Peter Christopher is an excellent, no pressure sales person. He stayed 45 mins after closing with me & found me the exact car I wanted from another Hyundai dealership. I thought this would take weeks- it took him 2 days! I was in my new car by the weekend.

We brought our 2019 Hyundai in for service and a recall fix. We dropped it off and we couldn’t pick it up for a week or two because I couldn’t get a ride there. Once we received a ride we arrived there at night however there was still an hour or a hour and a half before you closed. We entered the dealership and no one was there except a junior sales man/a younger salesman. Which is fine. Me and my son went to the car and the key fob was not working. The batterie died. So we went and told the salesman. He was polite and he jumped our car for us. We told him where we lived and he said that by the time we got home the batterie would be charged enough. Then we drove home which was a 25 minute drive. Once I started driving my son pointed out that the 12 volt plug and the USB port was open. Which was weird because we don’t use that and had them closed when we left. When we got home we let the car run for 10 minutes in our driveway. Then we turned it off. We came out that next morning and the batterie was completely dead. So I called the dealership and told them what happened. Thinking he would obviously charge/ replace the batterie. The man we talked to was snotty and said that he couldn’t send some one to come and charge the batterie. He said that we had to drive the car there or WE had to pay to get it towed there, not guaranteeing he would fix the batterie free of charge. When it was the dealers fault and didn’t check the batterie when we called and told them we were coming that day. He also insisted the altinator needed to be checked/replaced when it was just there for a service check. We didn’t have another car to jump start it and didn’t feel comfortable driving it there since the whole time we drove the car back after it’s previous service all the interior electronics keep glitching and turning off and on. So eventually we brought the batterie to a professional batterie company who gladly tested/charged it properly free of charge. Then the salesman never even called back to make sure we got it straightened out. Which he didn’t have to but is proper. Extremely poor service and not personable service. I wouldn’t recommend.

HOWEVER, that being said, your finance person, was arrogant, rude, demeaning and overall just not a nice person.

Once my issue has been corrected to my satisfaction, I will be able to increase stars.==============================ORIGINAL POST: Unfortunately, although I had a decent (not perfect) sales experience PRIOR to picking up my brand new car, the experience has now taken a hard fall. When I picked up my car there were severe dents in the brand new leather seats. No one informed me about this issue (Chris Rodriguez - sales person). I only noticed it just before I was going to drive my new car off the lot!!!!! Then they (Leo) indicated not to worry, they would take care of it. Later, Forrest Cobb indicated that he would reach out to corporate blah blah blah (I visited in person a couple weeks later to show him the issue with the seats). He was supposed to contact me to let me know when the seat covers came in, blah blah blah. We are now over a month later, and have heard nothing. I email him. Still nothing. Today I emailed both Forrest and Leo. If no response, I will be contacting their corporate offices and will be reporting them to the appropriate agencies. Despicable. You should be ashamed. I see from the reviews, I am not the only one. So is your motto, sell and then never communicate again? I will be sure to share my story.

I was apprehensive about the car buying experience. I can say that my entire experience was a pleasure. Jose worked hard to take into consideration all my needs and wants and was so helpful in comparing my options. I was most wary of pressure and never felt uncomfortable. My questions were answered without any of the condescending attitude I felt at some other dealers. Patrick in Paperwork (!) was likewise personable and helpful in answering all questions. I must say in addition that every employee I encountered was so warm and helpful. Sometimes you are invisible to all but the salesperson you are working with. That was not the case. I would certainly recommend them.

Had an appointment-- got there 5 minutes early & waited a total of 35 minutes. There were 4 salesmen on the floor; they were hanging out and talking to each other on the other side of the showroom, but not a single one greeted me, asked me my name, asked me if they could help me, etc., despite the fact that I was standing for most of the time.Halfway through my waiting time a couple came in and one of the salesmen jumped up from his desk and greeted them immediately.I left and went elsewhere.

I live right around the corner from Quality in New Haven and travel to Old Saybrook because the price and serivce is better and the people more pleasant. I actually tried to get the New Haven dealer to honor Old Saybrooks prices, however, the service manager got irritated and refused. He said I had to print the coupon in order for him to even consider it while it was available for viewing on my cell phone. I have really come to love my experience with Old Saybrook and will never go anywhere else for service or my next Hyundai.

From the moment we walked in, everyone was friendly but not overbearing. Car buying can be a bit anxiety-provoking, and from start to finish I felt nothing but comfortable. Peter answered all my questions, worked to help me get the payments to where I needed them to be. Patrick went through everything and explained all the forms in detail before I signed them. Not once did I feel pressured to make a decision, nor did any of the staff give off a salesy vibe. Our experience we were back a week later to turn in my husbands lease and lease a new SUV for him! Today I went there after all the negotiations for delivery of 2014 Elantra. To my surprise, at the last minute when I was signing the documents, without even any advanced notification they increased the overall price both parties agreed upon earlier. When I caught it and asked about it Leo was acting as if it was nothing and trying to convince me saying it was wrong tax calculation by his GM. I understood that they made a mistake and promised me wrong Out The Door price but least I expected was to admit their mistake and make an attempt to either honor their promised price or come to me and explain/request.They did neither and Leo was talking as if we made a mistake and was arguing that they can not give an Out The Door price when none other than their GM has given us the Out The Door price in writing when we went there day before for looking at the car. So I walked out and never will visit or recommend this dealership to anyone I know.
