I want everyone who’s thinking of renting a car from Aco Rent A Car in Orlando Florida to know it will be the worst customer and product service you will ever receive. Every single employee we had contact with was remarkably rude and unprofessional. We spoke with Rafael, hands down one of the worst people I’ve ever talked to in my life. Completely irresponsible, unknowledgeable and talking/ yelling to his friends while I was in the kiosk with him. There was one female employee at the desk who never spoke one word to us for the almost hour that we were there, just slamming down on her keyboard the entire time acting very annoyed that we were unhappy. The car itself looks like it was totaled about 4 times, literally held together with zip ties. The trim piece fell off while driving on a flat paved road. Absolutely embarrassing business. I will be reaching out to any and every supervisor about this experience.

These people had the worst customer service of all time. They are also literally scammers, committing fraud. Be careful. They are setting you up by making you take the fall of scratches and damages that have nothing to do with you. This is the worst company of all time. If I could give them -10 stars I would. A 1 star is already generous. I never post reviews, but I have no choice but to evaluate them and prevent other people from falling into their trap.

DO NOT RENT A CAR HERE, go for enterprise, budget or National but Those people at ACO are scammers. Their cars always have issues.They will rent you old cars with a lot of issues. this is the MAFIA HERE, This place is very unprofessional and they disappoint you. Don’t give them your bank information. Don’t do business with these people. They will charge you $200 to vacuum their car when your return it and hold $500 that you won’t get back. Non English speakers and clearly they are there just to rob people.. They will Robb you off. Run away from those scammers. Not recommended at all.

What a nightmare!!! We called that morning to inform them that our flight was delayed. Their employee Maria assured us they would hold our car for us as long as we arrived before closing. She gave us all the info for calling the shuttle driver for arrival. Upon arrival, we called the driver and he informed us that they sold all the cars and closed 2 hours early. He told us to come back in the morning to get a car. We arrived at opening in the morning to a dirt lot with a shack for an office (see photo). I have to mention that the lot was full of rental cars, so clearly they were not sold out. The sales rep told us that the car we reserved was going up from $350 to $900, because the daily insurance and toll tag were not optional. I met another customer in the office who said to me, “Are you having problems with this place too? They’ve seriously overcharged me and I just want to return the car and get out of here.” This is a tourist trap! Stay away from this place at all cost!!!

Worst experience I’ve ever had. Our family had a medical emergency and we needed to stay in Florida longer than expected. We called to extend our rental as a courtesy and we were told we could not because they had already rented it to a different guest… and that we had to abide by the original agreement despite our emergency situation. We kept the car (which was very flimsy) and told them to come pick it up, because we were not coming back until we were done with it. Terrible vehicle, policies/procedures, and customer service. I would give it zero stars if I could.

It doesnt exist! This is car 4 less. Dont go through the headache! Go across the parking lot to the big building, get a rental car from there. 3 hours at ACO, only 15 minutes at the big building.

This is a complete scam operation!!!!!!!It is a junkyard. As you can see from the other reviews they are notorious for doubling the original cost you were quoted. The shuttle driver was nice he told us after we walked out that this happens all the time. I had my own sun pass but he told me it didn’t matter that I would pay a penalty for every time I went through it. There is also a fee if you don’t buy their insurance etc... I gave this company a chance even though the reviews were bad but I was wrong. They are worse than the reviews!! When I told the guy on the computer screen that I thought it was a scam operation he changed his tone real fast and tried to get me out of there as quickly as possible. Do not use this company!!

Long wait for transportation at the airport. Very impersonal treatment. Lack of communication skills on the phone and at the office. The person receiving my call to request a pick up did not have an idea of who was the customer, contract details or other items related to the reservation. Had to do a second call to be sure that shuttle was aware of a customer waiting. Returned the car and never got a receipt. Had contacted the office several times and never got a person on the phone. Overpriced service with poor attention to the customer.

The absolute worse experience. They’ll charge you a rate and then add hidden fees. And then when you’ve realized it a couple minutes after inputting your credit card, they say they won’t return your money back. AVOID THIS PLACE AS MUCH AS YOU CAN!!! After 3 hours of pure hell and having the police involved, they still argued to not return the extra insurance they faked we needed. The money was eventually returned after threatening legal action and calling the local news. Totally embarrassing it came to that.

