Our cat Yang had a medical emergency. These wonderful people helped him and saved his life in our time of crisis. Thank you again for your great care and compassion for our fur baby π If it werenβt for you he wouldnβt be here with us today. Heβs back to being his care free and spunky self. Yang says thank you again too πΎ ππββ¬ Kudos to you for staying strong in such a high stress job and time in peopleβs lives. Losing animals is extremely hard and I know sometimes itβs taken out on the people who did their best to help them. You get the sickest of the sick being an ER for animals and unfortunately they all canβt be saved like weβd like. So thanks again for sometimes a thankless job π€ I see all your hard work.
The staff here is unprofessional & have zero sympathy. Receptionist sound annoyed to answer your call & their attitudes arenβt any better when you get there & their tending to you. Not to mention, THEY ARE EXTREMELY OVER PRICED!!! Do yourself a favor & bring your pets to a different vet!
A few weeks ago I had brought my dog in because he was attacked and had his throat bit open. He was covered in blood, shaking and in shock plus constantly bleeding and they told me a 4 HOUR WAIT!I was in shock as he was actively bleeding as a tech barely took a look trying to say it wasnt that bad yet other people in the waiting area sat there shock at the look of him when we came in and also asked more questions of concern than the staff did.Took him to another ER with the same wait time but as soon as they saw him got him right in because he had something punctured in his neck plus gaping holes from the dog that attacked him. I was mortified at the lack of concern they had for him and reading the other reviews Iβm definitely not the only one who feels this way.
Do not go here.We waited over 5 hours to be seen. I asked for water for my dog and was denied. No one bothered to check on us while waiting or even ask why we were there. The receptionist version of saying hello was yes?, this was only after she was done with her conversation of course. The receptionist staff had their masks out and were none stop snacking. The vet staff should be embarrassed of those that handle the front of house.Everything being done behind close doors is shady and suspicious. Theres no way for us to verify even what care she was actually given. Had the receptionist staff been more professional perhaps Id be less concerned. But if the vet and vet assistants are anything like what is up front this is just a big scam.Go somewhere, anywhere else.
I couldnβt bring myself to write this review for a while but I would recommend to stay away from this place. We brought my lab nala in to be seen about what we suspected to be a snake bite (we didnβt see her get bit but had a very strong inkling based on her condition). If you know anything about snake bites, timeliness is critical to survival. The vet insisted it was not a snake bite and put her behind βmore urgent cases.β Long story short, she tested positive for rattlesnake venom after she waited 3+ hours to be seen and passed away that night. It still hurts to think about the pain she mustβve been in as she waited and slowly died. She deserved so much better.
Do not bring your pet here. Absolutely horrible. Horrible staff, horrible communication, zero empathy, and somehow have the longest waits when all they are interested in is getting you out the door. Take your pets elsewhere, we rushed our cat here last night with problems breathing and I really wish we took her elsewhere. They couldnβt even place an IV right and the poor kitty has blood all over her leg.
HORRIBLE PLACE! DO NOT GO HERE! They only care about money and will not properly care for your pet. They almost killed my cat from neglect and charged us way more than what was necessary. This place needs to be shut down.
Quick, friendly service. Took great care of our dogs emergency needs. Thanks
Iβve stayed quiet the past few days because itβs been so difficult to witness and share the pain my son is feeling. Honestly, Iβve been trying to process the neglect and lack of compassion demonstrated by the VEC on Lake Underhill. My son did everything he could to save his dog. I donβt think Iβve ever seen someone love their dog as much. The veterinarian that seen her was not looking out for her interest. I hope nobody ever takes their animal to this office. They are charging my son $999 after he informed him that he only had $1,000 that he could possibly spend. They sent her home to suffer to death! She was only home 15 minutes before going into shock and suffocating!! The paperwork they sent home showed that she had Sespis. They told him she was stabilizing and would be ok. In respect and care for the animal they should have offered to put her to sleepβ¦ but that wouldnβt have benefited their pockets. My heart is broken at the way they treated my son and his dog. If you have an animal, PLEASE do not take them to this place. We plan to seek another vet for their opinion on how this was handled and somehow seek justice for our dog. IF WE COULD GIVE NO STARS, WE WOULD!
They first told me there was no wait and then when I go there we had to wait 1.5 hours just to get into the room. Then after a quick talk the took my puppy to the back and said they were just weighing and checking temp. He didnt come back for an hour. No one said he wasnt coming back. Terrible communication. My dog is scared of vets and they made it worse. I get that they want to limit worker and customer time together for covid but then dont take my dog until youre ready. Terrible customer service. Scared my dog. Go to Oviedo if you can.
They have absolutely no empathy for the animals that come into their care. They are not a 24 hour clinic, so we had to rush out to get our dog to another center that could offer 24 hour care. We were not told there was an outstanding bill and given our dog. They said they would email our records. When I never received them to forward to the ER we were taking her to, they said they did not send the records because we didnβt pay our $95 bill! A bill that the receptionist said we could get back to them on once we figured out where we were taking her. How dare they risk my dogβs life for a $95 bill?!? And when I called obviously hysterical that I had not received the records to give my pup the care she needed, the receptionist said that she was not going to deal with me being so hysterical and put me on a 15 minute hold. These people are straight evil.
Negative stars if I could. SLOW and poor customer service. Staff is inefficient and only one single doctor vet is certainly overloaded in emergencies. They kept pushing my dog waiting time from 6PM to 9pm then 12am until the next day at 6AM as they had other pets in more critical state. If I knew it Iβd take my pet to another place and requested my money back (a hefty deposit was required). They took advantage of our fragile situation with overpriced services. Horrible feeling of having your dog hostage. Not only that, the surgery was not well executed and my dog got sick again and the vet doctor, in a rude attitude told us βIβm busy now. I canβt deal with your dramaβ. Needless to say we are never going back at this place again. We took our dog to redo the surgery at another emergency veterinary clinic in Oviedo (great reviews and they charged me less for the same surgery and they have an amazing and quick and polite staff. Veterinarians are communicating with me all the way - I wish I knew them before)
The vet tech Adriana was so kind and thorough in helping me figure out how to treat my dog with an upset stomach and a problem taking pills. The rest of the staff was also very nice and helpful.
