One of the best vets Ive had, and Ive had many over the years. Always willing to help and listen and provide great helpful, honest feedback. I would trust any of my animals to them at any time.
Everyone was so helpful and had so much patience when I was freaked out about my fur baby. I would definitely make this my go to animal hospital.
We have brought our two corgis here for nearly six years. At first, there was no issues. That changed around 2019. I figured with COVID, there was changes internally, but that does not make up for the incidents we faced: hours long wait times, uncompassionate doctors, minimal effort, and lackluster apologies when these concerns are pointed out.Recently, after bringing our 8 yo girl corgi in, a technician told us she had hip dysplasia and needed surgery or her quality of life would be poor. He refused to get a doctor, as they were all busy. It took me begging on the phone to have an actual vet tell me her case was mild and joint supplements should be enough. In June, our 9 yo male corgi was ill. He also had difficulty urinating. An X-Ray showed he had a bladder stone the size of 50-cent piece. He had surgery and a sample of the stone was sent to analysis. We were told it would take 2-4 weeks. For aftercare, we were told to keep his cone on, not let him lick the area, and give him antibiotics for a week. He also had a medicated diet, but he did not like the wet food. After a lot of debate where we were told to make him eat it anyway, they gave us dry kibble.A week later, the vet berated us for not keeping the area clean, as the incision appeared inflamed. We should have put a tee shirt on him and made him sleep on his side. We were asked multiple times about medication despite explaining none was given to us after the antibiotics were done last week. We were given a topical cream. The following week, the vet stated the incision now was running a risk for infection as we obviously were not following directions. When I explained that we were not given any instruction beyond the very minimal, the vet dismissed me, left the room and did not return. He ordered the tech to administer a steroid shot, and we were given a new (better) topical gel. Noticing I was upset, the tech spoke to the hospital manager, who said they would speak to the vet.The last time we went, the vet did not even see me. I waited an hour for the tech to say my dog was fine but he would have to stay on this medicated food for life, the first I heard about this. She then brought my dog to the back for the vet to check, and 30 seconds later, I was told I could leave. We still have not even gotten a follow up call or an idea when the analysis for the stone should come in, and its been nearly two months now.The only reason Im writing this is because I just went to a different clinic and the atmosphere, professionalism and knowledge of the staff was what everyone should expect when going to a provider who cares for animals.
I took my dog for a toe injury (long nails) and they were able to get me in quick and easy! Unfortunately I didnβt get the results I was expecting after three weeks. After talking to the technician and my dogβs doctor, I was a bit frustrated with the whole situation. Fortunately, the manager was super nice and understanding of my feelings! We scheduled an appointment the day after with the other doctor, dr.Wells. Dr.Wells and his assistant were amazing!!! He showed my dog lots of love and patience (my dog is aggressive) and took the time to really teach and encourage his assistant (as a student that means a lot to me!) Overall happy with the experience! I was in and out in less than hour and received instructions/medication. Thank you to the lovely manager, Dr.Wells, and his Assistant!π
As a new customer and with a small puppy, I was allowed to come in regardless of the COVID restriction. It lessened the anxiety of both the pup and me. The pup, a chihuahua (known to shake) started playing with the technician and lost his fear pretty quickly. Answered any questions/concerns I had.
Vet Dr. Wells was more than caring and did a thorough exam and I felt my dog was in good hands and getting great care. He explained everything and I left there confident with the diagnosis and treatment and my dog is doing great after his great care. The Vet Tech was so caring with Denali. He was so concerned about my dog and I felt comfortable with him handling my dog. He cared and handled my scared dog Denali with gentle care which put him at ease.He was very courteous with me and pleasant. The lady at the front desk was very pleasant and topped off my positive experience with this great vet care.I rescue and also foster dogs for 2 rescues so I have been to many vets and this vet and experience with all the staff definately deserves a 5 star review.
