This is for Thrifty Car Rentals at Palm Springs Airport. There was no one at the Thrifty line. After asking around, because there were no signs, we finally called the customer service number. They finally told us to get into the Hertz line with was 2 hours long. Nothing they could do...they told us. Never again will we rent from this joke of a business

The guy behind the counter was super nice and efficient. We rented a convertible from here for a few days and it was a smooth process. The back seat of the car was actually messy though when we picked it up (see pics) but the front was clean. Not thriftys fault but just be aware PS airport charges for car rentals add quite a bit of cost.

I worked with Ben and he was very professional and a real pleasure to work with. I did notice the car wasnt very clean when I got in and I worried a littleabout covid-19 and also the possibility of being charged but it was late and there was nobody around outside to look at it. But the car waa fine mechanically and returning the car was fine afterall.

Dealt with Abraham he made the pick-up process so easy.I would highly recommend Thrifty!!! We booked online a YUKON XL or like model for a week. I honestly expected the “like model”🤨 I got the YUKON XL exactly as pictured😁😁😁😁😁😁It was a great care and saved my vacation.Had car trouble on the way to LA and long story short Thrifty SAVED this trip. I even ended up having to extend my rental by two+ weeks and change the drop off location. Customer service made it an absolute breeze with NO high fees or issues. Each call was fast and friendly.Again I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THRIFTY!!! Will definitely use THRIFTY IN THE FUTURE.

We thought we were getting a great deal on a rental car at a small airport. $147 for five nights! Amazing! There was no line when we checked in and the guy was really nice. A little pushy for the insurance add-on, but we didnt want it and he understood. He also let us know that we wouldnt have to pay extra to add a second driver! Our check in was a total breeze and we couldnt have been happier. Fast forward to 15 days later.... I get THREE toll notice violations invoices from something called Thrifty Rental Fine/Thrifty Processing Services all totaling over $100. The toll fees themselves are each around $25 which is fair, because were were driving to and from San Clemente, Riverside, and Anaheim. I knew there would be tolls. What I didnt know was that Thrifty charges a $15 PER TOLL administrative fee, or so they say... The wording on the three bills I got was suspicious.: We are requesting that you reimburse us for the toll amount we paid on your behalf, and also pay the administrative fee authorized in the Rental Agreement.I go to read over the rental agreement and it does say that they will charge a $15 per toll admin fee, but PER RENTAL AGREEMENT. So why did they send me THREE invoices EACH asking for an additional $90 of admin fees, when there was only ONE rental agreement. This is such a scam. After calling the desk directly, and getting a voicemail, I do some digging and decide to log in to the website they give as an option for paying your fines. Sure enough, I type in my rental info and the amount due is only $131. Which is the total of all my tolls from the trip plus ONE $90 admin fee. which is way more fair than paying the requested $270 in admin fees alone, plus my $95 of actual tolls.Anyway, I about had a heart attack as I opened one bill after another, gasping at the balances due!! I am not sure why they would send me three separate invoices instead of just one and how they thought they could get away with billing me an extra $180.My advice is, pay the damn tolls within five days of driving, so that Thrifty doesnt have to, and you dont have to pay even one admin fee. But also, because this wasnt explained to me neither before I rented the car nor when I dropped it off, I feel a bit scammed and wish they would have just educated me on paying the tolls within five days to avoid the extra fees. I am from Oregon and we do not have tolls, so I am rather uneducated about it. I have also rented cars in dozens of other states and countries and have never had to pay such a ridiculous (or any amount) of so-called admin fees.We will not rent from Thrifty again.

Some advice to renters and this was told to me by their customer service. If a car is ALREADY due for a deep cleaning, YOU will be stuck with the charge even though its their maintenance service schedule. And all charges will be listed as a smoking fee even if you dont smoke at all. Do not rent from them!

Going on vacation you only bring a current amount of money. Well my boyfriend and I did exactly that. We purchased our car rental on line a week in advance for $320.00 that was for one week cool no problem.when we arrived to thrifty from the airport the lady name Cynthia White tried to offer us a more expensive car when she found out that we were from New York, and tried to get us to use their insurance so that they can charge us more. being that we were so exhausted after two flights and no sleep for a day and a half didnt even think to say no thank you for the insurance we can use our own she already had made my boyfriend swipe his card for $760.00. then when we told her we didnt want the insurance she immediately went from a smile to attitude and I heard her say that they will fix the difference and she gave us the new receipt for $300 and whatever it was for tax.when we got to the place we were staying at my boyfriend looked at his bank account and notice that the $700 charge was still taken out and it wasnt changed to the $300 charge. So we called thrifty and we got transferred four or five times I cannot remember I lost count. And they all said the same thing that there was pretty much nothing they could do till tomorrow. So my boyfriend and I decided that we should just take the car back in the morning instead of waiting to return it the last day for the week because we didnt want to deal with it anymore they took all our money for our vacations. Come Monday morning we go and we tell them our situation and they charged us $25 for bringing the car back early and for one day rental plus that was $77.00.and then they told my boyfriend that he would have to call his bank so that they can take the hold off and the new charge will be the $77 and he will get his money back and it would take 24 hours. Do we call the bank and thats not what they said they told him something totally different and that it would take up to 3 to 5 business days to get his money back. So much for a vacation now we have no money for a vacation thanks a lot thrifty you guys suck.