Receptionists, techs and Dr were very kind and knowledgeable. They helped us when we had to put our dog to sleep. Took the time to explain the alternatives and long term ramifications and probabilities to ensure we were making the best decision for our pet. Again very kind, gentle and reassuring during a very difficult time.
We had to make the difficult decision to say goodbye to our Boston Terrier, Zac today. Dr. Kwiatkowski was amazing! She was very knowledgeable, honest, and compassionate. Our experience with the other staff was positive as well. In the past we have waited hours to be seen by a vet there, but thankfully that was not the case today.
The doctors (curly hair) were very caring and gentle knowing that this was a very difficult time for my family. As for the male at the front desk he was emotionless and not helpful. He seemed as if he didnβt know how to help in times like this and maybe needs to be put in a different area until he learns to be caring for familyβs going threw such a difficult time. After my dog had passed, I asked him for assistance on what do we do next and he stood standing saying no words, until I asked for the doctor to come help instead.
This place killed my cat!!! Stay away!I took my cat here after her spay surgery, she was not eating and her breathing was off. She was kept overnight for oxygen and observation. At 1 am I received a call from the vet that my cat was getting worse and they thought it was heart disease. The next day they transfer her to my regular doctor with oxygen and after he does x-rays and blood work, she was diagnosed with aspiration pneumonia. He started treatment and she was looking a lot better. She was sent back to this place to continue treatment because she was not ready to be off oxygen. Back at this place my cat started to get worse and lethargy because they refuse to give her IV fluids, I receive a call on Saturday at 7 pm that my cat turn for the worse and see seems ready to pass. I ask them several time to start IV fluid because she was severely dehydrated and they refuse. No animal can survive without water for so long or even get stronger. She was giving a bowl with water and she would try to get water but didnβt have the strength and lay her head on the bowl π’ With my hands tight and no other vet options due to been on weekend we had to put her down because they didnβt want to continue my vet treatment.AND not to mention the unprofessional staff, as she is walking in with euthanasia paper, she was laughing walking in the door.My baby was a perfect healthy cat and they let her die. If you can avoid this place, do so at ALL COST.
Worse place to take your pet on an emergency, since the beginning, bad attention, my dogs examination was inexistent, they just took her outside to see if they can get her to urinate, without telling us, and without prior authorization, and almost lost her by the fault of an inexperienced assistant who let my dog run away without even having her collar, because they took it away for no reason, and they didnt even apologize for the incident that put me and my wife like crazy at 2am chasing our dog running loose in the parking lot. Just to tell us after that to go out with our pet to try to collect a sample and return, in order to wait for another hour while they process the sample, all of this after the 2 and a half hours we spent wait just to get attention, ending or journey with a toll of 4hours in the place for a diagnosis of I think its probably a urinate infection and a take this while you get her to the primary veterinary and no sorry for let her escape, and not sorry for the long wait for an I think solution.Seriously if you have an emergency, drive the extra mile to take your pet to other place. You wont find the correct attention for your beloved pet in this hell of a place.BTW I think is not cheap. The guessing of a diagnosis cost around 200$. Looking online probably will be more accurate and less stressful and frustrating for your pet and for you.P.S; little shop of horror. You only hear dogs screaming and people crying.
I am only giving them 1 star because you have to give at least 1 to get in and review this awful god forsaken what they call Animal ER hospital. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE IF YOU CAN. the most unprofessional, uncaring staff I have ever experienced. My little 4 pound Maltese was malled by a pit bull had an opened wound that was bleeding and a huge bump formed on her underside. She was in pain and we explained that. They told us to have sit, fill out some paperwork and when a room became available they would call us. So far I have been here for 3 hours. I have seen about 3 cats go back to see the vet because they were yelping. They have one vet taking care of everyone. Not one person has come out to see what was wrong with my baby. Completely unacceptable. Not even humans go through this. Oh and I almost forgot, they spent 30 minutes talking to an old lady that brought her cat in that had just delivered babies. But they couldnβt take more serious patients. I. WILL NEVER COME HERE AGAIN.
Sadly we had to put our beloved cat down and brought him home to get buried in our backyard.. about 2 weeks later we get a envelope from them.. and I just want to say it touched my heart.. it was a card and everyone signed it.. made me tear up thatβs the sweetest thing you all did!! And all of you are really good with what you do.. I highly recommend this veterinarian e.r. Thank you very much I know you guys tried
We had to unexpectedly put down our family dog and the staff had no bedside manner. As we were saying goodbye, we were interrupted and told βyou know you canβt all be here, some of you need to get outβ. Itβs obviously a difficult time and all we wanted was to spend a moment to say our goodbyes. Policies are policies and will be respected. Just say things with more tact, specially to a family who is going through such a rough moment. 0/5 stars.
I called the office at 6 on the dot and explained my dog had eaten a chicken bone and was bleeding when trying to use the bathroom. The staff said bring him in, this is an emergency situation. We get there at 6:30 and the staff tells us there is already a 2 hour wait(they open at 6, when I called). No problem, we sit in the parking lot and wait. After 2 hours we go in to check on how much longer and the staff says βwe actually skipped you 3 times because other dogs were more emergent.β This is FINE, but no one called to let us know our wait time would be pushed back, or anything but we were assured we would be next. after another hour of waiting - itβs now 10:30 - with no call we go back in again to find out βit will still be another 2 hours, you can come back tomorrow thoughβ. If this was not a super serious situation I would have been fine with waiting. But to leave someone waiting for a total of 4 hours outside with their dog that the staff claimed couldnβt wait for tomorrow when I initially called is extremely unprofessional.
