These guys are great. They really examined my face shape and my hair and how it lays and waves and grows and gave me an absolutely killer cut. They also cut my childrens hair and were very warm and accommodating. We all loved the incredibly sweet puppy at the shop too. After my cut they gave me very detailed care instructions, taking special attention to the fact that my hair is in need of some rejuvenation and giving me lots of tips on how to get it to grow back full and healthy. They also waxed my face, Im not sure if thats standard or a little extra, but it was a pleasant first experience. I will definitely be back for a facial.

First time there and I’m really looking forward to my next appointment. Tyler was awesome and took time to show and explain to me how to take better care of my beard. I was in a hurry when I booked this appointment so the massages were unexpected and fantastic. Feeling like a million bucks, as us old timers like to say. 😉

There is no better place to get your hair cut than Scissor and Bone, a locally owned barber shop with a cool ambience and friendly owners and staff. I was hesitant at first because they are pricey. But after my first visit, Ive been a regular customer for over four years. I cant imagine going anywhere else just to save a few bucks. They take the time to explain what style works best for your face, and they walk you through styling and maintenance. When you walk out, your hair has never looked better. May is my regular barber, but Ive used others, and they are all top notch. If you think the price is too high, schedule with a trainee. They offer trainee pricing and do an excellent job training new barbers.

I have been looking for a barber of this quality ever since I moved to the area. I put off coming to Scissor and Bone for a while because it is probably the most expensive shop in the area. I chose to book an appointment with the owner, because I figured he was the best. He definitely did not disappoint. Although from the looks of it, I would trust any of the barbers in the shop, they all seemed like they knew what they were doing, and I can tell if they were hired by the owner, he has put them through their paces. There are lots of barbers out there that will cut what you want, and do a good job. However, that is all they will do. At scissor and bone, Talley walked me through what was in trend, talked to me about my face and head shape, what we wanted to achieve and how we are going to achieve it. I feel like Talley is in my corner, and for the hour we spent at the appointment, it felt like his only goal was to get me to be the best looking I could be. He educated me on things that no other barber had ever even taken the time to talk to me about! I am excited to return for my next appointment with Talley. I know he is going to get me looking my best!

My experience here with Sage was very much worth it. Not only did she give me a great haircut, she taught me about my hair thickness and density, my head shape, and other factors that went into the type of hairstyle that works for me. She also demonstrated how to style my hair and gave a lot of good information on how to maintain my hairs health. Overall, a professional atmosphere, and while the style I received doesnt fit my personality as well as I had hoped, its no fault of the staff. They do their best to teach you about your hair, which is something much more valuable than a haircut alone. I highly recommend Scissor and Bone.

I got my hair cut by Zaxton today and could not be happier.I grew my curly hair out for 18 months and figured if I was going to cut it then I should do it right so I came here. The building is so sick, the people are all super nice ( and have great style lmao) and just overall a rad environment. They know how to work with different hair types and shape your hair to your face and what’s going to look best on you.lastly they actually teach you how to maintain and style it! If there’s one thing it’s obviously the prices are a tad high especially in a majority college town/ towns (Provo/Orem) but you do get what you pay for and the quality is fantastic. It would be cool if they did a repeat customer discount (just $10 or something) to keep people coming back instead of one rad haircut one a year. Overall loved it and highly recommend it to everyone!

She took the time to educate me through the whole process of how she was going to give me the best haircut tailored to my specific facial and bone structure. She educated me about each product and the best way to style my hair based on its natural flow. I cant recommend this place enough, and highly recommend seeing Sage.

Ive gone here probably a dozen times now and used 4 different barbers. Not surprisingly, the owners are fantastic. May is usually who I go to, Im so glad shes back after some well-deserved maternity leave.What I love about Scissor & Bone, besides the badass name, is that everyone takes their time and does their best to make sure you leave with the skills needed for your new haircut. They will also work toward a long term goal or vision for your hair and highlight whats important in that process. I dont have to lay out what Im trying to accomplish to someone at SportsClips or rely on someones notes in the system from 7 haircuts ago.Like many others, I grew my hair out during the year+ of Covid. Ive never had long hair before and, while obvious, Ive never had to style and care for longer hair. May goes above and beyond, even letting me video the whole styling process for later review.The price is, well, pricy. But you really do get what you pay for. Youre also paying for the barbers time so you will get charged if you cancel on them. And I think thats fair. The trainees, when they have them, are like half the price. I havent gone to one yet.Scissor and Bone will also do a nose/ear/eyebrow wax with at least their owner service, if theres time and its remembered. I like their haircare products which are specially formulated and branded S&B. On top of all this, everyone there is just so kind and seems to be in a good mood when Ive gone in.

