All I can say is, WOW! I absolutely love this place and the people that work there. We belonged to another vet and their wellness program for about 8 months now. Our dog started to randomly have stomach issues, messy stool, and back and forth cycles for two months! I got tired of getting no where, and dealing with the current place we went to. I decided to go to lake shore, and immediately we both felt more at ease- knowing they actually know what they are talking about to get to the bottom of this stomach/intestine issue. The staff and doctor were all amazing, and we appreciate it very much. Highly recommend! They are very kind, patient, and knowledgeable!
Consistent quality service for both my cats and dogs. The plan they offer saves you a big headache, and they were kind enough to remind me my card hadnt processed my plan charge before running the bill that day! Located in the shopping area with basically everything else you need to survive. COVID restrictions were as crazy, so I could help carry the animals inside.
LSPH is a blessing for us! Our first pup Stella was cared for by Drs. Ashley and Stiehl and, despite her terminal condition, they treated us like grieving parents and Stella like the most important patient in the world. When Stella crossed the Rainbow Bridge, Dr. Ashley and his staff made it a positive memory. Fast forward to August 2020 when we adopted Willow, our frisky miniature dapple dachshund, theyve helped us find the right training for her stubbornness; supporting our decision for an ovary-sparing spay; all while caring for her in the only way they know how -- like family. We always recommend LSPH when people ask because we know they do it right every time, and theyre your family whether your pet is newborn or ready to walk the Rainbow Bridge.
I can’t say enough great things about this veterinary office! I have had multiple issues with my high maintenance pup here, and they have always exceeded my expectations. Both of my dogs have received excellent care. The staff and veterinarians are all so friendly and knowledgeable. They are so reasonably priced as well.
I called to ask if the vets at Lake Shore were able to do some very detailed medical tests. They told me up-front what they could do and could not do at their facility (greatly appreciate that!). I asked the prices for the work they were able to do and they were incredibly reasonable and well within line of what I expected. They were also very willing to work with the other vet (out of state) to help me achieve my goal. I look forward to a great patient/client/vet relationship. Thank you!
I have become extremely disappointed in this place. I have been a customer here for years now for my two cats and one dog. I believe their customer service has gone downhill and it has become very difficult to get an appointment. My dog was extremely sick and they told me they could not see her for a week or so, which was entirely too long. They did eventually call me back to let me know that they could fit her in, but I should not have had to go through that for an appointment for my dog that needed immediate attention. I trusted this place to care for her before taking her to a pet hospital. But, I believe they misdiagnosed my dog with pancreatitis. After bringing her home from this place, she didnt get any better so we took her to a pet hospital, which diagnosed her with red cell lymphoma. Unfortunately, we had to get her put down because she was suffering.Even after her passing, this place told me that they could not end my Wellness Plan for my dog because its a year long contract, even though my dog is DEAD! How can they continue to charge me for services that I will not use because its impossible to do so? It just seems unethical to me.I understand they are super busy and they are human too, but I am not content with the customer service given while my dog was dying. I agreed to every single test they asked us to do and paid upfront for everything. In return, I believe I got a misdiagnosis, not the best customer service, and still paying for a Wellness Plan after my dog is dead. I believe I am going to go somewhere else for pet services from now on.
Several years ago, we engaged the services of Lake Shore Pet Hospital when it became necessary to have our dog put down. Since we were only in the area on the weekends, we didnt have a continuing relationship with a local vet. The staff could not have been more compassionate or caring--particularly to a family they did not have a history with. So a few months ago, we adopted an older dog only to discover that he has health issues, including cancer. Dr. Ashley provided a recommendation to a specialist and he has been available to support us and consult throughout this difficult and trying process. I appreciate his professionalism and responsiveness, and his staff could not be more helpful or nicer! They are wonderful and seem to care about our dog almost as much as we do! Service and professionalism matter to the folks at Lake Shore Pet Hospital, and they work hard to course correct if there is a miscommunication or concern I have as a pet owner. I appreciate their care of us and of our dog.
As our dog Zeke has aged the doctors have always adapted his health management to give him the best quality of life! Zeke loves the staff and runs in to kiss and greet everyone he sees. I love the conservative management and wellness plan that helps me to make sure that Zeke has the best health care possible!
