There is a lot of uncertainty in the reviews, but this service worked quickly and smoothly for me. The timing worked out that this bus was the fastest way to get to EWR. Bring cash if you want to purchase a ticket at the time of boarding (which I recommend, in case you miss it for some reason). Everybody wore a mask when I rode. If you are the only person traveling, this is a reasonable choice.

Waited well over an hour, late at night, when trying to get back home to NYC from Newark. One (or more) of the scheduled buses simply never showed. When the last bus of the night finally did show up, late, the driver simply shrugged. No apology, no explanation. Contacted the company the next day, and they offered no apology or reimbursement. This company disdains their customers and doesnt deserve one cent of your money.

The Information Desk at the Port Authority told me I could use a credit card to purchase a ticket from the driver on the Airport Express bus to Newark, but, after waiting in line to get on, the bus driver said he wouldn’t take the card. Not taking a credit card in 2021 doesn’t make a lot of sense, and if cards aren’t accepted, then this should be a standard policy. Everyone should be on the same page.I didn’t have enough cash for the fare, so I tried to exit the bus. When I moved to go out the door that wasn’t packed with people trying to get on, the driver pushed his forearm into my chest! Goes without saying, but a bus driver doesn’t need to touch a passenger for any reason. If the driver doesn’t want to let someone use a particular door to exit, then just say, “Use the other door.”If you’re traveling with a couple people, a taxi doesn’t cost much more and it’s faster.

Both times we booked it, The bus never showed up despite waiting for an hour. Both times we had to get a cab. Almost missed our flight on the way back to the airport. While the service is a lot cheaper than a cab, it is extremely unreliable, I am now trying to get a refund for the 4 tickets I paid for, yet they cant give me one even though their busses just never showed up. Id recommend just getting a cab, and if you need to budget, get a train, but dont try your luck with Newark Airport Express. I wasted $74 dollars, and still had to end up paying for a Cab on top of it.

We took a ride from Newark airport to manhattan timesquare around 10:45am on 6/16/2021. We got charged full price $17 one way each person even though we told the bus driver we are both senior citizens. We supposed to pay $10 per persons for one way trip. He charged us $38 for two seniors. We gave him $40 and he only gave us back $1 because he said he did not have enough change. The bus number is 6548. We are not happy with this driver service. We were happy with the lady driver for the trip from port authority (timesquare) to neward airport on 6/13/2021 around 9:30 am. Shes an honest driver.

On a saturday, bus was waiting at 11:45 at grand central stop (which is on 41st between Lexington and Park.) Driver is very nice and says we’re leaving “in a few minutes” and to buy tickets at the news shop. We left at 12pm exactly and there were multiple opportunities to buy tickets on board, especially when using a credit card. Made it to the last NYC stop at 12:23 where they checked tickets and left there at 12:30. So this bus is scheduled for 30 minutes to cross a few blocks of Manhattan. Then it’s 30 minutes more to Newark. We arrived last stop terminal C at 1:02.It’s a coach style bus you put your luggage beneath, there are power outlets although on my bus they did not work. The bus was wrapped in an advertisement making it difficult to see out the windows (but well shaded on a sunny day?)

We had a very good experience. I had read the reviews and was wary. Yet everything was very smooth. We arrived at Port Authority at about 5:42 AM and was told that the bus leaves @ 6:00 AM. We waited around a little bit then around 5:50 AM we saw the bus pull-up. We boarded and then a few minutes later an employee entered the bus and took our tickets. The bus left around 6:02 AM. It took about 24 minutes to get to the Newark Airport. We were at Terminal C, the third stop at the airport. So this took three or four minutes longer. Altogether ~28 minutes from Port Authority to EWR. If I remember correctly there was 14 people on the bus to the airport. Id definitely use this service again.

Pretty much the worst airport service I have ever experienced. Waited an hour after the bus time to watch the driver and manager struggle to figure out how the clear the seats for the wheelchair platform to be released. After 30 minutes of kicking they finally forced the seats forward only to realize they moved the wrong seats. They eventually cleared the path but struggled another 10 mins to figure out the platform release mechanism. Finally the poor lady on the wheelchair was on the bus when of course - the they managed to jam the mechanism as the railing supports were not tucked in properly.1 entire hour just evaporated. Safe to say, many were panicked about their flights just like the lady on the wheelchair who wouldn’t stop apologizing to the rest of us. Appalling. No one should be made to feel like this.Incapable, unapologetic and apathetic staff. Their arrogance was clear with all the swearing and cursing.Newark Airport (non) Express- please fix your shit.

Some of the negative reviews had me concerned, but this is a perfectly fine way to get from Manhattan to Newark for under $20. I traveled on a Sunday, late morning. I got on the bus at 10:50 a.m. at the Grand Central stop and we departed at 11:00 a.m. We got to the third stop at the Port Authority Bus Terminal at 11:20 and this is where they checked tickets for those who bought them online (which was a very simple process) and sold them via both cash and credit to those buying on the spot. We departed at 11:30 and arrived at Terminal A at 11:55. We were at Terminal B right at noon, and I presume it got to Terminal C 5 minutes later.I imagine you would want to give it 20-30 minutes extra on a weekday, possibly more if youre travelling during rush hours.Driver was perfectly nice and drove safely. The bus was wrapped in an ad, so your view is greatly diminished. The bus ineterior is outdated but fine.

Bus from Newark to NYC was great. On the way back from NY to Newark, the driver was rude, unprofessional, and she needs to lose her job. She closed the door on us first, wouldn’t let us board. We would have waited for the next bus (and should have) but then she opened the door and continued to smart off saying “uh-uh, you done said no but come on”. So we boarded. Waited another 7 minutes before we pulled off and watched her do the same while scrolling through her cell phone to several other people. Just before we left, she and her associate shut the door on another lady and she said “I don’t know what she’s waiting on but it ain’t me” and pulled away. Just rude and not suitable for public service. Bus #6548 NYC to Newark 1/18/20 at 6:10 pm

Was about a 5 minute wait from the Bryant Park location (second stop out of 3) for a bus to arrive. From the Port Authority stop (last stop) it was about a 40 minute ride to get to Newark Airport. They were pretty strict about checking the tickets which took up about 10 minutes and went around verifying ages for the children tickets which I was surprised about.I noticed that they operate a few different kinds of buses, the one I was on was like a Shortline bus while some of the others were more of your traditional MTA bus.In total not a terrible service if you have time; took about an hour and 20 minutes to arrive at Terminal A.

Immediately we drove to the 3rd stop a few minutes away. another 10-15 passengers boarded the bus. the rest of the ride went very fast but for new yorker conditions absolutely normal and pleasant, until we finally reached terminal a, some got out already. at 13:52 we arrived at our destination - terminal b -. The trip cost us as a family under 50 dollars. a bargain unlike any shuttles and taxi offered. I can recommend the bus to anyone.
