Well... made a reservation with the company months ago, got to the Palm Springs airport expecting a car but apparently they over booked all their cars. Wasn’t the first passenger to land and be denied a car. 10 people were told to uber home and come back the next day to retrieve their car. Fast forward 48hours and multiple calls with the company to see if a car was actually available. No cars. Had to walk 5 miles to the airport and then wait another 2 hours to get a car I reserved 2 days ago. Absolutely unacceptable a ALAMO over Booked and will keep over booking their cars and you will be left waiting for it. Terrible terrible company. GO WITH BUDGET!! They promise your car upon your reservation!!!So they responded to this post after 8hours and yet I’m still waiting for a call back from my 3 calls with customer service. I have a case number and multiple “notes “ on my account explaining my situation.... still can’t have anyone to help me or call me back. Great company. The people working there are nice, but absolutely NOT HELPFUL IN GETTING ANY SORT OF RESOLUTION!!!!

I recently rented a vehicle from Alamo at the Palm Springs location.There was a minor mistake made by a staff member accepting the rental returns but*Ernie at registrarion and the branch manager, *Tim Castro handled the issue efficiently and professionally. They problem solved quickly all the while offering excellent customer service.They helped turn a stressful travel morning into a great one and both were super friendly!I wouldnt hesitate to return to them for any future rental needs and will confidently refer them to my family and coworkers.

The 5 stars are for the women working the counter at the palm springs airport. She was excellent. Unfortunately the review would otherwise be 2 stars max. There were 16 groups in line at 6 pm on Thursday and at first it seemed just her working. Fortunately two other joined to help but it still took 45 minutes to get our car. Seems like planning could be greatly improved.

Alamo was great. The person at the desk offered us a free upgrade because the car we rented was not yet ready. The car was clean. Both the rental and return were problem free with minimal to no waiting. Thank you Alamo!

Made an online reservation on 03/08 for a minivan to be picked up the evening of 03/13 returning it on 03/20.After a long day of travel with my wife and kids, stood in line at Alamo for a good half hour before getting to the counter and being told there were no vehicles available, and our reservation and prepaid deposit counted for nothing. The options we were given were we could wait at the airport as long as we were willing and see what comes in (might be a minivan, might not!), or we should get a cab to wherever we were staying and journey back to the airport the next day and try again. We got a cab and rented from Enterprise in Palm Desert.The people working the counter were nice and admirably stood there and took a lot of abuse from a line full of unsatisfied people.There are probably lots of satisfied customers associated with this particular Alamo, but that was not my experience. My reservation was meaningless, and it will be difficult to not remember that the next time I need to book a rental car.

I rented a full size car. At the time I picked up the car at the Palm Desert airport, there were no full sized cars available. So Alamo upgraded me to a premium car. This was a five star act which I appreciated very much. However, the inside of the windshield and back window were all smokey (a milky film) and streaked. The latter was an irritant, which I was able to remedy by cleaning the glass myself. Alamo should review the cleaning process at the Palm Desert airport so that the cars are proprly cleaned insideas well as on the outside.

Prepaid for small 4WD (Honda CRV size). Didnt have one when we got there. They said wait 20 minutes. Okay, we did. Go out and its a full sized Dodge Durango! Didnt mind the upgrade but still would have preferred a smaller vehicle. Only 2 of us so we didnt need something that seats 7 very comfortably.Vehicle was great with the exception of having expired tabs from Dec 2020.Trip went well, filled it with gas when returned. Check in fine. The Alamo person didnt seem to care the tabs were expired when I told him. Said they would email me final bill. They did email me but there was no PDF of the bill even though the email said there was. Also had this mysterious charge of $3+ on it. Prepaid the whole thing so thought theres wouldnt be any additional charges. Since I didnt actually get the bill Ill never know and $3 isnt worth me time to call about

This is my second time using Alamo after my great experience in Florida a month ago. The agent who assisted me over at the Enterprise counter was very professional. Experience was great for the moment I walked over. They actually had everything ready to go. I was in and out in like 2.5 minutes, no hassles, and no going back and forth with them on all the extras they try to offer. Alamo....you guys are on a roll with the great service! Not sure if Ill ever be going back to your competitors.