Lakeshore pet hospital is definitely a top notch vet. I always feel like my dogs get the attention, love and the best care from the whole staff. The vet techs are really welcoming and warm. My dogs are excited to see them. All the doctors are very knowledgeable and professional but my favorite is Dr. Anderson. All my questions are always addressed and I leave there knowing more about my pets than I did before. And their pet wellness plans are amazing. For the puppy plans as low as $40 a month mostly everything such as visits and vaccines are included. The things that are not included are greatly discounted with having the pet wellness plan. I highly recommend Lakeshore pet hospital for any and all pet parents!
This place is beyond amazing. Professional. Super friendly. The staff go far above and beyond to help you. The doctors are incredible. You can tell right away that they care. Everyone there treats your furry family like it were their own. I really cant say enough good things about them. Thank you Lake Shore Pet Hospital, for taking care of our Buddy.
Highly recommend! The front desk was very welcoming! My dog Daisy and I were able to get an exam room in a timely fashion. Dr. Ashley and his assistant Kaitlyn were wonderful and gentle with Daisy. She typically is a little skiddish and can be nippy at times and they both handled her very well. Daisy had gotten a full exam, blood work and vaccines. I have looked at other places and Lakeshore is by far the cheapest that Ive talked to. Definitely going to continue going to them and will also be bringing my puppy once shes ready for her first exam.
Ive been taking my sweet dog here for years. Over the last few years Ive seen a decrease in customer service with a lack in good communication at the front desk, receiving my test results back and not providing the services I requested. When addressing any issues that do pop up, I dont feel like there is a sincere apology, they dont take responsibility for their mistakes and they simply dismiss it as human error time and time again. I could go on into more details with examples but that would take a while. Overall Im not a happy client.
I trust Dr Ashley and his staff. They have great knowledge and are very helpful. Dr Ashley offer what’s in the best interest of the pet and explains in detail why.
So happy with the service Lake Shore Per Hospital provides. They are always responsive and treat my pets like family. I love them!
I have been taking my dog there for the past 2 years and recently I have found the quality of care and the care about the pet owner steadily decreasing. Here is how todays events unfolded. Answered the 2 questionnaires that they sent me as requested. Got there and had to go through the whole process again with the pet nurse. I asked the where the paperwork was that I submitted. The answer was Oh they have to print it for me. So why did I submit it. Next off goes my dog with her. She calls and says your bill is X dollars. So I asked for what. She tells me and I say okay. Then I go and get my dog back only to be told sorry your bill is $100 more than I originally told you. Then I get home and call to ask if they can email me my receipt. I was told We called you about your wellness plan my reply no you didnt however if you look at my notes I asked about it and was told it was fine. Last straw.. I look at my receipt and see my dog is due for his heart worm shot in 9 days. Do I make another trip or find a new vet. Very frustrating. This place used to be top notch.By the way. I never did get a call from the Dr with regards to anything regarding my dog. This place is headed down hill.
Lake Shore gave my pup a same day appointment without hesitation, which I am so grateful for as I had called no less than 20 others vets in the area who said they couldn’t get him in. The vet tech and front office staff were super nice and accommodating. Not used to vet staff being so friendly! Thank you all 😊
They called right away to make sure our dog was ok when they got a call that xerxes was sent to the ER. I am truly grateful. They truly care about the well being of all animals
They were recommended to us by the Mid-Atlantic German Shepherd Rescue for the snip!. They did a great job with no issues or concerns
Upon looking for options for artificial insemination of my bull dogs we stumbled across lakeshore pet hospital. based on the reviews we thought we made a great choice to our disbelief we encountered huge red flags from lakeshore hospital. Our first visit was to find out if our bulldog was ovulating and we never received results of that outcome. Mind you this procedure was about 300 dollars and all we received were inconclusive results that did not allow us to proceed with the insemination so they recommended for us to come again for another test which was another 200 dollars and again we received no calls. 500 dollars later they told us they had emailed us and where calling the wrong number that was never even provided so after 500 dollars we were told to try again 6 months later. this is ridiculous and a complete waste of money and time. The level of service and communication is not acceptable and we will never go back.