After calling two other Clinics they were the only ones who gave us a suggestion on how to help our puppy Hapi, who ate a face mask. The other Clinics just told us they did not have appointments. Thank you for caring for our puppy!
Why is it so difficult to find a good vet in Orlando? Three weeks ago my dog ββwas tested and I still dont have the results today. Meanwhile my dog ββis at home every day getting worse health! They havent even called to tell us anything. Nothing. $ 650 lost on this Vet site.Update (01/22/2021): I am raising my Review from 2 stars to 5 stars. The vet center staff was trying to reach me the whole time, but my voicemail was full and I couldnt get any messages. All the people at this veterinary center are great; especially manager Arlene. They have a human sense and 100% guaranteed quality. I offer my apologies to this great organization. Your pets will be in the best hands. The best vets and staff are here. They are the best for many miles around. My sincere apologies for my poor review at the beginning of the week. You are great! Thanks for your love and professionalism! God bless you!
They are the best!!!! I love how they love our fur children & make the fur parents feel at ease, no matter what the issue. :)
Had a very great experience, my puppy loves them lol definitely my go to vet β¨
Even during the this hard situation ... The Dr. Daniel and technicians were as advertised on their outdoor sign. Been looking for a friendly and knowledgeable place and Im glad I found it. They were very kind, straight forward and the energy was great! ... just busy ... but I know why :) - Thank you for the pleasant experience.
They are overpriced and try to scam you. We have taken our dog here a few times, and each time has pushed us away more. Started when they tried to sell us an annual plan which covered and I quote annual neutering, please explain how you plan to neuter my dog once a year. We also went there for an ear infection, which they quoted us an ear flush for around $300. Well we took our dog to a different vet and had the ear flush done and went home with ear flush medicine for less than $100. Everything here is ridiculously overpriced, and they will try to sell you plans that dont even make sense. We found a much better new vet for our pup.
Very friendly and attentive staff with a wonderful Vet. They made sure that me and my border collie was treated with the utmost respect and made sure that everything was taken care of. I would highly recommend this Veterinary office to anyone who is looking for one with fair prices and excellent staff.
Needed to speak with the vet due to having an older rescue with not a lot of knowledge of his history regarding shots and it was 5 mins to 5pm. The lady told me sheβd leave a note to call to call me, but he probably wouldnβt since they closed at 5:30pm. Iβve taken my dog there before, but didnβt get much help due to covid & not being able to accompany my dog inside and now still no help. Definitely donβt recommend this place if you want the up & up on your animal & a feel good feeling.
Our 4 month old puppy that we had just adopted had gotten terribly sick with a cough and wheezing - we thought it was kennel cough at first however it got worse and she was refusing to eat or drink any water so we rushed her to the ER (it was a Sunday night and most vets were closed). We had to keep our pup there overnight and when I picked her up the following morning they said she had pneumonia and will need continued care for the following weeks and recommend I take her to Edgewater Animal Hospital right away. Left the ER and rushed over to Edgewater and from the second we walked in they welcomed us with loving arms (first time dog mom here so I was freaking out). They assured me that they would do everything they could to help her feel better. She was hooked up to an IV and needed meds every couple of hours. It ended up being about 4-5 months of breathing treatments, meds and multiple vet visits but I am happy to say that our puppy is pneumonia free now and SO much better! I truly canβt thank the staff, vet techs and vet here for saving her life. Highly, highly recommend Edgewater Animal Hospital.
The weekend doctor told me, verbatim: Tramadol doesnt work on dogs. He is a condescending, uneducated, male chauvinistic doctor who yells at his clients, hangs up on them, and lies about medicine. More will be posted on this in detail regarding the weekend doctor. We have a new vet now, and WOW, THEY PRESCRIBED TRAMADOL? Run from this place as fast as you can, they do not care about you nor your animal.
Was a new patient today. I am totally supportive of the curbside pickup but you wanted me to pay $192 and the vet never came out to to talk to me, so I denied the services for the shots. I was then denied a very common medication for heartworms, and had to go to another vet to get it.Im only leaving three stars because the technician was kind and understood where i was coming from.