WARNING: Do not go here. PLEASE.They have a lot of hidden fees that do not appear when you check out online. I Had the same experience as everyone commenting. Booked a reservation through economy booking and when we arrived the price was tripled from what we were supposed to pay. Even though we by pass insurance online, when we got there they made us pay for it.Not to mention they have you pay a constant fee for tolls that is mandatory for every one even if you don’t go through tolls. And if you do go through tolls they will send you the toll bill also.It was Christmas Eve and it was our first time visiting Orlando, so we were worried that we wouldn’t find anything else on Christmas and so went ahead and did it. Also, we waited a long time at the airport for them to come pick us up to take us to their office to do more waiting. They also don’t try to resolve anything.Just save your time and hard earned money. Go somewhere else where you won’t be tricked with hidden fees and poor service.

HORRIBLE! So many hidden fees. I reserved the car for 630. They give a number to pick you up at the airport. It goes to vm. I paid for the car already. I had to pay another $281 for insurance and the toll road pass PLUS the security deposit. You cant use your own insurance because its $1000 security deposit. FINALLY get to the car and it smells like WEED SO BAD! They dont have any other cars. So...its cheap at first. Then it ends up being RIDICULOUS! DO. NOT. RENT. HERE. I NEVER will again🤬

This is a SCAM. DO NOT RENT a Car from this place. They suck you in with a good price and then add in all these extras. Car was FILTHY! Car had no washer fluid and worst of all had NO LIGHTS. We couldnt drive at night! Worst customer service EVER. Never brought us a new car, expected us to drive 2 hours on our vacation back to them to get a different car. You CAN NOT get a Supervisor EVER. They dont care about your safety!

Run Run!! If youre going from the Orlando airport a dirty shuttle will pick you up and drive you to a junkyard looking place. At night you cant see anything no light. I greeted by a computer screen in a tiny office that asked for my id and credit card.After explaining I was uncomfortable and would like to be driven back to the airport I found out they still charged me.How do you charge someone and you cant check the cars to check things out. Also who wants to give their info to a computer screen.I have good credit and you guys also I wanted 1000 down...A no go for me!!Please avoid this place

The price they quoted sounded great. That price doubled when we picked up the car with nickel and dime fees. When we returned car nobody was present to assist us. Lesson learned, use this one of the major companies.

WE WERE LEFT STRANDED AT THE AIRPORT WITH OUR 4 KIDS INCLUDING A BABY UNTIL 1:00 AM. ACO REFUSED TO ISSUE A REFUND OR PROVIDE ANOTHER VEHICLE AND CONSIDERED US A NO SHOW DESPITE HAVING PROOF THAT WE MADE SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO CONTACT THEIR COMPANY. EVEN THE REP FROM THE NUMBER ON THE WEBSITE SAID SHE COULDNT REACH THE RENTAL CAR LOCATION NEAR MCO VIA PHONE. THE EMPLOYEES AT ACO WERE SO RUDE OVER THE PHONE AND VIA EMAIL. Used this rental place over Christmas 2020. First off the car lot looks like a junk yard with a fence around it. Secondly, when I got there there was no one there and had to do everything virtually when the woman appeared on the computer monitor screen when I walked into the little office there. I also had supposedly rented a Ford Minivan. I got a Dodge Journey. Not too big of a deal. The rental place isn’t at the airport, it’s several miles from the airport.I did have text connection with them while using the car which was nice. However, I was told that I could return the car as early as 5 am., the day of my return flight and a shuttle would take us to the airport. I had an early flight so my family and I showed up to return the car at 5:40 am. Pitch black out, no lights, gate was locked and not a soul in sight. No good phone number to get a hold of anyone.Went to the airport and kept calling in desperation to figure out what to do. Ended up leaving the car at the parking garage at the Orlando airport with the key on top of the tire.Total fiasco. I sure as heck better get my $500 deposit back or I’m calling the police in Orlando.I’d not recommend you use this company to save a few bucks. It was terrible.

Beware!!!! Worst experience ever! Do not rent from here!!! I booked online through economy booking.com and what I agreed to online was not the same as when I got to the rental place. I was told to call when I arrived at the airport in Orlando, FL and a shuttle would come pick us up. I called upon arrival in Orlando as instructed and no one answered the phone after multiple attempts. My family and I were standing in the pouring rain and had to Uber our way to the rental car location. Upon arrival, we did receive our vehicle for a higher price than agreed to online via economy booking. In addition, I had to return the vehicle one day early due to a family emergency which required my return back to Chicago, and I was not refunded for the day vehicle was not used. I had to pay for an extra day of insurance, tolls, taxes, and vehicle use for a day that I didn’t even have the vehicle. When I called to request a refund the customer service representative was extremely rude, hung up the phone on me, and didn’t even empathize the loss of my family member which required us to return back home early. I would never recommend this company to anybody please stay away!

