I had an AMAZING experience! They were beyond helpful to help correct the mistakes another salon made on my hair. Julia is great! She knew exactly what my thirsty hair needed, recommended salon quality inexpensive products and I even got a discount! You dont get better customer service than that. If you want to get to the root of your hair issues, then I recommend Roots Salon...the REAL experts!

Worst experience. I went to get my hair colored to much lighter and add highlights. The only thing I got was a foil highlight that barely changed the color of my hair and was outlandish if expensive. When I needed to go back to continue my color my appointment got rescheduled 3 times and then completely cancelled. Not a good salon!

I received my first cut from this salon. My stylist was Kay. She is awesome! Her dedication to providing an outstanding cut really showed. I noticed that she took the time to really understand my hair pattern. She took my advice and added her own inspiration to my new haircut. I am beyond impressed. Kay is talented with her hands and has a beautiful soul. I think I have found a stylist I can stay with. I love my new haircut. Thank you Kay!

First time I went I got a great haircut. Pricey but there was a deal for cut and color so I went back. It was a new hire who would do my hair. She gave me a horrible cut, color was dismal, not what we discussed or what I wanted. Apparently she used toner which added $34 to the bill without discussing the additional charges. So the discounted cut and color was $59. Plus $34 for the toner and a tip. Total spent was $115. You would think at the least I would have gotten an awesome cut for that & I presumed she would be working under the eye of a supervisor. I saw her confer with someone about the color but that person didnt speak to me. Management couldnt have cared less after the fact. Never going there again. I also would recommend paying in cash so if they jam some fees unexpectedly upon a person one can appropriately pay for what they agreed to pay.

I highly recommend Roots Salon. Sadie is my stylist, and she is incredible! I wanted a change, and she helped me figure out what would look good on me and did a fantastic job. She is very talented, knowledgeable, and professional. I had a great experience and will definitely be coming back!

Oak Creek Location - As a full time working mom of 3, its hard to find time to get your hair colored. I focus solely on gray hair coverage but Ive always enjoyed the escape and a bit of pampering. Ive been a returning customer for many years, but took a break to save money. I finally decide to come back and when I schedule the appointment we review the service needed over the phone and assumed they had my profile up to determine I am indeed a returning customer. I show up for my appointment this Saturday and come to find I was scheduled for a 15-min consultation. Sadly, the hostess could not trouble shoot and didnt offer a quick solution. She instead blamed the receptionist who took the reservation and claimed she was new. Disappointed to say the least and will not be returning for follow-up appointments.

Today was my first time trying this salon. I came in for a balayage correction from a previous salon. Krystal did an amazing job. On top of doing such an awesome job she was extremely cool and friendly. I highly recommend Roots Salon.

I dont normally leave reviews but this salon has wasted enough of my time why not spend 10 min putting together an honest review of this place. I am giving only one star based on my hair color experience with Megan, the manager follow up and how long I usually have to wait for my pre-scheduled appointments. Do not get your hair color done by Megan unless you want something you didnt ask for. She is very unsure of herself and doesnt deserve the title she has at all. I wanted her to bring up my blonde hair closer to the roots and instead she gave me 4 of uneven black/dark brown roots in PERMANENT hair dye. I never once said anything about wanting permanent hair color and also she never mentioned that she was putting permanent hair color on me. Isnt that like communication 101? Make sure your client is aware of what you are doing to them. I was turned around facing the back wall the whole time so I never had the opportunity to question her color that she was putting on me until it was too late. I didnt mind that she wasnt chatty with me but she never once said anything like do you need a drink or even provide any update on how the process is coming or whats the next step. I am so upset that my hair is now ruined because Ive never had PERMANENT hair color put on my hair, its much darker than my natural hair color so now that my hair is growing out it just looks silly. I left in tears and it took the manager about a day and a half to get back to me. I was told that Megan gave me permanent hair color because I said that I had grays I want to cover up. I laughed when I heard that because that is an outright lie. Im 29 and have never had grey hair yet. If I did I would for sure have been comfortable mentioning it but I simply dont have grey hair so its outrageous that Megans excuse was that I said I had grey hair.... wouldnt you see the grey hair if I did? The hair fix apt was rescheduled and it did end up looking better but was I happy, no, I was just less embarrassed. The manager is rarely in the salon and her solution was one free hair fix apt, although the problem that Megan caused could not be completely fixed with just one apt. So I scheduled a 2nd apt and was going to pay to have that done but just returned home because I was waiting for a half hour for an appointment that I scheduled a month ago. That is just too long to sit with a mask on, waiting for a scheduled appointment that is going to already take about 2+ hours. The manager never met with me to apologize in person or follow up over the phone, which I felt was very unprofessional. Ive been coming to this salon for a few years and was only unhappy with the services I received from Megan. But now that Ive had to wait to get my hair done to fix the issue again, Im just really upset. As a stylist, if you have scheduled appointments you should at least let the customer know that its going to be another 20+min, because as customers we do have lives we need to get back to. Im really disappointed that it came down to me needing to write a negative review about this salon. If youre getting hair color done I would highly recommend going somewhere else. Oh and pictures are attached of the terrible hair color showing the dark roots that Megan gave me in permanent hair dye.