I have been taking my dogs here since we moved to the area three years ago, after trying three other clinics in the area. I couldnβt imagine going anywhere else. The staff is so friendly and accommodating, especially because my ruby doesnβt like other dogs. They always greet us with a warm smile, and my dogs always feel comfortable with the staff. I have them boarded here when we go on vacation, and itβs obvious everyone takes great care of my babies when we are out of town. Since Dr Bowen retired and they see a new vet here, we havenβt had any issues. Sheβs patient, friendly and knowledgeable. The vet techs interact with Max and Ruby as if they were their own dogs. I am very fussy when it comes to the care of my pets, and I have recommended Edgewater to many of my friends in the area, and will continue to do so. They are truly THE best vet clinic weβve ever gone to.
I made appt for my dog and cat for vaccines and I was leaving them for boarding everyone was so nice and my furry babies were very comfortable with the tech and the doctor. I pick them up on Monday everything was ready when I got there I was very impressed everything went smoothly and my furry babies were happy. Made my next boarding Reservation for June.
Iβve been taking my pets to Edgewater Animal Hospital since 1996 and Dr Bowen has always been a friend and compassionate and honest professional medical provider. This care and compassion is reflected by the office and medical staff every time I call or come in for a scheduled or unscheduled visit. The team here is wonderful and has gone out of their way many times help my family pets. They are part of our family.I look forward to continuing this relationship with Dr. McCants in the future.
I have been going to Edgewater Animal Hospital since 1994. I trust the staff completely with the health, safety and security of my dogs and wouldnt think of going anywhere else! They are always so attentive and loving with my dogs which makes me rest easy when leaving them in their care. I have always recommended them to my friends and will continue to do so!
I just had both of my French bull dogs boarded here for 2 nights and one of dogs came back in urine and feces all over his legs. He is not the same as when I dropped him off. Very quiet and down, hoping for him to get back to normal. The employees were very kind but I will never have my dogs boarded here again. The gentleman did call and apologized but I know my dogs were not taken good care of.
Nice friendly staff that cares about your animal... And they offer care packages to save money on future visits with a monthly payment option.
Still cant believe they will charge their patients $14 just to have their dogs nails clipped. Could justify if it wasnt a patient. Maybe its time to find a new veterinarian!
I took my Great Dane mix here for rabies and bordetella and for an ear infection. The vet tried to upsell his treatment for fleas and ticks saying the ones I bought werent good enough which is ridiculous. Ive never had a vet say that to me.Then he told me that Great Danes were dumb for no reason which was upsetting.Ended up paying 200 dollars just for the shots and to get my dogs ear cleaned which is also a scam, since the drops have normally costed me only 30 dollars in the past.Im not coming back again.
Long time customer of Edgewater Animal Hospital and I am so grateful for them. The clinic recently went under new ownership, and Dr. Bowen was loved by many before retiring. However, I chose to stay with the clinic because of the honestly INCREDIBLE staff. Theyβre kind, compassionate, and go out of their way to make a difference for concerned pet parents (which I certainly am). Theyβve taken so many phone calls from me to walk me through processes and always keep my budget in mind (shout out to all front desk staff, Becky, and Keegan). The new vet, Dr. Daniels started this week and I received top notch service today. He walked me through a complicated diagnosis for my cat and explained everything step-by-step. Great bedside manner and knowledgeable. Iβm very glad to see him as an addition to this already remarkable team. All my best to EAH!
First time I did business with them was for an unfortunate event of putting our pet down. All the nurses were real nice and attentive and the doctor was really great. He went into clear details of what was going to happen and how. After all was done he suddenly recited a prayer for my just deceased dog, I did not expect that. When we get another pet they will be my first choice to take care of it.
