Jacob & the others over at Jean Romano Barber Shop are the only guys Ill let touch my hair on the Upper East Side. They genuinely care about each customer and make you feel like family. Even if Im not getting a haircut, Ill walk by just to chat with whoever is working that day or say hello to their birds!Ive been going to them at least 1x/month since I moved to Yorkville about 4 years ago and I honestly couldnt imagine getting a haircut anywhere else. Jacob has been cutting my hair as well as my sons’ for more than 10 years. Precision scissor cuts. He works incredibly hard andis always reliable. He is also very good with children. He’s the best!

And now I realize that his artistry got my hair through last year and it seemed to grow along the lines that he had spent so much time working on. Ive been going to Jean Romanos for 3 years and Ive never once had a bad experience. I tried a number of places in the area, but when I found Jacob and crew, I knew where all my haircuts were going to come from!The staff are super-friendly, and the haircuts are quick, clean, and exactly what I need (short back and sides, thin-out on top, thrown in neck shave and jobs a good one!).Im writing this review, because after 3 years of great service and friendship, Im leaving the area. Ill miss the team at Jean Romanos, thanks for everything, Jacob!

Great haircut at Jean Romano’s. Classic local spot, professional guys, friendly, no-nonsense quality service. Came in around 9:30 AM on a Saturday and was out by 9:45 AM looking 👌🏼 if you’re in the neighborhood and in need of cut, highly recommend!

Always an excellent cut; never wait more than 5-10 minutes, even without a reservation. Well-priced for a thorough haircut; also does shaves. Definite stop for haircuts for men and boys.

This is a great neighborhood barbershop. Everyone is genuinely friendly, they remember you by name even after just a couple visits. Strongly recommend to anyone. Enjoy.

Not good. Maybe it was just the guy I had but he completely messed up my cut. I even showed the guy several pictures OF MYSELF from different angles of how I like it cut, and he completely butchered my hair. There seem to be older barbers here. Maybe they struggle with the modern cuts that younger men like. I dont recommend.

Love this place! I go to Alex, hes a great guy who cuts consistently and quickly. Never tried anyone else but other reviewers say great things.

Excellent service and attention to detail!

If your new, dont bother, felt like my race didnt meet his ideal guest, I went to get my beard shaped up and the guy did horrible he didnt know what he was doing, plus he was more in a rush than anything. This is just my experience.

Terrible. Just completed a royal shave, cut neck and still many hairs on my face. Only bonus was friendly staff. However to have my neck cut for new years eve for 31 dollars is a disgrace. Stay away from this place

Worst experience ever! He was very rude, very unpleasant experience. He was even cutting my hair while he was watching boxing in the TV. I will never recommend this hairdresser to anyone.