The woman working the counter at the Palm Springs airport was the only car rental company with a line. She was super efficient. Working the phone and the line at the same time. You hardly ever see anyone hustle like this when customers are waiting. I waited in line for about 5 minutes and when it was my turn I was on my way in 2 minutes! We has a very nice Ford Expedition. I am a Budget Fastbreak member but I will definitely check out Alamo rates in the future based on this great experience.

Plane in at 9pm, no one at counter and phone support says systems are down so no car. Had to uber. Had to uber back next day and wait in long lines only to have them try to give me a lower class car than wait we acfually paid for. Horrible customer service. No apology for problems we faced and tried to get us out as quick as possible. Will never use Alamo again.

Fast and friendly pickup. A very small problem of the electrical plug not working so we couldn’t use our own GPS—they immediately changed vehicles for us —again so friendly and helpful. SUV was in great shape-clean. And the return could not have been simpler and faster.This was a production line operation but with the friendliness and service of a Mom and Pop. We will continue using AlamoOh yes, also the best rates when we initially compared

Rude agent, no cars in inventory. A dozen people were waiting to pick up their rental car but no cars were available. I was forced to upgrade because my car class was not available and then charged the extra cost! Not happy with this company. Would not rent again from them.

On January 14 of 2021 I went on line to price a rental for the up coming three day weekend. After checking all sites enterprise in Indio, Ca, the closest branch to my house had the best deal on the type of vehicle I was looking to rent. I booked the vehicle, a BMW 5 series and within a couple of hours I was contacted by one of the associates at the branch. He informed me they didn’t have luxury vehicles of that type at their facility but they where willing to put me in something else such as a mustang convertible. It wasn’t what I was looking for but I was willing to settle. He canceled my previous booking and put me down for the convertible. An hour later I received another phone call stating, they couldn’t find a convertible at such short notice so the best he could do would be an Altima or Malibu. I passed on both because neither was remotely close to what I originally booked. I went back online and saw a BMW 3 series at the Palm Springs Airport Alamo branch. I booked for this vehicle, confirmation number, speed pass sign up (license number and home address) all that so when I got to the counter It would be as easy as put in the reservation number, pay and here’s your keys. Well, this was not the case.Day of rental: January 15th, I have my wife drop me off at work so can catch the city bus after work to the airport. All day I’m checking my phone to make sure I’m not missing any last minute calls from the rental car agent. At 5:00pm I get on the city bus in route to the airport. I arrive at 5:35pm wait patiently in line and when I get to the counter I see a sign stating unless you have a plane ticket you must use a credit card to pay for the rental. No where on my confirmation letter does it state at the time of rental you must provide a credit card. I informed the lady at the counter I have a credit card enough to cover the $200 hold but the rental will have to be put on my debit card. Well I guess this is against the policy of enterprise and Alamo. Although on the same day from LAX the couple, my wife and I where due to meet in Las Vegas, rented a vehicle from enterprise LAX with a debit card and a utility bill.I’ve also rented vehicles from enterprise at short notice in the past with only a debit card and some outrageous hold amount on my debit card but I understand that was the cost of doing business.So, in conclusion. I wasn’t able to get the car. My wife had to drive from north Indio to Palm Springs to pick me up and due the delay we missed out on the first day of our reservation for the hotel we had booked. This policy that is or isn’t in place needs to be in big bold letters on the confirmation page. When booking online people should know what your terms are before getting a confirmation letter. The confirmation letter you print don’t guarantee or solidify anything because when you get to the counter as in my case, the confirmation or number meant nothing. Just be advised when you choose to rent from Alamo or Enterprise there is no such thing as a guaranteed rental or confirmed vehicle or confirmed policy of how or how much your gonna pay. Always have a backup, “TURO!”

Mini van was dirty. Debris on the floor, smudges on the windows, dirty on the outside. The worst part was it smelled like smoke. It was very unpleasant to get into the car due to the smell. I wish we had immediately returned it for something else.