I have a head of non-hair that has not needed a barber in many years. When it was disappearing, at one time, I ended up at a Truefitt & Hill in Chicagos fashionable magnificent mile. They are the Worlds oldest barber, and have been cutting the hair of royalty and world leaders every since. It was outrageously expensive. Most importantly, they offer a level of class, treatment, and skill par excellence. I bring that up because thats the kind of place Scissor and Bone aspires to. Ive had nothing but the best experience there. Since my wife decided I needed a full beard, Ive needed good trimming skills, and Im willing to pay the extra few sheckles for the rest of the treatment. My barber also gives me a pro-rated cut for what little hair I have left.Highly recommended.Beasley may be around to welcome you as well. Thats an added bonus.

I have gone to Sciccor and Bone Barber Shop for the past year and have enjoyed my experience every time. Mark does a great job of a close clean cut and I can count on the exact same cut every month. I have never paid so much for a hair cut but it is worth it.

I scheduled my first appointment back in July this year with Zaxter for hair and beard services. $100 seemed expensive for a haircut and beard trim. What I soon discovered was it wasn’t just a haircut and beard trim, it was an experience. Zaxter promptly greeted me when I entered the establishment and explained everything we would be doing during the appointment. He talked to me about my hair and beard goals and concerns I had. He explained my hair type and facial structure. The hair and beard service was very relaxing and the final results were exceptional. At the end of my appointment he recommended the products I would need to achieve what he had taught me. I purchased a brush, shampoo, conditioner, pomade and beard oil, which smells fantastic. The customer service and the experience they provide is worth the cost. I always look forward to my next appointment with Zaxter.

I came in for my first appointment about a week ago and was very pleased. When I arrived I wasn’t exactly sure how I wanted my hair/beard styled and cut. Usually, you tell the barber what style you want and they attempt to cut to the desired style even if it won’t be the best based on your head/face shape. This shop is a bit different than most. Talley educated me on my head and face shape and recommended a style he thought would look best. I very much appreciated this as most barbers don’t give much insight into this.Talley washed and cut my hair, trimmed my beard, and styled. He spent some time showing me how he’d recommend I style my hair so I can replicate the look every day.I look forward to going back and would strongly recommend this place.

Ive had my hair cut by Mark at Scissor and Bone for a little over a year and a half. Every haircut Ive received has been phenomenal.My favorite part about having my hair cut here is that while Mark ask for and takes into account some feedback, I dont have to direct him on how to cut my hair. He takes control of what is going to look best for me, changing the style on occasion, and hits the mark every time. This is a big part of what makes this a premium service for me.The atmosphere is great as well, hopefully that espresso machine is up and running soon to make it even better.The price of a haircut is more expensive, but considering what you get for the cost its a great value. Their hair products are also on the more expensive side. I resisted buying them for the first handful of months I went. After trying their products though I can say theyre absolutely worth it as well and far superior to anything Ive used in the past. If you want to make the most of the high end haircut youre getting you should be using their products. However, if prices went up any further Id probably have to reconsider this opinion.Overall would highly recommend Scissor and Bone and Mark.

Its 50 dollars for a shave and 50 dollars for a haircut (100 for both). The price might throw off some people who are used to only going to Fantastic Sams or SportsClips, but its well worth the money on occasion to be treated by someone who is dedicated to their craft and truly knows what they are doing. I was really impressed with the whole experience and how the shave turned out (I only got the shave). I will be back the next time I need a shave or haircut for a special occasion.