My stylist was Kimberly! My first time at roots. I came in wanting all around blonde and she had looked at me and right away told me what she thinks. I couldn’t be any happier she did such an amazing job! Her personality and getting to know me was an amazing experience made me seem as if i been going there for years! I absolutely love her and recommend her she gave me a big boost of confidence and I feel absolutely beautiful! I had have my hair done for years at different places and going to roots was the best decision and i will continue for now on with her.

Was referred to this Salon and Autumn. First appointment for color. Friendly and professional staff from front desk to salon! No aggressive product or up selling! Simply informative. Autumn is amazing! Extremely talented and skilled. I knew what I wanted but wasn’t sure . It is a pretty drastic change for me. She walked me through the process so I knew exactly what to expect. It would be a process over time. Very patient and engaged. I absolutely LOVE the results of the first phase! So impressed the health of my hair is foremost here. I received so many compliments at work the next day! Can’t wait for phase 2. Full service salon too, Nails, Mani/Pedi, Facials. You can even schedule a service to have done while your hair is processing!!!

My final result and the picture i showed i wanted looked nothing alike. i had dirty blonde hair and they couldn’t lighten my hair to be a platinum blonde in one session when i know many people who have gotten from brown to platinum in one session. waste of your time and money

Had the best experience at Roots Salon in Oak Creek yesterday. Sarah did my hair and she always does a fabulous job. The ladies at the front desk during check-in and checkout were so sweet!! (Kori and the woman who checked me out.. her name started with a C! I wish I could remember) They were friendly and welcoming. The inside is spacious and clean. I love the open concept with the windows to let the natural light in. So nice to have a lovely salon like this one in my area. I will be back very soon and will recommend friends and family to come here!

The lady who cut my hair was extremely nice. The entire staff was awesome. But when I scheduled the appointment, I said that I wanted my hair washed, straightened and a trim. When I got there, they only had me schedulee for a hair cut. The stylist wanted to cut my hair wet and I have naturally curly hair that I do straighten. Granted, Im sure she knows more than I do about hair but I dont think cutting my hair curly would result in a good hair cut when straightened. When I left the salon, I had to flat iron my own hair when I got home to make it look better. Since the appointment was scheduled kind of wrong, maybe my hair would have looked better if I had the correct appointment.

Been to the salon a few times for a haircut, they did a good job. My wife made me an appointment for a facial, wasn’t completely on board with that one, but I actually really liked it. Would recommend Amanda. I’ll be going back and not just because all the girls are hot! :)👌🏽

Sarah Windler at Roots salon is amazing and never disappoints. Every time I walk out of the salon I am so happy with the turn out of my hair and I’ll keep going back to her as long as she’s there. She’s flexible with scheduling and she never turns down a challenge if I want to do something new. The salon is clean, the receptionist is always friendly when you walk in and when you’re leaving. They always offer you something to drink and if you see Sarah you are guaranteed great conversation during your stay!

My advice is, if you have thick hair, go elsewhere. If you have thin hair, this place is for you.The reason why I am giving Roots two stars is because I had absolutely no problem with the customer service there. I appreciated the tour of the salon and the friendliness of the staff. It is very clean, and the stylists were so friendly!Time for my cut, the stylist and I talked for a minute and discussed what I wanted (shoulder length, with tips touching the shoulder and layers, with a small V in the back) and showed a picture quickly because after my explanation, she got it. We started talking about the products she used on my hair and then, time for the cut. She cut my hair here and there, and then started blow drying my hair. At that time her next appointment had walked in through the door, and she asked her assistant to wash her next appointments hair. After she was half way done blow drying my hair, she proceeded to use the blade and thin out my hair (which I don’t mind since I have thick and curly hair, I appreciated the thinning). After my hair was dried, I asked her to cut a half inch more since it was longer than what I wanted. That request went right out the door because the assistant was done washing her next appointments hair, so she just showed me the products she used and done, I bought two of the products she suggested, I paid and left. I went home, styled my hair the way I normally do, the hair was way past my shoulder, the front was uneven; I had no layers, instead it kind of looked chopped. This was January 6… I am still not in love with my hair. :(I TRULY wanted to like the place, but I cancelled all my future appointments, and will never go there again.

