Alex greeted me like an old friend on the phone in the middle of a busy day. He invited me in right away for a cut. He was meticulous, listened to what I asked for, and offered great suggestions to keep me looking sharp. Great experience.

Oksana is an artist. I have very Curly, thick and poofy hair, so I keep it short. Never knew what to do with it. Went to many barbers in the area in the last few months since I wanted to figure out how to cut it before my wedding. This was by far the best experience and best haircut I have ever gotten in my life. I didnt ask for anything specific - just told her I dont know what to do with my hair. Moving to a new place always brings new challenges. One of them is finding somewhere you can trust to cut your hair. I checked out this shop after seeing the reviews online and called ahead to ensure they were taking people. Alex confirmed an appointment for a time just a few minutes in the future. On arrival Alex confirmed it was me who called before and showed me where I could wait for the 2 minutes he needed to finish up his previous customer. From listening to Alex talk to his current customer as well as others that popped in, it was clear that Alex has a connection and cares about all of his customers who he is all familiar with. Alexs connection with his customers truly shows how much he cares about them and makes an effort to know them and seems like a part of the community. He truly is a friendly guy, even to myself whom he just met. He gave a great professional cut which I was very happy with and made sure it was what I wanted. Alex gave me a great haircut, really the best I can remember getting. He paid attention to detail and took the time to make the cut really work well for me. At the end he recommended a product for my hair and gave me a discount on it. Also, this place has a really nice atmosphere. I doubt there’s a better barbershop on the Upper East Side.

Went to them for a traditional straight razor shave to finally get rid of my quarantine beard. It was an amazing experience! The barber gave me a close shave and even ended the experience with a Turkish head massage. Definitely worth the price for such a rare treat.

Amazing find and a great atmosphere. I called ahead and was lucky to not have to wait even one minute for my appointment, but that experience can vary from people to people. I got my hair done by Ari and he’s a great guy with good attention to detail. He worked with me for 30 full minutes and I’m very pleased with the place and atmosphere and the haircut overallThe only reason I’m giving 4 stars and not 5 is because of a personal preference of having square cut at the back rather than an oval, and I didn’t realize till my haircut was done that I was going home with an oval. Maybe it looks good on me and Ari was using his judgement, but he missed to ask and I missed to tell.I’m overall very pleased and will come back.

Had a great experience. I didnt get the haircut I was looking for, mainly because I didnt fully understood all the barbershop terms and miscommunication (they educated me at the end though). However, the haircut still turned out great. The barbers there are really meticulous about their work and I saw that while the guy (Constantine) was cutting my hair. Would recommend.

Alex is the best barber in town. He always will have a line of customers as he remember everyone one, their haircut style, and spend time making the haircut perfect.

One guy (forgot his name) did the exact opposite of what I told him to do. I specifically told him to give me just a trim and mainly cut the sides short. I then pointed out and emphasized that I liked the back of my hair the way it was already (and even showed him photos of how i liked it). Guy proceeds to cut off a lot of that hair on the back of my head. The staff was very nice but I wouldnt come here again (I wouldnt have come in the first place if I knew it was gonna cost me +$30).

Outstanding barbershop and I can’t say I’ve had a bad experience in all my visits. Very easy to walk in after work or on the weekend and be attended to shortly. I’ve now had my haircut by all of the barbers and I would trust all of them to have me looking clean and professional. Fair pricing for New York City and just a friendly environment all around.

I’ve been getting my hair cut here for 6-7 years.. I believe pretty much since he opened the shop. I’ve always been happy. Alex does a great job, and the wait times are never too bad even if you wait for Alex himself. While I’m moving out of NYC, I’ll be back to visit him when I’m in town.

Always exceptional. Ive had cuts from multiple stylists here and never need to worry how it will turn out. Great attention to detail by all. They also use and are able to recommend great hair products. Sad Im travelling back to CA after five years and cant keep coming back!

Always good haircuts. Anyone there can cut. Clean place. Parking is sometimes difficult, so park at the markets parking lot and youre good every time.Also if you dont like rap music that is R rated be care. Its not always on but it was today and it was awkward because there were kids there.I mean cuss words are words, no biggie...but songs that praise illegal gang and drug activity should not be promoted as a cool thing in culture, especially not to children.

First cut in NYC, looked at a few places and decided to go here. Was told to ask for Alex when I arrived, and was treated professionally and warmly throughout. I barely gave instructions beyond clean me up but Alex did a fantastic job, not taking needlessly long but also clearly putting in the care that begets a great cut, even when another customer showed up before my cut was finished. Would definitely recommend for a solid, fairly priced cut.

Based on the positive reviews I read, I figured this would be a great place for a haircut. I went in asking for a trim on the sides and back, emphasizing that I wanted a hard cutoff between the top and the sides. The first thing the Parker did was to run his buzzer up the side of my head, cutting off a good chunk of the top. I left with the whole thing cut to the same length, except for a few clumps of hair 1 longer than its surroundings. As I was paying, he asked me if I liked my haircut...

Very friendly place. They managed to work me in with just a phone call before I started heading their way. He was very responsive to instructions and wanted to make sure the job was done correctly.