This is my fourth time going to Scissor and Bone and Z has consistently nailed it. The first time he really figured out my style and what would look good for me. He showed me how to style it, recommended stellar products from scissor and bone, and even set up another appointment for me so I could just practice how to style my hair. This is the most helpful barbershop I have ever been to. They don’t just get you in and out, they really take the time to make sure you can replicate the style you leave the shop with, at home. This last time was legitimately the best haircut I’ve ever received. The hot towel and scalp massage is awesome, the straight razor neck shave is fantastic, and just the overall aesthetic and vibe of the place is super chill. I always walk away looking so good and the best part is they shape your hair so it actually grows out nicely, so you have some time between haircuts. I cannot recommend this place enough. If you want a cookie cutter sheep shearing-like haircut for $12, this is not the place for you. This place is fantastic. Ive gone multiple times and am extremely impressed by the detail thats put into it all and the comfortable setting they set you in. I could just fall asleep, then wake up and my hair and beard would be perfect. Particularly my beard. I work outside so its rough keeping it nice, but they fix it up and inform me how to pull it off myself. They feed me with all kinds of info on how to keep myself looking good cause Lord knows I need help with it. I never even knew I had curls til I went here... yeah. Go try it out! Worth every dollar! You might have curls, too!!! But dont be disappointed if you dont. Theyll help you to every day rock whatever you got. I thought it was pricey at first, but I really got what I paid for. It seems when the stylist see your face and hair type they generally have an opinion on what would look best for you.If its your first time here, try out their cut and see if you like it.If you dont like it, give this place another try and spend some more time explaining what you want and theyll do a great job.Original Review: They have excellent customer service and really want to make sure you are happy. I got a hair cut there and with the three products that were recommended it costed around 200 dollars. I believe the haircut itself is around 50 dollars. The haircut was fine, but I didnt feel it was a 50 dollar hair cut.Talley from Scissor and Bone reached out to me and offered a refund and another hair cut free of cost because I wasnt satisfied and left a 3 star review. I do plan on giving the place another shot when my hair grows out again and will update my review accordingly.

My barber, Stephanie, seems to know my hair and what looks best better than I do, and she does an amazing job at cutting it. What’s more, the auxiliary services included in the cost such as waxing and the hot face towel, really up the ante.To top it all off, the styling education is far greater than any other Ive received. I have been taught what products to use, how to style, as well as general hair health tips. My hair has thickened up considerably in the last 3 months. I’m looking forward to my 3rd cut in August.

This place will teach you all the things about proper haircare that men arent normally taught. Proper care, styling techniques and tips, etc. Highly recommended.

I admit I dont have an easy head of hair to cut. But I wasnt happy with the end product. Especially for a place that claims to know the best way to cut everyones hair. The entire hour I was there felt like a sales pitch to buy their professional hair dryer or some of their product.The stuff they put in my hair worked great but let your product speak for itself. I was told by the barber to never use coconut oil in your hair. Guess what the main ingredient is in their finishing cream... yep coconut oil.I can definitely see the appeal for the people that like this place. I really wanted to like it because of the old bikes and everything but it just fell short on almost every level.My appointment was a little over a month ago so Ive had time to think about this. The only reason Im giving 2 stars is because the atmosphere is interesting. And Ive given very few places lower than 4 stars.I have a suspicion that the negative reviews on here that the owner has claimed are fake are actually real.

How can you beat this Barbershop ?? I feel bad for the competition. They are true professionals and know how to do there job very well all while keeping it laid back. Z my barber, did an excellent job and took the time to explain everything . Most times you dont get you what you pay for at these kinda places.... I can tell you full heartily I got my moneys worth!

