I love Altered Images. I drive all the way from Katy since we moved there. Ive been going to this salon since they opened 35+ years ago. Since the pandemic, Ive cut back on going anywhere at all. However, today I went and felt very safe. All staff are masked, as are clients. Clients check temp upon arrival. There are screens between stations at wash bowls. And every three months, the entire salon is closed while a disinfectant company completely cleans and sanitizes, a process that ensures cleanliness for three months. The stylists are all tremendous and professional. Stepping out into the world again was made easier, and with my new do, I feel refreshed and oh-so-pleased with the services! Always the best salon anywhere. Pandemics dont stop them from being the greatest!

Emily does an amazing job on my lomg thick curly hair. She added beautiful extensions that look fantastic. My mother-in-law now goes to Emily too.

Had a root touch up, several spots missed. Additionally, color left on skin. Could have done a better job at home. Went for a spa experience, had a horrible experience. Had to fix things up at home. Waste of time and money. Went to pamper myself for a special occasion, turned out to be huge dent in my day.

You can immediately tell that the employees are happy and work together as a team. Each stylist is friendly and listens to the details of what you would like. I had Brit who gave me a great cut and she was pleasant to spend time with.Worth the drive if you live in the city like me. They make you feel special and are attentive to comfort and needs such as beverage requests.

Had a therapeutic massage with Cara yesterday. I am a hairstylist here and have lower back pain and muscle tightness. My pain level was severe. Cara addressed my pain and applied her techniques to relax the muscles to give me relief. Today I feel great! Drank lots of water and got a good night sleep. My Spa Rocks!

Got my hair done here and loved it! My stylist was so sweet and really listed to what I wanted. It was also decently priced, unlike visable changes and bigger salons. The atmosphere was really nice as well. 5 stars for her, definitely! I went back a month later and got my face waxed, that I wasnt as impressed with. I felt like there were places she missed and it was overpriced for the job that was provided.

The hair stylists here have been fairly good when Ive gone. However, if you are considering getting a massage, I caution you. The new massage therapist is a young male, and Im not saying that is an inherently bad thing. In fact, when my father got a massage, he said that the massage therapist was professional and very good. HOWEVER, I, a 20 year old college girl, did not have the same experience. I figured that since he was young and I was as well, he would be very conservative and careful with where he touched me. And yes, there are technically muscles on your bikini line and on your upper chest, but he definitely got a little too close in those certain areas. For the most part, he did a wonderful job, but for any female ages 15-30 wanting a massage, I would suggest going to get a massage elsewhere.

After reading some reviews of this salon, I was hesitant to try it. However, I got a great cut and color by Gretchen! She listened to the issues I was having with my hair, looked at pictures of what I had in mind and gave me a cut that is super-flattering and works well with my texture and layers that are growing out. She also did a beautiful job on the balayage coloring. However, the pricing on this was pretty misleading. It cost over $100 just for the color! I should have asked about pricing when I booked but I looked at the coloring prices online and didnt see anything that started higher than $59. Despite this, I would definitely recommend Gretchen for cuts and colors. Just make sure you know what your services are going to cost upfront.

My first time going to Altered Images and I would never recommend this place to anyone! The worst experience in hair coloring I have ever had. I have short hair, normally it only takes about 1 1/2 hours to get highlights with low lights. She colored it all wrong. It took her 5 hours and 15 minutes. I was so upset with the horrible color it came out. I would have expected so much more from this place. as much as they charge. I shouldnt have paid for anything after being in a chair for 5 hours and having the worse color I have had in my life... two weeks before Christmas at that. Never go to Jenna for color! Thank God I didn’t let her cut it!!!

Without question the nicest salon i have been to in a long time. Clean CLEAN and Clean again. Smells great, nice receptionist. Massage is top notch. If you are getting your nails done ask for Kim. She is the best just tell her what you want. Dont feel bad to ask for what you want. If you are getting a hair cut ask Tabatha. She really takes her time to make it just the way you like. Oh and dont forget to get a glass if wine or beer. Remember these ladies work hard so take care of them. Appointments are a very good idea as they stay busy because of how good they are.

