence in the professionalism and integrity of (some of) the folks who work here. If you need personal training, look elsewhere. If you have any customer service issues, this is not a place where your questions will get answered - unless your question will result in them getting money - then the response time is pretty stellar.
Limited parking, old equipment, TOO pricey. The pool is too small and limited to 3-4 people.
Ive belonged as long as it has been open, and love it. Parking is really not a problem if you figure out what the busiest hours are, and then gauge that with when the nearby restaurants are busy. Ive never had to drive around the lot more than three or four times, and that has been rare.
Of the gyms I have belonged to, this is the best. Great staff and friendly people. Thank you Fit Life.
Excellent, knowledgeable staff that gives you the best therapy for all of your ailments.
My experience at Fitlife was troubling.I met with Manager Erin P. on a personal matter by her request.Manager, Erin P. didnt have the decency to return my messages.I felt that I wasnt worthy of a return call. Some of the reviews are good because Fitlife has good equipment? But, I question their sensitivity towards people of color! Some of the other reviews had the same concerns.
I joined this gym because it is 5 minutes from my home and offered babysitting services. After I joined whenever I called to schedule babysitting for my grand daughter they never had a spot for her. Whenever I was in the gym I didnt see any other children of color in the babysitting area. They dont seem to be very accommodated at this gym and that is why I cancelled my membership.
I had a terrible experience at Fitlife in Mt. Airy. I originally joined to have private training sessions. I found a trainer that I liked very much and worked with him every week for well over a year. Then one day he was gone. I got no warning or heads up from Fitlife and Ive called repeatedly to discuss refunding my membership and remaining sessions, and they have never called or emailed to even follow up and discuss. While there are some nice people who work here, the management doesnt seem to treat its employees or customers with respect, and I question their ethics overall. Caveat emptor
What I like:Attractive aestheticallyMany classes, good teachers, good weight and other equipmentCalming and thoughtfully designed natatoriumAs with the neighborhood, racially and age diverse members and staffWhat could use improvement:Occasional parking issues at peak timesTowel availability, and the hooks dump towels on the floorLocker room needs to be power washed and a little refurb, and need new yoga matsWould love jets that hit Upper TrapsWould love even more classes: Yuna Ball, Barre, Dance...Suggestion for childcare diversity concerns: Check w parent members and try coordinating work-outs (possibly fewer parent age members of color) and approach management/owner w concerns?
The pool and hot tub are great, and the reason why we chose to come here... Not something youll find at most gyms. The staff are very friendly.
Great local gym with a wide range of classes.
This place is excellent!
It is very friendly and professional place
Too pricey, limited parking and not very accommodating to people of color.