Took 5 hours to actually see the doctor to then find out my dog was in critical condition and needed immediate care. There are other emergency vets in the Orlando area...definitely look elsewhere!
Youre better of praying than bringing your animal here. Stay away at all costs.
All I can say is if you need an emergency vet...this is the place!!! Dr. Foster and her tech, isabelle were so sweet and informative. When our pup was diagnosed with advanced heart disease I was a wreck, but they made sure that I had a plan and took care of my baby. Thank you guys so so much!!!
Brought in my baby for a Bee Sting and she never made it out of this Vet emergency clinic. We brought her in right away and for hours couldnt get a response to what washappening one minute they said one thing to later come back with another issue when we kept insisting something stung her. 4 to 5 hours later she died. I know there is nothing to bring my baby back however I have this feeling in my heart that tells me my baby didnt have to die that night. She was only 5 years old and now we live with the pain of this loss. -$1700.00 poorer for 5 hours of attention, my 5 year old furbaby gone, was told she is receiving her meds well just to be told 30 minutes later she didnt make it with no real reason knowing how she died. Now we mourn the loss of our baby wondering wth happened. Tell me where is the justice here?
I have had to bring my corgi in twice since new years for random high fevers. Going to the emergency clinic is super scary and stressful, but my experience so far has been great. The staff is super helpful and the Dr we saw sat down and went over everything to help my girl feel better and to get her to a point to be sent home where she would be comfortable. And a big, BIG shoutout to tech Adriana for being so great and sweet with us. She took her time with me to make sure she had all the notes and history for my dog and she showed she sincerely cared. I hope we dont have to go back to the EC, but I feel better knowing this facility will take care of my dog if we have to make another trip in the future.
One of our cats was acting funny and we were worried about waiting until Monday to take her to the vet. We got here around 12:30 AM and they were very upfront with us that they had just started a surgery and it would be a 2-3 hour wait and that they thought it was possible to wait until Monday but advised us sheβd be in pain so we decided to wait. They checked her in and took her back, I asked if we could go take a nap in the car and have them call us when she was good to go, they were accommodating and all said we were out around 3:30 AM. Itβs the next morning and our cat is back to normal and very happy.
My dog was released from this ER in critical condition, he was severely dehydrated and lethargic after severe vomiting and diarrhea. We arrived at 4:30am and IV fluids were administered but nothing more was done, no x-rays to see why my dog was so sick. 3 hours later when they were preparing to close I was informed that theyd be releasing my critically ill dog and I would have to contact his regular vet to follow up. He was still lethargic and critical, who would discharge an animal that sick without an IV to continue fluids? This place was the beginning of the worse day of my life as my dog ended up passing away around 12pm. If they had been more capable of treating my dog with x-rays and/or us keeping IV my dog may have lived. He had a foreign object in his stomach that could have easily been detected if they had just taken an x-ray to find the source of him being so sick. Im heartbroken and livid, he was a healthy, happy dog before this. This was an obvious case of neglect!! BEWARE!
HORRIBLE from beginning to end!!! 1st the Nurse was arrogant and didnt listen thus causing an exam to be missed. 2nd the veterinarian did not examine the area in question and had to be shown. (See 1st comment) 3rd medical records of examination was incomplete (how do you not record meds given)...totally unprofessional...DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE!!!
After a poor care plan was implemented on our 16 year old cat, we found ourselves seeking emergency medical aid for her. Luckily we found this clinic. The staff was very helpful and kind. We lost our precious girl due to heart failure brought on by fluids administered from the previous vet. They were very helpful to us through the process. Our family is very grateful for their kindness and empathy.
Words cant express the gratitude for compassion and sweetness expressed by dr. Hamilton and all their wonderful staff when we brought in our little royal shitzu Sassy on Dec 26 close to midnight who had to be put down (died in my arms) due to failed health at an old age. The grim tests were fast and professional. I will always cherish the sympathy card together with her paw print as long as live. Warm wishes and kind regards to all. πΊ
Horrible customer service. Sat outside for over 4 hours. With NO info about our pet. Had to call sat on hold for over 20 minutes while waiting in car for 4,just to hear the vet tech say pets are dying all over the place. Those get seen first. I guess they make you wait until your pet is actively dying, then they will see them. Find another emergency clinic.
I took my one year old Frenchie to this hospital, he had surgery on Friday at my regular vet, today I took him in because he was bleeding out his nose, they said they stopped it, they didnt, still bleeding, having a hard time breathing, and sent him home with blood clotting meds and sedatives, the front staff was nice to me but short and too the point, they see you as dollar signs not a person, my dog very well may die and they just sent him home like this and charged me all that
We were so well taken care of at this Emergency Clinic when we brought our dog in distress during the late hours of the day. The Vet especially was so kind and understanding and made the whole process of putting her down as seamless as possible. I am so grateful for the compassionate care that we received here as it has made all the difference. Thank you again.
I arrived at the clinic at noon signed in and was told to go back to the truck and wait and My dog would be seen soon. After two hours of waiting I went back to the front desk to ask what was taking so long, I was told I had two people ahead of me and I would be next. Here comes the fourth hour where I went back in to ask if I was going to be seen soon and ask for some water for my dog. At around 415 I was brought into a room where a tech came in to ask me what was going on with my dog. She took my dog to the back and told me that the doctor would be talking to me shortly after examining her. After an hour and a half in the room I picked out to ask them to please talk to the doctor and find out when I was going to be contacted about my dog. Again I was told there was one person ahead of me to be talked to and then I would be next. Well after three hours of sitting in there and me going to the front desk and demanding somebody to come see me I was told that I had to wait because it was shift change. The doctor that supposedly looked at my dog was not the doctor that came to me and talk to me. I explain to the new doctor for the night shift that it was unacceptable and that if they wouldβve just communicated this wouldnβt have been such a bad wait . My poor dog was stuck in a cage for three hours and when they brought her back to me she had urine all over the back end of her and they proceeded to ask me if I could take her outside to go urinate and try and catch it in a bowl because they couldnβt get any from her. I wonβt go into the details but they got a piece of my mind and of course they couldnβt get a urine sample because she had urinated all over her self in the cage. The anxiety and stress they caused on both me and my poor dog was unacceptable. I will say the doctor that came on for the night shift was very prompt in helping me and my dog And unfortunately she had to deal with not only me but a lot of other angry people in there today due to their lack of communication!