I had my first visit with them today and Im impressed! They took their time with both of my animals. They took their time with me because I am a anxious mess (lol). Im looking forward to working with them on getting both of my boys back on track! Thank you guys again!
Im a little disappointed after todays hullabaloo. My 3 month old puppy obviously had a UTI so I called. They kind of blew me off, said there were no openings today, and chalked it up to house training issues which was unusual for our puppy. Side note, the title is a misnomer. This place is appointment only. Not much of a hospital. My fiancè, frustrated, spoke to them and then called me (from NY) and told me to bring in a urine sample. Now for the shocker...she had a UTI just like I said. They suddenly had time to see her. Had to drive back again. Another side note, we have the puppy plus wellness plan. Supposed to make pet healthcare affordable. Didnt do a damn thing for the urine sample, or the antibiotics, which was all they did. Seems rather useless to me.
Ive been going to Lake shore for the past 2 years, since I moved to pasadena. It is a great small animal hospital. All the doctors are very nice and compassionate. The staff is wonderful and always greets you with a lovely smile. They have helped me in emergencies with my dogs and always upfront with the cost. Great people to go to.
Horrible experience- they don’t care about your animals!!! I have been paying for a service that I didn’t need to rely on until the past couple months. When I contacted them for an emergency for one of my dogs they could not fit me in and I was told to continue calling each day for an emergency appointment- which I did for 2 days straight and they STILL couldn’t fit me in. The receptionists are very rude and not helpful- it’s not their problem that your animal is sick!!!
This place is hands down the best place to take your pet, best staff and service around. I will recommend them to everyone I know. They care about the animals, not getting rich. Im super impressed by my experience and will never go anywhere else.
Nothing but good things to say. Moved away from the area and we still drive an hour to see the doctors here. They go above and beyond any expectations we have.
We take both of our pups here, one of them being a pitbull! They love her so much and remember us when we visit. I really enjoy going here with my pets. Friendly and affordable.
Very nice people who work there.prices are expensive.
Ive been taking Peanut & Butter there for years. Love Love the friendly service from Staff and will continue bringing my pups to them! AAAAA++++++
Truly a great vet! Their puppy wellness plan cuts down the cost of the first year vet expenses or having a puppy. The staff are very kind and helping. They even give you a call after your visit to make sure your pet is doing fine.
We absolutely love the staff at Lakeshore Pet Hospital especially the veterinarians! They all take their time to explain things to you and really explain all of your options. Our cat had to have an emergency surgery for a blockage and Dr. Anderson was amazing to work with. They kept me updated throughout the procedure and I felt like my baby was in the best hands. They were the only vet in the area who could help solve my dogs itchy paw problem with a simple injection, where other vets just wanted to keep giving allergy meds. They use the most modern medicine and I feel comfortable sending my pets there!
Cant say enough kind things about the staff here. We have worked with all of the doctors and theyre all amazing. My one dog used to get very scared going to our old vet. I found this place and decided to give it a try. He shows very little anxiety when we are there, its just incredible how his attitude changed. Theyre all great with him and its way easier for us knowing hes going to have a good experience. We recently had to put our other dog down, and it was a heartbreaking thing to do. Everyone was very supportive and kind to us that day. Its not an experience you want to say was a good one, but they really were there for us and I cant thank them enough for being the kind big-hearted people that they are. It really shows. If it wasnt clear before that day, it certainly is clear now. I cant imagine having a better team of people helping us looking after our pets. Thank you all for all that you do :)
Thank you to the entire team for taking great care of my pup! Most affordable emergency care in the area and wonderful customer service!
Wow, what can I say. The team at Lake Shore were life savers. We had issues with our 10 yea old cat Lucy and we ran out of options. We couldnt be happier with the solution they offered. Everyone I told was really impressed with the story. It was a true blessing. LSPH will be our go to vet for now on. Thank you Dr. Stiehl, Go Birds!
Absolutely love the staff! Dr. Stiehl is amazing with my dog Teddy. Everyone is super nice and helpful.