The fact that it takes them 20 min to check in each client destroys the convenience factor that normally comes with flying into/out of smaller airports. Be prepared to wait an hour or more just to get to the counter. They seriously need to rethink their archaic procedure for processing rental carsThen after waiting forever to get my car, I was told they were out of car seats (despite it being in my reservation)

Palm Springs Airport is by far the best place to rent a car anywhere. Its conveniently located where the baggage is and returning the car is ideal. Drive up, get out and walk away. If only other airports were that simple. I only wish this company would allow out of state rentals because I had to return the car and rent from Thrifty to drive to Texas yet the car I rented in CA had Texas plates? Odd, but love the ease of this airport and their car rentals. Great experience always.

I just wanted to inform everyone about my awful experience with Thrifty at the Palm Springs International Airport because I really wouldnt want anyone to experience the same situation.I prepaid the car rental AND insurance specifically to ensure that when I arrived the check would be quick and simple. However, when I arrived, there seemed to be an issue with just about everything. Not only did they not have the particular car I paid for, but they also tried every trick in the book to get us to pay additional charges as well as insurance (which was already paid for). It was a headache going back and forth with the employees especially because I knew they were trying to scam me the whole time. I paid for a van but ended up receiving a much smaller vehicle which was a hassle because there was a large group of us. At this point I was too frustrated to argue back and forth with them so we took the smaller vehicle. After we finally received the car we thought things were fine. However, after checking my credit card statement there was an age differential fee for $237.92 USD since I am under 25 years old. The problem with this was not only the large amount but also the fact that this was never mentioned when the car was pre-booked and paid for. This was never clearly disclosed which is ridiculous considering that their website clearly states At Thrifty we ask for your age up front so we can tell you if a young driver surcharge will apply. After thoroughly reading through other online reviews, it is quite clear that Thrifty tries to aggressively up-sell many of their customers and trick them into paying much more than they should be. If this fee was truly necessary then it definitely shouldve been stated at the time of booking.Overall, it was a very unpleasant experience and Thrifty has extremely poor customer service. I will NEVER book with them again.

Was quoted $244 ended up paying $500 in “fees” and insurance that I wasn’t given an option for. The woman at the counter gave us 3 choices for the insurance, but never told us it wasn’t necessary. Called the company and they told me I had to take it up with the location, called the location and no answer. Just know you’re not going to pay what you get quoted, so they aren’t the cheaper option!

Criminals. Returned the car and walked out to the airport parking lot and realized I forgot my wallet in the car. Turned around and immediately went back to retrieve it. The customer service representative was very unsympathetic/rude. The wallet was found. We were told that if we were even ten minutes longer it would have been gone. Cause I guess throwing out peoples belongings is a company policy?! Anyway, luck for us the wallet was returned just missing all the money that was inside. Wow, you even had the nerve to look me straight in the eye when you handed it back. I hope Karma gets you.

I had an excellent experience with my last Thrifty rental. 1) it really pays to sign up for the Blue Chip membership 2) It really pays to get all your preferences in place in your profile prior to your rental 3) You probably need at least a mid-sized car; the compacts at Thrift are Versas and similar and very small. No knock on Thrifty...this is probably true of all rental companies but compact is much smaller than it used to be. We liked our mid-sized Chevy Cruze.

I rented a car from Thrifty at the Palm Springs airport to drive to Anaheim. They didnt advise me that they have a toll package for when I drove on toll roads. Now, I have to pay an extra $15 from the tolling company for being negligent in addition to the tolls for the roads I took. Had I known that this package existed, I wouldve purchased it. They couldve helped me out, but didnt, and thats disappointing.

Rented a car on Tuesday when I arrive in Palm Springs for vacation. The car battery died on Thursday. I was unable to get service through the roadside assistance without paying an additional $60. Received a jump from a stranger and was able to get the car back to the house. The next morning the battery was dead again I tried to contact thifty at the airport but there is no listed number. I have been on the phone waiting for help. For. 3 hours.
