This is without a doubt the best barbershop Ive visited.I was searching for a place that did classic haircuts, and I read about this on google. I set up an appointment easily, and was able to book something for the same day. The gentleman that cut my hair is named Patricio, and hes an excellent barber. He took his time and ensure that I had the best haircut possible. I walked in looking like a 100 bucks and walked away looking like a million.Great staff, great atmosphere, I can not recommend this place enough.

My fiancé introduced me to this Barber shop a year and a half ago and have been coming back ever since. All the employees are so warm they make everyone feel like family. Once you go York you can’t go back. This business is run perfect, Enrique is one of the best small business owners in NYC and Lolita is the best and gives me a great haircut. I had my hair short fir 8 years. The stylist that recreated my new look in 2010 was no longer cutting Hair. This was a very High profile stylist within the Music & Acting industry. I let my hair grow long from 2015 through 2021. I decided to cut it off and now in a new search because based on my many experiences It was hopeless to find ANY ONE that could even come close to the stylist I had from 2007 through 2015. I went to TWO different stylist in Chelsea who was horrible ( these were not barbers but alleged Proffesionals). To my tears and heartache my first cut was in April 2021, horrible he did not listen and cut my hair as if he was trimming a TREE. End results my hair grew out with spikes. So I prayed for the right stylist.. seriously! I was walking on Lexington Ave when I noticed in the window this woman cutting hair with a scissors hand held, ( not like a tree) … she was very stylish and the entire staff was so welcoming.. I told MARU**** what I needed she looked at my hair and knew Exactly what damaged was caused. I made an appointment to come on Friday, as I left I came back and asked to be serviced if possible. I had a sudden inner confidence in MARU that I can’t explain. We connected, she was Funny, inspiring and just the BEST…..then WHALA” not only did MARU do an amazing Job, she outbeat ANY stylist I had. I left so happy that I’m just thankful. MARU YOU ROCK!!!!!

I wanted to use a gift certificate from York Barber Shop, with a business card attached to it. I thought it was odd that there was no value or expiration date included, but I called and provided them with the certificate number and a picture. They rudely refused to accept it and blamed me for their staff selling a blank certificate. As a matter of good business they should have at least offered a haircut. It would have been a small gesture that would have gone a long way. Instead they were rude and refused to accept any responsibility. So much for trying to support small businesses.

My Son (9 years old) and myself had reservations this morning first thing. We were very late getting there. However, we were both able to receive our haircuts by Patricio. Superior service for an outstanding haircut! We were both blown away. Thank you!

This barbershop offers great service, friendly barbers and has a very nice decor. Unfortunately I had a negative experience here. I requested a trim and re-iterated several times that I was growing my hair out and just wanted the sides and back trimmed a little. I even showed the barber a picture of the hairstyle I was trying to achieve. Despite this, the barber took off most of my hair with little regard for what I requested

I’ve been going to York for over 3 years and have always had a positive experience. My previous barber has since moved on, however I now get haircuts by Maru and she’s a true professional. Note, it’s a bit pricey for a haircut but I still consider it to be worth it. I visited this week and fully appreciate the enhanced cleaning, health and safety measures York has implemented. Had a haircut this morning from Uncle Mike. Really terrific experience, very classy feeling in the shop. Small details made a big difference, like the case for my eyeglasses on his stand while he cut my hair. His scissorwork was quick but careful and he did a fantastic job shaping my cut. The warm shaving foam and light shave around the ears and back of the neck was an enjoyable conclusion to a wonderful haircut. The hot towel before and after the cut was also quite relaxing. I would go back most definitely - thanks Uncle Mike.

The barbers here are all highly skilled. You can just see how precise they cut customers hair and not to mention they are all very polite and friendly as well

A really nice barber shop where you can tell that youre going to get a good cut. The didnt skimp on the barber shop nostalgic chachkees at York and the seats are very comfortable. I only gave 3 stars because $72 for a nothing special haircut and shave is robbery.

Ive consistently gotten excellent cuts from every barber there as guys Ive used there have come and gone. I dont live nearby anymore but make the trek uptown. Old school vibe, friendly barbers a plus. Not exactly cheap but worth it.

I have now had my hair cut at several barbers in the city and out of state, as well. I can honestly say that York is my favorite. Thats about as simple as I can put it to you. Maybe a touch on the expensive side but youll get a good hair cut. My barber is Tony and I can speak to his professionalism and ability. Ive never gotten a bad haircut from him. In fact, twice now, I have brought him a messed up haircut from other places and he has cleaned it up.All best in your search!

I asked for a fade with my top to be trimmed down keeping length in the front. This barber butchered my hair and now I look like a porcupine. Do not go here if you value your hair.
