After reading the reviews decided to hire the service of Carmel Limo to be picked up from La Guardia Airport to our hotel. I selected a Deluxe Car. First the driver was like 10-15 minutes late. The vehicle we were picked up was all beat up and dirty. It looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in months. I was afraid to even touch the door handle in fear of catching something. Then the driver was a bit on the rough/defensive side in his driving style. The driver didn’t even turned on the AC. Although I suspect that it didn’t work since I could see that the check engine light was on. Imagine driving through the tunnel without AC. The fumes were really interesting to breathe. I’m no mechanic, but I could tell the transmission was not good. Overall a very disappointing experience. Not worth the money I paid.

Great experience so far just wish there was an ability to be able to change change pick up time yourself when airlines cancel or delay flights so you are not billed for canceling the trip.I called to have the time of my pick-up changed and it was pretty easy but if I didnt think about calling and wanted to just change the time through the app, there wasnt an option. The only option was to cancel but your card would still be billed.My driver was on time, courteous and a safe driver.

We were ready about a half hour before wed scheduled our pick up at EWR but this wasnt a problem at all, we had a driver pick us up within about 10 minutes of getting our bags. Would definitely use this service for airport transport.

Great service! I was able to book my trip the night before my flight and communication was stellar! They provide tracking information for your ride and even called/texted when my driver was running 10 minutes late. You are warned about the variable cost of tolls added to your trip but my driver was very straightforward with pricing for my trip. Worse customer service I ever received. Was talking to dispatch because they changed my reservation without my knowledge and expected me to be okay with it. When I called to have it changed back they put me through dispatch who changed it to begin with. He was absolutely rude! I told him I have the original email that says my pickup is in Manhattan followed by the hotel address. He told me it says Queens and if I don’t get it changed and pay a changing fee he will cancel my reservation and “see how you gonna get to the airport without a reservation.” And I will have to go through a long battle with Expedia to get my money back. I don’t like threats and I’m surprised Expedia has a company that THREATENS customers. Do not recommend! Do not book! Do not get scammed! Heading to the hotel our driver almost hit a lady walking across the street with a baby carriage! Look elsewhere.

I was going to New York City and was going to stay at the Club Quarters hotel. I called the hotel to find out about a car service and they suggested I use Carmel Limo, so I did. Carmel Limo were suppose to pick me up at the LaGuardia airport. They were 30 minutes late. The next day they were going to pick me up at 10:00am and they did. Then Carmel Limo was scheduled to pick me back up at 5:00pm. They called me at 4:30 and said they would be a little late and would pick us up at 5:20, then called me back and said 5:30. Then at 5:40 I called them and they said they would be there at 6:00. When 6:00 arrived I called them again and they said they would be there by 6:20. I then went to my Lyft app and had them pick me up and they did in 5 minutes. I then called Carmel back and told them to cancel my 5 o’clock pick up and my 5:45 AM pick up the next day. They must do a better job than they done for me because they would be out of business. But I will never use them again

I have using Carmel for many years. I have always had a good experience with them. But one issue I have a real problem with is that they charge the FULL toll on NY bridges and tunnels, even though they have the Easy Pass discount. They do not pass it on to the customer. They have been doing this for years! This is not fair AT ALL!

Dangerous driver lies about fees. Almost got us into an accident and then berated the other driver even though it was clearly his fault. Icing on the cake is he took my credit card said there is a mandatory airport fee of $26. Turns out the airport fee was $6 and he gave himself a $20 tip. Absolutely disgusted will never use Carmel again.

I booked the car to meet me and my daughter after oral surgery. As it went, I needed them to come a bit later, so I called 15 min. prior to initial arrival time, and they adjusted it for me. The car was a tiny bit late, but not bad. I was grateful they made the adjustment, and we really needed the easy trip home.