My daughter has been crying since she got home. She felt the stylists were rude and very harsh when talking about her hair. This place is not cheap. You would expect a more professional attitude. We will not be returning.

I went there to get my hair cut and straightened and was very displeased. When calling to set my appointment, I asked about price and was told it would be about $45. I thought that was reasonable so I booked the appointment. My hair is about 2 inches long and the hair dresser took a little over 2 hours to straighten my hair? Then they charged me $92! For this short hair? Never have I had any salon do this to me. I felt taken advantage of. It seemed that the stylist wasnt experienced because Ive had my hair done many times and Im usually in and out because my hair is super short. Unfortunately, to make it worse, it looked so bad that I went straight home to fix this hairstyle she gave me. ( I took before and after photos of my hair). So basically I just paid $92 so that I can waste over 2 hours to sit in the chair, over an hour of drive time, and then go home and do it correctly myself. It seemed that she was trying, but she just didnt seem like she new what she was doing when trying to straighten and style my hair. They never should have assigned her to straighten and style hair, or maybe offer her more training. Needless to say, I wish I at least felt like I got what I paid for and I dont feel comfortable going back there.

During the pandemic, they are taking every precaution to ensure the safety of their guest and themselves.

I had been going to Altered Images for quite some time and was pretty satisfied with my experience getting haircuts. I decided to get some highlights and discussed it thoroughly with my stylist prior to setting an appointment. I made it very clear that I did not want yellow or blonde but more toward a silver color. I also made it very clear that I wanted it to be a dramatic change and not subtle. First of all, my stylist was 20 minutes late in coming out to get me for my appointment, and I was never told she was running behind. When I sat down in the chair, my stylist informed me that I had not been put down for a blow dry. Who gets highlights and then doesnt get a blow dry to see what they look like? I told her that was a mistake and she then informed me that she had an appointment at 5 pm, which was less than an hour and a half from that time and that someone else could possibly blow dry my hair. I told her I could make another appointment and that I would rather not be rushed. She said she wouldnt rush me. She left the lightener on for about the average time and then removed it. She never tried to bring my hair up to a lighter color nor did she try to use heat to bring it up to a lighter shade. It is barely detectable that I had highlights. It looks like my hair has been lightened a shade or so and definitely not light, and my hair is very dark, Then she rushed through blowing my hair dry, maybe 10 minutes. To my surprise I was charged an extra $26 just to have my hair blown dry. The total for the highlighting was already outrageous with the price of the toner she put on my hair, which I was informed will fade. That means the highlighted hair will be even more yellow when the toner does fade. My total highlighting for my chin length hair with a neckline in the back, was $122.00. I will not be going back to this salon, and I would recommend that anyone that wants to have any coloring or highlighting done to make sure you ask and are very specific about what they are going to charge for. I was told prior to having this done that it would cost me $65 to have the highlights.I wasnt told that it was an upcharge to have your hair dried before you leave, nor was I told that there would be a charge for the toner. I do get the toner charge, although it was excessive, but why in the world would you leave with wet hair and not even get to see what your color looks like? Beware of this salon and hold tight to your wallet.

I got a massage there recently. The massage was OK but the employees seemed on edge and unhappy to be working there. I heard the owner berating one of them and chalked it up to that, right or wrong. Personally I will not spend my money enriching someone that treats their employees badly. And if it wasnt obvious I wouldnt comment on it.

I called to ask how much my 2 boys hair cuts would be and was told $33 per hair cut on the phone. When I checked out, the total cost per haircut was $39. They also told me my 10 yr old is considered an adult and would be charged at an adult price. After 20% tip I walked out paying $93 for 2 boys haircuts.