Dr. Anderson was incredibly professional and understanding with me and my partners hamster. We needed an urgent visit, and they were very kind to work us in despite having a busy day. Definitely worth the 5 stars. Thank you Lake Shore and Dr. Anderson so much
Very clean, friendly and professional. The doctors take time and examine my babies. I never feel rushed. They play with my babies before examining them to make them feel more comfortable.
They were absolutely amazing when needed most. Incredibly respectful, caring and professional. We have found our new furever family vet.
Very professional and caring doctors. They take great care of my dog. (Penn)Staff are kind and helpful, very easy to switch over to and make an appointment. ❤️
I just wanted to thank you all for being such an amazing Vet Office. Every time I have been there you have all been so kind, personable, and I can tell you all really care about our animals and their humans. As someone who has transported dogs to several offices through AA County, my experience with your office has definitely been the most comfortable, informative, and caring. It’s not just one specific person there, you just feel welcomed and cared for as soon as you walk in by the front desk staff, the techs, and the Veterinarians.Thank you for all that you do for all of the Furrbabies in your care. They are lucky to have you, and I am thankful to have found you.
We have been coming here for over a year. We adopted our dog and brought him in to Lake Shore Pet Hospital for his initial evaluation, vaccinations, and started a wellness plan. We have seen all the vets and techs here, and they are all so caring and always explain all treatments so you understand and feel confident in your dogs wellness plan. I am so glad we found them, and also that we started the wellness plan. Even if you just use it for vaccines, it pays for itself, but in the unfortunate event that you need more visits, it saves you money every time you walk in the door. I should add that making appointments are very easy. I never have to wait, and I know they will take you immediately if needed, like today when our dog ate shoelaces. I called them up and they explained the medical concerns with letting him pass it, gave me advice and options, and so I asked if I could come in now, and they were able to take him as soon as I brought him in to induce vomiting. He threw the laces up, and the vet told me what to look out for in the next day in case we missed anything. So thankful that I had a place to go with confidence.
Made an appointment through the website and was contacted within the hour to confirm. I was able to get in on short notice to get a second opinion on my cat. Staff was friendly and professional. I was taken back minutes after showing up. Dr. Ashley explained everything, did a great job making sure I understood what he thought was going on, and the proceedures they were going to do to confirm or rule out issues. Highly recommend
These guys go above and beyond to take care of pets and also the owners :) Transferring my dogs over here from our previous vet was the best decision. They have wonderful and affordable wellness plans and Dr. Ashley and his staff are amazing. Highly recommended.
I have two new kittens and signed up both of them up with their basic wellness plan. Its a great deal, especially if youre trying to be a responsible pet owner. Staff is awesome from the techs to the vets. Theyre great with my cats, they answer all your questions/concerns, get you in and out smoothly as they can, and its conveniently located with convenient hours. After each appointment they call the next day to make sure the cats are ok. Thank you!
It was my puppy’s first visit the staff and vet here was so nice and caring
The team at Lake Shore Pet Hospital is compassionate and caring and my dog loves them for it. Dr. Ashley is a skilled and knowledgeable vet and takes time to not only get to know me and my pet, but also educates me as hes providing treatment. The little touches that Lake Shore provides (the soothing environment, comfortable exam rooms and online pharmacy) make this practice stand out. The personal service they provide make my dog comfortable at the vets office--something I never imagined was possible. Theyre even open on Sundays, which is very helpful. As a longtime client (10+ years) I highly recommend Dr. Ashley and his practice.
I recently transitioned my dog and cat to Lake Shore Animal Hospital from another local vet hospital. I am very pleased with the care Dr. Ashley and his staff have provided. The wait time is very short, the hours are extremely convenient and the wellness plan is an outstanding value. I am very glad I made the switch and wish I had made it sooner!
Best service I have received from a vet staff! My puppy came out happy!!
Amazing staff and doctors. We love their wellness plans. Highly recommend them.
I have had animals my entire life and this is by far, the best vets office I have ever used. Dr. Ashley always makes himself available for last minute appointments and never leaves you waiting in the exam room forever. His staff is always friendly! The wellness plans are also amazing. It not only saves me money on Sams expenses but it also helps keep me on track to make sure I get him all of his preventative care, teeth cleanings, etc.