My consult before cut and color was the most comprehensive Ive ever experienced. I never felt I was being rushed though the ship was very busy. Kudos to Jayne for being friendly professional, and delivering more than I ever hoped for

Went in for a last minute haircut. Not only are there stray hairs all over that the stylist missed, but she felt the need to cut my eyebrows and she only cut 1 because she said she saw a long hair but when I got home in different lighting I could see she trimmed half down to nothing and it looks terrible as she left the other untouched. Its been a day and already 2 different people have asked me if I burned off my eyebrow. Not worth the money, and wish I hadnt tipped. Wont be back.

I’ll start off by saying the only decent thing about this place was the receptionist...she was helpful, knowledgeable, caring... but pretty much every other aspect of this salon, especially the woman who did my hair was AWFUL! I asked for a full highlight and I don’t think my hair changed at all and I’ve had it highlighted all my life and it was done on completely new healthy hair. I initially told her I have a lot of hair so my scalp isn’t too sensitive well apparently she took that as I had no feeling whatsoever in my scalp bc when she washed my hair she yanked on it like no tomorrow, she ripped through it with a comb, and as she flat ironed it she was getting my hair stuck on the base of her iron so it literally ripped and broke my hair every time she pulled it through. When I left my hair was super frizzy and she used no products! Now for someone with a tougher scalp to be in that much pain should speak for itself. So when I went to check out, I was already starting to cry between the pain and the fact that basically nothing was done to my hair...I was then told I had to pay for my service, which I do understand but it was over 100$ and I was told I could POSSIBLY get a discounted service in the future...then after I called and complained I was told a manager would be calling me back within a day or two and that was over a week ago. So I left in tears, crying in my car in the parking lot, was told I would be given other options like a refund or something and I just never heard from anyone again.I would NEVER recommend anyone go here, I’m not naming the hair stylist as I feel the entire salon is represented by its staff so I feel the entire salon is at fault. I got no follow up, no options, and I left in tears. DO NOT go to this salon ever.

Everyone at Roots Salon is fantastic. They are really nice and offered everything they had. They have a very nice and calming environment. My hairstylist always goes above and beyond to exceed my expectations.

Will not go back My first experience and the receptionist insisted on giving me a tour- its a one room salon and I was not there to buy the place, I was there to have my hair done .I politely stated no thank you for the tour but she continued to take me. This is the only salon I have ever been to where you are crammed into the chairs sitting right next to each other like cattle. The stylists have to mix the color right next to the patrons. While getting my hair washed I had to make sure they didnt trip over my feet as the foot rests stick out into the walkway. Very obvious the owner is trying to cram as many stylists in a small area as possible - not a relaxing experience at all!

I needed a major color correction on my hair and Aracely pulled off a miracle. I loved my new color. Evis has been wonderful at maintaining my new color and style. I enjoy getting pampered with every visit.

My first time here and already not impressed. Appointment is at 10 am I show up on time, now its 10:12 still waiting. Front desk to loud, pretty girl with black hair really loud I couldnt hear girl that was helping me at all . Got there door was locked by accident by little girl that was inside, but front desk didnt bother to open it even they saw me standing outside. So not so impressed. 10:15 still waiting 😳

This is the 2nd time I’ve been to a Roots Salon. First time was the one in Brookfield three years ago and the one in Oak Creek 4 months ago. After both experiences at these RootsSalons.... I can honestly say that I will never go to another Roots Salon again. I was argued with about the haircut I wanted from a stylist in Brookfield and when I walked out of the salon in Oak Creek, I looked way worse than I did when I walked in. The reason I gave 1 star is the $9 conditioning treatment was the only thing that was good about my service at Oak Creek.