My two dogs have been going to this clinic for since 2017. I absolutely loved Dr Bowen & his staff. They were so friendly & willing to educate.HOWEVER, Dr Bowen has retired earlier this year & I am disappointed in this New Management. The office visit from Thurs 7/11/19 was uncomfortable. The Vet had no personality & was NOT friendly. The staff is still nice.I asked the staff about a using another Vet in November for my other dog. If this doesnt work, I will be finding another Vet.Tamara
Very short wait time. Nice enviroment. The cat had a shot and got well. I am with this place.
Great vet. Knowledgeable. Friendly. Becky is great she knows just how to handle my very hyper dog. 5 stars all the way
Compassionate and caring staff. Ive been bringing my pets there for many years. They care as much about the pet owner as they do the pets. Really great people. 5 Stars.
Knowledgeable, friendly staff. Techs take really great care of pets. Dr. Bowden and his employees go the extra mile for each individual animals needs. Pet owners can rest assured that theyre getting the very best care at the very best prices. I highly recommend them for all your Veterinarian and boarding needs.
Called spur of the moment to get a shot for my kitty & they found he had worms. very knowledgable & friendly staff. definitely coming back here for my kittyβs needs. no fuss & extra add ons, just an honest opinion from the doctor.
Edgewater animal hospital is hands-down the best veterinarian clinic I have ever been to. From the front desk staff to the vet technicians to the veterinarian Dr. Bowen himself everything was outstanding! The whole staff really took the time to help me when I found a stray baby kitten with a broken leg. Even though this clinic is an hour away from where I live I will keep going back to this clinic just because of how big their hearts are here. So if you are looking for a new vet I highly recommend this establishment thank you so much Edgewater Animal Hospital team you meant the world to this stray baby kitten!!
I have been bringing my pets to Dr. Bowen since 1989. He has treated 3 dogs, seven cats and a hamster over the years. Dr.Bowen is a caring and skilled surgeon with a wonderful bed side manner. Likewise he has a professional and caring staff.
When I moved to the Maitland Area I took my cats to this vet and it was the best experience ever. I refuse to see another vet. Ive moved to the East Orlando area, and it is still worth the drive to go to Edge Water Animal Hospital, because the doctors remember you, really care for your animal, and it is still more affordable even with the longer drive. If you want a god vet that cares for animals and their health you must go here.
Our family have been patients of Edgewater Animal Hospital for 30 years. Dr. Bowen and his staff are kind and caring with our pets. Always gentle and patient while examining, then taking time to explain treatment and answer every question. When that sad time came to help our sweeties into heaven they were generous with their love and compassion. Weve been through that process with them four times, each time their understanding was a great comfort. Dr. Bowen always sends a lovely condolence card with a heartfelt message for us.Our remaining two dogs like to see the crew when they have a visit because theres always lots of love, hugs and treats. In addition, on the weekend Dr. Liro is on duty. What a wonderful lovely lady she is, she takes great care and time to make our visit a pleasure. With a sweet smile and always happy to see us she is so nice, plus giving me compliments on how well we care for our pups. Proof that Dr. Bowen knows the best people to care for us in his absence.Every single person at the office are loving, caring, patient and knowledgeable. Thats so important when your pets are hurt or sick and Im worried and scared.Dr. Bowen has been there for us through some very difficult times, he and his team are a blessing from God.Thanks for everything Edgewater Animal Hospital!Saralinda Potts