Dr Ashley, Excellent doctor. The best Ive ever met in my 20 years of having dogs.
We had a wonderful experience here today and will ABSOLUTELY be returning in the future AND recommending to all of our friends and family. From the friendly, welcoming front desk staff to the attentive, caring and knowledgeable medical staff...we had the best experience and I felt confident that my sweet Labrador was being given the best care possible. They offer wellness plans that make veterinary care affordable and easy. LOVE THIS PLACE. CANT SAY IT ENOUGH!!! :)
This practice clearly goes the extra mile to take the best care possible of their patients. I brought one of my cats in for a minor maintenance procedure in between annual exams at my regular vet and I was very impressed. They paid attention to small details to reduce anxiety in their feline patients. My cats usually go to a cat only practice, but he seemed completely at ease during his visit. The doctor was friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable. I will continue to bring my cats here as needed and will consider transferring all of them for their future care.
I will start with the positive. My dog received quality services by a caring staff. My issue is with the management of the practice. I recently had to make some financial decisions for my dogs healthcare due to a change in Lake Shores financial policy. I usually use Care Credit to pay for the wellness plan and any other services, to make it more affordable with promotional financing. Recently they have stopped accepting care credit for the wellness plan due to what it costs the practice between the fees they pay to the wellness plan administrators and to Care Credit (not sure why they couldnt have their own wellness plan) . My dog needs to be neutered, my puppy plan had expired before I was able to get it done. I was informed that if it wasnt done in the time frame then it was lost and there is nothing they could do. Accepting personal responsibility I understood that, even though I do feel they should have worked something out with me just to provide good customer care and service. I discussed at some length with the staff how much I would have to pay for the neuter out of pocket so that I could see if it would make sense to pay for this service and then decide how I would pay for the wellness plan(since they no longer let you pay with Care Credit) I specifically asked how much it would cost. I was told $200-300, and that I would have to pay for pain medication and the collar separately. It was obvious that I was trying to be sure of the cost to evaluate the options. I decided to schedule and pay out of pocket and wait till my pet was due for the next vaccinations to reassess the wellness plan. I was called a day before the appointment and given a cost that was twice the amount I was told by multiple people in the office. I explained the situation and my frustration with the whole process. Accountability was lacking on the end of the staff, knowing I was upset they never tried to reach out and make it right. I ended up cancelling the appointment.
I am very unhappy with this veterinary clinic! I have been going to this vet for the past few years, I even paid for the plan every single month and have recommended them to several people in the past including the dauntless dogs training camp, but sadly to say no more can I rant and rave about the awesome experiences i had with them. They told an adoption clinic that I was late for my girls shots so they denied me a puppy but failed to mention I had already scheduled with them to get my girls up to date and was only a few weeks late. (I have to drive almost an hour to get to this clinic and I was more than willing to do so before now.) then I get to the clinic and the veterinarian says it’s no big deal to be a couple weeks late..... so if it’s no big deal then why did they make it a big deal to the adoption center?!? Then after the appointment a couple days later they tell me my dog is due for everything I call and ask why they wouldn’t tell me this just 3 days ago when I was there with the exact dog that was due and the receptionist says because of who you talked to ( the vet tech at the appointment) that’s why they didn’t tell you. What does that even mean? She says must’ve been a mistake... She didn’t offer to give me the $50 I just spent in the office visit just 3 days prior. The whole reason I brought my girls was to get up to date!!! Then after all of this my oldest dog needed veterinary care, my mother has been taking care of her, my mom goes to take her to a veterinarian closer to her house, the vet calls lakeshore to get all of her info before they decide to do surgery and lakeshore tells them that they have deleted her profile and can no longer provide any information on her which in my opinion only hurts the dog that has to go through all of the shots again. She is a 16 year old Pomeranian tell me if I don’t take care of my dogs then how could she last so long even after having parvo as a puppy! I can honestly say I love the veterinarians at this location but I can’t say the same for any of the vet techs or receptionists.
Dr. Ashley and his staff have created a warm, inviting experience for me and my two dogs. Dr. Ashley works hard to keep things affordable, and takes the time to be sure you understand each step of care. Attention to detail and loving care are what keep our family coming back. Romeo and Lilly love going to see everyone there!
