Danny is the best, I am never trusting anyone else with my hair. This is my second time coming, and Danny pays attention to the details, takes his time, and always listens. Cuts are consistent, vibe is fun and relaxing, and the music is always great. Getting the perfect haircut here is an experience I look forward to, not just a haircut.

I always get my haircut and beard done by Albert. He is incredible and books all my appointments when I tell him in advance so I don’t ever have to wait. He does such a great job every single time. The owner Johnny is awesome too. Great people and I would highly recommend. The music is great and the warm towel at the end is very refreshing and relaxing after a fresh cut. Honestly there is no where else I would ever get my hair cut in Manhattan!!!! I’ve been going to Trimmed for years now and every time I leave with the freshest fade and a smile on my face. This is a great little barbershop with a fun laid-back vibe. Danny gives some of the best cuts I’ve had ... and I’m an older guy with thinning hair. I’ve been going to Danny for the past 5 months, and his cuts never disappoint. He is very detail oriented, takes time with your look, and is consistently spot on from month to month. In addition to that, he’s just a decent and fun guy to chat with.

This is a nice barbershop with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Elias is a great barber and I’ve always been very happy with his service. Three stars because of the payment policies. You commit the payment in advance and risk paying for a service you won’t get if you show up like 3’ late or need to cancel less than an hour in advance.

I went at 5:18pm on a Saturday. They close at 6pm however the barber told me they were done taking customers. There was no one waiting. The barber was working on a client who looked pretty far advanced on their cut. I didn’t see the owner so not sure if this particular barber wanted to finish extra early to get his weekend started early.

I have been searching high and low for my barber. I have been in NYC 13 years and couldn’t find a consistent and talented barber for my hair. Elias is the guy. Not only is he talented but he is kind and professional. Huge props to the Trimmed team. Just good guys!

I have been going to see Elias every six weeks for over a year and a half, and the guy cuts hair very well. However, I have had numerous appointments with him during that time that he has called me after I schlepped from 192nd St to say he was running 45 late because of traffic or because he was hungover or because of xyz reason. No problem, life happens, I’ve shrugged it off and rescheduled. Today I arrived at the barbershop at 10:03 AM for a 10 AM appointment to get a lecture about how I need to be on time. He’s consistently exercised poor customer service judgment, and between that and his all-too-typical misogynistic banter in a seemingly queer friendly place, I am happy to patronize any of the other hundreds of barbershops in the city for a fade or a trim.

GREAT FADES ALL AROUND!... A lot of times I’m on the go and need to book the day of. I told my barber Danny that I had an appointment in 45 minutes. He visibly made an effort to cut my hair and have me out the door 40 minutes. These are the kind of things I appreciate. Great cut too. looking forward to seeing what he does when I am able to give him a longer amount of time for the cut.

Incredibly unprofessional. Johnny cancelled my appt an hour before my time, that I made a week ago. I called and he says ‘someone took your spot, my system is acting up’. Then shouldn’t he be canceling the other guys appt? He says ‘I don’t want to deal with calls like this’. Now I’m stuck with finding a new barber hrs before an important event.

10/10 experience, great atmosphere and vibes inside. Professional but chill. All the guys in there seem very skilled, but I always go with my main guy, Albert. He kills it every time. Cuts it exactly how I ask, always remembers the stories I tell him and asks me about the stuff he remembers, which gives the cut a nice personal touch. Never left disappointed.

Unprofessional. I came in and got an appointment with the owner. He was all the time on his phone, doesn’t look happy or welcoming at all. Plus I paid too much for what I got, the fade was not even equal on both side and the beard shape was all messy and the lines not even straight.

