Kudos to Michael and his excellence and professionalism. We had our regular service and brakes done yesterday in a Kia dealer to prepare for a road trip. Were driving toward CT and started to hear a very weird noise coming from our front tire. We looked up in the internet called Meineken, which took us in swiftly and solved the problem. Lost bolts from the repair the day before could have costed us our lives. Michael did not even charge us, he said, I didn’t do anything, I only gave you two bolts… I said, you did much more than that, sir!

Marc was so professional, helpful and personable! I called first and he told me I could come right in, no problem. Then when I got there he listened to my concerns, set my mind at ease and took care of my car. The experience was quick and efficient and he was a pleasure to deal with.I will highly recommend this place.

Drove from Pennsylvania for vacation. When we left the grocery store car started to make a horrible grinding noise. Meineke was recommended by AAA. They were able to get my car in the next morning and checked with in a couple hrs. Staff was incredibly helpful, super nice and had me feeling safe for our ride home Saturday.

This is a great review, I’ve had Chris as this location work on me and my girlfriends car over 10 times.. This is not one of those “one time service” reviews. This location is CONSISTENTLY great. I very rarely leave reviews because 99% of the time the service you get isn’t worth leaving a review for however, this is an exception. Chris the guy runs this place is outstanding, he only does what your car requires, the prices are much better than I’ve found elsewhere. He works a lot, has a great family he cares for and he has a great personality. My #1 favorite thing though is that he doesn’t up sell anyone on stuff they don’t need and he gets the work done very fast, usually the same day for quick jobs. I can’t say enough good things. I do most of my own car repairs, and most of the time I would much rather have Chris and his guys do the work instead.

The most honest mechanic in all the adjacent towns. He invited me to look at my car after he took the tires off to show exactly what was going on with the brake system, and he was 100% upfront with the costs, applying every discount Meineke had to help me. He even did a free tire rotation and also fixed a pending flat for free (screw in tire from the hardware store, glad he caught that!). The next time I need any sort of maintenance, I am going here.

I had a tire that AAA put on way to tight, ONE TIRE. Other three were a breeze, did them myself. But the fourth? AAA screwed me. Chris got me in with no notice. Anthony and Chris spent the entire day cutting and torching the rim to get it off. Anthony worked harder than anyone I’ve seen and tackled a problem neither he nor Chris had ever seen before. They took care of me 100%. Chris went for a test drive after to make sure the new tire and rim were safe. They treated me like family and were just as invested in my Jeep as I am. I would recommend this shop to anyone. Your problem can not be as bad as mine and they will take care of you.

My engine light came today so I went in...Chris, the manager, quickly identified the problem as a bad coil, using some quite sophisticated equipment. He replaced it promptly and did the “after repair” test to make sure the problem was solved.These guys are PROS.

HORRIBLE BUSINESS!This unprofessional shop cant even do a oil change or tire rotation without problems:They overfilled my oil.They made me come back four times to try and fit me in for the tire rotation, but everytime they had excuses such as were too busy, my tech is out sick, ect. I finally got my $10 back for the tire rotation that they failed at. Do yourself a favor, avoid Meineke and support your local mechanic. All Meineke cares about is taking your money.

They did a hack job on my exhaust and did not fix everything they said they were going to. They still charged me for work they did not do. Avoid this place at all costs! Complained and was told that that was the best they could do.

Put an exhaust on a painful 1988 camaro project, but we’re able to get it done perfectly.

The Honda service center told us all 4 rotares and brakes needed replacing to the tune of $600 so we came to meineke for a second opinion. In 5 minutes the mechanic told us only the front brakes needed replacing and the back were fine. Lifetime brakes (replaced for free forever) for $200. Boom. Customer for life

I was fortunate enough to get my vehicle in for an oil change with very little notice. Matt was cheerful, even when I was tormenting him about the prices (in good fun)! The work was done quickly and professionally, and I was treated with dignity and respect. A fun time was had by all - well, at least by me.

I waited 45 minutes for them to change 2 headlights. Instead of telling me they didn’t have them in stock, they went out and bought the bulbs while I sat there. If they had just told me they didn’t have the bulb, I would have rescheduled. I was very late for work because they did not tell me they were not prepared for my scheduled appointment.

All the praise in the world for Chris in the Old Saybrook Store! His customer service skills are off the chart and he got my car to me when I needed it - something that meant he had to get it done fast! I am immensely grateful and would recommend this Meineke shop to anyone that asked. You have a loyal customer FOR LIFE.

The damage my brakes sustained from the hack job Meineke did not only cost me hundreds of dollars but almost cost me my life. In early April I casually stopped into this place for brake work as I was visiting family and was not familiar with the area. 3 1/2 months later one of my outer bearings is completely unrecognizable due to incompetent and negligent installation. I have attached a picture of what a normal bearing looks like and what my bearing looked like after 104 days of use after being installed by this place. I had to pull off the road frantically after losing partial control of my steering. The sound coming from my front right wheel was terrible as well as the sensation it gave throughout the rest of the vehicle due to its malfunction. My rotor/bearings were frozen. Had this happened 20 seconds earlier while I was on the highway I couldve been killed. My truck was undriveable and had to be towed. The independent mechanic who I took it to, who is a very well respected member of our community, said the bearings were improperly installed. The boys at this shop said the problem was caused by a defective part and they were not at fault. Time after time, this shop kept stringing me along with promises of taking action to help me but never following through. They said they would call my mechanic to see what he said. They never did, and refused to do so. They said they would call me back to update me on the resolution of this incident. They never did. They said that they would have a parts representative look at the components in question to arrive at a fair compensation. That never happened. They also would not let me talk to the owner. The only time I heard from them is when I called them. I urge you to stay away from this place. They do not care about decent customer service or good business practices and they will lie in order to save themselves.The attached photo shows what a normal bearing should look like, on the right, and what my bearing looked like 3 months after Ryan Kilbride installed it, on the left.