We have been bringing our dogs here for 5 years and never had an issue. The vet was always very professional and loved our dogs as much as we do. One of our dogs has always required sedation for nail trimmings which this hospital has never had a problem with.We scheduled our dog for her annual and they book us out a week. No big deal. Our appointment is at 8:30 on a Saturday morning. We get a call at 8:00 on the morning of her appointment asking us to call them as there is a slight issue. Jackie proceeds to tell us that they can not see our dog because she is aggressive and the notes state she requires sedation. We continue to tell Jackie that our dog isnβt aggressive, she just isnβt great getting her nails trimmed just like a lot of dogs. The doctor will not see our dog anymore after never having a problem with her over the last 5 years. I drove down to pick up her records and Jackie is telling me βitβs all over her records sheβs aggressiveβ. I read the first line and it says....βsedation for nail trimmingβ.Clearly they canβt read their own records nor are they available to handle a dog that needs sedation for nail trimmings any longer. I think this is indicative of Edgewater Animal Hospital not necessarily being a βhospitalβ but more along the lines of animal care.As a result, we are moving our pet care to another vet. Perhaps one of the other 15 veterinarian care options we pass going to Edgewater from Altamonte.Edit for response to the owner: Maybe we werenβt clear enough.WE ONLY WANTED TO DO OUR ANNUAL VACCINATIONS AND SHOTS. WE DID NOT WANT TO HAVE HER NAILS TRIMMED AS WE HAVE BEEN AWARE YOU CANβT SEDATE ON THE WEEKENDS FOR 5 YEARS. OUR DOG HAS NO PROBLEM RECEIVING HER SHOTS OR VACCINATIONS. Exclamation points just to grab your attention and hope you read it.!!!!!!SHE ONLY NEEDS SEDATION TO HAVE HER NAILS TRIMMED.!!!!!!!!And no you didnβt ask us to reschedule. Jackie told us to either muzzle her or take her somewhere else.Maybe you should be more in depth of reading your patient charts and understanding why they need the special attention on certain visits. Just because an animal needs sedation for her nails and we usually do it when we bring her in for her annual doesnβt mean the dog needs to be sedated for her annual. You have failed the patient and customer with your documentation and your ability to be familiar with your customer base.Jackie is the one who told us our dog is not welcome as the doctor wonβt see her.
All other reviews are done by present employees. Prices are outrageous. I loved the staff, until last week. This lady Arlene has NO idea how to speak to someone professionally. She was very rude with me. Ive been coming here for 2yrs........and thats 2yrs I cant get back. Today is THE LAST time I will be going to this place.Oh, and for everyone else, Affordable Vet Clinic is GREAT!!!!
These people are very friendly and know what theyre doing and they take care of my animals and I just love each one of them and theyre so caring and kind I had lost a cat and they put them down for me and they put the remains in a bag + put a heart and a paw print on the bag which was very special to me at the time theyre just the best.
Very friendly. Super sweet to my boy Chicoπ
I have been going to Edgewater Animal Hospital for over 18 years. Dr. Bowen has helped me through several dire emergencies and the loss of my first dog. He and his staff are caring and compassionate and put the welfare of the animal first. They have always been very sensitive about the financial end of things, carefully explaining my options and different courses of treatment and relating the costs of each. I dont know how expensive they are compared to other vets but with the level of care I have received for my animals I have never even considered going elsewhere.
Very friendly staff. Treated our cat with tender loving care.
They took great care of our Ronan, treatment was fast and very reasonable, I had expected big dollars and didnt see it on bill!π€£ Fantastic Vet and his staff friendly and pet lovers shining through and through!
They let my dog get away in the parking lot and I looked for him for 2 days what an ordeal
Iβve been sitting here for 40 mins and my dog still hasnβt been seen and I made an appointment. I still havenβt been seen at all she went to every other car except mines.
Good communication, nice staff, and competitive prices.
