John has been our tailor for over 10 years - even before he opened his own shop. The quality of his work is impeccable and the service offered by John and his staff is excellent. From jeans to suits to dresses, my wife and I have never been disappointed, which is why we continue to go to John no matter where weve lived in New York City. Even with Bloomingdales offering free alterations on jeans, we still go to John as we know the work will be done right. The quality and service is great and the prices are very reasonable. What more can you ask for?

Im posting this review as a person that is contemptuous and I have given them opportunity to correct the wrong they have done to me. But they decided not to. I have given them a couple of suits to do some tailoring. Both of them were messed up. One suit needed the 2 sides to be taken in, they did a mediocre job. When finished the front is wrinkled as not straight at all. For the second suit, it puzzles me how they managed to mess up the sleeves they were supposed to lengthen, they put some fabric underneath( I have never seen that in my entire life), making them bulky and visible to the naked eye. The pants needed the waist to be fixed but, picture this: they went to the back, open the waist band and put it in together to reduce it, creating a bubble in the back. Overall I have always had my suits altered and tailored to fit me but in my entire life never seen work done so badly. This means I will have the work done again by someone else and it will cost me more. They are unprofessional, as I requested them to fix the work, they refused categorically and told me to get lost. Advice to anybody thinking of using their service: I ABSOLUTELY DONT RECOMMEND THIS SHOP. THE ABSOLUTE WORST EXPERIENCE I EVER HAD. IF YOU THINK YOU ARE HAVING A GOOD DEAL BECAUSE OF THE PRICING, IT WILL COST YOU MORE BECAUSE SOMEONE ELSE IS GOING TO FIX THEIR WORK

I want to give less star than 0.I ordered my pants to replace zipper. the price was $50, and I paid.When I got my pant, the zippers direction was switched.So, I complained this, and I showed pictures of evidence. I have had this pant for one month, so I have proof.However, they just avoided the evidence and moment even though I have the pictures.They just told me.You gotta pay this whether you bring hundred or thousand pictures of evidence if you want re-fix this. I dont care of you bring pictures Also, the owners son threatened me.Moreover, my girl friend called them to complain this, but they just hung off the phone.Are they friendly? I dont think so.Therefore, Im gonna sue a small claim suit claim now. I will do everything I can do.This is not for money. They made me and my girl friend upset.They should have respected customer. They should have had manner for customer.Be careful everybody. Dont use here.Bye.

Been coming here for years. For a guy, there is no better place to get your clothes tailored, period. They know how to stitch very well, they knew appropriate cuts / lengths for your body, they can work with you on getting the fit you want. If you have a bad experience here then its because you have no idea what you want, if you have someee idea, they will absolutely nail it.

These guys do such a great job and are so sweet. Ive been coming here for a couple years and theyre always on point. Im always happy with the work and its nice to have them in the neighborhood.

If you buy your jeans at Bloomies and walk over to Johns - theyll shorten them in the time it takes you to go have a coffee. Awesome service, nice people -- good work.

Horrible business. They ruined a pair of pants and were extremely rude when I tried to talk to them about fixing the situation. The son is ruining his fathers business. As someone who also works in a family business, I always do my best to keep my customers happy and returning. This place is the worst. Go to ignacio or regency.

After going here for over a year and spending a lot of money.. they acted with absolutely no integrity. What a joke. they lost the belt to a jacket i own. I reported it to them when i tried to wear it a couple weeks later - and i brought back the jacket to the store and was told dont worry theres no reason we wouldnt find it.then they went on vacation or something and finally delivered my jacket two weeks or so later- without a belt with a note sorry but your belt was not found. you should have notified us sooner. Thank youWow.. no, thank you for being not helpful and then telling me its MY FAULT. right, i shouldnt have trusted my belongings with you i guess it IS my fault.