I am usually a review reader unfortunately this time I was not and had the same experience everyone else has said!!!! I would not have left any stars either but unfortunately you had to leave one just to leave your complaints. I was quoted and got a receipt and made a partial payment through economy booking.com. And when I picked the vehicle up I was charged almost double with nothing showing the partial payment I had already made. I called economybooking.com and from there I was informed I had to send an email complaint of which I did and I will not let this go until I am credited!!!!!!

I was supposed to pick up the car 6/13/2020 and when I got to their location which isn’t even at the airport, I was told that I had to pay more money for other fees (so the total was about $300-400 to rent a Jeep for a week) that I was not aware of so I told the employee that I would like a refund. My girlfriend called the same day to make sure they refund the money and they said they would. A week passes no refund. So I called but they don’t pick up and one of the numbers is disconnected. I try again the next week and nothing. Then I called again days before I had to go back home and they don’t respond. So my girlfriend calls and gets a hold of them and an employee tells her that they don’t charge you until you get the car but that’s not true because I have a charge on my account so the employee tells her to email [email protected] and hangs up. My girlfriend has sent an email and we still haven’t received an email back or my refund.This could’ve all been avoided if you guys would’ve issued me my refund. This looks very bad on your company ESPECIALLY during a time like this where there is mass unemployment and people can’t afford to throw away money. I picked this rent a car because it looked very affordable and I just wanted to be able to have a good vacation. I’m tired of waiting. I will also be reporting you guys. Give me my refund and do your job and if you really care for your company then perfect your customer service and listen to customers because it’s no coincidence that all the bad reviews you guys have sound similar and there still hasn’t been a change from what I could tell.

Lets see. .... Mats are completely drenched after the rain, there are literally hundreds of tiny ants running around in the fron t of the vehicle, the lock keeps falling out of the door, the vehicle smells terrible, our in person quote was double what we were told online, theres a check engine light that was covered up so its only visible from the passengers side...... not to mention that we had to make two calls and wait almost an hour to get picked up. It has been a freaking nightmare from the get go........... cant wait for it to be over!!!

Don’t EVER!! go to this place!!!! I have personally never written a review about any business or company but after my experience at this place, I’m left with no option than to warn other innocent people from falling into their trap. They charge extra fees for tolls and insurance when I got to their office in Orlando and this fees aren’t optional. I walked into their office with the belief that I’ll pay $193 which was my original total. Then the man that attended to me told me that my new total was $405. I didn’t budget to pay an additional increase of over 100% and this new development ruined my entire trip to Orlando. I had no choice but to pay this additional hidden fees because it was already late and other car rental agencies were closed.Please if you’re traveling to Orlando. Please! Please!! Please!!! Avoid this people!!!!!!They are not trust worthy and their service is bad.!!!!

This place deserves to be shut down!!! I booked my rental car with my plane ticket. When we pulled up even the u er driver was like are you sure this is the right place. It looks like a junk yard with damaged and wrecked cars. When I go in to talk with the people. They tried to charge me 300 more dollars. Remind you, I already paid for rental and insurance online. When I refused and said I would get one elsewhere. They made me wait out at 9pm with my 3 kids. Then 20 minutes later he comes another couple that didnt get the car either. They tried to charge them 1000 dollars more.

Wasnt very happy with service ... Car was ok, besides low tire light kept coming on ... Was told the insurance I had purchased during purchase online wasnt valid or recognized by ACO (they left me stranded one night, to fend for myself when car wouldnt start (again stating that the insurance I purchased wasnt theirs and they dont recognize it)... Then they hit me on a must purchase toll fee ... 15+ $ a day (doubled the price of my purchase) I dont like hidden stuff ... Will stay away from these kinds of discount places and stick with regular car rental companies

If I could give no stars I would! We had booked on a 3rd party website and got a great deal but do not be fooled...they get you to their facility and want to charge over double what you pay for insurance even of you do not need it. It is completely fraudulent, even my confirm email stated insurance is recommended...extremely unhappy with the service!

Number one problem this company hides behind a 3rd party company, Economy is not with them at all ..lvery misleading. If you love your peace of mind. It’s a scam online you pay one price when you go pick up it’s a junk yard with family members washing car and escorting a small office only one person in there. The place is the size of a shoe box. The manager a scam artist has everyone waiting while he tries to force insurance and tolls so while people are debating you wasting time of your trip waiting for one person at a time to dispute what we all were there disputing. Rent from airport itself DO NOT Waste your time.