Hand to but my babygirl down and the vets were really professional and gave you options and work out a budget for you
BOARDINGI have never had a problem with the Vet Office until now. I boarded my dog the 15th of this month. When I got my dog back on the 18th Monday he was a disgusting mess. He looked like he was laying in urine and feces for at least 2 days. I couldnt believe that someone would hand a dog over to their owner smelling and looking like my dog did. I was so hurt. I know I didnt ask for a bath. But never did I think he would be handed back to like a dog in the wild. I brought him home it took me 2 days to get him back to normal. I think I will look for somewhere to board my dogchild. I now know cheaper is not better in my case.Asas Mom
Truly at my end with this vet. I bring 4 of my animals here, and when I first started about 2 or so years ago the friendliness and true love of animals was refreshing. Since however, the organization of the office has me so frustrated I have to change hospitals as I cannot efficiently give my pets the care they need. What brought me to EAH was my cat who had crystals in his urine, thus making it necessary for him to be on prescription cat food. Iβve asked on MULTIPLE occasions for a prescription as petsmart or an online ordering service would be the most convenient as I work long hours and EAH is so far out of my way. I continued to feel bullied into not getting a written prescription as if the doctors were either not there or much too busy to write one out for me. So many times I needed trifexis I would be told to bring my animal in to prove a passed heartworm test bc their files would not prove trifexis was given, when sample packs were given to me but not recorded on file. At one point they lost my cats ENTIRE FILE and said I needed to bring him back in for an exam (hundreds of dollars) for something he has already done but again they had no record of. I feel like I am constantly doing all the backend back office work to prove my pets are legitimate in their needs and EAHs response is always βoh our bad lolβ. Iβm finally done. Sweet team. Loves animals. Office needs some serious organization. Giving my pets the care they need should not have me running around with my head cut off. Taking my 4 patients and going elsewhere.
Edgewater Animal Hospital has been in business under Dr. Gary Bowen since the early 1980s. I have never met a more CARING vet. He takes his time with each client to explain whats wrong w/ the pet, and treats everyone like a friend. Dr. Bowen loves his job. He has built relationships with the owners who have brought their pet to him from the first day they got him or her until the day Dr. Bowen has had to put them to sleep; after getting to know this family over the pets entire lifespan. I have worked here for going in 3 years and i have LOVED coming in to work 99% of the time...(everyone can have an off day..π) I love hearing the stories from owners who have come to see him with each pet, they speak so lovingly & with true compassion for him. As a part of his staff, i can tell you some days can be a bit hectic., but on a whole, we function like a family!! I hope to be here for many years to come!!!
My puppy is having seizures. I took her there for her puppy shots. They killed her
Wow, what a good run its been! I started visiting Edgewater Animal Hospital in 2001 when I moved to Orlando. Dr. Bowen, and later, Dr. Liro too, along with the caring staff- several of whom have worked there for many years, helped take care of my 3-cat family. Dr. Bowen, Dr. Liro, and the amazing staff are compassionate and wonderful. I said goodbye to my last cat in February of this year (2018). They lived to 17, 18, and 19 years old, with much thanks to the veterinary care they received for the last 17 years here. Im going to miss Dr. Bowen and all the familiar faces there as much as I miss my cat family.
Assistance were helpful and caring while our first visit
Excellent pet care Staff Very Caring
Awesome experience with a great pet care association like Dr. Bowen, Dr. LIRO and their care staff. Our puppy, Buddy Goodman was literally on his death bed. But GOD, whos always in control used the Drs. EXPERIENCE - PRAYERS to bring Buddys, liver & blood condition back to normal functioning. Yes, thanks to Edgewater Animal Hospital and its easy location, Buddy is alive, healthy, loved and happy as a puppy gone to pet heaven. . Thanx DR.BOWEN,DR LIRO
Always a pleasure to deal with the friendly helpful staff!!
Great staff. Took my cat to get fixed and had a good experience.
Dr. Liro quite clearly has no idea what shes talking about. She doesnt listen to her patients handlers and thinks whatever we said was just flat out wrong. She sent us home with our dog who is very sick and said we should just neuter him.
Meds for flea preventive care seem a bit high.
They suck...plain&simplePlain&s
The Veterinarian was helpful and so were the employees. Will continue to take our dog there.
Very helpful
The staff was very knowledgeable and caring. I am totally happy with Edgewater Animal Hospital.
Not happy with them. Will never go back.
Wonderful and caring staff.
They are always great with my animals.
Its close convenience and prices are affordable
One of the most unprofessional experiences Ive had with any vet
Friendly and fast service