**BEWARE** stay away!!!! Crooks! They take advantage that there is no regular veteran hospitals open on nights and weekends. $1000.00 for a cut on my dogs leg. Only broke the skin so just needed a few staples. They know we dont have any other choices to treat our beloved pets. They should be ashamed of themselves. Also 6+ hours wait. Avoid this place at all costs!! They only care about money. They do not care about helping animals. I am not giving a one star review. I am giving them a negative -10
This place does not care about your animals. They are only out for your money. Do not bring your pet there they will bill you for test they never ran.
My 13 year old yorkie passed away suddenly over the weekend. I was able to call this facility and get information about pet Angels. When I brought her remains in the staff was so friendly and courteous. I got a chance to say goodbye and they gave me all of the information I would need. I even received a card signed by their staff with condolences in the mail. Throughout this difficult experience I can definitely say that I would recommend this facility for any post-mortem needs you may have for your pet.
Awful treatment by technician no compassion rude no sympathy no caring for my dog or myself, more concerned with his bloated stomach as fat or his condition illnesses or him being stressed and being left alone. My dig died less than 2 days later.
I cannot express how kind and considerate this clinic is. They gave me advice and such peace of mind. Highly recommend if you ever need an ER vet.
Since the day I lost my dog Canelo, our beagle of only 4 years old.I have not been able to express the sorrow and sadness, crying every day, On October 11, my son an I took our beagle here, because his vet was closed on a Sunday..He woke up with trowing up badly, when I took him, I spoke with the nurse and she said, they needed to do test on him, ok, no problem, well, it came out to that he had pancreatitis, but that he will be fine, in observation overnight, they will give him, Iv and meds, and giving me a bill of $1900.00 dollars, and that if we dont hear from them, all is fine, that was 2:00 p.m. well I called at 7pm, just to follow up, she said, his signs were good and that he was still liturgic, and that he will be fine, well my son, called at 11:00 P.M. to follow up on our dear Canelo.. well, they said oh, he is fine... 5 minutes later, they called to tell my son, he passed away.... I went into a shock, my son had to take his father, both crying to this horrible facility to say their last good buys to our beloved canelo.. When I called the next day, asking, questioning, I spoke with the manager, Jose, he said, well you could still do an autopsy, because he is still in the freezer.. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR BELOVED DOG TO THIS PLACE EVER.. WHEN I CALLED THE VET THAT WE ALWAYS USE, SHE WAS IN SHOCK OF THE PASSING OF OUR BEAGLE, SHE TOLD ME I DONT UNDERSTAND RENEE, HE WAS FINE LAST MONTH, SHE COULDNT BELIEVE WHAT HAPPENED.. THESE PLACE IS INHUMANE, NO KIDNESS, ALL ABOUT MONEY AND NO SYMPHATHY THRU THIS DAY, WE CRY EVERYDAY FOR OUR CANELO.Like
This is my 2nd time at this emergency vet and the women in there are phenomenal. Both times, they gave me good advice to help me with my dog and didnβt charge me for taking a quick look at him. They are so sweet, fast and comforted us when we were worried for our pup. Highly recommend if you have to bring your pet in for an emergency.
The night my kitty Stella passed away I had no idea what to do. I took her here and I could not have asked for a nicer experience. Every staff member I met was so gentle and so kind. They did not judge or rush me, and they knew exactly what to do. I am so so so grateful for this place and I owe a lot to them. I fully recommend trusting them with your babies!!!
My puppy Mel was very sick and it was the first time that she got sick like that and we needed to go to a emergency clinic. We found that she is diabetic and everything changed for us. She almost die because she had pancreatitis too. It was the worst time for us! Doctor T Starek is an angel! She fought for Mel and for us, to make her health again. I will never forget how wonderful she was if us (Im writing this with eyes full of tears and with a heart full of gratitude), she is super special! The supervising nurse Jen is super sweet too, I was desperate, sitting on the floor and she sat with me on the floor and explained every detail of the treatment that would be done with Mel. Details like that I will never forget. Doctor J Hamilton is wonderful! She took a great care of Sushi and Mel and Im so glad for that! Their team are great and kind! Veterinary Emergency Clinic of Central Florida in Waterford Lake is great! We recommend it!
Followed Covid safety protocols extremely well. Diagnosed an area of swelling in our dogs neck and simply told us it was an allergic reaction that can be treated with Benadryl. They were 100% correct, and didnt try to overcharge is for anything unnecessary. Will definitely come back here next time.
I never wanted to find myself here, but Im so glad this clinic was available to help us early this morning when my dog had multiple episodes of bloody vomit. He was seen and treated right away, and the staff was very kind and gentle with him. They were transparent with pricing prior to rendering services. The vet and nurse explained everything clearly. VEC promptly sent his records to our regular vet, who we will follow up with for the rest of his treatment. THANK YOU for taking care of my sweet boy.
Just had a minor scare at 3 a.m. (only place open for miles) they took my dog in promptly, no questions asked and immediately did their best to assess him. Heather and Isabel were so good to us! Thankfully it was just a scare but I would definitely return as needed!
Our 11 yrs old dog got sick from the kidneys and pancreas, we tried everything but never recovered, he was agonizing and xisibly in pain. We went to this clinic to euthanize him, to stop his suffering, they were kind, compassionate, caring and they explain in details the process, it was our first time on this, and they gave us so much love and understanding that I dont have enough words of gratitude. I highly recommend this place.