DONOT use this company!! Unprofessional! Unwilling to help! They claimed they showed up to my pick-up location flying into Pittsburgh from LA, i waited 10min after pickup time and finally called them and was told that my driver had been there for 30min and i didnt show so he left! Complete Lie! i went straight to baggage claim where they were suppose to meet me as soon as my flight landed. They were not willing to send someone else out and i had to take an Uber instead...Oh and it gets better! I had also reserved a return ride back to the airport, i received an email 1 day before departure to call them to confirm my pickup (mind you they already messed up once) so i called them to only be told that there were no drivers available to pick me up from my hotel! How does that work if i already had a reservation! Just AWFUL service!! and dont even think of asking for a refund if u didnt book directly through them (i found them via Expedia) so i was told i had to contact expedia if im looking to get a refund! i never write reviews but i had to expose them and how awful they are!!

DO NOT USE this service!! After waiting 30 minutes at the airport and 3 phone calls later, they finally told me there was no car assigned to me yet and it would be another 30 minutes. The first phone call I made, she said they would be there in 10 minutes. The second phone call, a guy told me they would be there soon and would call. It wasn’t until the third phone call that I found out a car wasn’t even assigned to me yet. At this point, there were no cabs available because the president was flying in and everything was being shut down, even the cell service. I made the reservation a week ahead and had they first dispatcher told me that, I would’ve been able to get a cab. And the last dispatcher hung up on me because I was mad! Save yourself the aggravation and and use a reliable service

TLDR: waited 45 minutes for a car that never came. Had to get an Uber.We ask for a car they say it’s 15 min away. 20 minutes later we call and the car is supposed to be 20 min away. Called again aver waiting over 40 minutes for a car… and the car was still 25 minutes away. If we kept waiting it’d be over an hour… if it would ever come. The worst car service I’ve ever had. It would have been faster to take public transit… but they lied about when the car would come multiple times.

What a perfect experience. It was so easy to just call and get my ride. It was much easier then signing up for a car services on line. I had a Doctor appointment I couldnt be late for and worried about all the traffic. The ride came exactly on time and took a route with very little traffic.

The driver was adequate until the end when he was prepared to release my wife and me before he was sure that we were at our destination. However he did recoup and found the appropriate place to discharge us.

Don’t know how to even express my disappointment with dispatch and my first initial introduction to Carmel. Not only was I told when I landed that I was early and my reservation wasn’t till 1pm, (which my confirmation email says 7:30am, the right arrival time that I had booked for.) Then I’m told that because I have a surfboard that I’ll have to change my car and have a minivan and will be charged over $100 more. In my original booking it asked for “special requests” and I was VERY detailed in explaining my shortboard and how it DOES fit into a regular sized Sedan. Then in my confirmation email it had my “special request” typed out. So in that I naturally assumed that the request had been looked at and everything would be fine. Now I’m running 30min late because they didn’t have a van there and spending $100 more than I anticipated. (I would have planned another form of transportation if I had known of the additional charge ahead.)Then once I arrive at my destination while paying by card the tip option came up, and the only option was 20% or higher. I told the driver that I was tipping by cash and handed over $45, which was more than 20% of what my original bill was SUPPOSED to be. She then gets mad at me and says “ONLY $45?! This ride was too far, they should not allow rides this far.” I explained that it had nothing to do with her service but the operators mistake and I had already spent $100 more than anticipated for the day-which is a lot of money for myself and that I’m sorry she felt that way and to take it up with the office.So I’m shamed for tipping, running late and $100 out all because Carmel didn’t actually read the Special Request when I had originally made the reservation days earlier.(Now, multiple days later.) I see that I’ve been charged 3x for the ride! The driver swiped my card multiple times saying the cc phone machine wasn’t working. So now I have to contact my credit card company and have 2 of the charges charged back. I called multiple times to talk to someone about all these problems, I was called back once, missed it and then I called them again multiple times and have never heard anything. This company had come highly recommended and I’m just shocked how horribly every step of the experience unfolded.

Ive used carmel for years but they recently added new technology that lets me see where my driver is and get me to the right spot. I had a smooth and lovely ride to LaGuardia this morning. The driver was early and knew the route well. Love these guys!

I use Carmel when going to the airport, and so do my many houseguests (I live in Manhattan). Carmel is the most affordable option Ive found, and they are very reliable--always waiting early in the morning to take me to the airport. And that is what I care about in a car service--reliability!