This company is a scam. We reserved a car with this company but it was a complete waste of time. We reserved the car for 363 dollars for 6 days, but when we arrived, they tried to jack the price up to more than 500 dollars. They refused to rent the car to us at the price stipulated in the reservation. We had no choice but to cancel the reservation. The following day, I called their customer service to explain to them why we cancelled and to verify that we would not be charge. Their Customer Service Representative hung up on me. We knew when the shuttle bus took us to Acos place, that they were not a reputable business. There were wrecked cars in front of the place, and then inside the fence, there were even more wrecked cars. There were only 3 or 4 cars that even appeared driveable. They dont even have onsite customer service. Instead, the customers are told to go inside a small building an talk to a customer service representative via a computer screen. The service was absolutely pathetic.

Do not rent here. They are located at a junk yard. Literally it looks like a chop shop. You have to rent your car through a computer and the computer halfway works. Then their price is NOT what you are originally quoted. Lastly, they charged my card for extra money after the rental was turned in and I brought the car back with a full tank and in the same condition I borrowed. This place is a scam and I hope they get shut down, I’m sure they are doing some illegal things

Horrible place. My friend used a car to go out of state and she is under age and they didn’t say anything to her. I rent a car and went a little bit out of state not even 2 hours out and then they say I have to pay $1000 for out of state fee. I told them I was going on the trip and they said nothing to me when I was getting the car. I feel so set up! This is disgusting! Will never do business nor recommend this place. Mind you they had my friend translate for the lady worker instead of being professional and having an employee there that spoke English to explain and translate. Because they had no issue doing that when they had to tell me about charging me after everything. So sick.

If I could, I would give them zero stars. I am 70 and have been renting cars for 50 years. My ACO rental was the worst ever.The car was fine and as agreed, but their terms are incredibly bad. Everything they do is a gotcha!Many car rental agencies try to upsell you on insurance and gas charges, as ACO did, but they went much further. They wanted $13 per day for tolls. I knew I would only owe $3 for the 3 days where I was driving the car and didnt want to pay $39 for the privilege. The alternative is ACOs $50.00 fine for every single toll you pass! In Orlando, there are many tolls and most will not allow local payment so ACO takes advantage so they can rip you off.Never, never, again!

Horrible place. Fees on booking confirmation were clear but they forced additional charges that reputable companies do not force upon you. No lot lighting to inspect your car. First car had a flat tire I noticed as I pulled out and had to get a different car. The poor reviews are all true so don’t go here.

I’m still waiting to get a call about the $650 out of state fee that y’all took and I was not warned about after saying I needed a car to go to GEORGIA!!! For 1 the contract isn’t even fully printed because the printer cut off half of the words on the left side of the page. And then they put the rental and payment under my boyfriends name and debit card but had me sign everything! He didn’t sign ANYTHING! I still have the paperwork and wanted to try and fix this issue before going to my lawyer but I think you guys leave me no choice. And I do not trust the man or woman there running the place I think they are the ones taking all the money that they try to rip off people !

Bro im a 13 year old saying this but please fix your place. You barley even clean your cars, the place is a junk, and the cars are like from the 2000s, and even almost had to wait over an hour.

What a rip off this car rental company is. I so wished I read the reviews before booking. First of all their shuttle comes in 1 hour after calling them 4 times to pick us up from the airport. They are a dinghy looking car shed that is nothing close to a car rental center. It’s 3 miles away from the airport that is falsely advertised on most booking sites.When you get there my $18 bill turned into a $60 plus per day bill as you MUST buy insurance and tolls from them. Absolutely the worst car renting experience ever.Everything they advertise is false. Cars are dirty - not washed or kept clean at all.Be careful with this company - I’m going to submit this report to BBB as well.

I was reading the comments and I really do not agree, I rented with them and if they asked me for a deposit which is for their safety it is understandable it is their job, after my return after 4 days my money was returned, very good.