My dog is 12 years old, which means I have 12 years of vet visits under my sleeve. This was without a doubt the best care that Iβve received both for my dog and my state of mind. Our doctor was very patient with our questions and gentle with my old boy. She eased my stress from taking care of a dog in his old age and assured me he can still be a happy pup! Your babies are in good hands here.
My wife and I recently visited VEC Waterford Lakes for an emergency with our 10 year old German Shepherd Gunner. He had been battling some health issues for about a year and had a sudden severe episode. The staff were exceptional from the minute we walked in the door. Professional, knowledgeable and empathetic from the receptionist Deborah to Dr. Pam and her assistant Erica. Unfortunately we had to put Gunner down but Dr. Pam and her staff made the process as smooth as one could expect. I have been in the business for a long time as a vet tech and animal shelter director and would highly recommend the Veterinary Emergency Clinic of Central Florida.
Tonight our 18 year old Ragdoll cat took a sudden turn and we had to make the difficult decision to let her go. The Dr. and Staff here were kind, compassionate and understanding. They allowed us whatever time we needed to say our goodbyes, explained the process clearly and tenderly and ushered our sweet girl to her final rest. They were wonderful and I would highly recommend this facility to any family faced with an emergent situation with their pet. Thank you for the kindness you showed our family and the compassion you expressed to Diva.
Iβve come here twice with my dog and had to wait hours among HOURS both times...
They took the best possible care of my sweet kitty. They were compassionate, efficient and came in under their initial quote. Its heartbreaking to lose a pet, but this clinic handled it as well as could be managed.
Dr Pam and the team were so helpful during our emergency visit and kept us very informed throughout the whole process. There were no surprises and we were in and out very quickly.
Theyβre terrible!!!! Disrespectful!!!! Unprofessional!!!!!
Went here at almost 11pm on a Sunday night before a holiday when Dorian was coming. Within 2 hours my dog was stitched up. The bill was half of what I expected it to be and the staff was super friendly. Originally went to the Casselberry location and the wait was super long. Impressed and two days later my dogs stitches look great.
Our dog had major surgery from our ver to remove a cyst from her back side. She ended up ripping her stitches out and we took her to this emergency clinic. The first time they were great, they wrapped the opening and gave her medicine and told us to bring her back the next day to change out her gauzes and to wrap her again. So we went back the next day and dealt with a different doctor. He didnβt want to help arguing with my wife, he didnβt listen to my wife on what we wanted done. He put our dog in more pain and charged us $96 dollars. 2 hours later the wrapping was coming apart and the gauzes fell out. We ended up reapplying everything ourselves. Thanks for nothing. If you care about your pet please do not go here.
This place was a life saver for my dog Ranger.. they took very good care of him after surgery overnight..I couldnt be more grateful!! Thank you so much!!
It can be scary when your pet has an emergency. My little dog Rufus accidentally ingested some medication. He started to have some serious adverse effects. We took him here to the lake Underhill and rouse location. The staff there was so friendly and understanding especially the doctor Starek. She was very empathic to the situation. I would highly advise if your pet has an emergency to take them here. They are hands down one of the best vets Ive just been to in general. Rufus is now better and sound asleep. No words can describe how thankful we are. Just be mindful it is an emergency vet and it can be kind of costly but its totally worth it when it comes to your fur baby! π no words for how much gratitude I have for this vet!!!!
They saved my pupper!
Had to take my dog for an emergency and was immediately greeted and ushered into a room. Staff was so respectful and kind. We were in and out in under an hour couldnβt have been happier !
Dog had emergency surgery there due to what they told me was blockage (dog had not been eating/drinking, vomiting). Didnβt do any bloodwork. Turned out no blockage, put my dog through expensive & painful surgery for nothing. ($2500)
In our hardest time, as is a hard time for many families, we lost our most loyal, faithful family member Chiko due to cancer. There comes a certain stigma with pitbulls and certain veterenary locations take heed and fear when coming across them... not this place... not only did they make special Accommodations for us such a trivial time due to the coronavirus... they treated our Chiko like one of their own... and while unfortunately they have to do the hardest task in the world of laying our dog to rest via injection, the vegerenary heroes wept with us. They shared our tears and they made us as comfortable and ready and reassured us a million times that not only would Chiko be peacefully laid to rest, but it was the right thing to do. About a week later we recieve a card in the mail from the place sharing their grievances and letting us know that they care and are very sorry for our loss. This place cares. We loved them. As they loved us and they loved Chiko.
Nice staff. Good first impression. Easy in, easy out. So far so good.
The staff here is phenomenal! The care for my dog was at the highest level and they did a wonderful job giving her the surgery that she needed. I was able to them on Sunday morning and have my baby back by the evening. Did I mention they are open 24 hours on the weekend. I would like to thank the staff and Dr. Perreault for their kindness and support all the way through. 5 stars all the way. Wish they were always my primary vet.
Last night I had to put down my sweet girl, Brownie.Dr. Starck and her team were very kind and patient with us. Each step was explained to me by the vet tech and Dr. Starck and l was allowed to stay with my girl thru the entire process. They understand a dog is not just a pet, but family. Thanks to them my girl is at peace and knowing I was by her side til the end.
Extremely long wait arrived at 4:10pm and at 6:13pm still havent seen anyone. Waited in the car for 1 hr 45mins before they even called us to come inside. While my dog is whinning in pain. But yet I hear people that came in after me that is taken straight to a room and hear someone actually taking to them.. I will NEVER come here again in an emergency I will drive an hour somewhere else where I know we will at least have communication and see someone within 2 hours.
Our sweet Fabio got hit by a car on a Sunday, so our usual vet wasnβt an option. Kelly, the vet tech, was absolutely amazing at keeping us updated and even brought us a picture of him to show us he was doing okay. Probably the most compassionate person Iβve ever met. Dr. Kathir was very thorough in telling us what to look out for in the upcoming days as he goes through the healing process. I would absolutely recommend this place if you have a fur baby emergency when their usual vet isnβt available. Happy to say our little man is doing fine and out of pain thanks to them!
