$110 for a vague diagnosis. Price includes a AAA discount. Took half an hour when it should’ve been 5 minutes. Mind you they didn’t fix the problem, just told me a few things it could actually be.

My insurance sent them to change my tire. He was there timely and very professional. However, he broke one of the studs while changing the tire. He blamed the person before and said it was already broken. But I watched him remove the lug nuts, he completely removed 4 out of 5 and then forcefully attempted to remove the last one.He fought it putting one back on opposite side but it was too late and it broke.At the moment, I didnt say anything so it was maybe my fault for not speaking up. I didnt imagine he needed guidance removing a tire.

Donald was my tow truck driver, not only did he come extremely fast but he did above and beyond. I had an amazing experience and will be gladly returning!

I had to get my car towed after a tire blew out and the driver was SO helpful and made my experience much less stressful. I did not get his name but he was very knowledgeable and super helpful! I would definitely recommend this company.

We were heading home from a month long trip with our RV and had a blowout at 2am on 95 with one of our trailer tires. Mal’s was there within 20 minutes of my call and the technician (didn’t catch his name) was unbelievably helpful and professional. He had the tire swapped out in less than a few minutes and provided some helpful advice of things to pick up to carry with us in case it ever happened again we’d be able to do it ourselves should we need to. Cant say enough positive things about them!

I was dumb and locked my keys in my car. They came out in the pouring rain, 20 minutes after I called to help. The technician took a minute and a half and had my car unlocked. I had a great experience!

I was serviced by Dominic out in the woods of Haddam. He showed up on time and took care of my issues right away with a smile. On the ride back to the shop Dom had excellent stories that passed the time and this day went from being a headache to a blessing in disguise. Thank you Mal’s Auto!

Stuck at 8.30 pm Pete from Mals came out to help. Unfortunately it wasnt the battery but the ignition and the truck was not big enough to tow me. Pete gave great advice which meant that I could go home and he came back with a bigger truck and delivered my car to my mechanic. First class attitude and service. Thank you.

*I am updating my review because I feel it doesnt do enough justice to this wonderful company!!!!First of all, Im from Maine. I was traveling back from taking my daughter to her fathers in Florida. (Mind you by myself) when Im literally 247 miles from home in the middle of the night my car decided to die on me. Insert crying and screaming into the night. Now next morning my father-in-law calls Triple A. I was told that they wouldnt be able to get me for a while. Within 20 minutes, the tow truck driver was there. Even during a global pandemic, took me and my car to the shop because I could find a taxi service. Im a crying mess when I get to the shop and the 2 amazing women in the office consoled me told me everything will be fine. They talked with me, and even let me charge my phone because it was dying!!!! The mechanic had my car inside the shop within minutes of my arrival. He figured out it was my alternator. The girls had the part ordered and it was on its way over only moments later. As soon as the new part was dropped off boom it was on the car!! Absolutely the best service Ive ever recieved!!!!If I could say one thing to the whole crew, I would say thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!!!Absolutely the Best!!!! The tow truck driver got to me so quick. And the guys at the shop had my car in ASAP!! And the girls in the office were so sweet, helpful, and funny!!!!! Call them for all your vehicle needs!!!!!!

The office staff is super friendly and the mechanics take their time to make sure the job is done correctly. We had our truck aligned somewhere else and were not happy and the manager would not call back. These guys got us in and aligned before we took the truck on vacation. We reccomend them to everybody, especially those who have a ram 5500 and have tire cupping issues.