I rented a car from Alamo through Costco Travel. Costco has always treated us well and Alamo provided the same value. The car class we reserved was ready when we arrived. Checkin was a bit slow due to COVID, but all else went smoothly. The car was clean, exiting the airport was quick and return was fast. I would definitely rent from Alamo in the future.

The staff was great, but please read the small print. We had to call road services for a dead battery. You are responsible for the charge. If I left the lights on or out of gas, that is on me. But this was not the case, the road service arrived and jumped the battery, but the battery would not hold a charge. I was told that I would have to buy a new battery. Well, I was very close to rental place and returned the car for a different one. But they still wanted to charge me the road service. So read the small print.

While driving rental away from facility, I noticed that the gas gage wasnt quite on the full mark (7/8 of a tank). Took a picture of it with phone & upon return, let the return agent, at the ticket counter, made aware. I wasnt expecting any type of credit, just wanted Alamo to know for future customers. I was pleasantly surprised when the agent credited us a handsome amount off the total cost. Who wouldnt do business with these guys & gals?

Look, there might be a lot of good intentions here but the fact remains that Alamo was not able to deliver as promised and then proceeded to embarrass themselves IMO. Story as follows: reserved a premium sedan (Nissan Maxima or better promised) but received a Kia Optima. We chose to drive away in same after standing in line and waiting at this point for an hour....a lot of this is pandemic related I realize BUT. A few days later I returned to the airport (this after speaking to an Alamo service rep who gave me a report # and said that the manager at the Palm Springs Airport location would be made aware of our issue AND contact us — no one ever responded). I spotted a Chrysler 300 on the way in and mentioned to the agent that it would be acceptable...no problem.. let’s do it! Getting up close and personal to this vehicle only to realize it was ruined by the remains of LAPD investigative tape that had been applied across all hood, door and trunk openings. Absolutely incredible that this vehicle was in the lot and assessed as fit to be put out as a rental!!! So back again and into line at which point I asked whether a lux vehicle (BMWX3) was available and so it was ...for an additional $500+ fee for the month. My wife witnessed 2 Alamo/Enterprise employees discuss the reason for my return and quite literally ‘shrug’ it off. These are tough times and please understand that every single Alamo/Enterprise employee I spoke with was courteous and helpful BUT we were only expecting to get what we booked and paid for. Further to his initial posting I was asked to contact Alamo’s e-care and was offered coupon(s) totalling 2 days rental BUT only up to a full size vehicle. I asked for something that could be used against a current upcoming rental we have on a Premium Sedan and no dice. No flexibility for a customer that wants to and normally does rent something a bit better.

I booked a Mustang Convertible and when I arrived they had none. So they gave me a Bigger Camaro convertible which was a horrible car and the door rattled really bad. So i went back to exchange it the next day and they still had No Mustang convertibles. They also had No System that they could save one for me as soon as one came back off rental, which I find amazing considering that computers can do anything. And the Alamo counter is very busy during high season so you would have to wait in a big line if you ever came back to check if they had a car in stock you wanted. So I had to take an SUV for the balance of my 12 day rental as there were no other options.So bottom line not a very good rental experience. I paid a hefty premium to get the Mustang convertible and in hindsight I should have downgraded my rental when they didnt have one...

I rented a vehicle from the Palm Springs airport location from February 1 to the 29th. My plane was delayed and I had to stay another day. The good friends at Alamo told me it would cost me over $$400 to keep it for an extra day. This was because it would void the original contract. I had to drive from my location 35 miles away to go back to the airport and return the original vehicle and get another one. You would think that after I had rented that vehicle for a month they would’ve actually considered giving me an extra day for free but no.Don’t think that I will rent from them again.

Alamo at Palm Springs airport was the easiest car rental weve ever had. The checkin was next to baggage claim. I had the car keys before our baggage was out. Drop off was just as seamless. And all agents were extremely friendly and helpful!

We usually rent from Alamo because they have competitive prices and lots of locations with Skip the Counter. Even though Palm Springs doesnt have Skip, there was no line and the Alamo representative was friendly and efficient. She gave us our favorite car and we were on our way within minutes. We always check in online for faster service.