When we arrived, We call to get picked up at the airport, was told 15minutes I waited over 40minutes not to mentioned we called before acquiring our luggage just to still wait 40 minutes outside for shuttle.When we arrived it took another 30 minutes just to find my reservation. After, I was told they had no mini van. They tried to take a $1000 deposit to even rent a car and after I said there was no deposit when ordering online and requested to be taken back to airport to rent elsewhere, they dropped the deposit to $100. Which I agreed to as its been hours and I had a cranky 10 month old past her bed time. So they insisted in putting me in Nissan Rogue which I said wouldn’t be big enough since we had luggage, stroller and a wheelchair thus why we requested a mini van in advance.After, filling up the Nissan Rogue, the car was full from trunk to back, however I also ordered car seat for my 10 month old daughter which couldn’t fit in back so the person at the desk insisted on us leaving with my daughter on my wife’s lap in the front seat. I have video of this.After, this point I had enough and I requested to speak to supervisor, to which I was told that he’s not available right now.After refusing to leave with my daughter on the lap, the guy says okay you just take this mini van. After 2 hours of telling me they do not have mini van. He lets us switch into a mini van.Once in a mini van I request the baby once again. He finally brings it out. I asked him to please install it, since I am in a wheelchair and cannot do it and my wife wasn’t familiar with the particular car seat. Of course he had no idea how to do it so once he insisted on my wife to hold the seat in place.After about 2 hours, we finally decided to leave because we weren’t getting anywhere with this person. The car had an empty tank so after all this I still had to get gas, once at gas station we asked a nice gentlemen to help us out and install it for us.On the way to the hotel which was 15 minutes away my daughter starts screaming in the car for some reason. Once we got to hotel, we noticed rashes all over her neck, arms and legs. We figured it was stress hives. Fast forward next day, it goes away, we go out in the car seat again and same scenario. Once wet got back we realized it must be the car seat so we decided to wash it. Once washed my daughter was fine. Not washing baby car seats is UNACCEPTABLE!!During the day, I can finally see the kinda shape this car is. News flash this car was not clean or serviced after the previous renter. There was food all over. Sticky black liquid in cup holders, the lights barely worked unless on the high beam setting. Defrosters did not work, the windshield wipers need to be replaced. I Literally couldn’t see in the morning during the rain and had to wait the rain out as defrosters didn’t work and I couldn’t drive with windows down.The day after we landed in Orlando. I called the office looking to speak with supervisor. 1st time I spoke with a woman and after 15 minutes of explaining everything she says supervisor will contact me. Next day no-one contacted me, so I decided to call back, a gentleman picked up and once again after explain everything, I was told supervisor would contact me. The next day same scenario. Fast forward 3 days, I am back in jersey still waiting on this call.

Booked a rental online with ACO for around $300. When we got to their location from the airport, we pulled up into a small fenced in lot that had a couple of dozen cars scattered around which resembled a back woods used car lot rather then a professional business. The guy who processed our order then sprang on us an unexpected add on of about $100 for toll charges. No option to pay tolls ourselves. Then the real gut punch was when he said there would be a $1,000.00 DEPOSIT billed to our card until the vehicle was returned. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??!! Granted this may have been in the fine print when I made the reservation, but I have never had this kind of upcharging BS done to me from any other rental company in the past. If you fly into Orlando airport and need a rental, DON’T get it from these people. Stick with the vendors located at the airport.

Wish I had checked these reviews before we rented our car. Waited over 45 minutes at the airport to be picked up. They took us to a place out in the boonies where it would be impossible to change our minds and not rent. The rates were doubled what the website advertised. Web Site said our fee would be $28 a day ended up being over $50 a day with all the ridiculous extras that they add including paying extra for using toll roads, and insurance we didn’t need but had to buy. First car we got we didn’t get down the road 5 miles and the brakes were scrubbing so bad we had to return and get a different car. Now on day two we’re having difficulty starting the car because the battery in the key is going dead. Would never ever use this company again.

I waited an hour at the airport for the shuttle which never showed. Four rounds of many of the other rental shuttles had come through by then. I called the number several times and after a couple minutes of hold music the recording told me no one was available and the call disconnected. Reading the fine print as I wait, I realize this companys rates are cheap because they will find any ridiculous reason to charge you fees. Such as $10 per day toll fee plus any actual toll fees (if you dont take this option you get charged $50 for each toll you go through). If you dont pick up the car within an hour of your reservation time, its canceled and they charge you the full rate plus a $35 administrative fee.Bottom line, this company is a sham operation trying to steal as much money as possible before they get shut down.

Major Scam! I reserved my car online months before needing it. Advertised as an orlando airport company, but when we arrived we had to wait 45 minutes to be picked up and shuttled 15 minutes away. Once at the office the sales man tried to tell me that I only reserved a basic car when I needed a mini van. After he applied his mandatory insurance and extra Florida tax, he tried to charge me $600 USD over my quote! I showed him my booking, and he told me it was invalid. I refused to rent and shuttled back to the airport where I was not scammed.

