The barbershop does a really great job on all hairstyles. It’s always hard for me to find a good barber but finally found one in Erol. Excellent quality for price, especially in midtown. Nice, quality chairs. 10/10 would recommend.

Erol is the absolute best barber I have been to in New York. I have lived here for 5 years and have been to a handful. He is so precise with what your request/ask is. I have had over 50 haircuts with Erol and each time, I walk out saying that this is the best haircut I’ve received in my life. He is also an amazing conversation, makes you feel at home and gives you the best service possible.

Had the luck of finding this place right before they were about to close for the day. Netta was happy to stay longer and gave me a much needed haircut. She was kind, knowledgeable and very friendly. Would definitely be back.

I used to come to this spot when it was Eddys barbershop. After a change in ownership (due to Covid) and rebranding by the new owner, Erol, the shop is even better than before. Erol never rushes, has spruced the place up and made it more clean, and is friendly and engaging to talk to. Highly recommend to those looking for a regular barber in the Midtown East / Murray Hill / Kips bay area.

I moved to the city about a year ago and just couldnt find the right barber to fit my style. About a few weeks back I decided to check out Makas Barbershop. Man was a glad I came here! Erol cut my hair exactly the way I wanted. I go every 2 weeks for a cut now. Nice place, great service, and most important my satisfaction. I would recommend Makas Barbershop to everyone.

Stylist was rude and inconsiderate for others time. She made an appointment with me, took a walk in in the meantime and pushed my appointment back an hour. I recommend going to this place if you want to be treated with disrespect and rudeness.

Erol is hands down the best in NYC. He has been cutting my hair for over 4 years, and every time I visit I walk away feeling like a rock star. The shop has a great atmosphere and the staff are extremely friendly.I once had to go to another shop in a pinch (never again), which only made me more excited to return to Erol for my next cut.Could not make a higher recommendation for Erol and the rest of the barbers on staff.

Finding a competent barber when you move to a new town - let alone NYC - is one of the great challenges of relocating. I must have been to half a dozen other barbers before finding Erol and I have been going to him exclusively for the past 3 years. Always happy with his service and havent had one bad experience at his shop in all this time. Recently, the original owner of the shop abruptly pulled out of the business and Erol has worked hard to keep the space open on his own despite the high rent of his location. If you care how your haircut looks and you care about supporting small business owners, please consider trying him out. I inherently distrust online reviews because the overwhelming amount of mouth breathers that leave them but I assure you Erol is legit -- I dont even live close to his shop anymore and I still make the trip each month.

Located inside the lobby of le Parker Meridien hotel, go to this barber shop for the cleanest, freshest cuts! Always a friendly greeting when you arrive (make sure to book in advance) and a beer or cocktail to accompany your haircut with your choice of news or sports on your personal tv. Every haircut is done meticulously and finished with a straight razor neck shave and hot towel. Ask for Erol in particular who I’ve been getting haircuts from for ~ 4-5 years.