The vehicle we picked up, immediately had an indicator light come on showing low tire pressure. All tires needed needed significant increase in tire pressure. Alamo should ensure that vehicles that are rented are road safe.The agent we had at pick up was fabulous.

The rental experience at Palm Springs airport was very good. The wait was not bad, although wish it has been a bit faster. But when I was being served the agent was very nice and professional. I got a great car that was above the class I rented. My only minor complaint was the back window was a bit dirty and hard to see out of. Still, the car was very new, and was fun to drive. When I returned the car it was before they opened, but was easy to park and leave the keys in a collection box and I had my receipt in only about another hour or two. I would recommend Alamo, with the one suggestion that you have a reservation and do the online pre-rental check in as I did - my rental processing time at the counter was very fast contrasting to the very long process of the person in front of me who didnt even have a reservation.

I rented a car from Alamo at the Palm Springs airport. When I arrived at the counter, the rep told me it was managers choice on the car... Which actually turned out great for me! I was given a choice of a Nissan Frontier or a Dodge Challenger. I chose the Dodge. Access to the vehicle was stupid away and of I went. Returning the car was equally ready... Separate entrance to the rental car return at the airport which was super nice. Just pull in, take out your belongings and the rep takes the keys... Off you go. It couldnt have been more efficient! The reps were really friendly and offered help getting my bag out of trunk. Ive rented with Alamo several times now. The rate was excellent also! Happy customer

Excellent staff when doing my online booking. I had made a mistake on my registration. I sent an email afterwards and it was rectified promptly. The agent noticed I there was a better rate, with a better vehicle, for me and took the initiative to change my reservation accordingly. This was very much appreciated! The staff on-sight, check in staff to the vehicle return staff were very efficient and very nice! The vehicle we received was simply awesome! I will definitely check with Alamo first when I travel to the area again! Thank you!

Alamo has always been a great experience. The whole process is streamlined and getting your keys and getting out of the airport is very quick. The staff has always been great and personable and able and willing to help with any concern. I still do check prices to make sure I am getting the best deal but not surprisingly Alamo is always the best. Can’t recommend them enough.

This rental experience was the best. No lines, fast friendly service both picking up the car and dropping it off. Easy access with clear easy signs to drop off. No hassle car rentals should be the norm and apparently it is with Alamo. I used a debit card and had zero problems with it. From now on Ill only rent with Alamo at Palm Springs when Im here.

Rented a SUV at the Palm Springs airport for a six day rental period. Upon arrival at the Alamo desk I was nicely greeted and taken care of expeditiously. The car a 2017 Jeep Cherokee was just the right size for my party of 4 with luggage and two sets of golf clubs. The car was clean with only 2000 miles and with a full tank of gas. The same was with the return - greeted nicely and quickly. The whole experience was very civilized. All of this with a very reasonable cost. Highly Recommended

Frankly I was dismayed . I arrived at the PSP airport on a flight from SFO only to find the Alamo rental desk there in PS closed .(I had a reservation as did others on the flight.)The plane was a few minutes late but the esk was supposed to stay open til 9:00pm. They went home early it seemed.

I booked a rental car here on 4/18 for 11:00pm. My flight was delayed and I arrived at the counter a bit past 11:30pm. The counter was closed!I, and at least two other customers, were left car-less. Hertz, Budget, and Avis were all still open. There was a family who arrived for a road trip, and they needed a car until May! Imagine making that payment again on your card; no thank you.I looked back at both confirmation emails I got from Alamo and neither said anything about this policy. The only mention of after-hours was if you were dropping a car OFF from 11:30pm-5:30am, and even that explanation was in fine print. There was no mention whatsoever about the counter closing at a certain time for pick ups. That has to be fixed.

We booked through Costco and nobody could beat Alamos prices. The cars are great and when we a car that was too large for us, they were able to provide us with the right size vehicle and adjust the price. The car was a bit dirty, but the manager provided us with a discount with no argument. Easy check-in and return process. Will be returning as a customer.