Do not go here as they will leave you standard.We got off of our flight and they fused to rent us a car unless you pay an additional $300 for insurance (I already have full coverage that covers rentals as I went to Ace care rental after this with 0 issues)They should be shut down they had me and my family walk in the rain with tornado threat .They are scam artist and all cars looks like they have been wrecked and they were putting bandaids bascially on 1 car as we were there.Karma is all I can say .

These kind of rental places get you to place a deposit (you may have to fight to get back) and then when you go to pay the said remaining balance, they also want a $250 deposit, Insurance, & Taxes. These kinds of places - you can not just go in and rent a car - you must pay a deposit to get looped in.

I used this car rental company in October 2015 and didnt have any problems. When I arrived at the airport I called the car rental company as I already had a reservation. The shuttle came within 20 minutes. Once I got to the car rental place it was one person there processing paperwork with another customer. Once she was done, she processed mine. I had my rental car within 45 minutes. When I returned the car, I was done within 30 min. and only waited 10 min for the shuttle. I was charged the $59 for 4 days for a volvo/compact size. I strongly encourage everyone to arrive at least two hours if you need their shuttle ride to the airport. This is a small rental place so they only have one person taking people to and from the airport. The shuttle service is excellent! I will be using this car rental place again.

No stars!!!!! Absolute crooks. We had an online agreement, flew in to Orlando and took their van to their location. Even though the cost online was completely itemized with the total reflecting taxes and all other charges they would not honor it. The attendant first said we had to have proof of insurance. When I showed her my insurance card she then said without reading all of it that it did not show I had full coverage. I said yes it does and I will call my agent and have him verify it. She then changed her story and said it was irrelevant I still would have to give her a deposit of $600.00 plus $10.00 per day for insurance. Not honoring that agreement was not only unethical it is absolutely out of state mail fraud. They contract cheap rates and then change the agreement so that you are responsible for hundreds of dollars of penalties plus insurance cost that are presented to you after you arrive. Its an absolute sham and I am going to stop it. Dont waste your time with these crooks.

Picked me up at the marked shuttle area promptly. The car was very new, just over 20k miles, and drove great. I was not hassled for insurance and they didnt try to milk any extra money out of me except for the toll pass which I am extremely glad I took. Upon returning the car, I was in and out quickly with no problems and they even offered me a ride back to my hotel which was out of their way. Awesome service and friendly staff.

Recommended. They got in touch with me before the pick up date and that made easier the process to find them, was my first time in Orlando and everything was good. Christian helped me and gave a free upgrade because I didn’t fit in an economy car with my family.

They have the best prices in Orlando. The supervisor, Hector and his wife were very accommodating and helpful. The staff in general was very friendly. The shuttle picked me up promptly and once on their offices I got the car (Volkswagen) fast. New cars, Very clean and nice to drive. I rented once (2 days in October) and then returned in November to Orlando and rented again. Will definite do it again next time.

Great experience! Very friendly, no hassling over insurance. (We had it through our own car insurance plus an additional AmEx plan.) Crazy cheap. Nice car. Great small, local business. Will definitely use them again. Best to remember that they are a small shop, so be patient with pick-up & phone answering times. But for us, everything was right on time.

The booking was quick and easy, and the rate was the best I could find. The shuttle pick-up area was well marked and easy to find. They did not have the car we requested, but upgraded us to another one. Drop-off was easy! Everything you want in a car rental. We will definitely book with American Car Rental at the Orlando Airport again.

Good value; we rented a car from them for vacation back in March. They were definitely e best price, but the whole experience was... Unhurried. Slower to pick us up at the airport, slower to get us checked in and on our way. Our flight home was fairly early, we had to drop it off at another company (per Americans instructions), and even that was slower. If you need speed, go with the big names instead.

The shuttle driver tried to pick me up on level 2 at 24 ... couldnt even see 24 from where I was. Was told by the security guard that it was illegal to pickup on 2...he had to do so on level 1. Called back ten times to get him to pick up where he was supposed to. The final time he said.. I have very bad news.. your reservation is cancelled since I was supposed to pick up earlier. ... which I wouldve been able to do had I not spent an hour trying to get him to pick me up... NEVER AGAIN

DONT EVER EVER RENT FROM THIS COMPANY!!! I was 24 minutes late to pick up my car because my flight was a little late and the cab driver couldnt find the rental company. I tried calling but all the phone numbers I found were all automated. You couldnt speak to a person. Its all this wasted time that made me 24 minutes late to my pick up. When I get there they tell me they gave my rental to someone else (which was a load of BS) and tried to put me in a crappy little car for twice the price. I had to leave and find another rental agency and pay a bunch of money for a last minute rental. They wont refund my deposit. I used Discover Car Hire through Kayak. Kayak shouldnt even have them as an option. Seriously, pay a little more and use a reputable company. The office is also a horrible hole in the wall. I knew I was going to have a problem the moment I saw it. I WILL be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau.