Receptionists are always caring and kind on the phone, not to mention helpful! Love Dr. Stiehl and so do my pets. Dr. Stiehl is very thorough yet conscious of costs which is much appreciated.
My pets all love Dr Ashley and his staff at Lake Shore Pet Hospital! Dr Ashley takes time to answer my questions and advise me with preventative measures to avoid serious health issues as they age. Each visit, I learn how to provide my pets with the best possible care, and am grateful for the 14 years Ive shared with my dog (Daisy) and 10 years with my two kitties (Clancy & Cleo) as a direct result of that care.
Great place to take your pet! Highly recommend.
It would be hard to find another Veterinarian practice as good as Lake Shore Pet Hospital.Dr Ashley has always taken whatever time was needed to treat my dogs thoroughly, and he also has a talent for explaining the what, why, and how much any treatment may cost-in a way any laymen can understand. With four German Shepherds, one who was in kidney failure, I have spent a fair amount of time at Lake Shore Pet Hospital. I have always been treated with kindness & respect by everyone there. Most of all, I trust Dr. Ashley. Never have I felt that I was overcharged, or that unnecessary treatment was added to increase the price-unlike other Vets that I have used. My dogs are my family, & I am very happy taking them to such a great practice. Gary Simmont
Dr. Ashley and his team of caring professionals have been wonderful to our dog and our family. The new clinic is so well thought out and comfortable. Thank you for taking such good care of our Sally dog.
Thank you so much for helping me 10 great years with my beautiful golden retriever I am so sad lost and confused Rip Harley see you in next life will never forget about you I love you so much god be with you #1 PET HOSPITAL IN MARYLAND LAKE SHORE GREAT STAFF AND THE BEST DOCTORS IN MARYLAND RIP HARLEY THANK YOU FOR THE GREAT LOVE YOU GAVE US YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN
Doctor Ashley and his staff went above and beyond with helping provide care for our familys cat. He has very realistic suggestions and tips and helps keep costs to a minimum. Doc even followed up the reason for the services with a call two days later just to check in to see how Bella was responding to the treatment. We recommend Lake Shore and Doc Ashley to anyone with pets. Thank you again, Doc!
I am very humbled by the amazing amount of support and enthusiasm we have received from the people of Pasadena. To have the opportunity to open my own practice and to serve the pets and their families in the community I live in is a dream come true. I am extremely proud of my new hospital team as we have gotten to know each other and have worked together to try to provide the best possible care to our patients and service to our clients right from the start. We look forward to meeting you and your pets soon!
All of the staff were very nice and knowledgeable. Its a very clean environment. Efficient service.
We absolutely love Lake Shore Per Hospital. When our lab was 6 minths old he had a few white bumps on his tongue and PetSmart told us it could be cancer and to get a biopsy. We chose to leave because that sounded ridiculous (and it was, he was fine). We tried another practice in the area but didn’t love our experience so we were on the lookout again. Lake Shore was an amazing find. Somehow they’re always able to get us in timely manner but still provide a personal experience. The facility itself is beautiful and clean and we have received excellent care here. Our dog loves both the doctors and they show him a ton of affection during the appointments. They also explain everything in layman terms to tell you exactly what they’re doing, without being condescending. We have had many wonderful experiences here and highly recommend them to anyone in the area looking for a quality vet.
Our two shihtzus, just now a year old, have been seeing Dr. Ashley at Lake Shore Pet Hospital. We use care plans for both pups - it is a great value! The entire staff is a pleasure to interact with and truly seem to care about the well being of your pets.
Today was my first visit at LSPH and I’m so glad I decided to follow through with the referral I was given. I brought King, my new 7 week old puppy there for his first check up and vaccinations. Everyone was so accommodating from the moment I walked in! I liked that their vet room had a couch in it, because it feel more like a home than a scary vet office. Small details like that make such a big difference. The receptionists were all welcoming, Katie the vet tech was quick and super nice and the veterinarian I saw, Cheryl Stiehl was really down to earth and very knowledgeable. I have definitely found my new vet and I’ll be switching my other dog Luna from Banfield to Lake Shore! Thank you guys for a wonderful visit!
