Writing reviews isnt normally my thing, but I wanted to make an exception in this case to keep spreading the positive word. Overall a car buying experience can be a real roll of the dice. The experience at Saybrook Auto Barn was fantastic - top to bottom. In doing my research ahead of time they really seem to try their very best to bring a quality automobile to the lot. It doesnt appear that the buyer simply wants to put cars out front - they want quality product. I also found, before buying, that their prices seemed very fair. Once I got to the vehicle I was considering it only got better. Seth made the overall buying experience a breeze. Fair price, no pressure, and got my financing done without a hassle (even with credit that wasnt perfect). Ive NEVER had a smoother car buying experience. Once purchased I found a minor issue (driver side heated seat) with the vehicle. I spoke with Bill in the Service Dept and he had me taken care of without delay. Even my contact with the team that works the front have all been great. They are friendly and personable. I would highly recommend them if you are in the market for a quality vehicle. I came in for service. The staff was extremely friendly & helpful. They opened the door for me upon my arrival. My car was serviced and fixed in the same day. I cannot wait until it is time for me to purchase my next vehicle. This is the only place I will go. These guys are definitely better than the rest.

Having my emissions test done at Saybrook Auto Barn was actually a pleasure. The business itself is super clean and decorated with vintage vehicles that were really fun to look at. The staff were courteous and prompt. The test itself was quick. Great place to go for emissions testing and if Im in the market for a new car I will definitely consider shopping there.

Went in for my emissions, they were pretty good! However, I have a standard car and the mechanic stalled it several times. Inside is pretty neat, i used to go here when it was NAPA Auto Parts. Small garage, but I bet they do a fine job when they have you car.

Extremely nice and professional. After buying a truck I noticed a strange noise in the transmission. They immediately got it into the shop and fixed it. Seth even called me a few times to make sure the truck was running good. Couldn’t recommend them enough.

Website says make a offer..Then they proceed to tell you that the retail price is higher than the asking price.Whats the point of making a offer if there is absolutely no negotiations whatsoever if you are paying cash instead of financing. Mindblowing

Got my Emissions Test done here. It took less than 10 minutes and they were very friendly and efficient. Can only speak to the emissions Test, but they were great.

Went to get my required auto emissions test when I moved here from another state. They were pleasant and got me in and out fast. First come first served. Recommended.

I had to take my Jeep in for an oil change today at the Jeep dealer and after I needed to get my emission test done. They recommend Saybrook Auto Barn which is across the street. Great place! Friendly service. Very clean waiting room / showroom with some wonderful classics to look at. They took my car right away and had me out in about 10 minutes. Definitely recommend.

Coming from a previous career as a used car dealer Im always very sceptical of the used car dealerships.Had a very straightforward experience with this dealership, the truck I bought was exactly as described. Im a couple weeks into owning it now with no issues, financing was a breeze and overall they were very professional.Very clean waiting area.Truck was safety checked and ready, I got financed and took delivery same day.I will definitely be returning when I need another car and would highly recommend them to anyone I know.

Sold us a really nice looking car, but thats their thing. They look for cars that look nice while under the hood is a plethora of issues. They make their money from all the repairs you will need to do. Not to mention the insurance they offer never covers what its supposed to. Do not buy a car here; stick with private sellers and dealerships. At least they are upfront about screwing you over.

$15,000 car that needs $9,000 worth of work. They keep saying everything is fine but my private mechanic AND the several dealerships Ive gone to say otherwise. Wish Connecticut had a lemon law. Do not buy anything here unless you like fixing things and needlessly spending money.

I bought a car here and so far everything is good. The salespeople were nice. The car are very fairly priced and the one I ended up buying was in great condition. They let me take it to my mechanic to get checked out and there were no issues. Im happy with the choice I made and so far the car is still running great.I got a sense that the owner really likes and cares about cars, which I think makes this place a bit unique in a sea of dealers.My one small complaint was that they were a little pushy with trying to sell a warranty, but saying no a bunch of times was a small price to pay for getting a good deal. Just come prepared to hear the spiel and youll be fine.

Was looking for the right car that would last me awhile. John H was amazing helping me get financed and making things easy as possible. Everyone there was also amazingly nice and made me and my girlfriend welcome the whole time.

Walked around the lot for about 20 minutes, not a single employee came out to help. Cars on the lot are priced high and almost every car was damaged in some way. Some cars had large dents, huge scrapes, large sections of rust and/or missing wiper blades. The poor presentation of the cars not even being clean inside or out was a huge turn off.

John walked us through our financing and all of the paperwork with clarity and patience. We just had a maintenance check done on the car by our regular mechanic who found the car to be in overall excellent shape, with only a few things that will have to be done relatively soon. Recently took our car here for an emissions test. The staff were very friendly and the test was finished within ten minutes. Theres even a monitor where you can watch them servicing your vehicle from a very comfortable couch inside while you wait. We also received a few coupons for some free services after the test. Great service overall, would highly recommend!

Sold us a nice looking car a year ago that weve had problems with since driving it off the lot. Everytime we take it in for repairs they say nothing is wrong with it. Well, the bad wheel bearings that almost caused me to crash would say otherwise. Dont buy from here. Sure everyone is nice but its a farse.

Overall my experience with saybrook auto barn was fair, very laid back no pressure atmosphere (which was great) however though after I asked all my questions they said no problem everythings gonna be addressed, WHICH NOTHING WAS! However THE REASON FOR MY HONEST REVIEW AND NO SALE WAS. 1ST OFF I HAD DRIVEN DOWN FROM EVERETT,MA WHICH IS ABOUT 130MILES AWAY, not once but TWICE!... OK SO AFTER THE FACT OF REPEATEDLY GETTING CONFIRMATION THAT and asking questions like has this been fixed or has this been taken care of via text (which was only like 3-4 things) I was told yes its all set. Come back down and after I TRIPLE CHECKED ASKING QUESTIONS 3-4 TIMES (again via text). I made a 3rd and final trip down which to be honest I was so excited to get the car. I get down there and NOTHING WAS DONE OR ADDRESSED TO THE CAR. I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED AND UPSET. They did not keep there word after I repeatedly asked has everything been completed was this or that addressed? Yes I was told, I get down there and I thoroughly go thru the whole car underneath, motor, rear end, etc I find nothing to be done... I really wish they had been honest with me thru the whole process, Now the million dollar question, WILL I GO BACK TO DO BUSINESS WITH SAYBROOK AUTO BARN? Not sure at this point I think as a last resort. Do your research 1st and shop around fellow car buyers.