I recently moved to the city and have been searching for a great barbershop. I definitely think Trimmed is the shop for me. The shop is welcoming and cozy inside—as a LGBTQ+ person this was super important to me. Johnny did a great job on the haircut. Great barbershop. They just got themselves a new regular. Its really tough to find an affordable, competent head shave in the city, but theyve got it. I also have pretty particular instructions for my beard that most barbers struggle with, but they handled it with ease.I was hesitant to go into a new place but it turns out theyve been in the neighborhood for a while - just a new location. I got an appointment with the barber NATHAN and it was the worst cut that I’ve had got in my life. A lot of waves in the cut and the worst fade. My appointment was at 12:15 pm but when I arrive he was talking and talking while he was cutting to the last client. Finally he take me 20 min after my time booked. Then he took around 40 min fading but I had to stop it because it was terrible. Seems nice barbershop but this man is not.

Elias is hilarious and takes a lot of pride in his work. I’m always satisfied with his work. The vibe of the place is awesome. Gay friendly, music is always fun, feels like a tight knit community when I’m there.

Incredibly unprofessional. I called to set up an appointment and was asked to make it online. I made my appointments online for both of my visits and was still asked to wait behind walk ins. What is the point in making an appointment if it will not be honored? And when I asked for a refund the barber implied part of the blame was on me for having made the reservation not too long before the appointment. Im sorry, I didnt realize than an open appointment slot comes with unspoken restrictions that I somehow have to be aware of. The shop has no respect for your time and I will not be returning. Unless you have an extra hour outside of the agreed upon time this barber shop is not worth your time or money.

I went to trimmed right before I left on vacation last minute, I had never seen him before so I wasn’t sure what it was gonna be. I came in, I told him my usual style, said hi to his adorable puppy. He sat me down got started it turned ot great. He really made sure to go over every part and make sure it was even. What was more is I told him i’m growing out the top of my hair, most barbers have gotten this wrong and cut too much off instead of just trimming it, not Elias though. If you’re looking for someone who’s time and effort into his work is really shows, Elias is the guy. I got so many compliments on vacation

On Friday February 26, 2021, stopped by this place for the first time, to get a haircut. While I was outside scanning the QR code to make an appointment, one o the barbers came out and told me that if I needed a haircut there was a 40 minute wait. I told him that it was fine with me and asked him if I still needed to complete the booking online. He said it was not necessary and to just come back in 40 minutes. I went fo a coffee nearby just to wait and about 30 minutes later I stood outside just waiting for my turn. The guy saw me and came out to tell me he wouldn’t take me because he had just received an appointment online. I told him then why he said I didn’t need a booking and why he asked me to come back 40 minutes later ? Not only was it a waste of my time but a gross disregard and disrespect to what we had agreed earlier.Will not give my money to that business. If that’s the way you guys conduct business, Good luck.

Johnny has been cutting my hair for years. I lived in Hartford Connecticut in the past and would travel from Hartford to nyc just to have my haircut by this guy. He has a great spirit/vibe about him. He listen to what you have to say regarding your haircut. His barbershop is pleasant and clean! I love the ceiling wallpaper that they installed. The color of the barber chairs definitely bounce off the ceiling wallpaper. If you have doubts about coming into his barbershop, don’t! You will be in good hands.

Trimmed HK is my favorite barber shop of all time. Johnny is extremely talented, professional and engaging. He delivers very high-end haircuts for a fraction of the price. Contrary to one or two bad actors, who posted extremely unfair reviews, Trimmed is extremely clean, sanitary and goes above and beyond CDC/City/State health/safety guidelines.

Johnny is the best barber I have found in NYC. Since moving here, I have tried at least over 10 places and was not satisfied with any! I especially felt as though some of the shops I walked into were just immediately judging me for not being macho. Johnny creates a safe space for everyone, but especially the LGBT community as a whole. Been here a few times, and will continue to come back for as long as hes around!

I stumbled across Trimmed on my block when Johnny opened earlier this year. Having been to a number of barbershops in Boston and NYC, Trimmed is hands down the best Ive been to. Appointments are easy to book and on time, Johnny has a genuine interest in great conversation, and before you know it hes given you an awesome haircut in 20 minutes flat. Ive been to many in Chelsea and here in Hells Kitchen and can confidently say you wont be disappointed.