Overall excellent experience. I am 24 and came to Orlando for my business and I was worried I wouldnt be able to rent because everywhere else was telling me no or wanting to charge me an additional $30 per day plus insurance because of my age. I called this ACO many times before the trip, every time they were very helpful and very friendly. I was also worried when I got down there the story would change because of all the bad rental car stories Ive heard over the years, but it didnt. It was very simple, affordable, and everything worked out perfectly. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the shuttle was great, and the car was also great. Im definitely a happy customer.

Worst place to try to rent cars. We rented 2 months in advance and locked in the price.....when we arrived they were trying to charge $300.00 more than what we reserved!!!!!Not to mention the car lot and tiny building looked like a hole in the wall.

Im sorry because the one women on duty last Friday was as nice as could be as customer after customer got disgusted at the companys policies...No one answered the phone, no shuttle came, after about 50 minutes I took a taxi to the lot, ($16).. Then waited a long time as there was just the one girl on a Friday afternoon..then they charge your credit card $600 immediately, hopefully to be refunded a few days after you return the car, or else bring a copy of your comp and collision ins. with you!Cheap it is, in every way...

I never thought I would have to write a negative review about a car rental company. Mostly because I didnt read any reviews about this company prior to renting and I wish I had. They are the worst car rental company ever! Our car battery died twice and they told us that because we did not take out the insurance we were responsible for getting the car back to them. Luckily we got it jumped twice and when I returned the car, they did not have any to replace it with. And of course it was working just fine when we got it there. They hardly speak any English and have TERRIBLE customer service. I requested a phone call from the owner or manager and never got it. The battery died on days we were supposed to be at the parks that I paid a lot of money for tickets. We ended up losing two half days due to this ordeal with the car. I would never rent from them again. I wish I had been warned!

I have been doing business with the Orlando branch for years. Never disappointed! Fast, easy, and GREAT customer Service. Several years ago my flight was weather delayed and they went way out of their way to help. I will continue to use them exclusively when in Orlando! Their staff are the best.

Small company, so dont expect anything grand or complicated, but it was definitely an excellent choice to make considering that companies like Enterprise or Alamo were triple the price. Car smelled a little of smoke and needed new wipers, but all we needed were the four wheels.They are located close to the airport, so the shuttle wait is not very long, unless you just miss them from a different pickup. Their lot is small, and they dont exactly have a fleet, but I did not have an issue with cars being unavailable. Got exactly what I had reserved.A few things to keep in mind: because they are smaller, they are sticklers for a few liabilities (late flight times, insurance, etc). If you have your own insurance, be prepared to drop a ~$600 deposit. This clears after 3-5 days. There is also an extra fee for automated tolls from them, but this can be avoided by using booths or exact change. Be sure to read all the fine print on your reservation confirmation or their FAQ section.The only negative thing I can think of is I ran into a little confusion post-reservation. I received 2 confirmation emails, one from American, and another from Amigo a day or 2 later. I believe they are part of the same company, as the information in both was the same. The issue I ran into was that their main shuttle phone number had changed. I booked about 2 months early and received all the info, then called the number and it worked fine. When I called a few weeks before the reservation date with some questions, the line had been disconnected. Their website had the updated number, but the old number was still in many places.There were also some minor discrepancies in their business times; my reservation info said they do not do shuttle pick up after 6pm, but the agent I talked to said they pick up all night. Google has their hours until 730pm, but again, the agent said they were open until 9pm.

The office was offsite (from the airport) so it required a shuttle but that was not a huge deal. The office was tiny & even though there were 3 office workers, only 1 rental could be processed at a time so we had to wait for 2 other rentals before we were helped. The advertised price should include the taxes, fees, and toll pass charges. When those are hidden, it is harder to compare prices. The shuttle driver was not very friendly. The car was very new, in good condition, exactly what we reserved, and we had no problems with it.

It was a great experience. Great, clean car, crazy cheap, and zero pressure for add-ons. Its a small, mom and pop type shop, and everyone there was extremely friendly. The only thing to remember is that the shop is off-site, and the staff is tiny. The same person might pick you up in the shuttle, process your paperwork, inspect the car with you, etc. So be patient with pick up and leave extra time when dropping your car off. Overall - not a huge deal at all. The experience was excellent, and Ill make sure to rent from them again the next time Im in Orlando.