The gentleman who greeted me at the Phoenix airport when I returned the car was a complete professional and although I had an issue with the rental car he took care of the situation right there without making go inside the office which saved me a lot of time and proved yet again why I continue to rent with Alamo. It’s service like this that sets them apart. He told me he didn’t want me leave unhappy and resolved the problem then and there on the spot. Long line upon arrival. Had reserved a full sized SUV was offered one option which was covered in dog hair. Was forced to again wait in a 20’ line to change cars for a smaller vehicle “standard suv” which was sufficient but had 23k miles on it. No apology was given and no attempt to rectify the situation and get me into the car I reserved. I’ve rented from several Alamo locations across the country and generally experienced great customer service, definitely not the case at the Palm Springs location.

LATE ARRIVALS BEWARE!!! This location took a booking for 11pm. But they do not actually stay open that late! An on site recording told me they actually close at 930pm despite all the published info that claims 1130pm closing. So if you have an evening arrival book with budget or hertz!!! They were still open when I arrived!!!I normally rent exclusively from Alamo. This was a surprise. Plus after two calls to their 888 number and promises for a manager to call... nada. I ended up renting from budget for more $$.

This was my first time ever renting a vehicle. I chose Alamo because of their low prices, but if I ever have to rent again, I’d go with another company.1. The customer service rep wouldn’t honor my free upgrade offer. I didn’t make a fuss about it, especially because she was polite.2. The first car I was given had a bunch of questionable stains on the back seat. I just wanted them to clean it, but they ended up giving a different vehicle.3. That second vehicle had expired tags. I realized this a few hours after getting the car. So I called the 888 number to ask what I should do. The lady said to take the car back. I asked for a direct number to the location (Palm Springs Airport) to verify, and the lady at the desk said to bring the vehicle back because all they have to do is replace some stickers. So I drove all the way back to the airport. The guy who’s at drop off said I cannot keep the same vehicle; they’re going to give another car. I went inside to explain to the same lady who gave us the first vehicle that I’m the one who called them about the expired tags. A guy at the desk jumps in the conversation and insinuates that I’m lying about the phone call because driving around with expired tags isn’t an issue in California. He further argues that I spoke to someone in an office at another location. We were going back and forth until I just decided not to respond to him anymore. To make a long story short, I did end up driving a different vehicle with current tags.I gave Alamo three stars despite the inconvenience and unsatisfactory experience with customer service because I was still able to get a vehicle for a low price, Alamo offered unlimited miles, and the drop off was a better experience. In the future, I’d definitely pay more money with another company to avoid this unnecessary drama.

We rented a Managers Special compact or larger. We got a crew cab 1/2 ton pickup. If we wanted a smaller car it would have cost $15/day more??Go figure. We have used the Manager Special before and got full sized cars.So heads up you may get a car you dont want and would be charged for a smaller more usable car in urban areas. Probably wont use this option again!!

Placed online booking for PSP. When we arrived I only had to wait for 1 person. Got everything completed in less than 4 minutes, got me key, out to the parking lot and off we went. Service was great, so was the SUV.Returning was even easier, mileage taken a quick scan and a short walk to the airport. 5 STARS all around. Thanks!!!

Checkin and check out was relatively easy. Was not impressed with the choice of vehicle given. Was to be a premium sedan, Mercedes or similar, we received a strip model Audi Q3 that is the smallest suv Audi offers. Premium brand name but by no means a premium vehicle. I paid more for the premium sedan than what a suv rental costs. Not impressed with what was given for vehicles, we wanted to get going and the line up was too large to wait and make a fuss over it. Had we received a premium sedan they would have received 5 star.

Reserved a full size SUV. On pick up told that prior customer left vehicle without keys. Substituted us with a mini van until SUV available. Poorly working AC, with temps in the 105 range. Called the following day, told SUV available and ready for pick up. Drove back to airport only to be told mustve spoke with a call center because they still had no vehicle. Gave us the same van back. No manager to speak to, no return call after message left for manager. Advised by counter person, Kevin, that this happens all the time. Alamo takes reservations regardless of vehicle availability . Finally after 4 days we were able to pick up our reserved SUV. Will not use Alamo again.