They are great. They have a wonderful staff and an affordable, worthwhile, wellness plan. There are vets that want to save animals, and vets who want to make money. This office is clearly in it to save and care for animals.
Took my dog there on a Sunday without an appointment. The Vet on duty cut his lunch short so we wouldnt be waiting. Thanks again! GoGo and pups are doing great!
I switched to this office after seeing how great they were with taking care of my brothers dog in an emergency. Such a wonderful staff who show that they truly care for your pet, as opposed to just your payment.
Dr. Ashley and the entire staff are simply the BEST. Thanks for taking care of Bubba!
Think this is one of the worst places to take your pet. If you have a emergency they always say they dont have any appointments maybe in a few days even with their pet plan. My mother tried using them and had nothing but issues getting a appointment or a emergency visit. While she was in there they turned a emergency away and told them to go across the street or go to Annopolis. She also heard them on the phone deny a emergency. She cancelled her plan and found a new office. The only upside to the place it was open on Saturdays but u feel they are all about the Money!!! After her issues I took my new puppy across the street to Calvert Vet and that place is awesome with the animals and my pet insurance worked out great there.
Veterinarians are great, receptionists always have an attitude on the phone.
They care about your fur babies and I never have trouble getting an appointment! Their hours are great for working people!
Good caring vets! Easy to work with and very understanding.
We met Dr. Ashley ~13 years ago when he saved Marley with a complicated diagnosis and extraordinary management of his and Rileys health. Marley exceeded everyones expectations and stayed with us for nearly 15 years and Riley for 16. Now Joey & Zoey visit Dr. A. whenever we can, we truly enjoy our visits... This is the 3rd time we have followed him to a new practice. I couldnt imagine taking our pets to any other DVM!
On 12/21/2018 I noticed a bloody bulb hanging from my Pomeranian during her bath around noon. I contacted Lake Shore (her vet) to see if she could be seen and she could not be seen until 6:30 pm. Which was okay with us, however during her visit both vets on duty misdiagnosed her problem and charged $50.00 for this diagnosis by Lake Shore. Then I was told by both vets on duty that her bladder was protruding from her vagina and would probably need emergency surgery. I was advised to get her to the AAVEC for confirmation ASAP. So I did. Once at AAVEC we were seen immediately by the vet on duty. To my surprise (and $180.00 more) she was diagnosed with a vaginal polyp and this was not an emergency.I am so disappointed with Lake Shore, especially since I researched and read all of the wonderful reviews when I chose this facility....sadly she will not be returning to Lake Shore. Please be aware when you chose your vet that sometimes they are not always what you read or what your expectations are for your loved one.Terry Dowell (Shasha)
Lake Shore Animal hospital is a great place and Im happy to have Dr.Ashley and his staff there. The waiting rooms are always clean and smell great. They have a small water bowl for any pup who may need to wet their whistle. :) The reception staff greets you quickly and there is a dry erase board that welcomes that days appointments with the pets name. Cute touch. The exam rooms are beautiful and comfortable. The aesthetic, which includes cool tones within the flooring and the decor, makes your visit relaxing. The cat room has toys so the cats can free roam and explore (which mine love!!) On each of my visits, the rooms have been hair-free and odor-free. You can tell they make great efforts to clean and maintain the room. The wait times are short. Despite it being a smaller practice, they are able to accommodate appointments and emergencies with no problem. It is a courtesy that is not extended at every clinic. They are open 7 days a week, so having flexible hours is very appreciated. The staff is kind, caring, and very intelligent. They explain everything as the appointment goes along and the doctors are very good about going over bloodwork results and really making sure you know what the values are, what possible concerns there may be, and how we can go forward to fix them. They are so loving with our furbabies. My favorite part of Lake Shore Animal Hospital? They have Pet Wellness Plans!!!! Over the last 3 weeks alone, with having 3 separate appointments for 3 pets (2 medical issues, and 1 routine vaccines), I have literally saved over $1000 by having the wellness plan. I have 2 dogs and 4 cats so anyway to save some $$$ is a dream come true! Thanks from the Buss family!