I would never rent from this company again. When you book online, you get a quote stating what the actual total cost will be for the car rental. When you arrive at the counter, the cost is much higher. Although your personal insurance may cover you for car rental, you have to pay an additional $10/day for using your own insurance. We were quoted total cost online of $134.58 and the cost was actually $181.18 In addition, is company puts a $600 hold on your credit card until you return the car and charges fees for returning the car early and/or late. This company attracts customers with low prices and then once you get to the counter, the price changes. We have used many other rental car companies and have never had the price change once you get to the counter.

The absolute worst experience weve ever had. Waited an hour and a half for the van to pick us up while they swore he had been there. Then gave no options for no tolls, they insisted on charging an extra $10 a day. Our $95 rental became $249 after all the fees and taxes once we got there. We didnt even rent the car.

Super disappointed. I booked with this company through kayak. I put that my flight came in after 7pm and wanted a pick up at that time. I was not notified by either company that they close at 5. On my rental paper, its written 9pm. I should have at least received an email of their opening hours. I called them 3 times when I arrived. Took an expensive cab to find out its closed. Went back to the airport and booked with another company.Head ache.

I went to orlando earlier this year for a conference. It was a quick in and out within 20 minutes. The car I rented was a Volkswagen. Theyve got nice good smelling cars. Anyways this isnt your typical rental place. Its kind of like a mom and pop shop, nice friendly people. No one tried to sell me stuff. For the ease and friendliness it was a 5/5. Did I mention theyve got the best prices?

The gentleman my son spoke with knew we were being delivered, but he chose to go pick up another party and was leaving just as we arrived. He was the only employee who could check us out. There was another gentleman who probably could have picked up the other party. After a long day starting with a 4+ he delay in Rochester, MN, it was really trying our patience.

I only used American one time but was very pleased. The cost was much less than the other car rentals I investigated. I was concerned about some of the reviews I read but found that I was not pressured to purchase any add-ons. The only negative I had was I had to call them after I arrived at the airport. The wait was long but I found there was much construction on the road which contributed to the long wait. When I returned the car I had no issues. I would use American again without hesitation.

This place places fees on top of everything, including returning the car EARLY. Got fees for NOT using the tolls. Got fees for flight getting delayed and not letting them know ahead of time, even though we were flying cross country on the red eye.NEVER USE THIS CAR RENTAL OR EXPECT TO PAY EXCESSIVE FEES.

This is absolutely the WORST rental car company Ive ever dealt with. My mother-in-law is coming to visit and reserved a car through them a month ago. Today we called for her to make sure everything was good to go and they dont have any cars! When we asked if she would be refunded for today since it was their fault they didnt have cars, the customer service agent flat out said no. We asked if we could speak to her supervisor, she said she didnt have one. We are canceling this reservation and will be warning everyone away from them.

The worse company. I rented through economy bookings which went to Aco rent a car which in turn came out to rent car 4 less at Orlando. My rate was jacked up to 4 times although I had confirm booking with my own insurance and my own SunPass account for Florida toll road. I got stranded although I booked few weeks in advance. Dont trust or use this company. I am renting car in Orlando every two weeks and this is the worse company. Very shady location at Clarion hotel with each room with different rental car company. Avoid all of them. I give them minus 10 rating. I ended going back to airport and had to pay double with different company.

The absolute worst. Do not rent from them, period. Fly by night operation. The Orlando office has no sign on their broken down trailer/office. You cannot reach them by phone. English is not spoken or rarely. There are hidden charges like auto charges for toll roads, even if you dont plan on driving on them. Lastly, their shuttle is supposed to pick you up but they have to be contacted by phone. Of course its impossible to call or contact them when the numbers they supply dont reach any person. Horrible experience. Tell everyone to stay away from this inept so-called business. FAKE RENT A CAR!

It was frustrating. What seemed like a good deal online turned into a challenging experience wading through all the required add on fees. The site says optional but the folks would not let us take the car until their insurance and 12 a day toll fee was added. We will not be going back.

They refuse to rent to anyone with a Florida license. This should be an immediate red flag to anyone thinking about using this company. They dont want to have a local customer who is able to come in and debate the charges they put on a credit card. Theyd rather scam a tourist.They also dont bother to mention this when you call to make a reservation and even specifically ask the person on the phone if being a local would be an issue!!Dont waste your time with this company.