I took my 2-year-old lap dog because she was vomiting for 3 days. They left her hospitalized for 12 hours, they repeated rx, they said that she had small fragments of bone, but that she had no obstruction, they wanted me to leave her for another day to have her under observation . If I had not made the decision to get her out of there and take her to another place, my dog ββwould have died because she had an obstruction due to a toy she had eaten, the bill was exaggerated and all they did was give her medicine for vomiting. Please donβt take your pet to this place.
They took amazing care of our sweet new puppy thanks to them she is doing much better. Wonderful staff and vet very knowledgeable
I took my dog here when his back legs stopped working all of a sudden. He hurt his back and Becky (the front desk lady) was the sweetest. She answered all of my questions and made sure he was taken back right away. The facility is clean the room was clean and the doctor came in to talk to me she explained everything so I understood what was happening and answered all of my questions. In my opinion the price was pretty reasonable even for coming in at 1am. I will absolutely use them again God forbid another emergency happened.
My 8 pound dog got attacked by a stray dog around 11am and I rushed here and the minute I walked in I felt they were going to take care of my dog, from how helpful the receptionist was, βtill the veterinariansβ assistants, everything went well and my dog is now recovering and well. The staff is very friendly and make you feel comfortable and calm about the situation. I definitely recommend this place. Other nearby spots will literally overcharge you because they see you stressed and worried about your pet so they take advantage. Not here.
Wonderful people here! I just dont agree with the people on here complaining. Emergency situations are never simple, hence them being called emergencies! With me being completely distraught, the staff paid extra attention and really took care of me and my best friend. I felt like they genuinely cared and wanted to make him all better so we could go home. The story: I had to go here in the middle of the night when my 14 yr old dog started having difficulty breathing. He had been to his regular vet four days earlier and was diagnosed with bronchitis. His normal vet took some blood for tests and sent him home with antibiotics. He continued a downward spiral the next couple of days and then without warning his breathing got very erratic. I thought he was going to die for I got him to the vet. Unfortunately a rather large mass was discovered and it was pinching off his airway; there was nothing we could do for him.The staff was incredibly sympathetic to me yet remained professional, polite, patient and supportive while I said my goodbyes to my best friend. I wouldve been much worse off had they not been all these things.Thank you for helping me through one of the worst days of my life. I will always be thankful you were there when I needed it most!
Kind, Caring, Patient. Our experience with all of the woman at this vets off with our dog was 10 stars in our book. We cannot thank them enough.
My dog got attacked by a larger dog and I rushed her to this vet. They were able to see her quickly, identify the problem and fix it (even though there was a strong potential for surgery) at a reasonable cost. The office even called one week later to notify me that they were issuing a refund due to a slight overcharge. The hours are great, and if I ever need an emergency vet (hopefully I wont!) I would not hesitate to return here. Thank you for taking care of my pup!!
Thank you so much for the kindness and professionalism shown to us during our loss. Every detail counts including the card we received in the mail. Mantis was the sweetest labrador retriever. We miss him every day.
I have read a lot of the negative reviews on here and I must say, I think you all are thinking of the wrong place! We have taken our Min Pin, Peanut, to this ER Vet TWICE and have never received anything less than a caring, awesome staff and awesome treatment. The 2nd time we even almost took him to the wrong animal hospital because GOOGLE SENT US TO THE WRONG LOCATION! It was still on Lake Underhill, but it was about 1/2 mile away!Im just saying, make sure you are attacking the right animal hospital because I have never heard or seen anything but kind, caring people the 2 times we went there in 1 year. Turns out my dog is a big wuss most of the time, but they didnt try doing any unnecessary tests on him, even though at that point they didnt know how much we could or could not afford! To the woman whose cat had the maggots and needed $6,000.00 of treatment (to which the hospital replied very politely that your pet was not seen there), Im sorry, but maggots are not very small... I feel that if your pet needed $6000 worth of treatment for something like maggots, it is not the hospitals fault, regardless of which one you took it to, for your beloved pet passing. Maggots are not small creatures like lice are.... perhaps if you had taken it to the vet much sooner it would not have been that bad.Im sorry, just dont want an awesome ER Vet going down because people dont know how to use Google!!!!!!!
I brought a pet that belonged to a friend of mine here for emergency care after our veterinarian closed for the day. The staff and Dr. Were incredibly kind and great at what they do. Emergency care is never cheap. But your human er isnt no usually cheap either once you get copays and such. These people that work in the field spend precious hours watching over your furbabies. So before you go anywhere else, if you are close enough, go to the Waterford lakes location.
So happy about this Veterinary Emergency Clinic, after hours or if your vet cant get your dog, this places is the best option. Professional an amazing service and pretty affordable. Thank you for taking care of my fur baby.
Came in at around midnight. My poor dog had a back injury but took great care of her and got us in quickly. The price was VERY reasonable for an emergency vet clinic. The doctor and staff were so kind and pacient and answered all of our questions.
My two dogs decided to fight this one morningand our little one was injured. Despite the fact that this place is only a 3 π star, the whole staff was professional and very courteous. The only pet peeve I have is that we saw the vet once when she examined my dog before surgery and we never saw her again. However she did a great job. We paid less than what was estimated and my dog is home recovering. Thank you guys for a job well done.
I had to bring my beloved cat here on Sunday when he was very obviously ill. The entire staff was incredibly kind and helpful. Unfortunately, my cat had liver failure from a diazepam prescription he had received from our vet following a urinary blockage. They did what they could, but my poor baby sadly had to be put to sleep in the wee hours of Monday morning. Although this was a horrible thing to go through, the vet, nurses and receptionists were all very compassionate and helpful, and I know they did everything they could to try to save my sweet boy. I am heartbroken over my loss, but deeply appreciate this place for everything they did, and the kindness they demonstrated.