I would like to thank Mal’s Auto & Truck Repair for being an honest business. My family members were travelling through Connecticut heading to a funeral down south. My car broke down late night on 95 close to Old Saybrook. We called AAA and they named Mal’s an approved auto repair center. Peter, the tow truck operator met us. He knew we needed a hotel so he dropped us of at one close by to Mal’s. That was really cool of him to do that. Next morning I spoke with Ed the owner and explained our situation with the funeral. He assured us he would have the repair done before noon, which he did, thank goodness. After that call we walked to the shop. We went into to the waiting area and the office manager, Amanda was incredibly hospitable and pleasant. She is also and honest woman too. We witnessed another customer overpay her for repair services. She had Harry her assistant run out and bring the customer back into the shop to give him his overage back. Amanda then offered us refreshments. Harry then asked if we needed a ride back to the hotel to get our bags realizing that it was almost check out time. We said absolutely and went and got our stuff. By the time we got back to Mal’s, my car was done. The service tech Mike met with me after a test drive and gave me detailed information on what was done to the car. The final price was extremely fair, if this was a shady establishment they probably would have charged double for service and taken advantage of our predicament. Mal’s is definitely not that type of business. I was very pleased with these guys, It was one of the best experiences I have ever had with any auto repair shop. These guys are definitely the best shop in Connecticut. It’s worth towing your vehicle the extra mile to get awesome service….Good Job!!!!

Mals is a great company. Not the best reason to need a local company, but very nice and professional drivers.

I was in town for a girls weekend and came out to my car in am to find a flat tire! Mals arrived in minutes and got the spare on in no time, then offered to repair tire and put back on even though the shop is closed on Sunday. Now I can drive safely home to New Jersey with no worries. Thank you Mals for fast and friendly service!!!!

My water pump failed on I-95 in Old Saybrook and I was towed by and serviced by Mals. They made a very stressful situation tolerable with their prompt service. They dropped me off at a local motel and were quick to service and diagnose my car. Both the repair tech and the tow driver were kind and understanding. After the tow back to my mechanic in NJ, they dropped me off at my house. Great people and a great company.

So my truck had a hiccup today and my insurance company assigned Mals. Uhm it was super muggy and darned near meltdown degrees today. The confirmation text said the driver would arrive within 60 minutes.Well 54 minutes later, Kyle arrives.Too cute with his safety uniform on. He had the nicest personality and soo personable. He explained everything step by step and had the truck up on the flatbed, lickety split. We had a really pleasant conversation on the way..Just based on this experience, I would recommend Mals without reserve.Oh did I mention this was the CLEANEST tow truck I have ever seen, in my life.Good luck with your baby to come... My car was dead as dead can be... Tim the service guy comes to my house and helps diagnose the issue (dead battery) and shows me how to remove the battery because BMW makes everything difficult. He leaves and I go to buy a new battery and when I return the trunk as closed..OMG no way to get in the trunk(which is where BMW stashes the battery).. I called Mals and asked if Tim could come back and he does then he stays and helps me get back into the trunk and makes sure the car is ok before running off to the next job. I cant say enough about the GREAT SERVICE we received and how respectful and kind Tim the road side guy was to my wife and I. I owe that man a cold one.

My car broke down yesterday, I had it towed to this place because the owner sounded really nice and helpful on the phone. They were closing at 5 and it was about 4:50 so we dropped the car off and came back today. When we went to see if they had found anything out, they told us they briefly looked at the vehicle and the engine was dead and they could only help us if we bought a new engine, they estimated 5,000+ (which is high for a used engine) Then we looked through our warranty on the car and found out a manufacture warranty that lasts up to 100,000 miles YAyy! So we got a tow truck to bring it to the Toyota dealership. THESE ASSHOLES CHARGED US FOR LABOR!! they barely looked at the car. and didnt do ANYTHING productive for us. This is supposed to be a good, family owned auto shop and they have no care or compassion for students in need of a little help. I WILL NEVER give my BUSINESS to them again. I will NOT tell my friends good things. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF.

I got into a crazy car wreck yesterday, and Mals showed up to tow me. Normally I am very wiery of tow yards because of all the nonsense and fees that you sometimes deal with. After the near death experiance of the crash, and the chaos that insues Miguel the driver was super helpful. He was super professional and made everything so much easier. We drove 70 miles back to where I live with my car and he was a cool guy to talk to for the ride. The shop was super clean/organized/profession. Getting a tow isnt always a great thing but was the best experiance so far.

Waited hours two extra hours then I was told to get my car towed I am highly dissatisfied with their service and I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone
