Please try your best to avoid this HORRIBLE place. The following pictures show the initial conditions of my apartment when I moved in. Guess what happened after that? The maintenance team spent almost a whole week to get the disgusting toilet seat replaced and spent nearly THREE months to get those dangerous windows repaired. I live on the 1st floor, and I have no words to describe how afraid I was during that period. This apartment is NOT located in a safe district - Iโ€™ve lost four packages in the past couple of months. The delivery guy of USPS also faces problems regarding the access to the apartment. This has caused serious delays in package delivery for many residents. However, the management team doesnโ€™t care about that at all. Please be aware of these problems when you think of off-campus housing! I reported the conditions of the damaged mattress and sofa, as well as other problems, to the managers at the time I moved in, but they pretend to ignore those issues. I feel they didnโ€™t maintain the apartment at all after the former resident moved-out. This is immoral. I PAID MY RENT ON TIME EACH MONTH.***There is also a mouse in my apartment๐Ÿ˜€. This apartment might be a good choice for you if you enjoy living with small animals or different kinds of insects.3 days ago, I could no longer bear the condition of the sofa. So I requested maintenance and reported it again. Iโ€™m expecting to see how long it would take for the management team to respond to that. Have a guess? Maybe 6 months?

The apartments are value for money, located at a walking distance from Drexel University. Brianna from the management was helpful with the tours and helped us with signing the lease and moving in. Highly recommended.

My personal experience at The Legacy has been nothing less than amazing . Being my first spot I felt like the entire process was quick and easy . The area is pretty neat as well . Everything youโ€™ll need is pretty much in walking distance . The staff respond to problems in a timely manner and provide special attention .

AVOID AT ALL COST, seriously this is a really bad building managed by a slumlord owner. They keep raising the rent it is now $1400 yes $1400 for a crummy 1bedroom apartment. Electric bills are out of control they dont even show you how much electric you use its billed by taking an average of all the apartments in the building I asked PECO. Roaches, rats, and everything else are here too. Honestly if youre a student just live on campus this is not cheaper and not worth the headache. WHAT A MISTAKE.

Beautiful backyard/garden thanks to the neighbors not the management. Overpriced, maintenance doesnโ€™t fix anything, internet doesnโ€™t work too often, walls are paper thin, etc...

Donโ€™t be cheated by the name of the apartment. Itโ€™s called The Legacy at POWELTON VILLAGE, but itโ€™s actually located at MANTUA. If you do some researches about this district online, you would realize this is one of the most dangerous areas around university city. Itโ€™s NOT SAFE. The streets are SKETCHY.By searching Drexel or Penn Patrol Zone and University City Area Map, you will find this property is actually out of the patrol zones of both universities. I doubt the 5-star comments regarding its location are all from the management team. Theyโ€™re always good at marketing. If you plan to live here, itโ€™s helpful to download the app โ€œcitizenโ€ to protect yourself. In this way, youโ€™ll be able to detect people armed with knife and receive reports of shots fired, etc. Please be prepared that these incidents will all be around you once you choose to be a resident at this place.

I love the courtyard here, the atmosphere, and the sense of community with the residents. Great place to hang out in the evening hours with the summer heat. Nice bodega right around the corner. Bus stop out front. Easy access to the major highways.

Edit: The apartment itself is fine, everything works as it should and is new. Maintenance is fantastic. However, the management isnโ€™t great. When I was on spring break, they emailed to ask if they could show my apartment and I said no (start of COVID), they went through with it anyway under the guise of the lease contract. The contract states that youโ€™d have to have received notice of termination (Iโ€™m paraphrasing) which I hadnโ€™t submitted nor received. They claimed that the email sent in December saying lock in your current rate was that notification. That makes absolutely no sense. Besides that, it was absolutely reckless to show someone my private space during the beginning of a pandemic.Secondly, the electric bill is handled by a third party, so you donโ€™t get a breakdown of what you consumed. When you email them, you get weird units that make no sense for electricity, nor for your usage. I was gone for a full month in December, and had my thermostat set to 60 just so the pipes wouldnโ€™t freeze. I came back to a bill of ~$80. When I asked if the electricity bill was for my unit or did they just equally divide the amount between all units, I got no answer.Lastly, the way they handled breaking my lease early was completely unacceptable. My friend and neighbor easily got out of her lease and flew back home to LA. No questions asked from the management. When I emailed them and told them I had an international repatriation flight, they asked me to prove it was mandatory and asked for translated documents from the embassy. I donโ€™t have to prove anything to you during a pandemic. Itโ€™s already stressful enough to stay on top of feeding myself, attending class, packing up my apartment, and contacting the embassy for translated documents since no one wanted to spend money to translate the documents I sent & wouldnโ€™t accept the emails from the embassy I forwarded as enough to cancel my lease. On top of that, I had roach problems, a huge spider, and a couple of millipedes. How is that okay when you pay $1200 for a single apartment? The 5 star reviews are from the management.

The apartments are fine, but dealing with the management is hell. I moved out on August 15th and I have yet to receive ~1000$ from my security deposit. They do not pick up calls or answer emails. If youre moving out soon, I would recommend that you dont pay the last month of rent!

Clean, comfortable and spacious, love it! The furnitures in the apartment are all new, washer & dryer are included as well. Iโ€™ve had issues with my door lock and wifi but I appreciate that the maintenance team is always helpful whenever I needed them. The area is 100% safe as there are securities patrolling at all times.

The company behind this apartment complex, cross properties, has a history of not returning security deposits. Itโ€™s not just this case. Also check out reviews for Good Food Flats, another building under the same management, to see tenants with their deposits stolen.

Itโ€™s my first year here at Drexel and I came across The Legacy at Powelton Village by chance. Itโ€™s the best decision ever! The units come furnished with key card entry, individual locked rooms, and in unit washer/dryer. This area is great for any college student in the surrounding area because it is located on a bus route which includes the city, Drexel, and Penn. Any problems I came across while being here was quickly resolved by management. Lastly, there is lots of street patrol, so I feel very safe walking home at night. Overall a great space for a great price, I highly recommend.

Along the lines of the other reviewers, 95% of the issues we faced while living here were related to their management. They are the most careless, non-responsive, and disorganized management company Iโ€™ve had to deal with in years. Here are some examples of the headaches I had to deal with while living in this apartment:- I moved out 6 months ago and I have yet to receive my security deposit back. I have emailed and called them every week since moving out and they are either non-responsive or claim that I still owe them money (even though I have repeatedly shown them my proofs of payment of the ENTIRE lease).- The โ€œelectronicโ€ key to the apartments would stop working every so often which would either keep me locked out of the apartment, or prevent me from lockintg it when leaving it. This would be awfully inconvenient as I would find myself arriving home late at night and being unable to enter my apartment, or being unable to go to work because I was unable to lock my apartment. In both of these situationa, management didnโ€™t seem to care and took over 2 days to resolve this issue.- The payment of the electric bill was a complete mess. Some months they over charged us, some months they under charged us... to the point that when I moved out I had to pay an extra in electric because they messed up the electric billing.- They changed the payment method of rent around 2-3 times throughout the 12 months I lived there, making it increasingly hard to keep track of payments. As a result of this, I had to send them proofs of previous payments multiple times throughout the year to show that I had, indeed, paid for rent.- Overall, there is no reliable way or person to communicate with if you have any issues. The person you call is either no longer working there, not answering, or not the correct person to call. The number in their website does not work/does not redirect you ever to the person you require to talk to.... and again, I am still waiting for my $1000+ security deposit from them, 6 months after moving out.

My life at this place in one word: Miserable!I was supposed to move into my apartment on June 1. One week before that date, they told me that your place is not ready!! So they placed me in another apartment and they said it will be ready by June 6th. So I did not unpack my boxes. On June 5th, I called them to confirm the move details, when I found that itโ€™s not ready yet and itโ€™s gonna be June 10th! Nobody even had bothered to tell me about it!After moving in with a 10-day delay, it was only the beginning of troubles! They did not have mail boxes set up and all my mail have been returned for 2 months!! Including important documents like social security card, driverโ€™s license, bills,โ€ฆetc. Although I kept asking them, they carelessly told me that my mail will go to their office, which of course neve happened! So I had to go to difference places for my lost and returned documents multiple times. I wasted too much time, money, and energy and it was a big distress for me. I will never forgive these guys.We also have so many other annoying issues like:- Internet is the worst! It disconnects every 5 minutes and you have to refresh and refresh and refresh!!! Many tenants have this problem and nobody is fixing it.- Direct TV was on-off for 3 months!- We have mice! And it took a whole month for the exterminator to come and put couple of useless glue traps.- And many other issuesโ€ฆ..This complex has the WORST management ever. They just keep forgetting your issues and you have to remind them and beg them 100 times. I even set up a meeting with their top manager for these issues and she did not even show up or call!At some point I wanted to sue them for all the horrible troubles that they have caused me, but I really donโ€™t have time for the headache.Choosing this apartment was a mistake and I cannot wait to move out.

If I can give ZERO star, I would. This place has the worst management. There are problems with package mailing, bug (Cockroaches) problems, noise, smell, and A/C. The management is the most unresponsive and irresponsible group Ive ever seen. Do yourself a favor. DO NOT give this place a chance.