We were driving from Mass to NJ and we lost our tire on 95. We had our car towed to their shop 30 minutes before they closed. These guys tried to find the parts we needed so we could immediately be on our way. When they learned they wouldn’t be able to get the parts until the next morning they helped us find a hotel room down the road. They drove us to and from the hotel and had the car ready the next morning. They even gave us a break on the bill. They went above and beyond! Thanks to Matt and his coworker! You guys were great.

I needed an oil change, but my regular place was booked. Looked online for a place nearby and found this place. Set an oil change appointment online an hour before going, and got in one hour after they opened. They had a great coupon available. Typical, no frills waiting room. Had me out within 30 minutes. Only hitch was when the cashier assumed it needed 6.8 quarts, which was $8 more. Be aware that just because it says there is a time slot available, call ahead just to verify. The cashier says the slots arent saved in real time, so there can be issues with double- booking.

Called ahead, told me they were available to fix a flat tire, I arrived and they got to work right away! Everything was fixed in less than 15 minutes and for free. Absolutely the best customer service. Kudos to Matt, nice work.

Meineke at Old SayBrook, CT Tried to Cheat Me.They charged me 500 dollars for a Starter Replacement. After paying I confronted them about the paper work which showed what they did a why it cost so much. They tried to give a hard time about the paperwork One of the Auto repair told me they charged extra money because they went out too lunch and spread the extra money among themselves. They returned 200.00 dollars of my money but I think they did not replace the starter and fixed a minor repair. Be careful if you go to this shop.After 3 weeks Meineke has not responded to complaint after I called there customer service. I will pursue other remedies. Never Meineke again for anything. Owner has not taking any steps that I know of.It has been 1 month and Meineke Customer Service Person has not called to address this issue. I will NEVER take a car to this organization again., STILL HAVE NOT HERD FROM CUSTOMER SERVICE AFTER 2 MONTHS!!!

They told me I need full synthetic oil for my 2016 3.7 v6 mustang. The manager even said it needed full synthetic. I told them I needed synthetic blend. They refused to put it in saying my engine would blow up. I left because I did not want to pay the price for full synthetic. I went in my owners manual and later checked and found that my car wanted synthetic blend just like I said. I didnt want to pay 70 dollars which is 30 dollars extra than what my car needed.

Shameful place, that lacks in customer service, honesty and integrity.. I walk in asked for a price to do winter tire swaps and what I got was an insult for a price. 150!! Didnt even include a wheel alignment..Go down the road. I got the tires swapped with a wheel alignment for 140!! Ps.. 15 per tire not 40 per tire.. next time dont assume the consumer isnt aware of industry prices.. Honesty goes a long way.

Went here to have a new exhaust system for my Volvo XC70. The district manager, Don, and mechanics were very polite and explained what needed to be done by showing me exactly what work was needed and giving me clear options. I was surprised how quickly they completed the work and am happy with the results. I also like the lifetime guarantee which gives me the peace of mind that I can have the system fixed again for free if there is trouble. Waiting room could be updated a bit, otherwise great. Thanks!

Weirdest oil change of my life. I went in to ask how long the wait time was for an oil change and the manager literally would not answer me. Honestly the most painful interaction Ive had in a long time, it felt like I was trying to trick him into confessing or something. Finally got him to say it probably wouldnt be more than an hour and a half, its so awkward I feel like a complete jerk for even asking. The whole thing was very uncomfortable, Im definitely not going here again.

Scheduled an appointment in advance. Arrived on time. Was told that I would I have to wait several hours for my scheduled oil change. I never received a call from them to notify me that they were backed up. If you are looking for a place where scheduling appointments means absolutely nothing, look no further. I left multiple points of contact when I booked apparently for no reason. These guys will think nothing of wasting your time.Decided to try this location one more time after hearing about new ownership. Very unfriendly staff. Got oil change package, which should have came with tire check and rotation, but zero work was done to the tires. DO NOT GO HERE!

On Thursday morning at 9:00 am I came to this location to have a oil change done .... Without a appointment and Chris was very Accommodating he got right on it ..... also he noticed that my Exhaust System needs to be replace ..... all and all this place is very professional clean great customer service .... the only one thing that I found was Rude was the gentleman that was standing outside the building ..... Approached me with the words What’s Up What do you need that was Not Professional ..... I look at him and told him that’s not the way to greet a customer that’s when I told him I was looking for Chris the Manager ..... Theyre the worst went there twice to have a shockmount put on the car its sat there for five hours the first day they didnt do it somewhere come back next time I could which is 2 days later I went back it was there for three hours and they still didnt do it. Never going back again!!!!

Great job repairing a problem with my car while travelling in the area late on a Saturday afternoon when other auto shops are closed. I thought it was going to be a major repair but they fixed in under an hour and charged only $75.

I have to say I was a bit taken back when they double the amount of brake service requested without a phone call for for proper authorization to proceed. And they did not place my spare back in my vehicle so now I have to make a trip back to retrieve it.

Scheduled an oil change and tire rotation over the phone but when I got in they had no record of the appointment. They said they couldnt do the tire rotation but could do the oil change for me in 10 minutes. Took them an hour and offered no reason why it took so long. Absolutely terrible service and would not ever recommend this place.