Helpful staff, a pretty smooth and efficient process to get a car (though you cant choose your own car - they assign one!). One concern was that the car(s) available to me were not the cleanest, compared to the LAX Alamo. I choose Alamo where possible because I can count on their good-quality rentals, and though the car had lower mileage and was totally decent, more care could have been given to cleaning the rental. The supervisor on duty offered to put me in another vehicle to rectify things, but I chose not to accept it as it was an SUV/larger than what I wanted. She also noted that desert sand blowing off the Salton Sea were getting into the vents of the rentals and making things look a little untidier - I could see this. Overall, a decent experience but not the great experience I usually expect from Alamo.

I recently rented a one way, one day car from Palm Springs to Ontario, California. I do many one way rentals and am glad that some car rental agencies like Alamo seem to be more in tune with that demand. Alamo offered great one day rate and quick pickup and return at both ends.

Disorganized Operation at Palm Springs Airport.We reserved a minivan but they ran out of minivans so they upgraded me to a large SUV (Ford Expedition) for free. The agent was very friendly and gave us a choice of SUVs but highly recommended the Expedition since it was brand new with only 15 miles. The check in process overall was smooth and nice.However, the return process was chaotic. The normal return location was full and cars were parked and backed up past the Alamo driveway into the road. Signs directed us around the corner to a dark empty lot that was poorly marked with no agents. After several minutes, a security guard walked up and told us to leave the keys in the car and that the car would be checked in later because everything was currently a mess. I was given no paperwork to confirm that I had returned the car. I was worried that something would happen to the car and I would be responsible but had to catch my flight. Luckily there were no issues and 9 hours later I received an email confirming that I had returned my vehicle.

I was very surprise at the car I got to rent. It was my first time to drive a BMW car and I did have to learn a number of things. I was pleased with the car and the way it ran. I like SUVs for one sits higher up and is able to see more and the mirrors were a great help. I want to thank all who make this possible.William Bried

Very pleased with the whole experience. Booked online and followed directions for pick up at the airport. Reception at the airport was very good, vehicle was not the one I was to get but very similar so no problem there, and the return was quick and easy (Ryan was great). I have used Alamo or National car rental over the years and have always had a good experience up until this past rental.We reserved our car 5 months in advance for 2 weeks at the Palm Springs California airport. We flew in from New York JFK on a direct flight arriving at 9:30 PM. We pick up our luggage and went to the Alamo desk to get our rental. We saw a few other people at the desk very upset and then discovered that THERE WERE NO CARS AVAILABLE FOR ANYONE The person at the desk was very blunt saying I dont know why! There is nothing I can do! He suggested we go to another rental desk to see if they had cars available. There were cars but not the type I had reserved and they were $200.00 more overall for the rental period and there was no discount for advanced reservation. Finally after over an hour of discussion and bickering, the Manager came in and said he was outside cleaning up cars they said we could take a cab to our resort and come back in the morning and Maybe they would have a car for us. Not acceptable!He finally he got us a mini-van and we were on our way after 1 1/2 hours.The van was fine he did what her could to ease our discomfort at the wait time. Alamo THIS IS NO WAY TO RUN YOUR BUSINESS!We will think twice before deciding on National or Alamo rentals again.

Our car rental at Alamo located at the Palm Springs airport was very good. We got our car quickly after we arrived and the vehicle was just what we needed. The car return was very efficient as well.The agency did miss our Airline rewards number on checkin and we called about it, but it was not clear if this was rectified.We have used this agency before with good results

It was awsome when we showed up at the airport location with our 2 kids and it was 11pm to be told that the car we reserved a month in advance was not there . In fact they had no cars there and probably around 15 other people from the same flight were told the same thing. All the other companys had cars for their customers but not Alamo. Just brutal !!!!

I would rent from Alamo again. I got the car we booked at the price we booked. Line up was a bit long, took maybe 20 minutes. Spoke with someone who goes there regularly and he said its the 1st time he saw a big line up. Returned to a different location (Las Vegas). Everything went smoothly there as well.