Hey Roots - it makes me very sad to write this review. I had established a relationship with Kaytlyn. She patiently helped me grow my hair back after I decided to cut it off while in a really dark period of my life.For about a year, I contemplated coloring the hair that took awhile to grow back. I was feeling better about myself, and embraced the idea of doing something new. In February, I decided to take the plunge. Before doing so, I asked Kaytlyn, on several occasions, over the course of the year, if doing a fashion color was practical, considering the texture of my hair, etc. Kaytlyn assured me that my hair could be colored, with desired results.The first time that Kaytlyn colored, all of the fashion color washed out as she was rinsing my hair.I came back a week later. At this time, Kaytlyn both processed my hair again, but also clarified my hair while washing it, in hopes that my hair cuticle would “open up” enough to take the fashion color chosen.This time, some of the color (purple) stick, but as I left Roots, after the second processing, Kaytlyn told me that if the color washed out after the first wash, I should call, and the cost for service would be refunded to me.I waited a week and a day to wash my hair. I used the high priced dry shampoo that Kaytlyn sold me on three occasions, during this week, to keep my unwashed hair looking like I wasn’t in need of a shower.When I washed my hair the first time, after the second processing, it was so dry, and so brittle that it literally balled up on my head, and I had to use a little kids detangling spray just to be able to run a comb through it.After my hair dried, I was shocked and disappointed by what it looked like. In some places, where the fashion color washed out, my hair was white, and dry, and brittle. In some places the all over color washed out. In some places, my light brown hair is an over-processed blonde color. It’s horrible and embarrassing, and I honestly really just want to cut my hair off again.What makes this worse is when I called Kaytlyn, instead of issuing a refund, as promised, she told me my only option was to come in for more corrective coloring.Then, today, when I was running late for the second corrective color appointment, I called ahead to say that I would be in for my 3:00 pm appointment at 3:15, and was told that I would have to reschedule.As I write this, I’m in tears. I’ve been a customer of Kaytlyn’s since she was a level one stylist, and have referred friends to her. I was impressed with her drive and desire to do good work. And now I’m disappointed.But mostly, I’m disappointed with the management at Roots. I have emailed about this situation. I have called looking for a resolution. And none of my correspondence has been addressed. And now, I’m out a total of $170 with service, product and tip, and am doing my very public job with terrible and embarrassing looking hair. And how Roots has handled this, corporately, is shameful.

I went to the Oak Creek location twice now, the first time the whole experience was very awkward. I went to get a hair cut and when i sat down the lady just started cutting my bangs without doing a wash or anything which is not at all what i wanted so i left feeling very confused and angry. i decided to give it another chance since its at a very convenient location for me, this time i met with a different stylist who was very nice and she listened to what i wanted and my hair cut turned out very nice. however, i felt very uncomfortable and the stylist seemed semi rushed. midway through the hair cut she stops and tells me she has to check on her other client. i was very confused as to why she would have two clients at once but i let it go. throughout the rest of the styling she kept leaving to check on her other client and i could tell she was getting agitated and was very rushed and eventually asked another stylist to finish with her other client. This is now twice that ive been at this location with 2 different stylists and both times i felt like i didnt have the full attention of the stylist. as much as i love how convenient the location is, at this point i would rather drive further just to get a decent experience.

Usually go to an Aveda salon. Thought i would try something different. Figured the fact that the prices were 15 to 30 percent higher than at the Aveda salon meant that my hair would look amazing. But my husband could not even tell i had my hair done and he always complimented me every time i had it done. But no complaints overall lesson learned wont be back or sending my ppl

I am a picky man when it comes to my hair. The check in process was clunky. I had to answer a dozen questions...frustrating the first time, but when I cam back for my appointment I got answer them all over again. The stylist was nice and personable. Im not there for the chat though. I feel she was somewhat at a loss on what to do with my hair. The finished product was ok. But not the best cut by far. She made a half attempt to style my hair at the end. Came up miserably short and made me feel a little awkward. As I am looking at my hair and trying to figure out what kind of style she was trying to fix me up with....she asked if I needed anything else. I said nope and stood up and went to pay. She mentioned a few shampoos and conditioners during the cut I would have been interested in, but no mention of those as I was ready to pay. At checkin, she asked how I had heard of them. I mentioned my wife has been in before and she said in that case, I get half off. I had no idea what full price was so half off was cool. To make things more uncomfortable, I have to say my tip amount outloud. No writing it. I have to say it. Not cool. I left a decent tip and left. After telling my wife about the experience and my ok cut she asked how much it was. We look at it was $27. Assumption is the cut must regularly priced at $54. Lol. We arent in NY or LA so that seemed a little much. Checked the website and it was $27. Oh well. No half price, ok cut, and awkward experience. I am sure they will get it together eventually.