I want to make this clear from the start, this is a review of Mark, not Scissor and Bone. If I could, I would rate Mark a 2.6. Three stars, to me, implies they did an OK job. They did an EXCELLENT job the 1st time I saw them, on the return visit, not so much. On this visit I accidentally arrived to my appt 1 hour early. My fault entirely, I hung out until my appt time. Mark let me know I was an hour early. I then told him I wanted a mohawk, previosuly I had a business cut, and they typically take just under 2 hours. Mark understood and said, Cool, Ill come get you. When it was my turn I showed Mark pictures of the style of mohawk I wanted. Mark begins to tell me that he advises against it, stating that its not professional and its a pain to style. Both of which I already know, Ive had a mohawk before. Secondly, my bosses boss approved the mohawk and actually encouraged it. I let Mark know about all of that and they started to come up with excuses as to NOT cut my hair. It was then that I started to leave. I came for a haircut, it was clear that I was not going to get one, so I left. Mark tells me that he was not going to charge me for the appt. I wouldnt of paid regardless of their cancellation policy, which is, OUR CANCELLATION FEE is the price of the FULL scheduled service. YOU ARE PAYING FOR OUR TIME, NOT THE SERVICE. I am not upset because I wasted my afternoon on 2 barbers and 1 haircut. I am upset because Mark knew I wanted a mohawk and waited till I was in his chair to tell me that he wouldnt do it because it wasnt trendy, not in style, and nowhere even near trend, his exact words. I went to Mark the 1st time because I wanted his opinion on my haircut. But the second time? Not so much, I wanted his expertise in cutting hair. His personal stance and principle is worth more than getting paid I suppose. I wont be returning. Im going to miss this place, as it was a great haircut if you want no say in your own hair. Which is what I wanted the 1st visit.

We had a great experience with Stephanie.She wasn’t afraid to tackle the unique style that we were looking for.She did an excellent job with my moms haircut and she was very thorough at explaining everything from the haircut to the styling.Highly recommend!

Will you undoubtedly get a rad haircut from someone who takes the time to tailor a cut just for you? Yes. Will you get some sweet styling training on how to work your hair in a way that looks awesome and works with your face and style? Also yes. Stop reading reviews and go get your haircut here already.Update: Ive been going here for more than a year. Stephanie always does a fantastic job, checks in on any changes I might want to make, and makes recommendations on styling and products. I genuinely look forward to getting my haircut each month, which is the opposite of how I felt about haircuts at all those more corporate places. The shop has a great environment with good music and is always clean.

Cool vibes and friendly staff, I was greeted right away. Stephanie did great on explaining everything to me and teaching me what I needed to know to style and take care of my hair. They carry all the supplies you’ll need to do both (a little pricy but worth it if you want good hair) gonna jump on the program and see how it goes.

Mark taught me more about my hair than I have learned in 25 years of being alive. He helped me understand what facial structure I have and what kinds of styles would work with it and not against it. He talked about what kind of hair I have and the pros and cons of it being the way it is. The time taken to teach me how to style it properly was a huge plus, as it was tailored exactly for me. They are very friendly and professional, and know what they are doing. You could tell he cared about me liking the style Id get. On an unrelated note, there were even some dogs hanging around and chilling out - totally a plus. Ill definitely be a returning customer here.

Ive been with Talley since he cut hair in his little shed in the backyard. He is wildly talented and knows how to make a guy look good. I never felt overly comfortable about my hair throughout my childhood/high school/college years and with one haircut from him it was like I had transformed. This is going to sound like a stretch, but he can change someones life by boosting self-esteem and making them look great! He is the best there is.

Best hair cutting experience Ive ever received. They know what theyre doing. Really friendly people too. Theyll go over head shape, and your hair goals (what you want it to look like.) The best part about it is they help you learn how to style your own hair so you can perfect your look at home and rock the amazing cuts you get! I recently had my first experience at Scissor and bone and it was awesome! Great barber shop! Nothing but good solid vibes. Maddy was exceptional and gave me some great advice on how I should style my hair according to my head shape which I thought was super unique to any other place I have been. I highly recommend going there and ask for Maddy she is awesome.

Scissor and Bone is a fine place to get a haircut. The staff know what they are doing. Be prepared for them to pitch you every product they use. My biggest problem, and it’s purely a personal preference, is that it does not feel like a barber shop. I cannot get comfortable in the shop. This may be partially due to the harsh lighting, but overall it feels more like a beauty salon than an old time barber shop. Also, I was made aware by my barber that they would be increasing their pricing, and that is enough to send me back to my previous shop. So long as you are alright with more of a modern, hipster take on a “barber shop”, this could be a great place for you, just no longer for me.