So I came in to this place because my dog was attacked by another dog need some stitches spent two hours with him bleeding all over the floor while they were worried about money 1400 dollars was the estimate and wanted 700.00 for a deposit I only had 600.00 on me and could easily pay the remaining balance in the morning as it was late at night and got a check I needed to cash. they refused had me fill out some bs care credit application which I was declined for at this point they told us they wouldnt work with us and were sol my wife lost it and was told to leave oh but not before paying the 95.00 for the doctor looking at my dog i.e petting him I paid the 95.00 dollars and went to another emergency vet that actually cares about the animals and not dollar signs. I would recommend this place to no one because your animal will bleed out before they do anything to help and only if you have a gold card to pay for it Im a disabled veteran and I hope that they need someone the way my dog needed them last night . That 95.00 this poor excuse for a vet got out of me will be the last they ever get out of me and I will make it my life mission to tell everyone and every review place about it. To let an animal suffer because all you care about is money is a disgrace to the veterinary profession.
I was recommended this clinic from my family vet that was booked the day I had a UTI emergency with my cat. I had absolutely the worst service here and will never return. I was at the clinic for a total of 6 hours and found out towards the end of our visit that they hadnt even done the necessary tests on my cat until the last hour of my visit when I started getting impatient. I was visited by the doctor only once during this entire charade. I was not given any update on my pet throughout the entire process of this visit until I had started complaining. Half way through the visit I asked for an update and was told I would be given one, only to have the assistant never return to my room. When I had asked the receptionist if I could charge my phone in my car briefly while my cat was being serviced, she told me that I would be skipped by them if I didnt stay in my room. An hour later, I asked a separate receptionist again, and was told that it would be no problem. There is clearly poor communication throughout the office. They are disorganized and under staffed. I was quoted an initial price in the beginning of the visit, but by the time my cat was finally given back to me, that quote had doubled and they added on medication for symptoms my cat never had in the first place. Two weeks later, when my cat started having issues with the medication, I called and asked if I could be given a different version of the medicine. The same receptionist who had told me in my first visit that I would be skipped told me that I would need to bring my cat in again because I waited too long to contact them and should have contacted my family vet earlier. I explained to her that the issue with the medication had only just begun and that I didnt want to bring my cat in again because I was just there and didnt want to have another inconveniencing 6 hour visit. She got irritated with me and started arguing with me that she wasnt working that day that I had waited so long. Absolutely unacceptable customer service. I will never recommend this vet to anyone.
They took amazing care of our pup that needed to be rehydrated after a hike. Kept him overnight and called first thing in the morning to let us know we could take him home. Sent us home with all their notes of checking on him all night and all his lab results.
I was completely satisfied with this animal hospital. I found a homeless dog who was hurt. I brought her there and learned she was hit by a car and had a severely broken leg. The doctor could not operate on it since an orthopedic surgeon was required. This doctor, however, beautifully set and cast the leg until I could get a specialist. The staff was excellent. Their pricing was extremely reasonable considering the extent of the dogs injuries. I highly recommend this emergency vet hospitalKate
I dont normally write reviews-- except for outstanding and exceptional service. I brought my dog in (on Thanksgiving morning...) Dr. Jin and his technician, Jen, were extremely helpful, knowledgeable, professional, efficient, and comforting. The procedures and fees were thoroughly reviewed with me and options provided. The issues were discussed, assessments made, and we were taken care of with great compassion and concern. I cant speak highly enough of Dr. Jin and Jen- thank you!
My pregnant cat died a horribly painful death because this emergency vet wanted to negotiate treatment costs before doing anything. I could hear my cat meowing in pain while they showed me a list of services like I was buying a car. When I said I didnt have all the money up front, they had the nerve to leave, print out a different treatment menu then return with a cheaper price with many services withdrawn!! What the hell. It just gets worse. As my cats condition deteriorated, they returned yet again to ask if I authorize CPR. I couldnt believe what was being asked. I was in a state of shock. I asked if it would make her suffer more. Of course the vet gave a speech like it could go either way. Finally after going back and forth with questions it dawned on me that my cat was not being cared for and was suffering. Finally my indecision made the Vet leave to check on my girls condition and sure enough she was gone by then. Since this was an emergency vet, why would they think reviving my cat is negotiable? Especially with their education, they would know whats best and not me. So of course Im going to stall not knowing the facts. They relied solely on what I could afford in treating my 2 year old cat and that is a damn shame. Although this happened a few months ago, seeing similar negative reviews alarmed me enough to report my experience. This vet should lose her license. She wants money before a pets life and people need to be aware of it. Take your pet elsewhere if you want it to live.
Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Offered several options for treatment and aftercare of my cat. I am incredibly thankful for their fast, knowledgeable, and friendly service.
Top notch professionals who cared for our pup 2 nights in a row to help treat pancreatitis. Our baby recovered and is doing well. Thank you to the docs and staff here.
I have a senior cat with chronic health issues -- a history of hyperthyroidism which we cured using radioactive iodine therapy, and now later in life, IBS, high blood pressure, and kidney disease. I have been working with my regular vet for a long time to get her diet correct, to give her regular fluids, and now to monitor her kidney issues. This year she has been having chronic UTIs and I have had to visit this emergency vet several times (3-4 times) since around February.Ive followed up with my regular vet 2 times about this issue; have had a urinalysis done and have even been to a holistic vet for supplements. I intended to visit my regular vet again after the last occurrence of a UTI but I have not had the chance, due to financial constraints and the fact that I have to take off work to do so, which I expressed to the emergency staff, and it seemed to make them change their tune toward me.This vet office has been very kind up until this last visit, where a new vet I had not seen before almost refused to provide an antibiotic injection for her UTI, and finally only decided to provide antibiotics one last time until I bring proof Ive followed up with my regular vet, something they have never asked for before.I can almost understand this, but I was also lectured loudly for a long time and made very uncomfortable. I already understood the next course of action without the lecture, because believe it or not, my regular vet already explained it to me.To be honest, I dont trust that if I have to bring my cat in again, that they will provide her with emergency service that she needs. This vet instead tried to make me feel like an irresponsible pet owner, when she doesnt understand the full medical history of my cat or how active Ive been in my cats care -- because she isnt my regular vet. I left crying, hoping I never have to come back here.
