EDITED review: My first review was under a diff email when I visited for the first time. After visiting Wilfred’s for the SECOND time, I was sadly disappointed….While the QUALITY is good and they are pretty speedy when it comes to fixing your clothes, I felt the tailor / owner (?) was a bit racially insensitive when I was giving him my contact information for my order. (Note: we did not meet during my first visit).After filling out my name and phone, he looked at it, looked at me with a puzzled look on his face, and was like “Cummings?…Is that your married name?” I then replied with “…No.” This was followed by silence, and a still-puzzled look on his face - like he was waiting for me to explain myself.I’m Asian American, but living in a city like NYC where there is LOTS of diversity, I expect more respect. His question was also a bit sexist as he is assuming “I’d just take the husband’s last name”. If I were a man, I doubt he would have asked me ‘how I got my last name.’Another way of interpreting this could be that he wanted to know if I was married or not. This is also NOT appropriate when I am your customer, and we have never met before.Regarding the dress I got tailored, I had them fit it during my visit (the bust was too large), but then after picking up and trying on at home, I found that the dress became a LITTLE tight in the waist/back area (which was not the case during my fitting session). This was not great, as it had fit perfectly at the waist before. The dress was for later that night so I did not have time to have this fixed.Unfortunately, it seems I need to find a new tailor. If you do go here, you will get fast service that is pretty good quality. However, BE AWARE of the people you are giving your money to.

Convenient, timely, and they do a great job! The prices are awesome too. I recently had a bridesmaids dress altered and a few damages fixed on some other items of clothing I had. Everything was done in the time I needed it to be done and it was done just as I had asked. Will definitely be back.

The best of the best! I’ve been with them since 2013 and they’ve never let me down or told me something wasn’t possible. After having a baby and being a stay at home mom for 2.5 years I finally decided to go back to the office in 2018. As any mom knows my body had changed and my old suit dresses while gorgeous and well made didn’t quite fit me in the same way. I had two choices: try to get them altered or spend thousands on a new work wardrobe. I decided to give tailoring a go and since Wilfred’s had been miracle workers in the past I figured why not. I brought in about 8 work dresses. Wow! Wow! Wow! They turned them all around in a little over a week and they all fit!!! Because I looked good in my interviews, I felt fantastic and I nailed every interview I went in for reviving multiple offers. I will keep coming back here time and time again! Look no more, this is your tailor - for life!

One of the finest tailors I have been to. They are professional, patient, and pay great attention to detail. Although they require payment upfront, this was not an issue as they will work with you how many times necessary, to make sure you are satisfied.I personally required a difficult procedure done on my shoulders, which was too large and created divots. Although it required a couple coming backs, the end result was fantastic.This place is on the expensive side, but their work reflects this, and I would advise anyone to stop by, who are either in need of simple quality tailoring, or complex tailoring solutions that only top-end places such as Wilfred’s Tailoring can handle.

Fantastic service. I needed the sleeves of my suit jacket shortened, but I wanted it taken from the shoulder, not the cuff. They did a fantastic, seamless job that no one could tell. And the cost was completely worth the money. Cant wait to go back for more tailoring.

For adjusting a jacket or trousers they can adjust just about everything, if necessary even rebuild. Someone with expertise will analyze the changes necessary while you wear the item and if something isnt right do it again the next time. Be careful to check or measure as the changes that are pinned, since their approach is to eyeball a bit. Prices are similar to Alan David and other nearby options. Most changes can be done within a week or two and they were never late. Id go back.
