Phenomenal service and experience. Recently moved to the city recently from out of state. Oliver cut my hair and was incredibly detail oriented and I love my cut.As a guy you often have to choose between someone who knows how to fade and someone who can actually cut hair. Not the case here. Oliver did an incredible job and Ill definitely come back.

I love this place. Always feels like an oasis from it all and the level of detail by everyone is truly appreciated. I love being able to book online and appreciate each barber/stylist does their very best to keep the schedule on track! They try to accommodate walk-ins but take those that bothered to book in advance as the priority.

Good haircut. Disingenuous experience.Ive gotten my haircut at this place 3x. Theyve always given me a good haircut, but Ive been really disappointed by the experience.The 2nd time I got a haircut there, it cost $40 more than the first time. When I asked why, they said it was because I had a 45 minute cut. I thought that was weird because i didnt ask for that, I just asked for a haircut. The 3rd time I made sure to select 30 minutes online in the booking. When asked if I wanted scissors or a razor, I said scissors and they gave me and charged me for the 45 minute haircut without telling me scissors meant a 45 minute haircut. I brought up that I thought this was weird they didnt tell me I was opting in for a more expensive experience and saw no remorse from the staff member. I will not be coming back here despite the quality product.

Ive had my hair cut by Rolin and Ryan both, and theyre fantastic. The ambiance and level of service is great. I find myself very welcomed here but it never takes too long and it feels like an efficient operation. I can also trust their opinions on cuts and feel comfortable letting them do their thing. Cant imagine myself going anywhere else.

Marcus and Rolin have cut my hair for a decade and I can assure you that this is the BEST barber service anywhere. I can say that because I travel with great frequency and often have longer stays in the major US Cities where I must settle for a standard easily two stars below what Marcus offers. Yes, they are not cheap by comparison but the service and attention to detail more than justify the price. Save yourself the time and go to Barbering By Marcus. Lastly I will add that I am a black man and they handle my hair with a level of care and attention to detail I have not seen anywhere. If you read any accusations on this feed that they are not accessible to people of color, these could not be more untrue. Trust me, you will not be disappointed.

Ive been going to Marcus for a little over a year now, and I will never go to a different barber. If customer service is important to you, then this shop is your best bet. I usually get a haircut and shave when I visit the shop and I walk out feeling great. Marcus makes sure that you are well taken care of while youre in there. They offer you drinks such as coffee, tea, or water. Whatever you ask for, they will try to get. Their cuts are amazing. Whatever you want your hair to look like, they make it happen. They take pride in their services, which is important to me. Its clean and always being tidied by the assistants. They wash your hair thoroughly, which is a plus for me. While youre getting a shave, they make sure they dont nick you and apply scented hot and cold towels on your face. They do some facial massaging, which is always a good feeling. Honestly, the price is a little steep at $85 for a cut and shave. Compared to a crappy $40 shave and cut at other barber shops, I would rather spend the extra money. They provide better service, they allow appointments, they are clean, and they actually know how to cut your hair. If your haircut is usually done with only a buzzer, then this place is not for you. If your hair requires the use of scissors, and you are particular with your hair, then give this place a try. Id be surprised if you walked out disappointed. And you never walk out with hair on your neck and face! 👍🏻 ✂️

I see Ryon and Im hesitant to recommend him because I dont want you to steal his time from me! I have been seeing him for years now. He gives me haircuts that make me feel great, and because we have built a relationship and rapport I completely trust him. I dont even have to tell him what I want when I sit down because he knows I trust him. Im type one diabetic and tonight when I saw him my blood sugar dropped in the middle of my hair cut. He took such great care of me and was so hospitable. Thanks for taking care of me, Ryon! In more ways than one!

Came to this place after reading these reviews.I have a mid-long hair and prefer to have only scissors cut.First time I didn’t explain the way to cut my hair and just showed a picture, hoping that it would be quite enough for a stylist in that kind of pricy place. When he finished my haircut wasn’t even close to what I was showing.As far as I’m a stupid and reflexive, I decided that the picture is not enough and I need to explain what I want to so called barberist.Since more than a month I came there for the second time, explained my haircut in details and said exactly what to do. He did absolutely the same short haircut as he did a month ago.I got outta there in total madness with strong understanding that they make a haircuts in one certain pattern and that’s it. The place is pricy just because of the location and their service, not due to flexible professionals.This is my subjective review but still if you have a mid or long haircut I would definitely NOT recommend this place

Oliver babered my hair today in what was my first appointment in this place. He is a great baber and a gentleman and cut my hair with extreme precision. But he is not a stylist. I walked in hoping to have a stylish haircut, but I just walked out with regular seeming haircut. I tried to explain to him but him and Marcus would not add any style element to it. They offered to have my hair cut again if I bring a picture of what Im looking for. Thats generous but I walked out feeling disappointed for the price I paid.

Ive never had a barber with such a high level of detail. Im used to rushed haircuts with plain results. Marcus and his team go well beyond to give a fresh look.Im never going anywhere else.

Ive been going to Ryon for about 10 months since moving to NYC. Every haircut has been nothing less than perfect every time. The place is always very clean and everyone there is friendly and professional. This is the only place Ill go to.

Waaay overpriced and totally under performed. I am an African American and they have several Barbers of color, who claim to be masters at their craft, the environment is pleasant, the prelude to the haircut is nice, but the actual haircut was garbage! On the recommendation of the owner Marcus, I was serviced by a Barber who claimed he had years of experience, but this was not reflected in the end result, and I was charged $100+, for what should have been a simple sunburst fade mohawk and beard trim, that ended up looking more like a blunt bowl cut. It was not worth the money, nor the time. Unless you are a person with wavy to straight hair, and you dont mind paying more than $80 dollars for location, ambiance and a simple haircut and beard trim, dont bother. I have kinky hair, and clearly they have no real experience with my hair type. So Im sticking with my Dominican brothers in the Bronx & Yonkers, who provide a good environment with GREAT SERVICE for UNDER $30. Big Up and Much Love and Respect to Aldo of Aldos Barber Shop at 300 New Main Street in Yonkers, I ALWAYS enjoy the experience and I ALWAYS leave looking So Fresh and So Clean, Clean!!! Barbering By Marcus, was an extreme disappointment and, Lord willing, IM NEVER GOING BACK!To Recap and Respond to the owners response to My Review, HELL NO, I WAS NOT SATISFIED. I left in a cordial and diplomatic way, not wanting to create a scene or disturb your customers. So I would greatly appreciate it if youd refrain from telling ME about MY experience. The only correction to my original post should be where I referred to my haircut as a sunburst fade with a mohawk, A truly experienced barber (Twan, from Levels, West 125th street) corrected me, its a South of France haircut, but you and your barbers didnt know that, even after I showed threeof you (including Oliver) at least 2 pictures. So cut the Bull$#!+ Bro. Check any of my reviews, ALL of them are fair and honest, your just angry because I hit the nail on the head with my review. Your shop is not geared to People of Color with kinky hair. Keep it real, and accept that you cant please everyone. Be happy you got 1 star from me!!!