Nice staff and facility but Ive been sitting in a room with my dog for over 1-1/2 hours and havent seen anybody except for the assistant. She came in one hour ago to tell me that it would only be a few more minutes. Still waiting and I guess that I will make a different choice next time.
The experience we had at this hospital was horrible. My teenage college student daughter adopted a kitten from OC Animal Services on Saturday September 29th. The kitten started acting lethargic 2 days later, so she brought the kitten to the vets office. They loved the kitten and gave her antibiotics for a respiratory infection. My daughter nursed the kitten for the day, that evening the kitten got worst so my daughter took the kitten to the emergency hospital. They took the kitten and said he it was dehydrated and critical. They came out with a bill for $611 to just run tests. Then there would be additional costs to treat. I phoned them and asked them to just start treating him for dehydration and run the most important blood work. They were very uncooperative and told us that to do that it would cost $800. No sympathy for my daughter--crying hysterically. While they continued to increase the fees, the kitten was suffering so we had the kitten gently put to sleep. We were charged $320 for that visit and left heartbroken. Very disappointed. Their bedside manner was horrible. This was a feral kitten that had been rescued and adopted to be given a new start and unfortunately lived a very short life. Very sad!!!!
Dr. Mirza and vet tech Melissa were knowledgeable, attentive, kind, and respectful to our dog and us. Because our dog, Lucy, was in pain and unable to move well, the doctor with assistance from the tech conducted the evaluation/examination gently and comprehensively from the floor. They listened to us as valuable source of information. Dr. Mirza thoroughly explained her findings and provided options for care and treatment. Melissa was a supportive help. I would highly recommend them. Location: Waterford Lakes. Cost: As expected. Environment: Immaculate. Staff: Courteous and pleasant
Our experience here was phenomenal. Our dog ZoΓ« fell sick and we werenβt sure why. She looked pretty awful when we dropped her off, but the people at VEC cared for her with their full attention and effort. Dr. Hamilton was incredible and explained everything and let us know what was happening every step of the way. ZoΓ« required extra care after a weekend at the VEC but our experience from top to bottom was everything we couldve hoped for. From the front desk to the vet techs to the doctor, everything went as well as it couldβve. Thanks to VEC for helping ZoΓ« get better!
I came here about 2-3 weeks ago when I woke up at 2AM to my yorkie having a seizure next to me. When he finally stopped, his body was completely limp and he was unresponsive but still blinking/heart beating slowly. No other place was open and I had no one to take me so I ordered an uber to the location. The main reason Iβm leaving a 2-star review is because of the brunette receptionist at the front named Heather(?), who made the nightmare of my life even worse. First off, when I arrived, I had to carry my dog in my hands, his head being supported by one and the rest of his body by the other. Heather absolutely refused to open the doors for me so I was lucky that the uber driver helped me.Then, when I passed my dog over to her, I let her know that he was limp so he had to be supported carefully. She hit me with a βyeah I knowβ and immediately after I passed him over she grabbed him and didnβt support his head, which led to it almost violently veering off to the side and my dog screaming/yelping in pain. I got upset and she almost seemed mad that I was upset that she just hurt my dog from not listening...After she took him to the back, Jessica, another nurse, was very sweet and attentive to me the whole time. She was sure to take her time with me and leave me alone if I needed to cry or have time to think about what my options were. She even brought him to me wrapped up in a blanket so I could see him, and even though he was still very weak it was nice to kiss him and know he was being taken care of.Dr. Gottfried was also very sweet. We found out through blood tests that he most likely had insulinoma, which led to him having seizures and the dextrose to raise his blood sugar not working like it should. When she talked to me about euthanization and I started crying saying I wasnβt ready, she told me about a personal story and seemed to understand me and tried to give me another option to hold off for a couple weeks so I could make peace with it.I wanted to stay in the hospital until it closed at 7:30AM, so Jessica gave me a bigger room with a bench and a pile of blankets in case I wanted to sleep (but of course, I couldnβt.) I needed to refill my water from crying it all out over the course of a few hours and Heather came to the front again. I told her I only needed to refill my water and she pressed the button to open the door and after 30 seconds, left again, so I had to wait minutes until she came back. When I asked her to let me back in, she got angry and said something about how she was too busy to keep doing this for me.... when in reality it would have taken less than a minute if she had stayed because all I did was get water from the fountain in the front. When they transferred me over to a daytime clinic, they gave me steroids to keep my dog on for when I got home. Unfortunately when I got to the other clinic and was finally called in, his condition worsened and he was in pain and seizing badly before the sedative was put in and he was put down. He was 16 and he was the closest thing to a friend and family that I ever had for 13 years and was ripped away from me in a day. Iβve been meaning to call the clinic to let Jessica and Dr. Gottfried know what happened but Iβve been too much of a coward. But I really do appreciate them and their help. However, the two stars are for Heather and the price. If you have somewhere else available, you should go there, but it was 2-3AM for me and nothing else was available. The fee just to check in is $95. If you do go here, hopefully you wonβt have Heather.
I took Lucy (my small bichon frise) into the emergency room and was seen in seconds, the staff was so wonderful and the doctors also very helpful and were very efficient. She stay overnight and they let us visit her whenever we wanted. I would keep going back to them for sure.
Brought my 2 dogs last night and was very happy with the care given by Dr. Wester and vet assistant Sara. Not only were they treated right away but the staff was very kind to my dogs. Sara was very sweet to the boys and Dr. Wester came in the room and immediately got on the floor to give the dogs kisses.
